Mrs. Johnson encouraged me to think and I really enjoyed her stimulating class.
Great professor!
GREAT CLASS. really helps you out. if you attend class, listen to summary of stories she gives you, you'll pass with an A. LOVED IT
Mrs. Johnson is the best Literature teacher I have ever had! I am not a big fan of english and writing papers but her class was really cool. She is really laided back and easily relates to her students. Get her if you can...
Ms. Johnson offers a very easy-going and refreshing approach to literature class. Her "lectures" are very interesting and stimulate much interaction across the room. Attend class and read the assigned material and you are set for an 'A'.
Very good teacher. Goes over everything you read in class. Listen in class and you will pass the test. Tests are sometimes long due to the essays you have to write, but she is a very good teacher! No tricks on the test, very straight forward. A++
Makes class a sociable time. She's open for discussion. LOVES animals, especially cats. Very objective on all issues. Grades fairly. Your effort and improvement shows in grades. Highly reccomended
GET RID OF DARWIN AND HUCK FINN!!!!
She is very easy! If you had hard time reading or maybe didnt even have time to read a book, she explains it well during class. It will be as if you read it yourself! just pay attention in class and its an easy A! she even gives you the essay questions before hand.
She is a very good teacher. She is very helpful and anything that she assigns to you to read, she goes over in class. Doesn't grade hard at all.
love her! very helpful, good assignments, class well managed and planned out helped me out alot! warning 10 page paper for final assignment though

She's not clear in what she wants from you. Very unclear when it comes to how she grades papers and when you go to talk with her she doesn't listen to you. All in all I don't care for her and she's not a very good teacher at all.
Nice lady but unclear on what she wants from you. Goes on tangents about absoultly nothing and then gives off the wall topics to write about. She grades papers extremely hard. She will never give a paper an A. The highest she will ever give is a B.I would try taking someone else.
I loved this class. Professor White is really helpful and knowledgable. If you need assistance on anything all that you have to do is ask. She is nice and is also a student herself so she understands some of what we are going through.
This was one of the easiest A's I have ever earned at KSU. Teacher knows her subject matter well, allows plenty of interaction/discussions among students. Assignments were easy, easy, easy! She made boring literature interesting, fun! Highly recommend if you want to earn an easy A. Just go to class & take good notes.
really easy A!!
Good Teacher! She gives a lot of B's. She's very helpful and gives a lot of class time to work on papers. You do write back to back papers all semester but she makes it pretty easy
I love professor white. she was very helpful and helped me in other ways besides class work. her class isn't hard but it did teach me a lot.
what an easy teacher! she's really laid back and helpful with everything. she's very lenient with HW, so turning it in a day or two late isn't a big deal. the final was just presenting a paper (so easy!). I didn't learn much though....I guess all I benefited from this class is better researching skills. She's really nice. Highly recommended.
I had her for 1101 and loved her so I made sure to get her again for 1102. At first, she may seem a little strange but that is just the qwerkiness that Mrs. White loves. She's a little out there, but she is SO COOL!! She really helps you develop your skills and is very understanding and open to expression.
Very enthusiastic about what she teaches. Gives essay topics for test in advance. Good notes and some study time will make tests simple. Warning - Gives pop quizzes.
She will not give A's on any papers. She is extremely boring and lectures the whole time. I do not suggest taking her.
Prof White is one of the best. She knows her material and is very willing to help you. Although there were no tests or a final we did do daily writings from the previous assigned reading. The final was a written presentation. She is laid back and easy going. I took her again for Engl 1102
She is an extremely good teacher. She has intresting lectures. It is really hard to get an A on a paper, she loves to give out Bs. However, it is an easy A if you go to class and participate.
Ms. White is very passionate about literature. She is extremely helpful. We had no tests just 2 major papers and some short responses. She grades pretty fair. If you go above you will make an A. If you just do whats asked and go to class you will definitely make a B. Use your books to add to class discussion.
Awesome class. I hate english and went from getting C's to getting an A in this class. Pay attention, contribute in class discussions, and do the work. You can not fail this class unless you try.
Great professor! Easy going and loves her work, Attend class, do your reading and you will not have any problems
She's a nice professor overall. Make sure you do ALL of your readings, for a quizzes are almost always given over them. The tests aren't too difficult. Be sure to attend class to take good notes.
A lot of reading but fun. Hate the quizzes. Exams are fair. Overall, great class
She is so interesting and extremely helpful. The class covers alot of different topics that the class writes papers on. She is not to difficult of a grader and is willing to help you grow as a writer. Take her class for sure.
I had her for a summer semester and I am not a fast reader so I probably had a harder time than most. Heavy amounts of reading but it was a compressed class.(Had to read Huck Finn and Darwin's Origin of species, in a small window) She has some weird grammar rules but is very clear about them.
Prof White is a very kind and nice person. She is helpful when you need it. She makes herself available for you in her office. The class is not completely easy she like to pile on work almost like you do not have any other class but hers. If you are able to keep up with her work and other classes i recommend her.
She was the hardest teacher i've had yet. A quiz every class time, there is a ton of reading. you have to buy seven books about an inch and a half thick each. I dropped it because she runs her class like its the only one you are taking. Lots of work, lots of reading and the quizes and tests are really hard. AVOID HER!
Very good teacher. Enjoyed the class.
What lit class can you take without reading? (heres your sign) She was very clear about what she wanted and the quizes are easy if you read the cliff notes alone reading the stories. I thought it was a great class.
I felt as if she pushed her religious beliefs onto us and implied that beliefs were fictional and improbable. I didn't like her at all. She is very young and it was proven in her teaching methods. I do not think teaching is what she should be doing.
I got an A without doing any of the readings. Just look at SparkNotes before each class and the quizzes will be easy. Tests are somewhat challenging but she gives you the essay questions in advance and tells you all the quotes you need to know in class, so go to class.
Great teacher. Easy class. As long as you read the selected readings, the class is a breeze...you just have to be willing to take the to time to do the readings because it can be time consuming.
Wonderful teacher. All of our readings were from Smithsonian magazine. We had discussions about the articles (nothing boring). 2-3 or 3-4 paper due just about every week, but she isn't a hard grader. A decent paper will get you an 88, make it better and you can get an A. 10 page paper final & presentation. Chill class. Understanding, helpful teache
So, she's an awesome teacher and is extremely wise&nice. I worked my butt off for an A in this class. She starts every paper off with an 80 and goes from there. on her syllabus. -b's are above average- she's very helpful. if you want an easy A, do not take. if you want to learn about travel and different viewpoints, take.
Professor White is off the chain. granted there is a lot of reading and quizzes but the class discussions are cool and she makes the class fun. I've read books that i never thought i would read. I really appreciate it. She is an excellent Professor. I wish my math teacher was like her.( i think that is the code i took her class summer 2010)
This class is all about read and discuss and write a page about content. The final is a big project that includes a 10 pg paper and video. Easy class yet still hard to make an A, she only gives B's so be prepared.
she has tons of quizzes 2 a week and 1 post a week with the hybrid class the quizzes are really easy but the test are crazy 1 didnt study for the first and made a 76 then studied my butt of and made a 72 i kno it doesnt make any sense so if u take her be prepared to put in the time if u want at least a B
Great teacher. She makes it interesting. An EXTREMELY large amount of reading per week. Online quizzes are a breeze and so are the in-class quizzes. Although there's usually only 5 questions, you HAVE to do the reading to pass this class.
Professor White is by far the best English teacher I've had. She is brilliant and well-rounded and takes a great interest in her student's work. She allowed us to work in class on our midterm and final. She also walked around class and asked us individually how we were doing and if we needed help.
Great English teacher, amiable, approachable, etc. Online and in-class quizzes are easy, but beware: tests include specific quotes from the reading, so make SURE you read and understand the material - you will fail if you do not. I took a Hybrid World Lit class with her and had to read a TON every week. I managed to pull off an A, but was NOT easy.
AMAZING prof. The entire class loved her. If your taking college English for the first time this is the prof you want. So helpful and kind. She has a discussion every day and you write for fun. Only 3 real papers. She is fabulous!
Great professor! Class is based off 1 book: Class discussions everyday, one 2-3 page paper due every week (8 total papers), but they're not hard at all, and a 10 page research paper. Really laid back and sweet. As long as you go to class and write the papers, it's pretty easy. ALWAYS willing to help and responds quickly. HIGHLY recommend!
She is my definitely my favorite professor that I have had so far. I am taking the next level English class with her and am looking forward to it. I wouldn't say this class is an "Easy A" but it's not difficult as long as you read the book, write all your papers and show up to class. TAKE HER CLASS :)
Professor White's classes are easy. She has a very thorough Vista page and & is always willing to help with any questions her students may have. We read a novel & had to write responses every few chapters which wasn't hard & had to write a paper toward the end but she gives plenty of time to finish and helps so much along the way. Her class is fun!
Great professor and she loves what she teaches. Exams are not to hard, but a lot on quotes from the stories. Has a quiz just about every class, but they are very easy as long as you read the material and they help boost your grade. She is always available for you to go and get help or ask questions.
GREAT PROFESSOR! Read 1 book and wrote a paper a week. Discussions were engaging and really got you thinking, so writing was easy. 10 page research paper was interesting and plenty of time was given for writing. Professor White was there every step of the way. Super sweet woman, grades fairly, and always available for help. TAKE HER CLASS!!!
Wonderful teacher, not easy but not hard to learn from. she is great.
hated english but loved her and also took her for 1102. 1101 was easy but 1102 was more difficult but she is definitely willing to help and work with any student.
She is a wonderful professor! I highly recommend her. She is very kind and understanding. Overall, the class was easier than expected. I took the English literature before 1660 course. Buy the book! You WILL need it. You also need to go to class.
AMAZING! Take her for freshman english. Interesting, nice, and clear on all assignments. One of my favorites
Really good freshman teacher. You only need the Everythings an argument book for the most part. No quizzes or tests or FINAL!! Only papers and in class writting things. Really nice though. Interactive...but kinda pointless to come to class if you dont have to turn anything in. Overall GREAT TEACHER.
I would take her if I were you. She is such a hippie and so down to earth. White is so helpful and wants all of her students to do well.
Prof. White is an excellent professor who truly cares about her students. The class was difficult and involved A LOT of reading, but if you go to class and take notes from the lectures, the tests are not too bad. Lots of quotes on the tests. Quizzes every class over the reading and discussions posts on Vista throughout the semester.
Prof. White is a really great teacher. This course requires a lot of reading and she gives a quiz at the beginning of each class from the reading the class before; then she goes into deep detail with each reading. As long as you read & do discussions you can easily make an A. I got a C because I missed one discussion post.
Professor White's class was very time consuming based on all the reading she has you do. If you hate reading every week, look elsewhere. Take good notes in her lectures because you WILL see that stuff on the tests. She has quizzes each class over the material you were supposed to read so make sure you read it!
Best literature teacher at KSU. Gives a quiz daily on the assigned readings. I dont mind reading and the works were actually interesting. As long as you read and do the discussion posts, youll be fine. Final exam is long but its just all the info from quizzes. Great Professor!!
Loved the class!
Great class. A lot of reading but fun and interesting.
Took this as an on-line class. Was challenging - lot of reading - but she kept everything very well organized and was very responsive. Enjoyed the class.
Took this as an on-line class. Very organized and detailed. LOTS of reading, but it is a World Lit class. A quiz every weekend over material from the week. Two tests that were difficult but not impossible. Regular discussion posts. Teacher was very responsive. If you stay on task you will do well.
LOVE Dr. White! She is incredibly intelligent and extremely helpful on the material. Does a great job of explaining and analyzing. Be prepared to read read read - attendance isn't mandatory, but reading quizzes every day. As long as you read and somewhat pay attention, you'll definitely make an A. Definitely recommend!
Mrs. White's fun. She compares everything to Star Wars, Batman, or something else just to get you to understand it. A LOT of reading - first test was over 600 pages of material. She usually tries to balance out the reading so that longer works can be read over the weekend. Very helpful if you ask. Grades promptly. Two tests are majority of grade.
Took the ENGL 2110 online. RIDICULOUS amount of reading! Apparently, she thinks her class is the only class the students have in a semester. I know this class has a lot of reading, but this is ridiculous. Do not take her.
GREAT FRESHMAN TEACHER! Pretty laid back in class. only need everything's an argument book for in-class writings/hw/essays. She also helps students who are willing to put the effort to succeed in her class. No final except for a final essay.
While not mandatory, there are daily quizzes(extremely easy), but lowest five are dropped(took harder classes in high school). Lectures extremely boring and gained nothing from them, so don't take unless you really struggle with literature. Read a lot-- like 100+pgs a night sometimes. Can pass quizzes with summaries though pretty though.
Really enjoyed Dr. White. Took this course online and would recommend it. It's a ton of reading, but I read all the readings through Sparknotes and did just fine on the quizzes and discussion posts. Great online course.
Cool lady but if you don't like writing, don't take her. We wrote a 3 page essay every single week from assignments straight out of the "Literacies" textbook (only book you need). No quizzes or tests, little hw, & attendance is mandatory but class is pointless. Very difficult grader; most people got B's on every paper. If you need an A, good luck.
Shes pretty nice and her classes are easy, but she gets off topic a lot. The bad part is all the writing. 3 page paper every week and challenging topics on top of that...
Class was extremely informative and Professor was extremely clear on the the things she wanted and extremely fair in her grading. Be prepared to keep up with the reading and essays that you have to write
I took her class online and if you are not a reader, I would not recommend taking this class with a full load. You have to read a selection, take a quiz and write a discussion EVERY WEEK, so if you are not good at time management, her class may not work for you. She always answered emails and was helpful with questions or issues.
DO NOT TAKE THE WORST TEACHER I HAVE EVER HAD. class is very challenging she does not give A's. I'm a hardworking student who wish to get an A. It is very unlikely that you will get an A. You have to read forty pages out of the book a week and on top of that write a three page research paper with work cited. EXTREMELY HARD GRADER,
I had Mrs. White as an English 1102 Professor as well as a world literature summer online course... I recommend her!! Any English/Lit class is going to be either a lot of writing or reading, but she only chooses stories or topics that are not that dry of a subject.
Dr. White's course is as hard as you are willing to work. If you want an A she gives you the ability to make one. The exams are difficult but she is very good with class feedback and will adjust as needed. Lots of reading but I have gotten by fine with mostly spark notes. I would still buy text books to reference. Easy A if you want it.
Overall, an easy class. I read mostly summaries of the books and got by. The notes she posts are also worth reading. She's not too particular on discussion boards. No paper. Final had short answer questions which were also not graded too harshly.
She assigned us one project over the semester that had several grades within it. Besides that if you did the readings and homework then you got a 100 on those. Discussions are interesting and she helps you if you need it.
This is legitimately the worst online course I've ever taken. A single week's module should never contain four reading assignments, two quizzes, two discussion posts, two Voicethread assignments, and a four page paper. She's disorganized (exam was two weeks late) and floods you with busy work, despite this being a 2000 level course. 010.
I love Dr. White!! There was a 200 word essay every week on a(n) (interesting) story from the Norton Reader, a one-paragraph response to a question from another book, and wrote a research script for a documentary (final). Wasn't an easy A, but not impossible if you work for it - it's college!! She was very sweet, too, and challenged your mind!
Absolutely LOVED this class and professor. Lots of reading, but the class discussions make it worth it. She really engages the students and relates readings to every day life. Weekly quizzes and a few tests. Easy A if you do the readings.
Tons of reading with quiz & discussion due weekly. You'd think since tests are online that they'd be easy-guess again. quizzes and discussions are easy (you can even just use sparknotes), but tests are ridiculous with stupidly worded questions that are impossible to answer. I'd take someone else, but it's a relatively easy class.
If you are a full time student and part time worker this class is difficult to keep up with. She expected us to read a story every week, do a discussion post and a quiz. The stories are pretty long and take time to understand. Also, don't expect to make above a 90 on your posts even if they are good and meet the criteria.
This class took over my life! It is only a 2000 level class, but had more work than my 4000 level classes. 2 Translation exercises, 2 explications, 2 papers for final exam, tests, quizzes, tons of reading, & discussion posts. Some weeks there would be 4 quizzes , along with a discussion posts over the reading. Assignments are rarely ever clear.
THeh online class is easy if you read sparknotes or a summary. People who don't get an A don't even try. I took it over the summer and an A was easily attainable with minimum effort.
This is horrible. I wanted to die. The tests are impossible. Save yourself.
Do you want an A? If so, think carefully. Plenty of class time to work on essays. Does tend to say offensive things about white Americans as well as police and military. Also, don't expect to get good grades on the essays unless you are filled with angst. If you are a well adjusted student and don't put blame on others, you might not do well.
Denise White is a wonderful professor. She is very passionate about what she teaches, and though she isn't as boisterous in energy as someone with these characteristics, she's funny from time to time. She cares about the student. Give her respect. Coming to class is not mandatory, but it helps. Read and you'll do fine. 5 question quizzes 4 readings
This is a good class to take the discussion post corresponded to the work. The test were what was expected. The overall grading was in line with what you would expect for a online class.
The online class is bearable but to say the least she isn't clear about what volume book you're reading in and isn't very clear with instructions. Each week you will have one or two 5 question quizzes and a 200 word min. discussion post. It is impossible to get 100% on your discussions and I don't believe she grades them fairly. Be ready to read!!!
I loved Professor White as a person, and as a professor. I took her for honors credit, and the workload wasn't terrible. You have 4 responses (if you just do them you get an A. Easy grader for those) 3 critiques (not so easy) and a big project that she gives you time in class to work on. Don't miss more than 2 classes and you'll be fine!
She is a nice lady, but not the best when it comes to directions. A lot of the work is on your own time and grading, in my opinion, isn't the best.
She is very friendly; however, she never gives me above a 90 on ANYTHING. Her feedback tells me my work was great, yet when I work my butt off she gives me a B on my papers.
Professor White truly cares about her students and helps with questions as much as possible. There are many papers but what do you expect from an English course? She gives plenty of time to write the papers, so it's easy to stay on top of things. I would recommend taking this course as hybrid because you write the papers outside of class anyways.
We "read" one book and had a paper due relating to the book once a week for 6 weeks. The paper was very easy and didn't take longer than 2 hours because you were relating the book back to your life. Final project is a 5-7 page research paper with a video presentation. She gives you tons of class time to basically do the final project in class.
I thoroughly enjoyed Professor White's online class. Sure there is a decent amount of reading, but welcome to being an English major. She graded fairly, although some of her feedback was a little generic. Quizzes, discussions, translations, and explications were all easy as long as you did the required reading.
TAKE HER CLASS. I'm an Applied Arts major and absolutely hate english classes, but I loved hers. She definitely isn't an easy A as in you can show up only to the final and pass. She has a charismatic personality and invests herself into the work her students are doing, especially towards the end of the semester Talk to her about cats to be friendly
She wants you to read more hours a week than people even have time. Some quizzes you are only given 10 minutes . If you like to read take her, if not stay away. Also there is no extra credit, she will not adjust any grades. Exams are pretty easy
During the summer, 400 weekly Discussion Board posts nearly killed me. Not a bad class if you're able to write 400 words easily every week. Tests and quizzes are easy. YOU NEED THE TEXTBOOKS
Basically an easy class until the end. The final is much more challenging than any of the other work and brought my grade down. She was unwilling to bump my 89.89 at the end of the semester.
Taken over the summer. The length of the readings is ridiculous. Quiz & 250 word post/week. Sometimes quizzes are unlimited time. Sometimes 10 questions in 10 mins. Really bad for someone who spark notes as they take the quiz. It's possible to get an A without reading. Midterm and finals consist of quotes that are easily found online (no lockdown).
She was an alright teacher. I took her as a hybrid class and only met with her in class once a week. Very monotone and didn't really get excited about much. There are 4 papers, one of them counting as your final and there's a discussion post every week.
Dr. White is by far the most amazing teacher I've had. I have hated reading and writing my whole life, but she motivated me to start reading more for enjoyment and even helped with my writing skills significantly. She is an amazing teacher and will do anything to help you. I took her hybrid class, so class was mandatory but it wasn't bad at all.
I took a hybrid and she was a SUPER easy grader. She goes in detail about things but only when you ask. No need to read, she goes over the chapter in class (which was super quiet and boring). There's a ton of class time to work on papers though, so plenty of opportunities to ask her to check over things for you.
Absolutely LOVE Dr. White. Throughout the semester we had (I think) 5 papers and she always checked up on us to make sure we were doing well on our essays. Plenty of class time to work on your papers and has them graded within a couple days of turning it in. Super sweet lady and a really great professor.
You cannot pass this class without reading and watching the assigned videos. I tried. Once I started reading and participating in the discussions, I actually enjoyed the class. She is very organized and will email you back almost instantly.
I actually took her for two classes and she's by far my favorite professor. She is so willing to help you on papers and review over your stuff. She also is super understanding in general if you communicate with her. Definitely take her, I'm not an English person but she makes college English not terrible. I never felt overwhelmed!! Deff recommend
Very easy class. Weekly quizzes and discussion posts. 3 tests total on lockdown browser (no webcam) that are simple to pass. Hard to get 100s on discussions but honestly that doesnt matter, you can still get a high A. Recommend taking online.
Super easy class. Just do the work and you'll get an A
I took this online. very easy and she is very nice. I took her last semester for 1102. Very quick & responsive to emails. easy easy A
Dr. White is amazing. She gives assignments with clear instructions, and if you have issues understanding something, you can email her and she will respond promptly and efficiently. She grades assignments typically within a day or two which is great. Just do the readings and work with your best effort and you will do well. Highly recommend!
Expects you to remember specific quotes on her tests from multiple readings, that are each 30+ pages. This class is NOT an easy A. If you have an interest in ancient readings with difficult language then this is for you. English has always been my favorite subject but this class is near impossible without a LOT of effort.
Professor White wasn't as bad. You barely get 100 on discussions but I got A's. I had complications and to be honest, didn't read. It is definitely a lot of reading, her class needed 6 books in total with 1-3 stories in each. It was a lot and I wouldn't do it again but If I can do it, you can. I hate reading but I pushed through with a C.
This is not the class to take during a summer session, it is very reading intensive and the quizzes/tests are very hard. I read everything required and still had a hard time. I would have really appreciated a voice over lecture to discuss concepts of the readings to, but she didn't do that. You will not earn 100s on discussions.
a lot of these reviews are positive and I can't find out why for the life of me. A quiz a week, lockdown, webcam, no going back once you've answered a Q. readings over historic epics (very long texts) and 5 question quizzes which ask terrible questions. Exams have direct quotes, she treats the class like it's all you have to do, just stay away tbh
Nice teacher. The reading was extremely too much. She expects you to read 300+ pages and then take a 5 questions quiz on it. If you do the reading you're fine. Discussion posts aren't hard. Just don't expect this to be a chill class, the reading never ends. It does get better at the end of the semester.
I took her class during the summer, and overall it was pretty good. During the class there were 4 discussions (250 words min.), 2 page response of the book we were reading, 3 page critique, annotated bibliography/research proposal, a draft of our final paper, and the final paper. If you try I'm sure you all will pass. She's very kind as well.
Yes just do it man easiest class I have ever taken
I love this professor! she's really understanding if you reach out. For an English class we only have 3 papers including the final paper. Each weeks discussion is based on building your paper. She gives feedback to help your paper each week. I hated English classes but this class is my favorite this semester. 100% recommend taking this class.
she would post everything we needed text wise. each week theres an assignment for in class but its short and to help you with the essay youre working on. then on sundays a discussion post/ reply is due. no quizzes and only 3 papers due. grades from class work and discussion but thats super easy. overall pretty easy class and grader and she helps
She's a fine professor, but her class is test heavy. The quizzes and tests are more so focused on quotes rather than themes, so if you don't remember each word exactly it's sometimes difficult. Weekly assignments are basically a reading, a discussion post, and a 5-question quiz. It's a mix of a heavy workload, but an easy grade if you work.
I do not know why she has a high rating. Do not take WORLD LIT with her. She makes you read hundreds of pages a week and then gives you a 5 question quiz over it. She does not let you make-up anything. The lowest grade I have ever gotten in a class was in this class!
This is the most challenging class I have ever taken. I am usually a straight-A student, but her tests were complex. The questions are mostly made up of quotes from the stories. If you are not good at mesmerizing specific quotes, DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS! The homework and quizzes were weekly and short. The tests are the downfall of class.
SO. MUCH. READING. Each week we had to read about 100 pages, all for a discussion post and quiz. However, you can do just fine by reading summaries.
She's great! Very clear instructions for assignments. Seems like a lot of work but if you are overwhelmed there are always summaries online that help break down the stories. I turned in a discussion late and she still let me have late points, very gracious. Quizzes are not hard, and I never purchased the textbook, and I was fine.
She answers emails promptly, gives GREAT feedback, has clear grading criteria, does not assign crazy amounts of work, and everything done in the class builds up to the final paper. Overall, great professor for ENGL1102 online!!
Not an easy or hard professor I would say the workload is in the middle. She is serious about the whole rough draft and final draft/revising process so be ready to write and improve your writing a lot.
lol if you want to spend hours upon hours reading literature that is extremely hard to decipher, take this class. :) so much reading per week, you cant use notes (all based on memory), and the quizzes are only 5 questions so if you get 2 wrong, welp. she's a nice teacher overall, but its just too much for a gen ed class. dropping it asap
This is by far the hardest class I have ever taken in my entire academic career. You are expected to memorise specific quotes out of hundreds of pages for the exams and for the 5 question quizzes every week, if you miss 2 you fail, you cannot go back to questions once answered, lockdown browser.STAY AWAY CLASS IS HORRIBLE IF I COULD GO BACK IN TIME
This class was amazing. The stories were varied in culture and subject and the discussions promoted free-thinking. My only complaint is the amount of reading. You're sometimes expected to read upwards of 500 pages in a week on top of your other classes. Either get good at skimming or get faster at reading or you're going to be lost
While the professor/class isn't hard, it is very tedious. Many aren't looking to do boring work for a required class. If that's you, don't take the class. A lot of the work done is memory so if that isn't your strong suit, I recommend you pick a different teacher. As a world lit class expect a lot of reading, like a book/passage a week.
Pretty good teacher, but she gives A LOT of writing assignments. Each week you write about 250+ discussions and every other week you write a 2 page essay. The final paper was about 7 pages. I do have to say it made me a better writer.
Easy A. I read some reviews complaining about the length of the lectures but c'mon we all know we can find a summary online. She gave us questions to answer by the end of the week basically asking for your own opinion. The final was a long essay but easy enough compared to other classes.
I took this class online and it was an easy A. You just have to read whatever the assigned story is for the week and write a discussion post. Super easy. She is also so nice and responds quickly to emails.
This course was a lot of reading about an article/book a week while answering questions about what was read. She was a very good professor and was willing to help or answer questions whenever needed just be ready to read and turn in a post by the end of the week. overall would take this course again.
I took this class online. I did just fine with summaries of the stories. There is a lot of material. It was a new text and discussion each week. She is clear about grading, and I would say she is not a hard grader.
I had Dr. White as my world literature teacher and she made sure each lesson was exciting and understandable. All assignments were clear and easy to complete. There is a lot of reading to be done in this class but each reading assignment was very interesting. She wants to hear your perspective, which I found great! I would definitely recommend her!
This class can be tough, but engaging with the material and using helpful study tools like Unstuck ai can really pay off. Lectures are clear, and the professor is responsive. If you're willing to put in the work, it's a rewarding experience.
75% of your grade is 8 discussion posts, for a half semester that is one a week. each post was on a reading that was very long, between 50 and 400 pages. she is not forgiving on missed assignments at all even when there are issues that wouldnt allow you to submit it. I personally wouldnt take it again but if your good at staying on top of work take
Very easy class. Grade was entirely discussion posts (pretty sure they are completion) and the final. The discussion posts were about class readings and were 350-400 words long each. I very strongly suggest you take this class.
Gives great feedback and grades very very generously. There is a lot of writing (12 discussions, 2 critiques, 2 responses, final paper stuff) and reading (a book that the final paper is based on kinda), but as long as you try a little, you can get an A.
She forces you to read the most boring and useless book for the whole semester and every assignment is over it. She is honestly unreasonable and strict about late assignments which was irritating to me because by missing one discussion post, my grade dropped from a 92 to an 86. If you're not forced to, I wouldn't take this professor. Pointless!
