He is a great guy !!! I know from him a lot.His class was one of the best. I enjoyed.

A lot of work...but paid off in the end. I had the class 3 years ago and it helped a lot in my classes at Temple. Friends who had it easy in other sections of the class paid for it in the long run. I learned how to write - I had to in order to pass. There was no other way!

I think Professor Bartsch is one of the finest teachers in the college. He was not only helpful in the clarity of his teachings, but he would go beyond his duties to help me become a passionate writer and person. I will always be thankful to have had the pleasure of Professor Bartsch as my eng 101 teacher.

Yeah, it's really important "become a passionate person" in his class.

Difficult but good class

Learned more than any other English class I ever took. It wasn't an easy class. Maybe that's because high school was.

Learned alot about writing & can do it much better now than before. Work hard & learn; don't & perish!

A lot of writing for summer. More work than I'd hoped for during the summer but worth it in the end.

It's funny to look at badly written commentary here by those so critical of this professor! Their comments only confirm his grade! I enjoyed the class & learned alot.

A very hard and critical teacher. He makes you work your butt off but you will learn to be a better writer.

His class was very hard but he IS an excellent teacher. If you are really serious about writing better, then I suggest you take his class. If you do not learn anything else, you will learn how to build a perfect Thesis!!!

A lot of work but did learn how to write college level essays. I learned more in this class than in all my HS classes combined.

VERY difficult class. A lot of writing. I guess there's no other way to learn how to do something than to do it often. I now can write reasonably competent college level essays (I think!). Dr. Bartsch always pushes for more and better.

Good class. Informative lectures . Commentary on returned essays was sometimes a bit confusing but always was explained clearly when discussed.

Great class...tho I didn't think so when pulling out my hair writing essays. Got easier with each lecture and new homework project. Learned a lot but had to work hard. Don't take if you are looking for an easy ride.

Very helpful if you show genuine interest. If you're lazy or disinterested, you're in the wrong class. He's not real tolerant of bad work ethics.

I'm an older student who took class after 10 years of being out of school. Class was good and prepared me for Temple. Bigger problem was students in the class who weren't ready to do college level work. I agree that there was a lot of writing.

The Best english prof...I learned so much, and he was very helpful when I didn't understand.

Laughing cause a classmate whose review was poor misspelled awful. Maybe that's why he was unhappy. LOL. Class was hard but helpful. No free ride.

Prof Bartsch expect a lot from his student but if you are able to follow his guidelines you will pass his test and exam.His class is not an easy ride thou,u need to work hard for your grade.TRUST ME!

Professor Bartsh is an incredibly hard professor. However, he goes off to left field somewhere and you want to know what that has to do with ENGLISH. He is very hard but you will learn what you need to pas his class. Just pay attention, do the work and study and you will be all right. He is very hard but it is worth taking his class.

Had class over two years ago...Sexy and smart...Hard but rewarding...

Good teacher... No easy A though... Must be willing to work hard for your grade... Pleasure to have though, very knowledgeable and def helped me prepare for college writing assignments

His class was very painful. I still get flash back once in a while. However, after the suffering is over you will feel 100 percent better about your writing skills. English 102 was a breeze. I feel that his class really did prepare me.

I'm going on my second year at CCP & I can still say that Dr. B definitely was the hardest i've had yet! He's extremely knowledged & knows what he's talking about. Out of my class only 4 people passed. Luckily i was one of them. If you clown around & act careless you won't get no where. I definitely learned a lot from him though!

I had Dr. Bartsch 3 years ago for Freshman comp. It was a great class that prepared me nicely for Temple.

Had this prof 3 years ago now. It was the worst class I ever loved. I'd never written so much in my life. But when I got to West Chester, I really knew how to perform. This guy didn't have to work as hard has he did to teach me to write. He was into the subject and did his job.

Tough teacher but you will learn alot. Very in having you put details into your writing. I am thankful to him because my professors now compliment me on my writing.

I'm graduating from Drexel this year. Dr. Bartsch's class ranks as one of the top ten best classes I had in my four years in school. I'm very thankful I had his class.

You will either love or hate this class, depending on why your in college. If you want an easy A and a repetition of the high school experience, your in the wrong place. If you really want to learn important skills, you will love this class. My writing is soooo much better since taking this class. I no longer struggle with college papers.

I enjoyed having Mr. Bartsch as a teacher. He taught me the correct way to write a paper. He assigns a lot of work, but that is the point of the class--writing papers. He's pretty funny, too.

If you want to learn to write on a coolege level you NEED to take his class. I took him in the summer, busted my butt, and ended up with a B and a better understanding on how to write. Since his class I have never recieved anything less than an A on all my other papers!

One of the very best professors at ccp. greatly enjoyable lectures.

He's a great Teacher but too advanced for CCP and I think I might have to drop him so I won't get a failing grade and lose my FA (financial aid)

His course is unlike most I had at CCP. He's very knowledgeable and expects serious effort. Few in my class were willing (or able) to put in the work, and they paid the price. I knew I wanted to transfer, so I worked hard and it paid off. It was great for me because I'm very focused on school, but if you're not, you'd best find another prof.

Mr. Bartch's expectations are in line with other Eng. 101 classes. I had this class b4 at Penn State where it was similar. the difference is I'm learning something from this class. Lectures are informative and comments on essays are helpful.

Highly recommended for anyone who wants to improve his writing skills. Great teaching technique, high expectations,exceptionally helpful, great output.

Enjoyed the lectures a lot. There was quite a bit of writing, but understandable since it was a writing course. I can say I learned a lot about writing in the course

Great teacher. Will clearly explain all information necessary to receive a passing grade as well as provide helpful feedback on essays. There is a lot of work involved, but if you're looking to improve your writing and gain the solid foundation necessary for success in Eng 101, take this class.

It was a very tough semester, but, I learned alot from Professor Bartsch.

I had this course during the summer and learned a lot that prepared me for the next level English course where I'm now having an easy time. I would recomend this course, tho it would be better not to take it during the summer.

Mr.Bartsch was a great professor wanted his students to work hard and earn there grades. IF YOU DON'T WANT TO DO WORK THEN DON'T TAKE HIS CLASS IT'S NOT FOR SLACKERS.

Did more writing than I did in all of high school. Learned more than I did in HS in this one class, too. Great prof. Knows subject and gives good, helpful comments on returned work.

Interesting prof. Loves the subject, you can tell. Did a lot of writing but got easier with each essay. He was always available to discuss problems and offer help. That said, it was alot of work for a summer class.

Very helpful. Subjects that you have to write about are very easy. He uses a CD as his textbook (in which you can purchase for $5, and it has all the information for the course in it). After taking his class I feel very confident in my writing skills. He has taught me to be a better writter.

Not a dynamic kind of professor but he knows his stuff. Although his style of teaching bored me I must say i learned a lot from him. All we did was write this class. So many papers but he graded fairly and was helpful. The class is hard work and he may put you to sleep but if you put in the work he will grade you on your progress fairly.

Professor is a difficult grader, but he knows this stuff. As long as you try and be very detailed in your papers he will grade well. I thought the class was very informative and helped me a lot when I took ENG 102. Highly recommend because you will work hard and learn TONS!

I took the summer class with this professor last summer. This professor is a no nonsense guy! He is very serious about his classes, and his assignments! Tough grader but makes you want to impress him because of the toughness of his grading.

Took class this summer. Intense, yes; but it has been the most useful and informative class I've had so far. I really (finally) learned how to write at a college level. Lectures were very informative and assignments were mostly engaging. I wish I had taken the class during the regular semester because it would not have been so condensed.

As long as you do your weekly summary, few essays, participate & obviously show up you will do great. Professor Bartsch was a great help english is not a great subject for me but he made it a little easier. The book "How to Watch the TV News" is an awesome book I would've read it on my own had I found it first.
