Professor Cappello is such a great person. You truly feel that he is more than a professor, like a true friend in the classroom. He is very humorous and engaging. His tests are clear-cut, and he goes over various cases and readings that are fun and interesting so that you understand concepts well.

He is really upbeat and interesting. He makes the class fun and enjoyable. He grades fair and his tests aren't too hard as long as you study.

Cappello is the best teacher ever, plus he has a soft spot for his fellow Italians. He makes the subject fun and easy, especially when he brings a bat into class to explain battery, or when he puts on Christmas music and an elf hat to give out candy canes to the whole class.

Cappello is articulate, intelligent, and fair. Discussions extremely in-depth. Tests are 1 @ 30%, 1 @ 15%, 10% participation, and 45% final. Tests are extremely easy if you study. Does cancel class sometimes. I found this to be my favorite class this semester. I took him at 8:30 and would recommend him as a morning professor. Outstanding individual

The best professor at FU period! His discussions in class simply stay in your head because of his ability to explain everythign well. I never took notes and only read the chapters before each exam and got an A. Great guy, gives a moving goodbye speach at the end (almost cries) really cares about individual students and he's a bigshot lawyer too! A+

what's not to like about cappello?! he's smart, funny, and he makes law seem interesting. i was dreading this class at 8:30, but he totally made it worth it. the tests can be tricky, but use your brain, read the book, and you will do well. he sometimes cancels class, which is good and overall, he is a terrific professor. take him!

Awesome professor, had class at 8:30 and he was def my favorite class and I'm not a morning person.. just read the chapter summaries at the end of each chapter once or twice and its easy! He is very friendly and has a great sense of humor, def take his class!! Other profs who teach this are probably really boring but he's definitely not!

Take this professor; he's a fair grader, uses the book only for the most important sections & hw, tests on the material taught. BEST PROFESSOR AT FORDHAM. (and he's funny too!)

Best professor ever! Fair grader, very helpful, challenges you to think. Always willing to answer questions (even if you sound stupid asking them). Also eats carrots for lunch so it might throw some people off seeing their professors chew alot in front of them.

It just doesn't get much better than Cappello. Not only is his class very interesting, but he takes a genuine interest in his students. Will answer any questions you have regarding law. He's a very fair grader too. 2 midterms (higher grade is 30% and lower is 15%) and a final. Unbelievably nice and an overall great guy. Take him already, dammit!

Nice guy - lenient, helpful, and understanding. A bit slower than other professors; covers about 1/3 of the chapters stated in the syllabus. However, overall a good professor, knowledgeable, gives fair tests, and very amusing. An A/A- is very achievable.

Cappello is the man! Not only does he entertain you every class, but he makes law fun and doesn't present stupid powerpoints like most professors do. He's a CPA, an attorney, and a sanitation judge, so the man has a life outside the classroom, but will do whatever to help his students. If you take someone else, you will surely regret it.

I am probably one of very few people who isn't a big fan of his pretty obnoxious personality-HOWEVER... despite that fact, I still would not have taken any other teacher. Even though it's an 830, you will stay awake and pay attention more than not. The class is easy, straightforward. Easy A if you attend and listen to his lecture.

Legal Framework is awesome. Easy A, Learned a lot, he uses real life examples to explain the law. Great teacher. I heard however, for Accounting, he is not used to teaching the subject and can get on tangents about law. Still, overall great prof.

Great professor. 1 midterm 1 final couple of quizzes you take online. Gives extra credit. Explains everything really well and is really funny. Not that hard to pay attention in his class because he talks really loud. But overall great. TAKE HIM!

For those saying you can't get higher than a B-... How about try reading the 2-some odd cases he assigns a day. It's not that difficult. He calls on people at random to make the cases fun. Lessons are crystal clear and he's passionate about his stuff. Oh, I got an A. Easy. Take him. Easy, and you learn life lessons too. One of the best at Fordham.

He is a great person. His teaching style is very personal. Even though the homework assignments are out of the book, they aren't mandatory.The more you participate the better the grade. Plus there is a HUGE curve at the end. I didn't think I was going to get over a C because I did poorly on the midterm, but ended up with a B+.I highly recommend him

Professor Cappello is one of the most energetic professors that I have ever had. Because of this, there was never a dull moment in this class, even though the subject matter is pretty dull. Professor Cappello knows the material back and forth. I can't believe the Dean's List kid didn't do well... I am def not Dean's List, and I got an A.

i had capello for business law. i got an A-: here's how you do it. go to at least 90% of your classes. read each chapter before the midterm. thats it. becaue he explains everything so well in class and gives such good examples, that by the time you read you'll be able to apply what he said to what you're reading. best professor i've ever had.

For Thanksgiving, I am thankful and privileged to have Cappello as my Law Professor. I seriously cannot imagine myself with another professor. He genuinely cares about his students. Also, he explains the concepts well and gives good examples I somehow pulled a perfect score on his MT, and I am just an average student.........

One of the best professors I had all semesters. The class is more about understanding how the law works than memorizing obscure vocab terms. He infuses both his hilarious personality and professional insight to make coming to class enjoyable, even at 8:30am. If you don't try to take his class you're really missing out.

Professor Cappello is a fantastic professor & a great person. The class was easy; didn't really pay attention because it was really early in the morning, but caught his stories here & there. It came down to reading the textbook, and even the he told us which chapters & sections he'd be testing us on! Review day, the essays came out... can't beat it

Professor Cappello is a great professor. He really knows his stuff and he is both a certified CPA and lawyer. Two test all multiple choice and six short essays. Great course, will definitely take again if he teaches commercial transaction law.

Absolutely brilliant guy. Uses a real world example to literally teach everything. Absolutely anyone can understand this calss after taking him. Tests are a bit hard but everything is fair and the (every other week) essays are very easy and everyone gets 10/10. Hilarious guy and is very enjoyable at 8:30

This doesn't mean it's really easy, but he is always willing to go above and beyond to help you understand things outside class time. He is the best professor i have had so far. He will go out of his way to help any of his students. He is very understanding and helpful. An excellent grader and an extraordinary person.

Class lectures are mostly based on textbook readings, but he applies what the textbook teaches to everyday situations to clarify the concept. I would definitely take him again. Two quizzes, a midterm, and a final. Doesn't take attendance but I wouldn't recommend skipping.

Great professor. Doesn't take attendance, hilarious and engaging (a bit sarcastic), and always explains the material and readings well. 2 exams, 3 quizzes (drops the lowest) and 10% for participation (which is graded leniently). Put the effort in to read all the assigned chapters and cases and take notes and you'll get an A.

This class was my favorite one of the semester. There is a decent amount of homework but you will get a good grade as long as you hand it in. He is an amazing professor who is hilarious and genuinely cares about the wellbeing of his students. I would take any class just to have him as a teacher again.

Cappello is my role model. He is extremely chill and understanding. He has a TA grade everything so unless the TA takes things too seriously you should be fine in terms of grades. He is known to fall asleep during student presentations. Cappello is also notorious with the ladies.

Cappello is the man, take him if you can. He is a great professor and the class is straightforward. There are 3 tests, if you do well on the first two you don't have to take the final. It is very doable.

THE BEST PROFESSOR AT FORDHAM. Take him for Legal Frameworks and Commercial Transactions and you will be set. He cares about all of his students and wants to see you succeed. 2 Midterms and final, if you do well on the midterms you do not need to take the final. And if you don't, the lowest of the three test grades is dropped. An absolute GEM!

Professor Cappello is one of the most intelligent and kindest professors I have had during my time at Fordham. He understands that the class is a core req for Gabelli but really makes an effort to get every student to enjoy the course. You can tell that he cares about his students in and out of the classroom. I literally ran here to write this review after our last class. I will preface by saying this was a 5 week summer course. However, Dennis Cappello is the professor every Gabelli student should dream of. He is understanding for extensions, excuses missed classes, very light-hearted and comical, and he gave NO homework assignments. MUST TAKE

Took Dennis Cappello for Commercial Transactions and Business Law. Quite possibly the most animated and down to earth teacher you'll ever have. I'm Accounting/Finance and this guy made law seem super interesting. Staying on top of class requires a good amount of reading. One midterm, one final. Overall, one of Fordham's gems.

He is an easy grader and gives honest feedback as well. He encourages open discussions in the class and loves to get to know us (he's especially fond of the female students). I LOVE HIM! He is the nicest man ever! Class is very easy, almost always let out early. Quizzes are taken at home. He provides great feedback. Major thing is that he is so flexible with group assignments. When no one in my group did their work he gave an extension on the largest project. I literally love this man. I talked to him for 2 hours once.

Professor Cappello is funny, understanding, and chill. He's a refreshing Professor to have. At the end of the day, he wants to see you do well, engage with the material, and succeed. prof cappello is so kind and knowledgeable about his teachings! he genuinely cares about each student. you have all semester to do the HW assignments & they're graded on completion. exams are take home, you have 1 week to do them, you drop your lowest exam grade (however they are worth a decent chunk of your grade)

GREAT professor for business law. He understands that not everyone there wants to go to law school so he tries to make things as easy as possible while still allowing everyone the opportunity to learn as much as possible. Not sure what else to say but I would trust all the 5 ratings for Cappello he's the best

Dr. Cappello is amazing. He makes every lecture interesting and captivating. It was one of the best classes I have ever had. Your grade consists of 3 parts: homework, midterm, and final exam. Attendance is taken. Class materials directly correlate with the final/midterm. Show up to class, put in the work expected, and you'll do great.

Although course had a lot of homework and papers, it didn't feel like it due to Prof. Cappello. He made sure he gave us enough time to complete things and sometimes gave class time to do them. He is a kind and caring soul who will understand when you have personal problems. It is also nice of him to allow us to leave class early at times.

Professor Cappello is an amazing teacher who genuinely cares about his students. His lectures are engaging, and he provides a lot of flexibility with assignments. I'd highly recommend using Unstuck AI alongside the textbook to excel in this class.

The syllabus might seem intimidating at first, but in reality it's very light work. He's very understanding and caring when it comes to his students and their lives outside of his class. I strongly recommend take his class for ground floor. 2 major group projects, 3 papers and weekly textbook questions online. You do have to pay for the textbook.

Calls you out when you don't know something.

One of the best professors in all of Fordham, comes from a law background so very knowledgeable in the field. Makes every class interesting, not because of the content, but how he interacts with the class in the lectures. Online tests, a lot of weekly homework but it is not that hard to manage. If you have the chance, take him!
