Professor Cole is an outstanding example of what a true teacher should be. He is motivational, inspiring, intelligent and caring. He teaches the material with great insight and clarity. I would highly recommend his classes.

Professor Cole is very intelligent,down to earth, fun, and interesting.If you need to follow guidelines, do not take this class. We get off the subject sometimes, but he encourages freedom of expression and intelligent debate.Must be open-minded to different class atmosphere.He is a must experience!

Mr.cole is an exellent instructor,and i would advise everyone to take his class. The class is very interesting,and he keeps you on your toes.i must say out of all the classes i have taken i enjoyed his the most.The numerous debates made me angry,and they made me smile,and for the most part i learn so much about myself,and others.he truely inspirin

He is a great teacher, can still pass his class even if you only go on the day he passes out the test and the day he collects it.

He teaches with passion but sometimes it comes across more like his own point of view than what we should be studying, all of the answers to the test are in the back of the book (which he wrote)

Definitely kept class interesting -- discussions were intense at times. If you are easily offended, you might not want to his class. I enjoyed his personality, however, and think he gets his students involved. I would definitely take another one of his classes if it fit into my program.

Professor Cole is extremely funny and down to earth. He is very smart & knows what he's talking about. He keeps everything interesting and fairly easy, and is an all around good guy. Definitely one of my favorite teachers that I've ever had.. but if you're easily offended, I wouldn't recommend him.

Best instructor I've had at Owens. Extremely funny. Be prepared to laugh the whole entire class. It is like a movie. he even says's he is just an actor on a stage and he means it.

fun class. he keeps it interesting and assigns no homework whatsoever! tests are easy, he gives the best study guides Ive ever seen. The final is not cumulative.

Prof. Cole is the coolest prof. at Owens! When most of my other prof. where pounding me with work even in the summer, his class was a relaxing break where we mostly talked about everyday stuff. He only required a presentation and a paper on your heritage. He really helped me get through this rough summer.Thank you Prof. Cole

Very fun class. Dr. Cole is a great teacher. Teaches using real-life examples. This class is NOT for the easily-offended. Very easy class if you show up, take notes, read the book and study the study guides for the tests.

He's one of the best teachers to be treasured here at Owens. Very accomodating, no pressure in his class yet he's so smart..He understands students' college life...Owens should keep him here...Keep up the good job!

Everybody who keeps saying that this guy is a liberal is dumb. Hes compleatly for a smaller government. ai felt like I was wasting my time in his class because it was such a joke...but in the End the easy A was worth all my wasted time.

Took Professor Cole a few semesters back. He has an unorthodox way of teaching to relate to young college students. Interesting yet colorful personality. Very laid back and funny. I only wish he made his students accountable for attendance and responsible for the daily reads.

I have really enjoyed his class. I have read some of the previous comments and i hate to say it but you all complain about him not being liberal. Personally, i'm glad that some are offended. Wecome to sociology, you are the social conclict he talks about. And without you, the whole world would get along.

My 1st opinion was a horrible one. I kept coming to class & noticed that he PREFACED his statements by saying he teaches what happens in the REAL WORLD. I'm a 37 Y/O who doesn't drink,smoke,do drugs,get into polotics or like pink floyd. I enjoyed his class & learned a lot. If you attend,STAY,pay attention & get involved,you will too. He's GREAT!

I took this class not knowing to much about it, yes he is a nice guy, funny etc. but for those of you that say you didnt learn anything then you obviously didnt pay attention! I was taking BUS 120 at the same time & learneed almost everything in SOC 101 from Professor Cole that i needed to learn for BUS 120. He DEFINATELY helped me to pass BUS 120!

He is an awesome teacher. This is my third time taking a course of his. He relates everyday issues with every one of his classes. There is never a dull moment. He is the BEST teacher that I've had at Owens.

He is a great teacher.. People will say that he talks to much about sex and drugs, but people lets understand this.. that is what our society is all about these days. So stop hating on him and realize what is happening is what he is teaching. Yes we do use the book in his class.. By now we should all know how to read he should have to read to us!

At first I didn't like him.The second week he answered his phone in class and talked for 15 min.He never did this again.I have since changed my mind.He does get off topic a lot but he keeps me interested.His class is really easy. No homework.If you don't take the time to read the book and go over your notes then you wont learn but will still pass.

Awesome instructors!! Very intelligent truly knows his stuff!!! Test we're take home but that doesn't mean they were super easy either! Come to class, listen to lectures, and takes notes and you'll be fine!!! I can't stress enough how awesome this instructor was I leaned a million new things a day!!! Would definitely recommend& take again!!!!

Hilarious guy, very honest and is not biased at all. Very knowledgable and sees all area of the spectrum while explaining concepts. WOULD HIGHLY RECOMEND

Awesome Professor, not a hard class. Just show up take notes and go home. There were three take home "exams" that were easy with the notes. Really laid back guy and makes a lot of jokes.

If you get offended easily do not take this class!! But if you can put up with his controversial lectures then take the class! it is a guarantee A if you show up and take the exam. Hes a laid back guy who loves to argue. Do not try to argue with him because you are always wrong.

This dude is hilarious. If swearing offends you then this is not the class for you. He really knows his material. If you are late with exams he is pretty lenient. All of the tests are take home open note open book.

He's a very conservative guy, so take that into consideration if that rubs you the wrong way. If you can handle that, he's a hilarious professor who always has something interesting to say.

Had Mr. Cole before, and he still remains the best teacher, classes are very easy, he is entertaining, gives no homework aside from writing a paper, lets you take the exam home, just an enjoyable class to take and an easy A. Didn't use the book.

Professor Cole is a solid choice for a sociology class. He is extremely well versed in all areas of sociology, specifically religion. Cole has strong conservative views and has no issues expressing them but he doesn't push them on his students. Don't take him if you are easily offended, some students stop showing up after the first week.

This Professor is a "Star," and Owens Community College should have more like him. I have personally taken three of his classes and learned so much about Social Problems in the world. A must take class and I highly recommend him.

Dennis is a very laid back professor who clearly has a passion for social issues in the world. He is very free-spirited and typically says what he thinks. He gives very few grades but his exams can be tough if you do not take notes! A lot of his material is covered in class only and can be hard to find online.
