If you have a hard time with math or haven't done it in a while do not take this man. All he does is explain to the class why math is important he very seldom teaches any lessons and when he does they are all online.

I would not recommend him at all. He was not helpful and did not clearly explain the material. He tried to make the class into an online math course which just doesn't work. If you have trouble with math do not take him as a teacher

he's awful. does not use the board like most math teachers. he feels we need to use his math program on the internet. it's easy stuff, but he makes it so hard. do not take him. he has an accent, and is so hard to understand.

He slurrs his words and talks to himself; he goes very fast and laughs when you ask questions; he is smart but doesnt know how to teach. web quizzes suck. you do a lot of worksheets... try to avoid him

The subject is important, however, the profesor is not interresting, his teaching style is inconstistant which cause students to confuse.

Horrible! He laughed at me when I asked questions and was not helpful. My class was only 50 minutes long, and he always show up at least 10 minutes late.a girls house caught fire and she asked if she could make a quiz up and he laughed at her.****.

I had him for a summer course.I could not complete the work and tried to drop it and he wouldn't let me.It was one of the worst experiences that I have ever had at SCSU.I went through the Dean and it was supposed to have been dropped, but I still have an F on my transcript. it is dragging my GPA down. HE IS TERRIBLE AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Too bad a prof. finds greater joy in alienating his students than in educating them. Avoid his class. No one should have to pay to be the recipient of the unnecessary, deprecating remarks he makes, or his inability to explain the subject matter.

Worst class I have ever taken at SCSU. He pretty much relies on the internet to teach his students how to do math. He's never available for extra help. He does not care if his students succeed and is not understanding at all. Don't take this class, especially if you struggle with math.

B-A-D. Knows his stuff, can't teach it. buy the $150 book, never use it. excessively time consuming. He expects you to spend every waking moment doing the stupid online work. VERY unfair. I got to Calc in HS and I'm having trouble in this class. Something is not right here, and I think it's Dennis.

The above comments do not stress the ineptness enough. Also relies too much on technology. The class website not only charges you money in order to view it, but is also poorly designed. The only benefit is the textbook is replaced with an online source.

Quite possibly the worst math "teacher" i have ever had. He flat out told the class it isn't his job to teach.. my question... why isn't it an online class if we aren't getting any instruction. Rude, Lazy, Incompetent. It doesn't matter how smart you are.. if you can't teach, you can't teach. 75% of my class failed.

Took 095 over the summer. Worst professor I have had at SCSU. The online homework took at least 4-5 hours to do everyday after class. As a testament to his incompetence, the online homework was due the day before we were taught the material in class. He told the class daily that we could not think abstractly and were 6 year olds cognitively. Truth.

please do yourself a favor... if for some reason u r like me - math has always been a strong subject yet wind up ignorant enough to think it will be managable after reading bad ratings from lower level courses. THINK AGAIN. everyone was on the verge of failing & each bad grade was our problem. class always ended atleast 7 mins late..

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. You cant understand a word he is saying. When he is attempting to "teach" the class he gets into his own little world and the entire class gets lost! Right now the entire class has a D or below. If you need to pass math do not take his class.

He barely speaks english. It is very hard to understand anything he says. He never actually has lessons just gives out lots of worksheets. we never take notes, and he laughs at you when you ask questions. He makes all his assignments due online and then gives tests and quizzes in class that he grades irrationally. I would recommend against him!!!!!

he is the worst teacher i have had in the history of teachers.he is very rude and uncooperative.he told my class if we cant understand or do his work then we are not ready for college and should go back to high school. his grading system is horrible. he didnt teach me anything. i highly recommend you dont take him!!!

As most other people have said, he does have an accent but honestly it isnt too hard to understand him. With that said, he does very little teaching and depends on the site ALEKS to do most of the teaching. Very confrontational when you ask him something and makes you feel like an idiot. Try to avoid his classes...

Gets mad when you ask questions and never ends up answering them or tells you to shut your mouth. Hasn't been on time more than twice and habitually misses class with no explanation. Huge waste of time, learned nothing, definitely take another teacher. Will say he will do something but wont. This guy is a joke.

I took this professor about 7 years ago and thought he was awful then. I can see he is still at that same status.I couldnt understand his accent and didnt like the way he spoke to his students. he did not explain things clearly at all. I agree with another rater in saying i felt more dumb after leaving his class! Cant believe hes still there.

Worst professor I've ever had. Does not believe in students struggling in math and doesn't care. Doesn't care whether you pass or fail. I asked what I had to do to pass his class and he simply said, "Pass my test". I would say 80% of my class has an F.

Very confusing teacher. Does not know how to teach and assumes you already know the material. Doesn't understand how to answer questions. You basically have to teach yourself the material if you want to pass. Do not take him.

DO NOT TAKE HIM. When asking questions about the subject, he will response with a "What are you, stupid?" kind of answer. He expects you to know the material prior to taking his class. SCSU Tutoring was no help as my tutors could not figure out what this professor was asking in his assignments. Grading is horrible.

BEWARE!!! Online Book he uses is awful and difficult to use & half of what he teaches isn't in there. Test may have material that he never taught or gave examples of. Looses grades ( and there usually your good ones). Takes the entire class to go over home work then tries to teach in the last 10 minutes. Is always late.

Even though his attendance is mandatory, going to class offers me nothing. He fails to break down math problems and makes even the simplest of things seem impossibly difficult. He also is never here for students when they ask for help. He will embarrass you if you ask for help or say something to belittle you. Spare yourself the tears and stress.

Professor Emmett fails to teach students and becomes annoyed when further explanations are requested. He does not allow students to take notes while he is doing example problems, and gives impossibly difficult tests and quizzes that his lectures or homework assignments could never prepare you for. Please start clear of this professor at all costs!

mandatory attendance, doesn't actually teach material well. he makes the simplest things impossible, he doesn't break the material down or even teach the material instead he says "go to the my open math and do that". he's a nice guy, hes impossible to approach and when you do it feels like he talks down. will never ever take him nor ever reccommend

Worst professor I've had. I was out with the flu, emailed him that I would be out and he never got back to me. I had a note from the campus health center when I returned and he said it wasn't good enough, my fault, and I still had to take a test I wasn't prepared for. He laughs every time you ask a question and passes out tests. Very inconsiderate.

I failed his class because of my absences even though I had a valid reason for not being able to attend class. my friend had to jump through hurdles just to withdrawal from his course, dont sign up for any of his classes unless youre prepared to be your own teacher.

I have never felt this way about any educator besides this man. He should not teach. He is a prime example of what tenure does. It fosters laziness, apathy and the like. He demands mandatory attendance but is late himself. He puts material he doesnt teach on exams. He doesnt teach period. Dont take him unless you want to have a W on your trans.

Although the class starts off easy, it is easy because it is simply a review from high school statistics. I was able to get a good grade on the first exam. The material after the first exam, was very difficult to understand. He does not explain the material well enough. There are not review sheets handed out before an exam as well as the final.
