He is a very goofy teacher and makes class fun! He will help you if you are ever lost on anything and doesn't give you too many assignments. I highly recommend taking this guy for collge Alg.

If you need help in his class, just ask, that's what he's there for. Able to use book and notes on tests and even had a take home test. I would say he was an allright teacher, not a bad one. He is also very hilarious.

awesome guy. highly experienced. he really wants the student to learn. Only 3 tests, but 2 are take home.Really funny also, always making the class laugh. best math prof. ive ever had in college. DEFINITLEY TAKE THIS GUY

Gittinger has his own teaching style which makes class more enjoyable and inviting. If you want the best math experience ever Gittinger is definitely the right choice. If I needed more math classes I would definitely take him for every single one hands down....He's the BEST!!!!!!!!!!! ;)

I think this is the best math teacher I have ever had, I actually like math now. I had failed it before and passed his class with a B, I recommend him to anyone who hates math.

He is an awesome guy. He teaches in a way that makes it easy and clear. Not much homework, and he works with you if you need extra help.

Either you love or hate him hes been teaching since the dawn of man or the 70s same difference so you know he knows his**** Id recommend him if you need to catch up on some elemental math before heading off into all the craziness youll never use in life

I showed up to his class and then left right after he took attendence. I studied very little because he lets you use you notes on the test. He is very easy. Get him if you can. He leaves during the test, so you can copy the smart person in the class if you want to. You also get to make corrections to his test.

I took Mr. Gittinger for College Algerbra, and just loved it. The only homework he assigned was optional (for our own benefit) and he made his own book for this class, which only cost $9, instead of the hellish $93 or however much they rob from you. Take him!

I'm really, really bad at math but i was able to get B's in his classes and that's saying alot for me! He always explained everything and sometimes twice if you needed it and we were able to use our notes on tests!

He is the bezt & nice teacher,i really liked his class never knew when semister finished. ONLY LOOSERS AND PEOPLE WHO ARE LAZY WILL GET BAD GRADE.he is really funny you can use any thing you got with you in your test. your homework book , note, calculator any thing you got. very easy class. i made c in his class because i got lazy also. i miss him.

he is a good instructor. i had taken this class twice before and couldnt pass it until i took him. He is good about explaining problems and will repeat himself until u understand it. if it wasnt for him i would never have made it to college algebra.

Did do a lot of talking and "life" lessons. Also would buy us tacos and his only rule was don't bug anyone else. His $11 homemade "book" seemed great, and his teaching seemed like he was taking me beyond the 1314 level, but I had to drop pre-calc. I wish that I would have taken someone more traditional. Nice, but can be harsh and sarcastic too.

Just the right mixture of humor and teaching time. Awesome guy, willing to sit with you through his lunchbreaks until you get it right. Definitely gives you crap if you're habitually late or absent, don't think he doesn't notice. Tests are identical to reviews w/ different #s, open book. Impossible to fail if you pay attention. <3 him.

Dr. Gittenger is very cool, as stated below, he only has one class rule, does tend to go off on tangents, and will stick with you until you understand the material. I took him on flex and am very slow in this subject, but he was able to keep me up with the rest of the class.

I took this course on flex II after 0303. The cool thing about this course is that he actually tries to save you money by making his own text that only costs about $9 at the bookstore, and he brings tacos on test day. pretty awesome.

He is a great teacher!!! I took him in maymester for college agebra. He teaches very well you don't even need to buy a book he has his own for only 9 dollars and it explains the material better than the real book. I would recomend him 100% I got a A!!!

Let's you use notes for test

Great teacher! If you pay attention in class you'll learn. Explains things again and again till you understand. If you're late or talk during class he'll be very sarcastic with you. Only grades are test grades and all tests except for final are take home. His only rule is to not disturb anyone else in class. His stories act as examples to material.

He is a very nice teacher and brings tacos for class, just one problem, if you need help he askes you to ask your peers or go to lab. As a person very cool but as an instructor so so.

great teacher.. still in his class and i love it, although he does get sidetracked and teach us problems that we will not need unless we are "going on to higher math." review for tests are identical to the tests, doesnt require you to complete the 600 minutes in lab, and is really funny!

Dr. G Mathematical Examiner! He "can teach it to ya' but he can't learn it for ya'!" Mr. G. was fantastic. He's not only a magnanimous teacher, but a great mentor/counselor/rolemodel. He's a little skitzo (he'll tell you so himself), but he knows his stuff and he'll do all he can to make sure you know it too. Participate in the class!

Dr. G. is a good teacher. He really makes the difficult concepts easier to understand. He talks alot about his family which can make you feel like your part of the family & he's funny. The test review is very identical to the test. He has his own text book which is only $10. If that isn't enough incentive to take his class, I don't know what is.

I love Mr. Gittinger! He was my favorite teacher so far and he makes his own book so it costs less than $10 which is awesome. If you don't understand something tell him, he is always willing to help. I would take all of my Math classes from him if possible!!!

I loved Dr G, he gave great reviews for tests which were the same as the test. He was really kind and helpful. He uses his own textbook so saves a lot of money.

It's simple, come to class, be on time, pay attention. The first time I took this class with another professor I got a D. I took it again and really applied myself and I a got an A. He gets off subject alot but he's not a bad guy. You have to remember that the class is about you, he's already done what he had to do.

If you do not like this guy you have serious problems. This guy is the ideal way math should be taught. Everything you get out of it is what you put into it, if you get an A on the final, you get an A in the class. I guess if you are still in High School and need a baby sitter G isn't for you. If your grown up he is the perfect teacher!

Mr. G. is has an unusual way of teaching, yes he goes off topic sometimes but if you pay attention you should not have a problem. All test are open note and if you take good notes and do great on tests, this class should be a breeze.

G Dawg is super cool. he is funny and teaches you math that you will actually use in the world. All tests you can use the notes and the book. Also, we usually grade our own assignments and Tests :-D He made the book himself so its only like 14 bucks. You will laugh and have a great time in this class. he really wants every one to get an A.

G dog is the bomb.com! Very sweet man and truely cares about his students. He teaches math that u need in everyday life just listen, do homework and u should make an A in class. I did!

Good class if you need an A in college Algebra. If you are planning on continuing your education I don't recommend taking him. I am not certain his classes will help you at the next level. Super nice guy!

I am not at all good at math and was very scared to walk into a college algebra classroom, but G Dog changed all of that for me. He does not make you feel inferior or stupid. He tries very hard to help you to understand and as long as you make an effort and do the work you will do great in his class.

Mr. G has a passion to teach math. He is different from other math instructors. He is a mathematician. He has a PhD in the subject. He also has a strong passion to help you. He is patient, very easy going and just a genuinely good person. He lets it known that he cares about you. Take his class. You will not regret it.

Prof Gittinger loves his job and loves math. If you are alive in this class you will pass with an A. he gives reviews exactly like the test and you can use notes. Best professor I've ever had, super caring and loves his students. he makes you feel important and you will learn a lot.

I have Dr. Gittinger for philosophy and so far he's been pretty legit. He knows his stuff and the lectures are really interesting. It seems like he knows a little of everything which is really cool. There are some debates that are fun, the only thing is it's kind of a toss up of what you get to debate about. Everything else is cake if you try.

G Dog is awesome. I learned in his class and remembered a lot from HS. Math is not a easy subject for me and his class was easy and he was so helpful. Its a great class for those of you who aren't math majors but if you are then I suggest taking someone else.

G-dog was easy in the sense that you could use your notes on the tests, but he takes off points for minor rounding issues. I would definitely take his class again, his lectures could be somewhat confusing but his math packet (wait to buy, he changed it last minute on us) has every test review with answers. He was very fun as well, would recommend

G dog was the best! I highly recommend! He is so cute and funny. He makes the lessons very clear and easy to learn. He also lets you use notes on tests. I would take him again in a heart beat. Made a 100 as my final grade in his class. Also he sends you the text book to print out so you don't have to buy it.

He is an awesome teacher you will not regret taking this class all you have to do is show up everyday, listen to what he is telling you and you will pass with an "A". Another great thing about taking this math class with this teacher is that he likes to make sure you understand the material before moving on. Take his class you won't regret it!!!!

G-Dog! He was such an awesome professor. He gives the book free to you through email after the first day. His explanation of math is a little off, but w/ the book he gives to you explains it all. He lets you use notes and your devices on tests/quizzes! There are only 5 tests, no homework, he even lets you nap. I'd highly suggest this class, easy A!

G-Dog is extremely kind and caring about his students. All of his tests are open-book and open-notes, and he gave us his textbook for free. You can tell that he knows none of the students want to be there, so he tries to make it easy on them. If you ask him to go more in-depth on something though, his face lights up and he'll happily show you.

You won't regret taking Dr. G his sense of humor is out of this world. About 6 test, but you are able to use notes. impossible to not pass his class unless you really just don't care.

G-Dog is a great at what he does. He has daily assignments, that you d on your own or with peers. He takes one day to teach the content, then hands out a worksheet a day for you to do on your own. I would suggest taking this class as your last for the day. Once you're done you can opt to leave. Tests are exactly like the worksheets and reviews!!

He lets us do group work with our table, if we don't understand a concept. He also allows us to use notes on quizzes and tests. He has entertaining math jokes.

Previous one was done wrong ***If math is your weak subject take this professor. You won't regret it. He truly cares for his students.

Mr. G is the coolest! He provides his own textbook in note packets, which you can use on the tests. No reason NOT to pass his class unless you really are not trying. Make sure you check your email alot though, because that is where he hands out assignments. He does not use Canvas. Class can get boring, but show up and you'll make a good grade.

Dr. G is fantastic! I have received the highest math grade of my life in his class. You get to use your notes on the test, but it's not just that that has helped me to get a good grade. He teaches you really well, he is thorough in answering any questions you have. Also, he provides all of the materials you need for class. He'll print them for $5!!

Mr. G is such a sweet and caring professor. As long as you understand the work assigned, you will pass the test/quizzes with no problem. Not to mention, he lets you use all your notes and past assignments on test. He always has a smile on his face!

Professor Gittinger is amazing! If you struggle in math (like me), then this is THE class for you. Attendance is not mandatory, but the assignments done in class are what you can use on the test (open note), so if you don't go to class then you miss out on test material. Easy A class if you do the work.

hes really old and might not be able at vista much longer. he is a great teacher he explains everything and gives you everything that you need to learn. he'll let you use the notes on the test and quizzes so make sure you have good notes! if you aren't in class you will struggle to teach yourself if you don't know the topic.

EASY CLASS. He lets you use your notes, tests, and quizzes on tests so it's easy to make an A. If you struggle with math, take him. He makes it fun and easy. He prints out and provides the textbook for you!

Pay attention in class and youll do fine. I hate math and its really boring for me but hes a great teacher. He provides a textbook and you wont need to study that much. I would take this professor if you suck at math.

i loved G man, he was a great professor. his class was an easy A and let you use the notes for everything. he wants to teach you things you need to know in real life, which is great, not another math class you'll never use. 10/10 would take again :)

He make the class fun by telling a lot of corny jokes but he really knows his stuff. Don't buy the textbook since he will give it to you in class. He doesn't give lectures everyday so it's up to you if you want to go to his class. However, if you don't understand something use that free time to ask him in how to work the problems.

Mr. G is a great professor to take if you struggle with math. Easy A lets you use all your notes on tests, including the final. If you struggle with math, take this professor. He will break everything down to you so that you can understand.

I loved taking this class. Attendance not mandatory. He shows you how to do the problems at the beginning of class then lets you work. You can stay and work or leave. Only a couple tests, can use notes. Offers extra credit. He teaches math skills you'd use in everyday life. HIGHLY recommend

I've struggled with math since middle school and managed to pass this class with an A! Notes on ALL EXAMS (even finals) One of the nicest professors ever, very patient. Cracks jokes a lot throughout lecture and will post recordings of himself going through the problems. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Professor G is a great person, hes very helpful. If youre not majoring in anything to do with math I highly advise you take this class because its a cake walk, if you want your mathematic credit without all the extra hassle. He gives 4 EZ test in total and that makes up your grade in the class An EZ A for sure and a great chill dude to be around

Professor Gittinger is great! I signed up for a face to face course and due to illness he had to do it via zoom. But he was always accessible to zoom tutoring if needed. Everything is open notes. So long as you do the work and practice the problems it isnt hard.

Professor G is a 76-year-old Vietnam vet. He is a great person and obviously cares for every student. However, if you want to really learn, I'd suggest another professor. Every test is open note and I didn't feel like his lectures were very informative. I liked his class a lot and suggest it if you want easy and aren't great at math.

He's a sweet older gentleman who cracks a lot of jokes. He always makes sure that each student understands the work and does well. Each test is open note as well as the final. This class was honestly a breeze. You just gotta keep track of things and you'll be fine.

He sets you up for success. A bad grade is truly your own doing.

One of the BEST math professors you will ever find. He is truly caring and will go over the material over and over in order to help you learn the test. I loved learning in this class. Go to class, pay attention, do your HW and you will pass with flying colors. I would take his class again 100%.

Laid back Professor; loves to make jokes during class. Gives great notes, but lectures can be difficult to follow, so only recommended if you are able to do self-teaching. Gives you many technology sources to use because he believes that if you will access them in the real world, you can use them here too; good mindset. Great grader & organized.

He's a funny guy. I recommend everyone to take him. You don't have to show up to class but I think everyone should. No retakes on tests. Your camera has to be on.

Dennis is one of the best professors and an even better person at NVC. I was struggling with things outside of the class and we had a private conversation and just talked. Get your work done and you will pass. Easy. He really cares about his students in and out of the class. Words cannot express how much I appreciate this man. Take his class!

The professor uses a unique teaching style, but if you engage with it, the class is manageable. Unstuck study was helpful for test prep. Definitely attend lectures - good for learning.

Class was very easy as long as you complete the work and show up for the tests. Having your camera on was mandatory but not too much of an issue in my opinion. Only graded on 4 tests plus the final so make sure to study for those although the material isn't particularly difficult so honestly just show up and do them.
