He's unclear & unaccessible; class was a waste of my time!

He's helpful if you try hard. If you don't care, neither does he.
a little strange at times, but not bad--doesn't hand back your work very often
Something else. The dumb news pop quizes are a waste of time. Avoid!
Take him if you want the easiest A ever!
I didn't learn a thing and he locked students out of the room if even 1 min late
I have yet to learn anything n regards to Journalism. Its not to bad at first. Don't be late, not even a minute! He will single you out if your late and embarass you.
Be careful, don't be late, and check your student email. He's making sure you're paying attention. Comes off the wrong way, but not a bad guy.
His lectures are extremely boring, and don't get caught talking or else he'll yell at you...*Bad experience* He likes to talk about his attendance policy often, which is also boring....Basically you don't learn JOURNALISM...

Prof. Jeffers is a guy who really rubbed my the wrong way at the beginning of the year. I HATED him. Yet I've come to realize that he actually cares, a great deal, and his heart is in the right place. Very good prof, overall-
Professor Jeffers seems tough, but he's really a softy. Be respectful (don't talk, be late, or use cell phones) & read the articles he assigns, and the class is a breeze. He really wants to help you learn, he just tries to be scary the first few classes.
I thought Jeffers class what great. It's almost like a discussion class. You do a lot of discussion in class in small groups. The discussion topics are fun. He does come off as a hard ass at first, but just be respectful and he'll respect you.
The thing I learned the most in this class is to be very respectful, punctual, and communicative. He inadvertly shows you how be more professional.
He really has a good teaching style. Group work and discussions give you more knowledge in the subjects than textbooks, which is why he doesnt use them. be respectful, go to class and you will do fine, no tests either! Lots of fun
BORING!!!!!!!!!
Be respectful, go to class, no talking, no excuses. But there are also no tests and homework is usually printing articles. He's a good guy, very kind and has our best interest in mind. He cares about our careers and our future. Respect him for that alone.
Awesome class...NO TEXTBOOK! NO TESTS! LITTLE HOMEWORK (but very easy) Great guy...reminds me of Mr. Garrison (south park) Very intelligent, knows what he's talkin about...open to much discussion...loves to work in groups! Highly recommended class!
Very easy class. If you show up and do the work it's an easy A and will satisfy your 3B UP requirement. No textbook needed. Lots of discussion if you like that.
Easy "A". No tests. Lots of group work/discussion, no text. Projects are enjoyable. Looks kind of like a turtle or Mr. Garrison. Drops names, but is overall a really good teacher.

Easy class but he is boring and don't give clear directions. Don't be late, talk, or sleep in class. He will put you on front and make you stand up.
Boring! Lectures!but if you're into Jrn. This prof will help you out. Lots of group work (every day)Discussions might be interesting if people actually were interested in the subj(but most don't seem to care)Easy A as long as you attend & check email alot
I dunno what you guys are talking about. Dr. Jeffers is an awesome teacher... especially if you are looking for an easy class. All you have to do is come to class and you are guaranteed an A... Participate and you will have no problem with this class.
EASY EASY EASY....no tests or books! Boring but if you go to class you WILL get an A! Good UP to take.
All you have to do to get an A in this class is show up, pretend to listen, and write a bunch of jibberish on ur homework or projects. Also no textbooks, which means no in depth reading. Only thing is the guy doesn't explain projects much at all.
Go to class and do the stuff that takes hardly any brain power to do and you'll get an A. He talks too much but can be interesting sometimes.
easy a, no real work required at all. no book, no exam, a few projects and a couple individual things. doesnt require much time/attention. hes pretty boring and i sometimes wonder how much im actually learning, but it was easy.
Easy A, lots of in class group work, a couple of projects. He's like a dirty Mr. Rogers. Goes on and on and on about the importance of the internet and how it all started because of ****graphy. A monkey with an email account would do alright.
easiest class ever no books no tests, just show up and own a printer and youll get an a
I didn't learn a single thing. Easy A though. Just a complete waste of time. I think he just likes to hear himself talk but half the time he makes no real sense.
Easiest class at CMU. Take it for your UP. U do literally nothing but write your name on a sheet of paper and hand it in every day and get points for it. It's kinda like an attendence sheet with sentences about nothing on it. Go to class = A
A very good teacher, also a very easy class to get an A in. All you haave to do is go to the class, and you'll get an A for sure.
As an intro to a journalism major and a UP, this is a great class! You HAVE to go to class though, but its worth the points, so dont complain when you're just lazy! It serves the purpose of the description so its not a waste of time...Mostly ALL group work, and no book! TAKE JEFFERS!
Sooo easy. I got an A. Go to class, do group projects, you'll do great. It's kind of interesting, and it's a UP. Plus there isn't a text!
I got through the class.
easily put... ben stein's little brother
i've only had 3 classes go to the full time. most classes are 45 mins. although extremely boring, to the point of tears, going to class is worth it just to get the points and the a.
Go to class, you work in groups, there is no text...you'll get an A :) Only one or two lectures were realllly boring, the rest were bearable, and who can complain about a class being this easy?! And Jeffers is a nice guy. Dont expect to get away with ANY absenses though, not even if your mom dies :/
very easy class. but you must go every time. the best class to take for your U.P. i missed one class and i ended up with a B+. so if you are able to make it to a class every time and never take a test, you are gonna get an A for sure.
Sooo boring, but an easy "A"
kinda boring and pointless at times, but EASY. there is no book and no tests... BUT you HAVE to go to class everytime because you have a 10-20 assignment thats due everyday almost, but they aren't hard. easy easy easy... just go
This is the easiest A anyone can get. If you show up, you get credit and if you don't show up you lose credit. There are no tests or finals and as you long as you go, you'll get an A.
Awsome class!!! Esay A...if you go to class everyday. No tests or final!! Take him. Not hard at all
This class was EXTREMELY easy - take it if you're good about attendance, you just need to go to earn an "A". However, he is a jerk at times, and absolutely will not be helpful to you if you have any questions. He is unfair when it comes to grading- I.E. excused( as in DR's note) means nothing to him
Easy A if you come to class, and class always got out early. He is willing to meet with students, especially to sign journalism majors. Sometimes it can be bit boring, but usually class is interesting. He also changes course topics semester to semester to keep the course contemporary, & no textbook.
easiest college class you'll ever take and its a UP, take this class!
Most people think he's a jerk, but he's actually nice, and helps out a lot. His class is a guaranteed A if you show up and do the very few home assignments he has you do. All that's really required is to know a little bit about current events, but that's nothing. Usually has interesting things to talk about, so no need for the pillow. Good choice.
Easy, but boring. Think Ben Stein Teaches Journalism.
I actually liked this class. It was extreme boring at times, but it's an automatic A if you go to class. On top of that, he really does care about students and where they're going and will help you. Class rarely went the full length of time, which was really nice. Definately take JRN 101 with Jeffers for the easy A and you might learn a thing or 2
Go to class and get an A simple as that.
Very awesome class, easy A if you attend each class. Attendance is required, no absence is excused, even if your parents die (he says this at the very beginning of class). I really enjoyed his lectures, but there is a lot of group work which can be tiresome. He really looks and sounds like Ben Stein!!! Recommended!!!
Awesome guy, he knows alot and has been around. He mainly just wants to get concepts out there for you to think about. Throughout the whole course he wants you to pay attention to any form of the news media. If you dont get an A in his class you need to quit college now and go home.
Go to class. Write your name on a piece of paper. Listen to his lecture that you don't have to take notes on. Turn in your piece of paper. Get an A.
Love this class, love this prof! He is the nicest teacher I have had in college. Come to class and don't be late. The moving chairs around is a pain, but he's so good about out of class assignments not being a pain to do. I'm a commuter who gives props to the class.
Very easy class. NO textbook needed. Go to class, listen, don't take notes, cause he won't let you.. haha. A lot of group work which gets old, , but all you have to do is show up, and take current event quizzes once a week. Sometimes are hard, most of the time not. DO NOT SHOW UP LATE. He will humiliate you if you do. haha.. Dont talk either!
If you like feeling like you're in kindergarten, take this class. He spent half an hour on our first day reiterating the fact that there ARE NO EXCUSED ABSENCES. Great, how about teaching us something? I haven't learned anything in that class, except how to pick up a newspaper, turn on a TV, and print articles off the internet.
This guy is like a drill instructor on morphine. He is straight forward with what is to be done in his class. Easy assignments, easy group discussions, and current event quizzes where he gives you half points just for guessing. Go to class, watch TV, get an A.
This was my easiest class all semester. He teaches in a unique way from all other profs. No note taking is allowed, attendence is HUGE, quizzes here and there with only one question, and group discussions. It is a good class to learn about whats going on and get to interact with fellow classmates. He is an awsome professor!!
Just going to class and physically being there guarantee's you an A+. You don't have to take notes, study, or even show any signs of being alive, just show up and you got your A, not a good class for those that don't like to go!!
D-Jeff is the man. This is seriously the easiest class I have ever had. I highly recommend him for JRN 101 and JRN 101 as a UP class. He really knows his stuff and it really is true you just need to show up and listen to him and you will get an A, plus he will not let you take notes in his class so that is a nice bonus to taking this class.
Takes attendance most of the time, lots of group discussion. Homework oncec or twice, ever.
i wanted to drop the class after the first week because he seemed like a jerk, but he lightens up once you learn how he is. attendance is very important, if you miss a class you miss points that cant be made up. he never keeps you the whole time, and had a lot of out of class assignments during class time! i would definitely take him :)
This class is so easy, yet as a Journalism major/minor you won't want to take him (unless you really don't want to learn anything.). All you do is discuss all class, which usually doesn't last very long, and do a current events quiz every now and then. Good for a university Program requirement, bad for a major/minor in journalism.
I think he means well, but he's just not very interesting... this class is simply just an easy "A" if you go to class, and he knows it. Basically, you show up, take a t/f quiz on sports or current events, and you get your points... class never runs the whole time, and usually only lasts for about a half hour...Good UP. Boring prof.
I am an IPR major, JRN & COM minor and this class was easy, but dumb. I learned nothing. It is a waste of a JRN major/minor's time and money. Does he remind you of the Visine clear eyes guy, or what? He talks like him too. If you want an easy UP, take it.
I loved this class and I think Professor Jeffer's has got to be my favorita professor ever. I'm sad I can't take this class again, haha.
Attending class is the only way to get points. No note taking allowed. No tests, no final exam. Only current-event quizzes and small-group discussions. The five assignments given required you to stay at home and do them during class time (awesome). Boring though. Missed 1 class, lost 1 paper, and got some quizzes wrong and got a B. I was unlucky.
This class is an easy A if you GO TO CLASS. It is absolutely mandatory to go to class. Each class contains about 65 easy points. He is an extremely helpful prof and really wants his students to succeed.
Go to class for some current events quizzes and a few participation things. No exams. I guessed on every single current events quiz and got each one right. Even if you're wrong you get half credit for being there. Very easy class if you don't mind going.
Great class. He is really authoritarian and strict, but stuff gets done. I am learning a lot of genuinely useful things in this class, and getting a great grade. A lot of people don't like all the rules, but they are pretty simple to follow. All in all a great teacher.
This class is probably the easiest "A" at Central. The class consists of twenty-point, one-question T/F quizzes on either current events or what color shirt Jeffers is wearing. There are also a lot of group "discussions" which mainly entail each group answering one or two questions. Attendance is absolutely mandatory.
Really easy "A" class, but requires attendance nearly every day. Also requires watching/reading the news. I missed one day, got one quiz wrong, and came out with a ninety six percent. If you don't mind going to class, this is a good one to take.
A very easy class. As long as you attend class, you get 100%. The quizzes are simple and the class discussions are a breeze. Volunteer to be a group leader once and you're golden.
EASY! ATTENDANCE MANDATORY THOUGH! There were no tests, so every day we had a "current events quiz" which consisted of one simple true or false question. Those were pretty much the only grades, so you have to go to class to earn the points. We had a couple assignments out of class, but he would normally cancel class when he assigned those though!
This guy is so annoying. This is the easiest "A" ever though. You can miss maybe two classes. He's super strict and kind of makes people feel dumb. He embarasses you if you come in late or are texting. But come to class on time and don't "multi-task" and this class will be a breeze.
Loved the class! He states the rules on the very first day. If you miss class a lot, you're dead. If you text in class, you're embarassed. BUT, I've never had that problem. No tests at all. A lot of group work and easy current event quizzes. You have a lot of out-of-class labs, which are a nice break. I would suggest anyone to take this class!
everyone at central should take a dennis jeffers class. easy A, easy quizzes (consists of 1 question and you get points even if you get it wrong), easy group work, easy out of class assignments. what else can you ask for?
Come to class EVERY TIME and you'll be sure to get an A. This guy is intelligent so listen up. Put everything away during the class or prepare to be publicly humiliated.
Go to class. Be respectful. Participate. And DO NOT use your phone and there is no humanly way possible you will get anything but an A.
No tests. No notes. No final. Like everyone already said, just show up and you'll get an A, and he actually gives some helpful advice for college and whatnot.
While this class was extremely easy I was able to take stuff away from it... more about getting through college and life after college, but also some aspects of the mass media. There is no book, almost daily current event quizes, and no tests. I will note, however, if you are passionate about journalism in general this is NOT a class for you!
This is the easiest class i have ever seen. If u wanna get an A without any exams or homework, just go ahead. All grades comes from a true or false quiz and in class discussion. By the way, the answer for the quiz is always TRUE.
Best class ever. show up, read freep.com, and it helps if you show you're Republican and bam you've got an A. He's the coolest guy I've ever met- sarcastic cruel humor. Don't be late.
The class is very easy, he has no real attendance policy but there are attendance quizzes and assignments that you pretty much ace as long as you go. He as a teacher however is quite rude and doesn't really care if you do well or not. He will not compromise on anything! Also he will make you look like a jackass if you give him the opportunity
Jeffers is awesome! The class is so easy yet very informational. You learn a lot about the real world and college. Easy one question quizzes at beginning of class so always be there. Just don't ever be late or have anything out on your desk and don't text. Easy A :-)
Best teacher i have ever had. Always came out of class knowing something new. If you can show up to class you can get an A. Don't text, don't fall asleep, and don't be late or be ready to be embarressed. But seriously, this class is easy and this teacher is one of the best.
Easy class but hes slightly condescending. Class is 100 percent mandatory. I had literally two funerals and strep throat all in the same week, all with documentation, and he didnt let me make up the points in the missed classes because "whos to say you were even close with your uncle."
