to sume it all up in one word, INCREDIBLE. totally wicked. all you have to do is show up and answer his...interesting questions on the whitebord and the sit down. really, thats it.

He is a laid back teacher for sure. Highlights test questions in the book for you, which makes it pretty impossible to fail unless you don't do anything.

And yes Mr. Jirkovsky, I have cheated on a test (prior to this class), stolen software, and technically been "detained". Thank you for helping me discover how horrible I really am. :-)

He is a very cool teacher I would recommend him to any student everyone should take his class.

Very good teacher, just teaches the basics and does it well. You won't come away from this class being a master with computers, but it will give you a good introduction. Easy class, and fun. I'd suggest this class to others if they have a couple of hard classes in a semester but want more hours.

Extremely easy to follow. Attendance is mandatory but he uses blogs to record it. Class lectures are to the point and interesting. Would take him again if class was available.

Great teacher. Very laid back, almost intimidating. No tollorence for texting, one girl was and he called her out and kept bringing up the fact her career would only be texting. Very nice guy, though he likes to poke at people and smack them with books. Very Clear, highly recommended just don't be too intimidated! You'll warm up.

Easy class! You do need to come to class though because it's good to listen to lectures because he gives you potential test questions. I had fun, and wasn't at all interested to begin with. Projects were reinforcing of concepts, and the computer exercises were boring, but kind of interesting.

Taken 2 eight-week internet course with him. These were by far the best classes I've taken online. He's very good about posting due dates and announcements. Just do your assignments poignantly and make sure to hit the word minimum and you will do well. I recommend him to everyone.

He is a straight forward teacher. He gives his students reasonable deadlines and lets you leave when lecture is done. I would recommend this course! The tests are open book!

Not a hard online class, and the exams can be taken online too if you take this class online. He was really reasonable.

Such an easy A class. The discussion boards are all opinion, labs can be redone as many times as you want, and tests can be taken online at home. He lets students work as far ahead as they want, and will help you out with any problems. My tests always kicked me out of BB, and he always reset them. He has a great sense of humor too!

Allowed us to work at our own speed and attendance wasn't mandatory as long as you kept up with online work. Nice guy who is willing to help if you have any questions.

Took the online class. Some people had trouble with the class, but I thought it was pretty easy. He lets you work ahead so you could finish the class in one month (I took and 8 week class). Read over his instructions and follow them, don't ask silly questions and get on his bad side. Don't fall behind, work ahead.

The lecture IS the homework. Homework is on a program on the computer that you DO have to buy, but he does the homework with you as his lecture so you kill two birds with one stone. There's almost no reason NOT to get at least a 95% in this class. Really helpful, and likes to pick on you, but more so just to be funny. He's a really great teacher

Very good instructor. But you must read through the course platform to succeed. Does not give answers but points you in the right direction. SAM 2013 is awful

I loved that fact that all assignments were open from the start so I could work ahead. Assignments from book are not mandatory but if you don't turn them in you will lose points off final project for that chapter so do the projects since they are informative and helpful overall. A great teacher who is helpful & quick to and answer questions.

The whole class was projects, which were all available & you could do at your own pace. Lectures are unnecessary & he mostly just hung out & answered questions. The online grading system was iffy, but he had no problem adjusting grades once you showed the error. Mr. J. has a very dry humor & banters a lot. Very easy to joke with & get along with

The most easiest class, Dennis is hilarious, jokes with the students, and primarily shows youtube videos of what he is talking about. It usually goes read 2-3 chapters and take 25 question quiz. The quiz has almost nothing to do with reading so make sure to google or quizlet. Overall awesome guy keep up and do the work and create html page is final

The best teacher ever. I know nothing of computers and I took his class for 3 weeks and wanted to change my degree! Maybe not seriously but he helped me understand so well. I've already learned SO MUCH and we're only halfway done with the semester!

This class was nearly self-taught. The SAM program, while annoying (and he understands that!), is basically a "follow these steps and you'll be fine" thing. Jirkovsky didn't lecture so much as be available for questions. He's got a very dry, cynical humor, and if he teases you, he likes you. Work in groups with your classmates and you'll Ace!

Lots of lectures, dry sense of humor. Goes the full time but makes it entertaining. DO NOT TEXT IN CLASS. Homework for every class.

He was awesome. Most of my homework was late, so I talked to him and he let me turn everything in for full points at the end of the semester. I took this class Summer 2016 and he still remembers me. He is really funny. He is sarcastic and has a dry sense of humor. He shows a lot of videos.

Great class. You get to take apart a computer and put it back together. Minimal supervision but great guidance. Would consider changing my major to CS

Super funny, always a joy to come to his class. I highly recommend if you're considering taking a class that he offers. He will help if you need it, he also walks the class through the homework assignment. You don't need a book, he provides it. You have to purchase "SAM" but you can't slack! it may be easy but he doesn't tolerate late work!

Doesn't actually grade stuff, give 100% for everything. Do take his class to pass without learning anything.

Definitely in the top-3 best professors I've ever had, and a solid 1st for an online course instructor (something otherwise good professors are terrible at) and I've taken a lot of online courses. He does not waste your time with written exams for project-based courses, which I really appreciate. Her lab and instruction material are top-notch!

professor Dennis Jirkovsky is understanding and she does have lots of work for you to do but it is not hard and she gives you a lot of time to do your work. I took her for CSIS128 online I would definitely take her again. She is reasonable when it comes to the assignments she gives to her students.

Dennis worked very hard to get the new Cengage course platform to work with our class. I know he personally called Cengage about my issues and even had the Cengage rep available for questions. He sincerely wanted the class and his students to be successful.

Good communication. Several emails each week.

Very involved in class. Immediate responses within 24 hours everyday. Understands Cengage has a lot of issues.

Good teacher-Tough class. Lots of programming Cengage is a real problem but professor knows it.

Dennis is an amazing Professor! I've taken three different classes from him and only one of them was a degree requirement. He's hilarious, not PC at all, and really cares about his student's success. Do the work and you'll pass the class. 10/10 would recommend to anyone needing any of the courses he teaches!

I prefer to take classes in person, but Dennis makes online courses relatively painless. The Cengage platform that the work is completed through is buggy and not super student-user friendly, but he knows that and will work with his students to get through any hiccups.

He said he gets paid whether you pass or not but he wants you to pass. Stated we should be taking his attendance as he is the one paid.

His class is really easy. I had his class twice a week and the second class was optional and used as office hours. If you do the assignments before the office hours he will show you exactly what you need to do on assignments if youre stuck. Pretty nice guy overall. Hes pretty lenient and has given students extensions bc they had computer issues

Professor Jirkovsky was available outside of class. He would take your program and evaluate your mistakes. BUT you had to at least give each program a try. No help if you did try first.

Enjoyed the online class. Difficult concepts immediately explained. All assignments opened at once. Cengage needs work but Dr. Jirkovsky did well in understanding.

He helped when I got stuck on some of the homework assignments. Over all a nice guy. A bit strict, but easy class. He was usually on-time with grades.

This class was pretty easy and I liked learning about all the different softwares. Diving deeper into them and using the little tools you can use in there will be helpful along the line. The grades you get come back automatically so you know what your grade is. You can do all the work ahead of time and finish the course early.

I liked his class as it got into actually opening a PC and taking it apart.

Professor Jirkovsky was helpful when I got stuck on homework. Cengage has issues, but he works with students to navigate them. unstuck study was a lifesaver for study prep.

Uses automated material the right way and is very helpful when you need help. Though should take advantage of more of the automated material in his courses. Simply a good professor.

Very simple structure to the semester. Most lectures are done by YouTube Videos. Nice gentleman. Easy to get along with.
