Dr. Bideshi is a wonderful teacher. He cares so much about the students and wants them to succeed. I graduated a year ago and I still go back to visit him. Seriously take any of his classes!
The best professor that one could ever want especially in the field of Biology. He was tough, but taught things in a way that was easy to understand and remember. He's also very willing to provide help even after his office hours which is great when you have a busy schedule!
I loved this class!Bideshi is so crazy sometimes but he is very helpful!Whatever you do don't miss class or you'll be lost!
This hard is hard and sometimes unclear. He is a very smart guy, but he is not a very good teacher. He teaches you at his level of learning and doesnt tone it down
Bideshi is extremely smart. He is willing to go above and beyond so that you'll succeed. The class is hard-you do have to study but, he tells you exactly what you'll be tested on eventhough it's not the way you might have imagined it being on the test. By far the best teacher I've had at CBU.
I had him for microbiology. He was really tough, but he knew the material very well and wanted to make sure we knew it as well. I'd take his class again if I had to, but I'm in the nursing program now...
Dr Bideshi is an AWESOME teacher, in fact, one of my favorites at CBU. Although some people say they have difficulty understanding him, I beg to differ. He is caring and willing to make time for you--VERY personable. His tests are a bit hard because the way the material is flipped around--you'll see! lol And beware true & false questions! :) Study
Love Bideshi! Beware of his tests but he drops one or two at the end and may curve the class. He is too intelligent for his own good sometimes and will go too fast but if you go to his office he will explain things to you one on one.
Toughest teacher ever; Smart, caring
Bideshi is the best and toughest professor CBU has. He is also the nicest and most caring.. and funniest. If you go to his office hours and are lucky enough to be in his lab, he will remember your name. Don't be afraid to make jokes with him... they will be much appreciated because a lot of people find him intimidating even though he isn't. my fav!
Dr. Bideshi is by far the best professor I have ever had the pleasure of having. He is very sweet and personable all the time. He is always willing to take time out and help you, and will even make an effort to know your name out of hundreds of students. Don't be intimidated by him! I consider him a great friend.. and his looks don't hurt either ;)
Made very complex things easy to understand and immensely interesting. Brilliant professor who could be doing a lot of other things than teaching
He was really funny. Since it was an accelerated course its really important to attend all sessions. Make sure you take notes. There aren't any homework assignments so make sure you go on the field trip(really fun!)for the presentation, give it a lot of effort and you need to study for the test. Those are the only 3 assignments. good luck!
Dr. Bideshi is a great professor, but his tests are rough! He is always willing to help you, anytime. He also grades on a very generous curve. Love Bideshi
I took Bideshi for Marine Science which was fun because of the Catalina trip. If you study and put in the effort you'll get an A, but you have to be able to teach yourself the material. A lot of what was on the exams were not covered in class. His powerpoints weren't very helpful either. But the class was fun because of the field trip.
AMAZING PROFESSOR!!! YOU WILL LEARN MORE THAN YOU EVER THOUGHT YOU COULD. AND IT MAY BE PAINFUL BUT YOUWILL BE THE BETTER FOR IT. EXTREMELY HELPFUL. INCREDIBLY KNOWLEDGABLE, PATIENT, KIND, AND EASILY APPROACHABLE...ONCE YOU GET TO KNOW HIM. LOVE HIS CLASS AND WISH HE TAUGHT MORE CLASSES AT CBU! DON"T BE INTIMIDATED BY HIM. HS A GENEROUS PERSON.
I had him for BIO205 (human micro) and BIO163 (anatomy and physiology 2nd semester) A great communicator! Knows his stuff well. Sometimes funny especially when he speaks with his accent. How does someone know so much? Be prepared to learn. Attend ALL his lecture. You will get behind if you don't, and you will realize that in the first week alone.
took him for Cell & Molec..learned SO MUCH in this class than any other class at CBU. learned to analyze text instead of memorizing it for exams. Lectures were very interesting and VERY informative, test are VERY HARD, but he believes in his students and will encourage and help you to do great!
definitely one of the hardest teachers at CBU, but also one of the best. His class is extremely time consuming, you pretty much have to record every lecture and study for hours to receive an A in the class. Goes extremely fast and tests are brutal, but you learn a ton.
This class was HARD. I had to work REALLY hard to get a good grade in this class. But Bideshi is a great teacher, and I am choosing to take him for A&P 2 next semester even though his tests are the hardest I've taken in my entire life.
He is tough, he expects you to know your stuff, however at the end of the semester he puts it all into perspective for you and you realize how amazing of a professor he is
Awesome Professor!
He is a really funny and easy going professor. He helps you as much as he can and responds to your emails really quick. The tests are easy if you put effort in studying and the field trip is SUPER FUN! No homework, you have only 2 tests, a ppt presentation and the field trip. Easiest class to take for your GE Science + lab.
HAD DR. BIDESHI FOR PA SCHOOL MICROBIOLOGY. HE IS AN EXCELLENT PROFESSOR. THE MATERIAL HE COVERED FOR US WAS INTERESTING AND DETAILED. THE EXAMS WERE FAIR, BUT IT'S NECESSARY TO HAVE A VERY GOOD GRASP OF THE MATERIAL IN ORDER TO MAKE AN A. HE REALLY CARES, AND HAS A GREAT PERSPECTIVE. WE WERE TAUGHT WHAT WE MAY SEE HERE OR AROUND THE GLOBE.
Don't miss a single class. Talks so fast, even with printed out slides its hard to keep up. I've already graduated college and trying to get into a master's program that requires Dr. B's class. SUPER HARD! Really praying for the grading curve I heard about. Really nice guy, but I'm still trying to see why everyone "loves" him.
Dr. B is a wonderful man of God! Microbiology contains a lot of information (which does not make him a bad teacher), so don't think the class will be an easy A. He does curve and drop significantly which helps! Make sure to study hard, attend ALL lectures and make his class your #1 priority. Review your PowerPoints and do well on those quizzes! :)
Professor Bideshi is a very great guy! His class is very challenging and does require MANY hours of studying to receive an "A." Exams are very detailed so you need to know your material very well. Put in a lot of effort and time for this class
Dr. Bideshi is a great profesor. He is passionate about what he teaches which makes his class interesting and captivating. This was and is still my favorite class, ever. You have to work very hard but he offers you all of the tools that you need to succeed in his class. I recommend recording his lectures as well.
Very good teacher, clear on what he wants/expects from you. However a hard class. Quiz & test questions can be tricky. This is a class I recommend you DO NOT cram study for. Study bits of information learned every day. He does drop low test scores & uses a curve!
Dr. Bideshi is both an amazing professor and a hard micro professor. Because of the amount of material that you must learn, it's best to study every day. His tests are very difficult, but if you put your all into this class it's definitely possible to come out with an A.
Definitely the most challenging course in the Bio curriculum here at cbu. He's an awesome professor and is very generous with his grading compared to what you may have heard. Start studying early so your not overwhelmed at exam time. Study groups will be to your advantage.
He is a nice guy, really wants you to understand the material. He encourages studying 2+ hours a day for his class, but I did that and more and still earned a C (a B- after the curve). My issue with him is he is very full of himself, puts his own quotes on his syllabus', and I have a feeling he writes his own reviews on here.
Oh Bideshi. barely made it out alive. mainly bc I was taking both Microbiology & A&P1 at the same time along with labs of course as well as 3 other classes, ( I died daily) however, I loved the class. print & study the slides thoroughly u don't need the book bring those to class to fill in bc he talks fast & record him. You'll do good!
Dr. Bideshi is my favorite professor at CBU. This is a tough course but with the right interest and willingness to put in effort you can get an A. He drops quizzes and an exam at the end of the semester so he definitely helps with your grade. He is such an awesome and funny professor, I would take him again in a heartbeat!
Bideshi is a great professor who really knows the material well! His A&P2 class is very hard, just like his Micro class. His tests are the hardest I've ever taken because they really force you to study a LOT and to use critical thinking. He is also very generous. He has some haters, but those people don't know what they're talking about!
AWFUL! Bideshi makes passing impossible because he refuses to give students an outline or idea of what he expects students to know for tests and quizzes. He tells students to know "everything" and half of the stuff you cram for isn't even on the exams. Lab was a waste of time and I learned absolutely NOTHING. Bideshi lost my exam so I got no credit
Had him for Human Micro this semester, he is crazy hard but his powerpoints are easy to follow and he is great at explaining... MAKE SURE YOU STUDY!
The best professor I have ever had! He truly cares about his students and challenges them to challenge themselves. If you really want to get something out of the class, you will. Perhaps you'll learn more about yourself than anything else. His cellular and molecular biology class changed the way I study and see the world.
Dr. Bideshi is really helpful, and his lectures are very interesting. His tests are also very straight - forward as far as the questions he asks. Focus on the slides he gives you and you'll do well!
It is quite ridiculous reading that he is not helpful, not clear etc. I recieved an A in Micro and A&P II with him. Three tips to recieve an A? 1. READ THE SLIDES (underline the points he repeats, he tells you what is important.) 2. GET READY TO STUDY 3. Go into his office hrs. Almost everyday of the week he has them? GO IN! HE WANTS TO
Bideshi is an incredible professor. If you are apart of any science at CBU you will probably get him, so if you're reading this, here's more of a pep talk rather than a take him or don't take him because if you're reading this you probably have to. His lectures are very clear so if you pay attention you'll do fine. STUDY STUDY STUDY. Lab is tough.
Avoid at all costs
Bideshi is a great teacher, Anatomy 2 is just a tough class. He gives many opportunities to raise your grade by dropping tests, quizzes, giving an optional exam and half of the final is take home. Lab requires a lot of studying but is basic. Study daily, it'll make it easier or its hard to study for quizzes, but overall he made this subject so fun.
Bideshi is a great professor.
Had him for both BIO163 and BIO205. Phenomenal professor, cares deeply for his students especially at the end of the semester when he shares encouraging words to push through. Tests are difficult, always spend up to the last second studying. Lecture go by fast but he points out what he wants you to know. Curves well for all.
He's awesome. Just a touch class. Points out what he wants you to know.
One of the worst professors I've ever had. He tells you to study 2 hours a day to do well, I did this and received C's and D's on all of my exams. Tests you on information that is not in the powerpoint and doesn't care that the test averages are 60%'s. He's incredibly unorganized and his powerpoint's are a disaster. Brilliant man, AWFUL teacher.
Arrogant, gives ridiculously hard exams, starts new chapters before giving exams on the previous ones, and when his "study guides" tell you the bulk of the exam is on one thing, DON'T BELIEVE IT. Most of the time it's a flat out lie. Study EVERYTHING and make this class your #1 priority. Although I did that and still couldn't pass a single exam.
Generally respected. Lectures are very content heavy and slides are hard to follow at times. Will tell you which slides are important but when it's every other slide on an 80+ slide presentation that adds up. Much of the marked slides contents isn't seen again. You'll cram info that wasn't even tested on and fail on stuff that wasn't mentioned.
He doesn't prepare you for his exams. His exams are all 10 years old and they are riddled with spelling errors and duplicates, but the worst part about them is that the wording usedis completely different from the ppts. He always says, "If you study the ppts it should be fairly easy for you." I memorized each slide on every ppt and still got Cs
This is the toughest class I had so far. Had him for nursing microbiology too. Mr. Bideshi knows his material very well. I have learned more than I care to know. Don't miss class, even one lecture. Read the book, but pay attention to his lecture and use Powerpoint as a guide. Watch out for those true and false ones.
Dr. Bideshi is an awesome professor. He wants all students to succeed. But expects students to put in their time to get good grades, The course is hard but if you study his slides and take good notes during his lecture you should do OK. Best class though. I learned a whole lot about physiology.
Bideshi is a respectable guy. He goes fast through slides and the exams are hard. You may have a low score, but DON'T WORRY. He will save your grade at the end by dropping tests and quizzes and giving an optional exam and take home exam. Lab is basic. That will also help your grade tremendously. Don't stress during the semester! You will pass!
Not the best professor.
Toughest class yet. But I learned so much. I liked the grading scheme at the end, but don't count on it. He expects a lot form students and wants to make sure we are well prepared for the Nursing program. The class isn't for the faint at heart. You will be challenged. Attend all lectures.
Study, that is all you need. The tests are a bit difficult, especially because they were mostly T or F questions which I did not like because some threw you off. Multiple choice questions were no better though. You just need to know your stuff to do good. I didn't read the book, just ppt's but I know I would have got an A if I did.
Had him for A&P 2 and I can't say it was a walk in the park. Thought his "study every day for two hours" lecture was bluff but I did it and it actually improved my grade. Study as diligently as you could and you'll do fine. Also beware of true or false quizzes!
Bideshi is a great professor and I learned a lot in his class. By far the hardest class I've ever taken, though. I would start studying for his exams a week in advance and devote hours to memorizing his slides. But, he helps out at the end of the semester by giving you optional exams to boost your grade. A good but VERY hard class.
He has a lecture every class and goes quickly through the material which makes it harder to understand. He gives only quizzes and exams so if you are hoping to boost your grades by doing homework think again. The things he tells you to not worry about knowing usually are the things you are quizzed on. Also I bought a $200 book that has no use.
Be ready to work, this class absoluting separates the strong from weak. Most students are nursing majors for BIO-205. You have to be passionate about nursing to pass. Fair about his grading, he drops the 3 lowest Quizzes and gives a optional exam based on Quizzes. Honestly if you don't pass you shouldn't be a nurse, nursing school is harder.
I've taken Bideshi for two classes and don't regret my choice either time. His class is always HARD, but he tells you what to study. If you go to his office, he will tell you nothing you don't already know, so don't expect answers if you go to his office. He gives quizzes every week, but it helps your grade. Be ready to work hard.
I took Bideshi's class as a first semester freshman and it was by far the hardest class I have ever taken but I learned so much. I thought I was going to fail half way through and almost dropped, but towards the end of the semester I realized that he pushes his students extremely hard but then at the end he drops so much so it all works in the end!
By homework, I mean constantly reviewing the powerpoints. You don't HAVE to go to class but you definitely have to look over the powerpoint and listen to his lecture. He grades on what he says in class, so pay attention to what he highlights. I would highly recommend having a good study group before the tests and quizzes to clarify confusing stuff.
Bideshi is Amazing ! I took him for both Fall & Spring semesters. Hes really inspirational and make sure to pay attention to everything he says and to write it down because he lets you know what he tests you on at all times.
I took Bideshi for the summer school hybrid of human microbiology. It was eight weeks and a lot of material in that time. There's lots of homework, lots of tests/quizzes/practica, but it helps your grade in the end. He gives you all of this stuff to help you learn. If you study long and hard, you'll do well. Make sure to pay attention in lab.
Bideshi is a great professor! He's very lively and passionate about microbio. Going to class is essential! He points out what tests are focused on, but still thoroughly go through his slides. This isn't a class you can cram for, don't try to (I did a few times, it was ugly). The only things assigned are tests and quizzes so try to score well!
Tests are all from the homework. Very encouraging and honest about expectations.
Professor Bideshi is very clear about expectations and is very clear about what is going to be on exams during class. He is also very knowledgeable about microbiology. He is very encouraging and lively. Would definitely take him again.
I tool the 8 week hybrid course with labs on Saturday. He is very clear about expectations. Similar to A&P you should study a couple hours a day as cramming won't help at all. You complete labs but there is not a write up. Lots of homework points to buffer test grades. Great professor, engaging lectures (he speaks fast), I would 100% re-take him.
Bideshi is a good teacher but this class was extremely challenging. For the level of difficulty the material was, it seems like he didn't really help by making the tests/quizzes easy to understand even though he allows you to drop certain scores. I am pretty sure the average for the students in this class was a low C (not passing).
Good class and professor if you put in the time to study and understand the concepts well and how those concepts integrate with the terms. If you enjoy learning about the human body and are willing to put in effort, this class is amazing. Just know its not exactly easy, but its fun if you try hard.
Not the best professor, BUT not the worst. He is a great man and knows a lot about anatomy; the exams are just hard. He gives a lot of quizzes (then drops some at the end) & gives an option for another exam (replaces lowest one), which will save your grade a ton! Don't worry too much, just study hard and try to UNDERSTAND instead of memorize!
He's a great lecturer, it's just that his testing material can be incredibly tough. So many people cheated in his class that it is unfair to the students who put in their blood sweat and tears and still didn't receive the grade they hoped for. The quizzes are very tricky and the tests can be mind-boggling. There should have been a bigger curve.
He knows the subject very well but he lectures fast and since the subject itself is difficult, it makes it harder to understand. The quizzes and the exam is hard. The things he say to mark down on the ppt doesnt always show out on the test. You have to really make an effort in the class to get a good grade.
By far the most difficult anatomy class at the university. He is an AMAZING professor who clearly knows the material, but be prepared to spend 3+ hours studying a day if you want a good grade. No joke! There is not a lot of extra credit, but there is an optional exam to replace your lowest exam score which will help a lot.
Do Not Take This Professor. He Is Absolutely Difficult And Does Not Know How To Have A Good Grading Scale. His Lectures Are Nothing Like The Powerpoints. Do Yourself A Favor And Take Prins.
He is not a good grader. Very terrible professor the exams are extremely difficult and does not know how to teach well. So many people cheated and raised the class average thats why we didnt get a curve. Unreal.
Honestly he is the WORST professor to exist at this university. His lecture style is odd and makes you think that when he says "make sure you know this it will be on the exam" that it will be on the exam. WRONG. His lecture slides dont match what is on the exam. Dont even get me started with the t/f quizzes. youre out of luck on that one.
DO NOT TAKE ENROLL IN HIS CLASS. He doesnt even answer emails and belittles you when answering real questions regarding grading, tests, etc. He made things so difficult knowing the pandemic we are all in and to be frank he is extremely rude and in my opinion just acts like he cares about students. All in all, ridiculous and rude! I hope he is happy
Not a good professor, I would recommend someone else. Yes he does know the material but he should not be teaching if what he is teaching does not even come in the exams. Horrible grading scale as well, it would be impossible to get your grade in a passing grade if you already did not do well the first or second time. Take Prins.
I took Bideshi for the accelerated 8 week Bio 205 lecture and lab. The class has weekly hw assignments. If you study the homework you will do extremely well on the test because the questions come straight from the hw. There are 3 exams and the lab portion consist of 2 practicums, a paper, and a simple project. I highly recommend taking him!
This is one of the classes where you think you are ready for the exam, you studied everything he told you too.... but then the exam is just so unnecessarily difficult. He words the questions so weird. The class is only made up of quizzes and exams so getting an A is very difficult, almost impossible. This was the first class I ever got a B in.
I am not taking him for my major anymore so I probably will fail or withdrawal but we will see.
Dr. Bideshi is absolutely one of the best professors for biology at CBU. He literally gives you a clear outline of what will be tested on. This class is realistic for students who truly want to pursue a career in healthcare and understand that these type of classes need to have high standards because peoples lives require the very best.
Hardest teacher ever taken by far. Could not handle the class I had to drop it. Tests do not parallel to his lectures even though he says everything on the powerpoints will be on the test - LIE! if you have to take this class, definitely don't take it at the same time as another science, you will be so overwhelmed and stressed out. Do not recommend
Powerpoints are formatted in the most info-dense possible, and the lectures are just a little skim of the information that will be tested. Microbio is notorious for being a difficult class, but I feel like there must be a better way to learn than having to memorize a 100pg presentation every single week.
He says you don't need the textbook because everything you will need is in his slides and that is a complete lie. He is a great person but a horrible professor
Bideshi is a great lecturer and keeps a pretty steady pace in the class. His class is incredibly difficult and his expectations of students is high! He wants those who take his class to be ready for professional school so he takes his job very seriously. Hes funny and really wise just make sure you put in the effort to do well in his class.
Sweet professor! was struggling, I would go to office hours and ask for help, but every time I would go, he would just say think philosophically, which frustrated me. Try to trick you up with the exams and will test you on the littlest detail on the slide that you would not think he would.
At first, I was intimidated to take his class cause people said his exams didn't correlate with his lectures. My advice is to take notes on what he says, don't copy the slides during class because he emphasizes what you need to know to understand the material. Overall, his class is doable, it's only hard if you don't put the time and effort into it
Definitely a difficult class, but makes clear what he wants you to focus on, at first did not like his lecture, but that was a reflection of my own participation and studying in the class. After reviewing what he specifically says studying for the class became much easier to handle. He also drops a huge chunk of your grade and curves.
Bideshi is honestly the best professor at CBU who works in the science department. I had to retake microbiology this summer, and Bideshi is one of the main reasons I got an A in his class. Excellent lectures, amazing and accurate study guides, and great teaching ability that helps students grasp difficult concepts in clinical settings.
He is very intelligent and knowledgeable and is able to successfully explain the material in an entertaining way.
Overall, one of the best professors I've had a CBU, respected within the science field and extremely well versed
Make no mistake, Dr. Bideshi is a great man with a big heart, and I like him as a person, but this class was unnecessarily difficult. I don't see why the exam has to be nearly 100 questions PLUS a written part. To anyone who takes this class, FIND A STUDY BUDDY and get close to them, otherwise you will work on the exams alone, and it is not fun.
Such an amazing professor! By far my favorite professor in the university. Very clear in what has to be on tests and quizzes, and encourages you along the way. Also easy to talk to during office hours. Made microbiology my favorite prerequisite I've taken. 10/10 recommend taking Dr. Bideshi.
Professor Bideshi teaches a difficult class, I've taken him in bio205, bio205L and bio 163, bio163L and though the classes are hard he prepares students well for the nursing program
Bideshi is by far my favorite professor at CBU :) Yes, the class is SO hard, but you'll do well if you give it your all. If you're taking this class you're most likely pre-healthcare, so don't expect it to be easy. Bideshi will help you think like a scientist. This class is about APPLICATION, not memorization. Find joy in the challenge- you got it!
Challenging but doable class. Bideshi has specific expectations, so staying engaged and using study aids like unstuckstudy helped me grasp the material. Tough exams, but fair grading with curve. Would recommend for motivated students looking to learn.
Bideshi is a great person inside and out. He is very smart and cares about all of his students and wants them to succeed. Classes are very difficult and the slides are FULL. Beware you will be constantly studying a lot of this class, or YOU WILL NOT SUCCEED!
Bideshi, the sweetest professor ever, he's very heavy on lecture, quizzes, and exams. You have to review all the lectures more to understand the quizzes.
Overall, it was a good class, and he is nice. If you're anything like me and you need a practice test to help study for exams, this class will be challenging. He does provide a general guide for what to study for each quiz and exam, so that helps, but if you can't study with only that, it will be challenging. He does drop quizzes and one exam.
Lectures are very unorganized, with many unnecessary charts and diagrams. Actual important text is hard to understand and does not flow in a chronological order. There's so much content, but 1/3 of it isn't important, so it makes studying for exams a 2-part battle. Orofessor can be hard to understand. Multiple-choice questions are weirdly worded.
Probably the worst class you will take as a bio major at CBU. Lectures are VERY unorganized, the professor is difficult to understand, and concepts are explained too quickly and illegibly on the board. The second part of the exam, he grades very harshly.
Bideshi is a caring professor, but his exams don't always match what he covers in class. The course is difficult and lecture-heavy with no study guides or extra credit. He tells you what to highlight, but only about 80–90% shows up on the tests, and the questions are often worded confusingly.
You've read the reviews, here's how you get an A in micro. . Pick Bideshi. The other professor teaching micro is a TOUGH grader. . Take notes during lecture, make a study guide . Use the PowerPoints . IMPORTANT. Watch the video lectures he provides. He provides information in them not stated in his ppt's and in-person lectures. . Pray Good luck.
