miller's awesome. definitely one of my favorites. he gets flustered sometimes in lecture, but delivers great lectures and gives fair tests. great presentation of material and very interesting subjects. dennis is great!
this class was interesting and Prof. miller did a good job on the subject.
Dr. Miller does a great teacher. He does not make the class too hard to do well in it. The tests are very straightforward, mainly from class notes. The subject matter is also quite interesting.
He's a great prof. He takes the time to make things clear, and the course has a good format (no cumulative final, good lectures, online quizzes, online lecture notes, tells you what will be on the tests).
Dennis was awesome! He made the material very interesting.
Mr. Miller obviously knows what he's talking about. If you don't understand what is said in lecture, he is always willing to help you during office hours. Great guy and teacher!
This class is set up really well. You have weekly homework that is online, easy, and worth a TON of points, 2 online tests (also easy), and 2 in class exams. The grade cutoffs are reasonable and he is a very helpful and available teacher. You should definitely go to lecture because you need to take notes on the slides. The stuff you learn is cool!
Mr. Miller is awesome! He definitely knows what he's talking about (he used to work for a drug company!) and the things you learn are so interesting! I would definitely reccommend taking his class! I looked forward to it every other day!
I took his Learning and Memory class. He seems like nice guy, but sucks as a professor. The classes are boring.
This class was very interesting I felt like I learned so much. I am going for pre-med so all that I learned really feels like i will apply it in the future. Going to class is vital so that u get the notes that is what majority of exam questions are over, You still need book to do the online homework assignments which are worth quite bit of points.
Great professor, very interesting lecture, very high knowledge about drugs and the brain. Book is only necessary for online quizzes, virtually everything on exams is pulled from his lectures. Highly recommend him.
He is great! His tests cover a lot of material and can be tough, but he is always willing to set up additional office hours.
I thought Miller would be easy at first so I took the class since it applied to nursing. He recorded his lectures this year on Tegrity. Both his lectures and textbook are on the exams. It's hard and a lot of info is covered. Online homework is easy. He even has a cumulative final. The exams require some hard core studying in order to do well.
knows EVERYTHING about psych. amazing teacher. classes are very interesting. his tests are very hard, but all the test put together are only like 30% of grade. if that. all points are in easy homework and participating in psych experiments.
He is an awful professor. He tests you on things that you would never think to be important. He power points are not informative at all. Basically, he sucked.
I rarely attended class, all the lectures are online. Just read the book and use the study links provided and you should have a good grade.
good professor, but the exams were too difficult for the class. After all, the class is a 1000 level. The teacher is credible, but the tests are just too difficult for the people taking the class. Mostly non-psych majors
This class was impossible. All lectures are on Tegrity but that's the only plus. You have to put a ridiculous amount of work into the class. For example, the final covered the entire book... all 16 chapters
Interesting Class, you don't need to show up to class because all his lectures are on tegrity. Tests are extremely difficult but he gives you a ton of homework and research points to make up for it. Overall, not difficult to get an A
Really nice guy and very helpful
Covers a tremendous amount of material and exams are very hard,. But homework and research is a big part of the final grade.
This class is interesting despite Miller's tendency to be repetitive and ramble in his lectures. He definitely cares about student learning, and what's more the class is very easy. All lectures are recorded on Tegrity, and a huge percentage of the grade comes from online homework and study participation. He utilizes videos and clips into lectures.
He is a really good teacher and really nice! I just didn't like how he would push us to read the textbook (which didn't make any sense and was so complicated) and then would base our tests off of lecture and homework. Overall, if you have interest in the subject he's teaching, you'll do well!
Do all smartwork, go to research participaton, and do semi-okay on the tests (C or better) and you will definitely pass the class and get an A- even! He's great too and can even be slightly funny.
He was the best lecturer I had this semester. His lectures were easy to follow. The majority of the grade is homework on the computer. As long as you do it until it is all right, you will get a 100% for the homework. His tests are hard and he will tell you that himself. You will need to study for them.
Awesome professor! Miller made class so interesting and did an exceptional job of involving students while in lecture. Good balance of textbook use, powerpoint slides, videos, and discussion. I would take this class again in a heartbeat!
I had Dr. Miller for Drugs and Behavior, and it was by far the best class I have taken so far. He clearly states expectations, and yes, you have to read the textbook and do the homework to do well. The textbook is really interesting though, and Dr. Miller explains all concepts with clarity. I would highly recommend this class for anyone!!!
Great prof and he really knows his stuff but I felt he was unreasonable with the homework. There would be online HW due before the next class begins. He makes it clear that he gives no extensions on HW. On exam days, it made it difficult to both study for the exam AND finish HW. I don't think it's right to have HW due on the same day as an exam.
Dr. Miller's lectures are very clear and helpful and he does a very good job of helping you understand everything. It is important you read the textbook, because you will get behind if you don't.
Great class, very interesting, go to class.
He's super awkward and weird but a super nice guy. Tests are very difficult but not impossible-he makes up for them in easy homework. Getting an A or B is entirely doable.
Dr. Miller is an amazing teacher. His lectures are very interesting. An A or B is very doable as long as you do all of the homework and attend class. Great guy, very passionate about what he teaches.
Go to class!! The iClicker points can really help boost your grade and they are easy points (as long as you read the chapter before class). The tests are not that hard because everything comes from lecture notes and homework. The lecture itself is boring but essential to go to.
Literally the worst teacher I've ever had. He's a nice guy but does not teach anything that appears on the tests. I was up until 3 in the morning studying for a test and got a 50% on it because he test you on the most unimportant details that you would never even think are important. I love psychology but not with him. Take with someone else!
Great Professor. Really knows what he's talking about and likes what he's teaching. I loved the class but the tests were HARD. He puts the old exams on blackboard and I would recommend definitely studying those!! Pretty easy to do well
Great professor. His tests are really hard but they are usually curved by about 5 points. Homework is a huge portion of the grade so definitely do it. Read the book, study the lectures, and you should have no problem getting an A.
Dr. Miller is a very good teacher. His exams are hard but he had enough other stuff that you can still get a good grade without doing extremely well on the exams. We did in class question that were 80 points of your grade so attendance isn't mandatory but will definitely help your grade.
Good lecturer. Cares if students learn. The tests are tough but the homework is easy.
He is a really nice guy, but most of the things on the test are mentioned in passing between subjects. Avoid if possible. Exams are ridiculous. Studied til 6am and got a C. Half of the stuff, I felt like I had never heard.
Love Professor Miller! He is such a nice guy and is very helpful. His exams follow exactly what is given on the study guide, so are pretty easy! Each exam is only worth 7.6% of your grade and the rest comes from homework points. Very easy to get an A in this class. Dennis really cares about each student and wants us all to succeed. Great professor!
Really nice and dorky guy(: Loved having him as a teacher!!! Tests are hard but there are enough other easy points to make up for it... He actually made psychology interesting!!
Great guy, great teacher. Tests really aren't bad if you pay attention in class and study a little bit.
I really liked this guy. First semester at Mizzou and he is my favorite professor. He jokes, knows the material, and is really down to earth. Online easy homework, and possibly the greatest thing is that he gives study guides for tests! I recommend him for psych 1000
Professor Miller is an amazing teacher, his lectures are very interesting. He uses a clicker, so I recommend you go everyday. I did, and I did not regret it. He uses a points system, homework is worth about 13 of grade which is an easy A+. His tests are difficult, but if you the study guide you should be fine. He's helpful and offers extra credit.
Dr. Miller was incredibly helpful and nice. He knows the material well and makes jokes in class. You also get to watch videos during lectures. He does use iClickers and if you don't show up to get the points you'll have a harder time passing.
Loved this class. Prof. Miller was very clear in his intentions for the course and I was never confused on grading criteria or material. He had plenty of office hours and really wanted his students to succeed. If you show up to class and do the homework, you will do well.
He has the material there for you to pass you just have to make sure you do it. He does use clickers to make sure you're in class and every week you have at least one assignment due online. If you study tests will be pretty easy.
The study guides are the test. You don't have to read the book. Do the research experiments as soon as possible to get them out of the way. I am now a psych major because of this class.
Dr. Miller is awesome! The majority of the points come from SmartWork where you can use open book. Tests are kinda hard, but he gives you a clear study guide and gives you access to previous exams. He is dorky but he's a really sweet guy. Only thing is that he uses clicker points, so you can't skip class a lot.
This teacher is great! He's friendly and NOT annoying. He teaches at an understandable level as long as you listen at least 80%. Some people didn't like this class because of clicker questions, but if you come that isn't an issue. Put in the work and you will pass. It's that simple and that easy. He's always open to help and interactive in class.
Honestly, he would be fine if he didn't not excuse absences, especially when you travel for the University. I did, several times, and missed out on his stupid in class points and he said he has no excuses for missing. If you're even remotely involved with the University in any way in terms of extra curricular, don't take this psychology class.
Majority of the homework will come from SmartWork. Come to class, the clicker questions are basically your attendance and are worth points. You have the choice of either participating in research or writing essays on topics that he gives you. The tests aren't that bad as long as you study. The final is cumulative.
The test are easy, just do the review sheet and look at the practices test. He repeats questions from the practice test sometimes. Do the homework and go to class for your clicker points. His lectures are pretty interesting. He is really helpful if you come see him.
Study the study guide that he gives you. Read your book. Go to class to get the clicker points. Do the research studies (Go to them or you wont get extra credit in the end of the semester) Go in during his office hours, he will highlight what is on the test.
interesting class and he makes lectures interesting. you have to be in class to get clicker points. he grades on a point system so really every single point matters even clicker points. chapters are long but worth reading. paying attention in class pays off
Great class and great professor. I had to take his psych 1000 class for a pre rec and it was an easy A. If you go to class, listen, and do what you're told then you will with out a doubt get an A.
Miller teaches at a very nice pace and is willing to answer any questions. The HW is online and lets you keep going until you get 100%. Tests are all multiple choice and have study guides, so if you study you will do just fine. He uses clickers so you have to go to class. Overall, a pretty easy class with interesting material and a helpful prof.
Dr. Miller is a great professor. He seems very passionate about the material that he teaches, and is extremely clear. The tests are straight forward, but can be tough if you do not spend enough time with the material. The only downside is his heavy reliance on online homework, which is tedious. However, Dr. Miller is always there for questions.
Really great guy, cares about you and the subject matter. Big points from Inquizitive hw (super easy points) and participation via clicker.
Super easy class. All online except for two proctored exams. Take the quizzes and read the book and it is an easy A.
One of the best professors I've had thus far. He is really amazing at explaining the criteria and actually shows his passion for it.
Dr. Miller is an exceptional professor. If you come to class and pay attention you will do just fine. He puts clicker questions throughout his lectures which not only helps you get easy points, but ensures that you grasp the concepts he is teaching in lecture. Take this class! You won't regret it!
He is an amazing instructor. He is very caring and his test is not a big deal if you study exactly what he told you to. I thank him very much !
Professor Miller was really funny and obviously cared about how his students felt. He was great about calling on students and asking for personal questions. In a class of 400 students, I felt like if I needed to ask something I could. It's important to go to class though, a third of the points come from clicker questions answered in class.
My favorite professor. Actually made me want to go to class.
Very easy class. Show up, get your participation points, do research studies, and you'll have an A. His lectures are very well-structured and informative, although he sometimes does an extra lecture at the end (how alcohol affects the brain, Parkinson's, etc.) that is never on the test and wastes thirty minutes.
You cannot skip class or the research labs. Lectures were unorganized, but if you do everything you are supposed to and you will succeed.
Miller was such a great professor that he inspired me to minor in psych. His lectures were informative with a dash of humor here and there. Do your homework, don't procrastinate on research credits, and study a little sparingly throughout the semester and you're almost guaranteed an A. You'll actually learn a lot of good stuff, too.
Awesome professor. Easy A if you come to class and study for tests. All homework is online and should be easy 100%.
It's really important to go to lectures. If you go to class and do the homework, you'll be okay. Look at the old exams he gives out because some questions come from those. It isn't difficult to get an A.
He's an amazing guy! open to questions anytime, and always helps with grading issues if there was any problems. Material was heavy but he tried to make it easier as much as he can. Funny, helpful and accessible. Totally loved it.
Sweetest teacher, LOVE HIM!!!
I loved his class! I strongly recommend him as a professor especially if you haven't taken a psych class before. He makes everything clear to understand and he has detailed study guides . Just make sure to go to class he has a lot of participation points and do the homework and you will be fine. Good Luck!
Explained things clearly, although sometimes beats a point to death. But if you attend class and pay attention, you'll understand the material and pass easy.
Your grade comes from 4 categories - exams, in-class clicker points, research participation credit outside of class, and Inquizitive. Dr. Miller gives plenty of help with finding research opportunities and makes lectures easy to understand. Attendance isn't mandatory, but if you miss class, you'll miss the clicker question points for that day.
Hilarious teacher who really cares for what he does. 4-part grading, and every part except for the exams are easily obtainable and don't require too much studying. He's a great first professor for anyone nervous about the switch from high school to college.
Great professor!! Loved his class. He always made it fun and I looked forward to coming to class. Has clicker questions so participation isn't mandatory, but it is if you want points. I hope to take one of his classes again!
Loved him!
This class is a great intro to psych course! He is really enthusiastic about psychology and brings in real world examples, instead of just reading from the powerpoint slides. He does use tegrity, but I wouldn't recommend missing that many classes because he does use the clicker. pay attention and complete the study guides he makes, & u will do good
Go to class! There are clicker questions worth points. It's easy points for just listening. Complete the SONA research ASAP, so you wont stress about it later. He's a very nice and understanding teacher, and I feel he cares about our grades. Make sure to study for his tests, psych may be easy, but some things are tricky.
Easiest A. As long as you take the weekly quizzes and show up to class for clicker points, there's no reason why you shouldn't have an A. He posts old exams online which are pretty much identical to the ones he gives you in class.
Great professor very passionate about the subject and getting students involved. You must participate in research studies outside of the class, don't put it off and you can get into some cool experiments. Tests are very similar to prior exams so be sure to review those. I never used the book for the homework b/c you can guess until you get it right
Four multiple choice tests straight from lectures and text book. Online inquizitive homework due weekly. Good lecture personality - easy to follow. Sometimes can get repetitive. Uses clickers.
great teacher and gen ed class. tests are combinations of old tests which makes it really easy to see what the tests are like and what to expect. He uses clickers and in the end they can have a big impact on your grade so i would recommend going. He also has Sona credits (research participation) which can get you 7 extra credit pts in the end
Sleep and Sleep Disorders is a hidden gem at Mizzou. It's easy, interesting and actually makes an impact on your life. You'll end up taking this class for the A, then after reading the first couple of chapters in the textbook, you'll end up taking this class for the content.
He does clicker questions where there's a right answer and you lose points if you get it wrong, so you have to pay attention to the lectures, which are easy to listen to and take notes on. The best part is the old exams he posts which is all I studied because he uses the same questions and the answers are highlighted. Super easy A
Blandest of the bland psych1000 classes, beware falling asleep at 9am.
Miller is a seemingly nice guy, nothing really stands out that much. He glosses over some stuff pretty often and if you're prone to spacing out, you'll come back into it with an incorrect clicker answer (he relies on those A LOT) and being pretty confused about the topic. I wish it was more interesting.
Best professor at Mizzou. Loved him.
First, he's an amazing teacher and makes lectures enjoyable. You can tell that he genuinely loves his job and cares about your success in the course. There are clicker questions in class that are part of your grade (go to class!). There's 1 or 2 online assignments due every week. You'll do good on the test as long as you pay attention in lecture.
We love Dennis.
BEST PROFESSOR AT MIZZOU!!! This class is very easy as long as you do the homework and come to class to get the clicker question points. Tests are straight forward. He is very passionate about his job and truly cares about his students' success. You will not find a better professor here than Dennis.
Class requires more effort than some other 1000 level classes, but grading criteria is clear and the work is very manageable. Class participation, research participation, homework, and exams make up the grade. Very caring and relatable teacher.
Dr. Miller cracks lots of jokes and is knowledgeable and passionate about the field. A *decent* amount of work (readings, online homework) but simple, straightforward teaching style and content. Fair tests, all multiple choice. Offers Tegrity lectures but also requires Clicker points. Easy A with little effort!
Love Dr. Miller! As long as you read the material, tests are a breeze. You have to come to class to get points for participation, but if you have to miss, he's very understanding and willing to schedule office hours if you can't make it to his regular times. Great class too, the material is interesting!
I found Professor Miller to be a good teacher and I enjoyed the class. However I found his class to be the most difficult of the psych 1000 classes as the other sections had easier exams and less homework
Miller loves clicker questions. A lot. As long as you go to class and complete the online homework on time, you should be fine. The best way to study for his tests is to review his old tests. His has them all on Canvas and he uses a lot of the same questions on his tests.
I love Dennis Miller. Classes went by fast because of good lectures and fun videos. He posted all the previous exams on canvas - which if you study those, you'll do great on the test. Wish more prof's were like him.
This is the best professor you guys will ever get, please take this class!
Super chill. If you do the homework and study participation youll be fine.
He's super friendly and funny! I sat in the front row and we would make conversation everyday. 2 years later when I see him around campus he recognizes me! Make sure you do the research participation (SO easy) and do the inquizitives (even easier). They're easy points!
Dennis is a man who doesn't aim to be the funny guy, but he is hilarious. A chunk of points comes from clicker questions, so make sure to attend lecture if you want those points! Every week there is an online assignment that you may need to read a chapter for. For this class, you must participate in research studies or alternatively write papers.
LOVE LOVE LOVE Dennis. One of the best professors I've ever had the chance to meet. Helped me truly enjoy psychology to the fullest. Just make sure to go to class to get your clicker points. Inquizitives are also necessary.
He is very animated and sweats a bunch!
Great Prof. he's funny and the lectures are posted online. Theres like one homework assignment a week. The test aren't too bad either. :)
Mr. Miller is a beast. He brings so much passion and energy into each and every lecture and is funny. Gen Psych was my favorite class this semester, thanks Prof. Miller!
He does lots of clicker questions so make sure you go to class, but he gives the old exams to study from so it makes the class easy to get an A.
Take Psych 1000 with Dennis! He is so kind & really wants every kid in his class to get an A. Weekly homework easy, 3 exams, 1 comprehensive final, lots of iclicker points! Go to class on the days you expect no one to be there, he will give a lot of extra credit through iclicker.
Great Professor! He really cares about his students.
Hands down my favorite professor so far! He is passionate about psychology and his classes were always engaging. He is also very approachable and really cares about your success in his class and you as well. Go into his office hours and he is happy to help you out! Fairly easy gen ed class but is also very interesting. Great job Professor Miller!
Come to class to get participation points from clicker questions. You can pretty much do the weekly homework during class and still take notes from the lecture, too. Easy class, some light studying is required before tests but nothing to stress about. Tests are only a portion of the grade. Would recommend.
Dennis is a good prof if you want an easy A, but I didn't like him. He talks to the class like we're little (e.g. uses euphemisms for sex, dumbs everything down). Also he skipped the Sex, Gender, and Sexuality unit entirely. He is clearly kind of religious and I feel like that was reflected in his teaching. Very nice, not my favorite prof
Dr. Miller is a GREAT professor. He is enthusiastic, and formats his lectures in a way that appeals to any type of learner. His tests are incredibly easy (he uses questions from prior tests) and are only worth 50 pts each, so there is no reason that you should get below a B. Show up for clicker questions, do the online HW, and you'll be fine.
Very nice guy and easy A! Best way to study is the old tests- a lot of questions are the same! Must study and pay attention but it is not hard. Have to show up for class bc he does clicker everyday. Make sure you do all inquizitives (online textbook helps with these) and study participation or it will bring down grade a lot.
Most interesting class ever! Prof. Miller makes it really clear what you need to know for the ONE exam!! YES, ONE EXAM! The chapter assignments are easy and the dream journal is actually really fun to do! Take this class!!!
DENNIS WAS THE BEST! he is so interesting to listen to! you can tell he is passionate on this subject. his tests are kinda hard, especially if you dont study. He does clicker questions, but gives easy points.
Keep track of your grade throughout the semester, go to class, you'll pass. I barely paid attention and still got an A! Perfect for 1st year students.
I found spacing out in his lectures and his teaching method of just babbling on and on without any interesting connections put me to sleep. He also showed a Ben Shapiro clip unironically because he mentioned a psychological study?? I eventually just stopped showing up honestly.
Easiest class ever. Took during COVID, so there weren't any tests. There were daily quizzes, but they were easy even if you didn't watch the lecture. Basically, if you do the homework and 2 other assignments, you'll get an A.
Dennis is MY MAN. Class was so easy and lectures were interesting. Gen ed class but top notch guy. and No exams :)
Great professor. So nice and has really interesting lectures. All lectures are recorded so did not need to go to class in person if you did not want to. Very understanding and wants you to succeed. Class was fairly easy, definitely possible for everyone to finish with an A.
He is so entertaining and well spoken. I went online, but I know he really appreciated the students who went in person. Very genuine, helpful, and good at answering emails. I would take a million classes of his if I could. A lot of the grade is participation, and the final essay was fun! I fully recommend him.
Class is basically participation based, you just have to turn everything in and you'll get an A. There are a lot of things to turn in though, there are soo many Learning Curve assignments! Only thing that was graded for real was weekly quizzes but they're open note. No tests or final exam, only a final paper. Everything open note.
his lectures are really amazing! You get points for participation and answering questions during the lectures so participation matters. He is so caring. His exams are not difficult. you take the exam online and he gives you 4 days to complete which is super amazing! I would definitely recommend his course!
Dennis Miller was a great professor for PSYCH1000. He uses quite a few iClickers in class, but his lectures are very entertaining and all tests are online as well as open note. The class follows the textbook pretty closely, but a lot of the reading is gone over in class.
Mr. Miller is probably my favorite professor this semester. He always has the greatest lectures and really makes sure you understand the material. There are textbook readings every week, and the exams are open book, meaning it's very easy to get an A. I would take him again if I had the chance. Highly recommended.
Dennis is such a nice person and I genuinely enjoyed coming to his class. He was always really interested in what he was talking about and it was nice to feel like he cared about his students. He cares about mental health and his class is easy. Would 10000% take another class with him.
Super friendly and has a great class set up.
Dennis is my favorite professor ever! If you show up to class for clicker questions and do the inquisitive homework, its an easy A. Tests are open note as well and no time limit. Dennis cares about his students and I thought his lectures were super helpful to better understand a lot of the material! Take any class with him if you have the chance!!!
Professor Miller is one of my favorites here at Mizzou. His lectures are very well organized and paced, making it easy to absorb information and take notes. Be sure to come to class and participate with the clicker questions, as it's a decent bit of your grade. Exams are open note with no time limit. InQuisitive is a great way to learn the content.
Dennis is for real one of the best teachers I have ever had. You can tell he really cares. Come to class and do the clicker questions and inquizitives and you will get an A. Also, his tests are online and you have near unlimited time. I wish I could take his class again, I am going to miss him :(
Professor Dennis Miller will be missed at The University of Missouri - Columbia, I really enjoyed his lectures and how laid back he was. Wherever he goes next the students there will definitely enjoy his class
I'm a sophomore and Dennis Miller is the best professor I've ever had. He's just an amazing guy, and really cares about his students. I'm literally a journalism major and have very little interest in the subject, but this became my favorite class because of him. Wish he could teach all my classes. Super easy, so fun, very nice and funny.
Dennis Miller was my favorite professor. He really cares about his students and lectures are enjoyable. It's easy to take notes during class if you want to but he usually posts the slides. As long as you show up to class and pay attention it is an easy class.
The best prof I've had at Mizzou so far! Professor. Miller truly cares about every student, even in the 300+ person lectures. He has a very engaging teaching style, and I always looked forward to his class. Homework through InQuizitive isn't too bad, and tests are heavily based off the lectures. Overall amazing professor with a super awesome class!
best professor I've ever had. love this guy. Just be sure to go to the lectures
He is so passionate about psychology, and really does a great job of making it interesting. I really enjoyed this class!
Dennis is the BEST!! He is clearly so passionate about what he does and he always showed care and compassion for each student, despite large classes. Pretty easy homework assignments/readings with lots of time to do them, and Dennis made each lecture engaging and interesting. Would 100% take a class with him again!
Best professor ive had! So passionate about what he teaches. Exams are clear and he prepares you well for them. Homework is easy, just do the work and youll get an A. Very approachable and willing to meet!
Dennis Miller is hands down one of the greatest professors Ill ever have been lucky enough to experience. He has a good personality, is very knowledgeable and explains topics clearly and with enthusiasm. The lectures are enjoyable and youll want to do the homework and try your best on the tests. This is an excellent class.
genuinely everybody loves dennis. show up, do the iclicker questions, take notes during lecture or on the textbook, do the inquiztives, boom good grade. lots of information about many different concepts in a short time, good introduction to a massive field of study.
Dennis always showed up in a great mood. Show up to class and do the iclickers and the homeworks and youll get a good grade. I have never talked to someone who had a negative experience with dennis
Dennis is a really great professor who truly cares about his students. He sent regular emails not only to students who were struggling but also to those who were doing well. He really wanted everyone to succeed and be able to get an A, which was great. Tests were online and open book/note. Easy open book homework and participation points in class.
I really enjoyed his class. Showing up to class is important, as part of your grade is based on iClicker questions, but if for some reason you miss class - just email him and he will let you know how to make it up. The tests are easy and open-note, so as long as you attend class and pay attention, you will do great.
super easy! the only downside is that there is iclicker, but just make sure you do not miss too many lectures if you don't plan on going all of the time, the iclicker points definitely do add up. the research participation stuff seems scary and a lot at first but it's basically just online surveys, do them early!
SUCH A GREAT PROFESSOR!!! I cannot explain how awesome this class was. If I could give Dr. Miller more stars, I would. Its so easy, and honestly really entertaining to listen to and learn about from him. If you see any negative comments about Dr. Miller, ignore them because everything is manageable and fairly easy for his course.
Dennis Miller is truly the best professor I've ever had. He is so enthusiastic and he lectures with slides that are easy to follow and take notes with. He is my favorite professor I've ever had. Take his class and treat him with the respect he deserves!!!
Dr. Miller is great! I had him Fall 2021 and have nothing but good things to say about him. He cares about his students, makes sure you are always prepared for the tests (open note too), and heavily weights the class so homework and iClicker participation make up most of the grade. I didn't have to pay much attention to the class, but it was fun.
He's a great professor, but be aware that most of the classes he teaches are large lectures. However, if you need him, he will help you upon request.
He is a great professor and would recommend everyone take a class that he is teaching. He actually cares about his students and their well-being. HE IS AMAZING!!!
his lectures are very informative and entertaining
Loved his lectures. Very easygoing professor who knows what he's talking about. Genuinely cares for his students and wants them to succeed--also sends out fun GIFs in his emails. 10/10 would recommend. What a guy!
He is incredible, my favorite professor. His lectures are clear and he makes learning easy.
Great class. Teachers make the difference between a good and bad class and he definitely creates a fun, entertaining lecture. His tests are open book, not timed and that makes them easily do-able. Not on him but Middlebush auditorium (where he lectured) has had the worst climate control this semester I swear. too cold or too hot but not his fault
Best professor I've ever had!!!!!!!! Test are online (unlimited time to take it). Homework is light and easy. Class is mandatory but he keeps the lectures interesting. Overall a super nice guy too
love dennis. take a class with him. now.
Very good and well-organized professor. He makes the lectures interesting and shows real care for his students. Great professor and a great guy all around.
i love Dennis miller he is my favorite professor from my freshman year, i can tell that he really loves the material that he teaches and he is always excited to teach.
I love Dennis. Just make sure you go to class because there's questions that will boost your grade.
He is just a very happy person. You have to go to class because he uses iclicker and it is for points. All 3 of the tests are online and open note.
Dennis Miller is truly a great professor! Class was easy but informative, exams were open note/book.
Great guy. Funny at times and his lectures aren't difficult to understand. He lets us take open note tests and is very laid back. Inquizitive assignments can get annoying, but it's an easy A class as long as you show up for iClicker points. Very interesting class.
Dennis Miller. The man, the myth, the legend. I can guarantee any class taken with this gift from god will be entertaining, informational, and overall just a great vibe. It's on my bucket list to one day drink a beer with him at Heidelberg.
Miller was a great and funny professor, I enjoyed his class a lot. We had homework due each week but we were allowed to use notes on our tests. He makes sure that we have all the materials we need to be able to complete assignments.
Dennis Miller is a great guy, everyone loves him. His lectures are some of the most interesting you'll attend, and the reading material is also intriguing. He explains concepts well and is typically in a good mood. This is an excellent class and sometimes I wish I could take it again.
Such a funny professor, homework was an easy 100, tests were open note and online, go to class to get your iclicker points
This class was an easy A, and if I could take it again I would. He does use iClicker every class for attendance, which takes up a good amount of your grade. You can tell he likes talking about the material in class, and doesn't make you want to fall asleep.
Very easy class - he does use iClickers, but allows you to make them up just by walking into his office hours up to a week after the missed lecture. Learned quite a bit, and Miller did a great job of answering questions and keeping lectures interesting/entertaining. Loved the guy.
Go to class, do the iclickers, do the inquizitives, SONA and you're set. So easy just takes a little bit of time
Professor Miller is awesome! Attendance does matter, he does iclickers each class. Very entertaining lectures, he shows slides and sometimes videos during classes. Make sure to stay on top of SONA research, but other than that this class was super easy!
He makes the class interesting and easy to understand and keep up with. The iClicker questions used throughout lectures are very helpful as well as the homework system Inquizitive. Plus all quizzes are open note!
Great professor, loved his lectures. Definitely cares about his students. Uses iClicker so attendance is important. Pretty fast-paced regarding the textbooks and units, you need to read about 1 unit per week.
DENNIS MILLER IS AWESOME would recommend any class with him! - Class participation in PSYCH 1000 is worth 35% of your grade, so actually go to class lol - Quizzes are open note, no exams - Super helpful during office hours
DENNIS MILLER IS AN AMAZING PROFESSOR AND YOU SHOULD TAKE ANY CLASS HE TEACHES!!! He has great lectures which you have to attended for a grade but all quizzes are open note and taken online and there are no exams!!!
My man Dennis is goated. Class was lit. I wish he hit the blunt with us tho
Dr. Miller is one of the best professors on campus, he truly cares about the success and health of his students and has a very simple yet informative class. Cannot say enough good about Dr. Miller, do the Inquizitives, show up to class, and complete the open note/book/internet quizes and you will do great. Also, never hurt Dennis, he is too pure!
Dennis Miller is the man. His lectures were so awesome that he inspired me to minor in psychological sciences! Dennis makes class easy and his I-Clickers (questions during lectures) are a great way to make sure you know what's going on. Dennis is the kindest professor at Mizzou and is super easy-going. I'd recommend taking this class for any major
It's super obvious that Dennis Miller cares about the success of students! Sends out emails encouraging good work, does take graded iClicker questions for attendance but they're easy if you pay attention. He always has lots of great examples to help you understand, and the required research participation is a great way to help out other students!
Dennis Miller is truly one of the best professors you will ever have. You can see how much he genuinely cares for his students, and how much he wants you to succeed. He uses iClicker, so you do have to show up to class, but if you're paying attention they're super easy questions. The quizzes are all online, and he gives a full week to do them!
Dr. Miller is an amazing professor. He is caring and funny. Iclickers are used in this class so attendance is mandatory. All of the quizzes are open book. Homework is really easy. There is an online textbook but if you just take a quick look at it, you should get an A.
Dennis was such a nice and sweet guy and I loved taking his class. He was clear about deadlines and what was expected and was very charismatic and easy to follow. Everyone loved dennis. I;m gonna miss him
Dennis Miller is the most fun, caring, supportive professor ever. He genuinely cares about his students and continuously puts them first even admist his own personal/family emergencies. He makes his lectures interactive with questions and videos and always sneaks in fun analogies.
Dennis Miller is the best professor ever, take his class if you want an easy gen ed requirement!! Just show up to class and you will get an A!
Interesting lectures. Just go to class and you will be fine.
Awesome professor, probably the best on campus! Just show up to class to get the points from iclicker. Homework on inquizitive and quizzes every chapter.
Dennis Miller is a professor who wants his students to pass and learn. 35% of your grade is based on attendance and random "clicker" questions however the questions are very easy if you were paying half attention to the lecture. He made psychology fun.
He is so funny and makes psychology so interesting! As long as you show up and do the homework this will be a fun easy class. If it's for your major I'm sure it would be the perfect intro! He is also very easy to contact and SUPER friendly!
This class was super chill. It really is not hard to get an A. Quizzes are open note and online, homework and textbook are online. He does use iClicker for participation points, so if you skip you just don't get those points. Overall, really liked this class and would take his classes in the future.
Prof. Miller was great fun! He made a huge lecture still feel
very passionate about psych, just very boring and not engaging. Has IClicker so you must go to class, if you miss one day your grade will take a big hit. No exams though which is very nice. A very cool and chill professor just has tons of IClicker questions that get a little repetitive and annoying at times.
The Man. The Myth. The LEGEND. We all love Dennis Miller for a good reason. He is one of the best professors that you'll ever have. The only thing I didn't like is that he uses I-clicker so it's important to show up for lectures, but that is understandable because it raises the class average. The Research credits were also a little time consuming.
One word: amazing.
Professor Miller is one of the best professors I've had. He cares about his students, is passionate about the course material, and encourages his students to participate in research on campus. I'm not sure what else you can want from a professor.
Professor Miller makes psych super engaging. Attendance is a must, but the easy quizzes and unstuck ai make this a fun, manageable class. Definitely take if you can!
He is amazing!!! Everyone needs a Dennis miller in their life!!
He is hands down the most wholesome and caring professor/teacher I've ever had. He really makes sure his students understand what is going on and succeed.
For a few Fridays and Mondays I had to leave campus early and come back late on weekends due to family issues back home. Dr. Miller was completely understanding and allowed me to have opportunities to make up the work I missed for no late points. He is one of the most genuine and amazing professors I've had the privilege of having.
AMAZING! If you have the choice to take a class with him, DO IT. You will not regret it!
Dennis Miller is the nicest professor ever. He cares so much about his job and you can tell. He lets our exams be open note to not stress ourselves out. Attendance is not fully mandatory, I have missed a couple classes and still end with an A+. You do i-clickers in class that count towards attendance. I would take any class again if he taught it.
Very nice professor. Easy class and he's a good teacher with a clear passion for what he's teaching.
Very good professor, you have to do research studies for points, but very simple and you have whole semester to complete them. He is very understanding and allows for late work. Does take attendance, but if you go to class and finish assignments you should do just fine. Has online midterm and finals as well and no exams other than those.
Dennis is the nicest professor I've ever had! Loved this class, he makes lectures interesting, and he's really willing to work with students to help them succeed. I wish I had more classes to take with him. Genuinely can't say enough good stuff about this guy, and the class is easy if you just show up and do iClicker. 1000/10.
One of my favorite professors this year. Class is easy to get an A without actually having to learn anything if you're just fulfilling a credit but he makes it so interesting that you want to learn about the content. Great class; easy, interesting, and would take again for sure!
Dennis is a fantastic professor. The class is easy enough to where you don't have to actually learn anything to get an A if you're taking it to fulfill a required credit but he made it so interesting that I wanted to learn and pay attention. The iClickers are annoying but they're free points if you pay attention. I would totally take this again.
I loved this class! Miller is a really wonderful lecturer and I never felt too lost or confused. Lots of relevant examples and easy to follow lessons. The class structure was laid out really well too, and there are only two exams, midterm and final. As long as you come to class and do the homework, you will get a good grade!
Very easy and fun class.
His lectures are very clear, he makes each lecture easy to listen to, and he genuinly cares about the students taking his class.
Everyone loves Mr. Miller, and there is a reason for that- he is the best! Sweetest guy ever and such a great professor. He is so passionate about psychology, and you can tell he genuinely loves his job and will take any excuse to form bonds with students. Lovely professor!
Professor Miller is truly one of the Best! If you are reading professor reviews and considering taking this class definitely do so. The class is very interesting and a very light work load/ Show up to lectures, do the work and you will get an A.
This class was very easy and Mr. Miller is amazing. He is incredibly kind and cares about his students. There were smart books(about 1 per week) that took about 45 minutes to complete, but everything else was extremely easy. LOVED this class.
Dr. Miller is a wonderful professor! He cares about every student and wants the best for them. Nothing too difficult about this class. As long as you show up to class and do the homework on time, you should get an A. He makes lectures engaging and relatable, so it is easy to learn.
Professor Miller is a great guy and knows a lot about the subject. He makes it easy to stay engaged in lecture as well. The only thing I really struggled with was the attendance policy, attendance is 25% of your grade. I would only recommend this class if you have it later in the morning.
He is such a sweet guy who cares a lot about his students and what he is teaching, and is very considerate/gives extensions when it comes to outside struggles. The only hard thing about the class is that participation is 25% of the grade, so iClicker is very important, and it is lecture heavy so I recommend taking this class later in the morning.
He is amazing, very straight forward class and pretty easy but you actually learn. I would take it every year if I could.
this class is super easy, just show up! He is amazing
#DennisNation
This is the second class I've taken with Dennis and he's been probably my fav prof ever. As long as you go to class and do the homework the class is an easy A. I will say it does make me sad when he's still lecturing and the whole lecture hall starts packing up so please don't be that student.
Honestly the greatest lecturer I've ever had on this campus. He's kind, funny, and extremely knowledgeable in his subject and honesty a joy to have had.
His lectures are super fun to listen to. He's very lighthearted and does his best to accommodate any issue that you may bring to him. No test until the very end of the semester but the way that he teaches things it won't be hard to prepare for the one test. Highly recommend him!!!
Not much to say other than Dr. Miller was one of the best professors I've ever had. Very kind hearted, and respectful man. Doesn't get much better than him.
He's a good guy
The instructor was good and gave good lectures, but the iclicker thing was very annoying.
Amazing teacher, amazing lectures. Lots of extra credit. Very understanding. Cares about his students. Great introductory course for Psych or just as a Gen Ed.
Dr. Miller is one of the best professors at Mizzou hands down. Take this class if you can. The only bad things were mandatory attendance and the large amounts of homework every week. Other than that I would recommend this class.
Great professor, would take again.
The Absolute Goat
Super amazing professor. Truly cares about students and wants to help. 100% recommend taking one of his classes at least once!
I have taken this professor twice, and he is easily one of the best on campus. He is funny, supportive, and genuinely cares about what you want to do in the future. I definitely recommend going to his lectures because the experience and entertainment alone make it worth it. #DennisNation :).
dr miller means very well, hes very smart and tried to like "fit in" with us by using slang sometimes. his lectures are quite tedious and the homework is long but the content is quite easy. most of the points come from class participation and out oly test is the final.
Love you Dennis Miller
Dr. Miller cares a lot about his students. He makes his deadlines crystal clear throughout, and a significant portion of your grade is comprised of class participation via iClickers (40%), participation in research studies (10%), and Smartbook and Connect assignments (the former are graded based on participation, while the latter can be retaken).
Fun, genuine prof who makes lectures pretty exciting and shows he cares about all his students.
He is so amazing and such a good guy, he genuinely cares about his students and cares about your grades. go to his office hours if you miss something hes very understanding and wont ask questions if you miss something! you wont regret taking this class
Super great class, very caring professor. His lectures were very engaging and I had it at 9:00am! No exams the whole year, but there was a 75 question final which I found pretty hard, so be prepared. If you just do your work its an easy A
Dr. Miller is the best! His class is very interesting and he is a very passionate and caring professor. His class has a lot of busy work, but nothing difficult at all.
he had nothing but mcgraw hill assignments all semester than gave a cumulative final at the end and expected you to do well it was not kind of him to do
He is a great professor, and it is very clear that he genuinely cares and is interested in the material he teaches. There are no tests until the 75-question final, which is more difficult than you would expect, but still easy to do well on if you take notes and know them front to back.
