I'm in the distance course. It is not easy because you have to do a lot on your own, but he gives you plenty of time and he always answers questions via email quickly. He also sends out emails with study preparation information.
Not helpful, rude, never sends work back even if you send a stamped envelope. If you struggle in Math, do NOT take him. TERRIBLE!
He was vey helpful in this class. Before taking this course i was not very interested in math but he has changed my whole outlook. I would love to take more math courses with him.
I felt that he was completely rude. I would email him with a question and his reply always made me feel stupid. The course is extremely difficult and he wrote the book. Don't take this as distance learning unless you are a math genius.
I am an IDIOT when it comes to math, however I passed it, good teacher. He does not respond to e-mails or fails to send back work. Work with him and you'll succeed. I did so you can.

Great teacher and he is kindda hot. He made the class so interesting and he made everything easy to understand. His tests were easy if you did your homework.
Definatly going to say not to take this professor distance learning because he wrote the book which sucks and the people in the ARC lab dont even understand the material. I would send in HW and receive low grades after getting help, which I am really good at math but nothing is relevant.
What a hottie! And brains to match! I took his distance learning class & disagree with the other ratings. He responds immediately to questions and is easy to work with. He sends work back in the mail right away, and his comments are easy to understand. His tests are easy, if you do the homework.
I agree with the ratings of him being rude and not helpful AND trying to make me feel stupid with his e-mail reply. Booooooooooo !!!
I took his distance learning class, and it wasn't that hard. You have to do the evaluations, and study for the test, and that's it. I'm not a Math brain, but it is possible to get a good grade. At times he doesn't seem nice, but who always is? :-)
He warns people at the beginning of the class about how hard the class will be since you do all the work on your own. Anyone who listens to what he says to do can pass. He wrote the book and the tests are just like the ones in the book.
Hot, but definitly RUDE. Wont let you take tests at the closer campus or anything like that. Wont give you any leway, its his way or nothing. Knows the material very well, and answers ur emails and questions quickly, but with additude andmakes you feel like he hates you and ur dumb. We'll see what I get b/c I suck at Math and it seems easy so far.
I disagree with everyone that says that he is difficult to work w/. I'm not very good at math AT ALL! I think the class is pretty easy. I took College Algebra before & it is a lower version kinda of that.I think he is a good teacher. I think he gets annoyed with people that don't really care about coming to class. Do the HW & you'll be fine.
Dr. Runde is an excellent professor. I took an online class and basically had to teach myself but Dr. Runde was readily available and extremely helpful if questions arose. The coursework is very organized and all in MyMathLab (this means you don't need to buy a book).
Took his class online. Really nice professor and very helpful if you e-mail him. Is willing to help in any way. Basically you teach yourself, which is very time consuming. If you are self motivated and keep up with the assignments, this is a great way to get your math requirements in. Excellent class and professor.
EXCELLENT teacher. This is an easy mathematics course, but he manages to keep it interesting while providing students with absolutely any help they need. The online homework is well-designed and easy to use. Also, he definitely high-fived me for coming into class a few minutes late once. He's a funny guy when he wants to be.
Great Teacher, Enthusiastic and entertaining. Doesn't put up with BS, or cell phones which I find a huge distraction. Mandatory use of MyMathLab! Direct and to the point, easy to comprehend. Overall, I highly recommend him!
great teacher! Knows his stuff and you don't learn just about math you learn life lessons in his class. He's very very good!
Fantastic professor! He knows his stuff and is very funny and entertaining. I'm usually no good at math, but I found myself interested and doing very well. He may seem a bit rude at times, but is usually only that way toward the students who are talking and using their cell phones during his class. I recommend this professor to everyone!
I loved this teacher. He wrote the book, so come one, he knows everything and can break it down into the simplest terms for anyone to understand. I extremely reccommend this teacher to everyone who needs the math credit.
Runde is a very tough teacher and assigns a LOT of homework. He doesn't always cover everything in class so you MUST read the textbook and use the help in MyMathLab. MGF1106 was not what I expected it to be and I didn't like it at all. Runde wasn't very helpful either - he wants you to teach yourself.
He forgets to cover things in class and then says there's no time to cover when you ask. Is sometimes rude and refuses to answer questions. You pretty much have to teach yourself from the homework. Assigns a huge amount of homework. Throws you out of class if he sees your cell phone. Stuff learned in this class is useless in real world.
He is a very good teacher he describes everything very through and sometimes its annoying when u no the material. He does give a lot of hw bc he wants u to learn it attendance is mand. I would def. recommend him and will be taking him again
His teaching style can take a little getting used to because sometimes he rushes a little too much. Usually hw is due three times a week, gets tedious, but it does help. He is great at explaining things. But tests can be tough because sometimes you get a review and sometimes he runs out of time so you dont. Overall he's alright.
If your not good in Math don't take him he's to advances but he's helpful in away, just not a good math teacher for you if your not good in math
Math is my least favorite subject but Professor Runde's class is my favorite! He is a fantastic teacher and he cares about everyone understanding the material. He makes the class enjoyable and interesting and he ALWAYS answers any question a student has. The only homework he assigns is MyMathLab so it's very easy. I highly recommend him!
Just do the mathlab as a supplementary piece, and he's very understandable. He's the best math professor I've seen so far.
I'm not best when it comes to understanding math but Dr. Runde makes it very easy to understand,by farthe best math teacher I've ever had. My only complaint s he does not teach upper level classes.
He kicked me out for texting in class. After that I really paid attention. He's VERY good! If you listen to him in class you're ready for thetests. The final was easier than his tests.
Excellent teacher. Makes everything really simple & uses coursecompass.com for homework which is really cool, makes it super easy to alway get %100. Strict about phones and being late or tardy. Have to pay attention in this class. The tests are always from notes/warmups in class.
he relies 100 percent on my math lab to teach you, he gives you 400 examples to follow in class tells you to study those and your my math lab which is a bad program, real useful huh?
Prof runde keeps a very tight ship; however, he is a professor who is definitely willing to help anyone. I am the type who asks lots of questions, and he is the professor who answered all of them. His exams come STRAIGHT out of the notes and the final comes STRAIGHT off the old exams. I would recommend him if you are looking to learn
Rush, rush, rush, no time to answer questions. Be sure to go over your notes, but he goes so fast you don't have time to write all the steps down. He is a tough teacher that gives CRAZY hard exams, which by the way, you won't have time to finish in class. A two hour final exam had 35 questions, and 12 people in my class didn't finish it on time.
Professor Runde is a no nonsense math teacher. Attendance, as with any math teacher is strict. No phones no texting he will boot you outta class. Tests are straight out of the notes, and if you come with a good attitude, you will learn the subject, its that simple
Just like everyone else says, no nonsense, but it's completely understandable, no tolerance for cell phones, he will see you, he will kick you out, on the spot. I enjoyed his class very much, I would take him again!
Love Prof. Runde! He means business though. If you set your mind to do the work, you will have no problem in his class whatsoever. He is very helpful and will answer all of your questions. The first day he seems intimidating, but TAKE THE CLASS. You will learn to like math, because you will have a better understanding!!!
My favorite teacher at SCF thus far! Very thorough with the material and very helpful. Don't ever text in his class though and always be there, he's strict on that. Fast paced but manageable. Would LOVE to take his class again. :)
He's the best professor i had for math. Very easy, and most important, he provides the text book. He's awesome
The best math teacher by far! Just need to make sure you are in class and you will pass. He is not a fan of cell phones or leaving class early. Other than that he is awesome! Highly recommended
He's pretty strict when it comes to using your phone and looking at the clock, but he knows what he's doing and is good at it. He's pretty funny and helps you when you need it.
He is the perfect Math teacher! Just don't be messing around with your phone. He will ask you to leave if you are wasting his time, but all together he is amazing.
Awesome teacher! You will learn everything you need for the Exam. Highly suggest him!
AMAZING math teacher. Gets right to the point about what you will need for tests/exams. Love his teaching style, Example after example. Wish he could teach all of my math classes.
Very strict on attendance, cell phone use, and he watches if your paying attention. He is the best math teacher, and he will learn your name and face. Not easy though, you do have to study but he is clear about what to study. Great class I got an A.
Great teacher, knows math, very strict, NO BOOK that sucked, book is on MyMathLab, will not tolerate interruptions in his class.
Best math Professor. There is no way you will not be able to understand the material. Highly recommend this teacher!
HE MADE ME UNDERSTAND GRAPHS! I've had a hard time with graphing equations and all that for a long time but now I understnad. Do not try to text in his class though or leave before he dismisses unless you've talked with him. Do the MathLab homework, you'll be getting great practice and upping your grade at the same time. Win-Win!
He is an awesome professor! He takes the time to explain things in detail if you need him too. However, be prepared to do your homework, which sometimes can be pretty long, but it will affect your grade. Also, do not use cell phones or disrupt his class. That is a MAJOR no-no. However, if you have difficulty he will go above and beyond! He's great!
I am not math person. Algebra is difficult for me. Dr. Runde is very helpful and will answer questions. Feel free to stop him when he goes over something in class. You can also email him with questions. Do the work and visit the ARC. You can pass this class. PUT YOUR CELL PHONE AWAY, it makes him angry, which it should he is there to teach.
Dr. Runde did teach very clearly. He does not give out quizzes and he does not go over tests. Personally, I think most math courses should have quizzes that way you know you understand the material. He expects your attention for the full hour. Pay attention or you will definitely miss something! No cell phones & dont be absent!
very strict. no cellphones, no talking but really its college, you shouldn't be doing that anyway. hes very nice and funny does lots of examples before test days so you feel prepared. always wants you to succeed.do your homework and pay attention and you shouldn't have any issues doing well. also hes not hard on the eyes either ;)
Good teacher. Very rude. I would not reccommend him.
He is a great professor. He goes over each problem alot to make sure you understand it. Tests are kind of difficult you really have to study. YOU MUST COME TO CLASS AND NO CELL PHONES.
I really enjoyed Professor Runde's class, he does set a standard that he expects students to reach. Which is good because it weeds out any of the students that are there to just have a good time and not pay attention. I recommend him, especially if math does not come easy to you.
I am not good with math especially algebra. Dr. Runde was very good at explaining Math. He doesn't mess around and expects order which I liked, and he helped me understand concepts. He is willing to help even though he isn't very personable. I would recommend him. If you do the homework and attend the class you WILL understand the material.
Runde is an amazing teacher! If you struggle in math this is deff the class to take! He curves his test, the only math teacher I have ever met who does that. Also he gives you a second chance to make up all of your homework at the end of the semester so that you can get 100%. Best math teacher!
He is an excellent teacher. Very passionate about the subject. Explains everything very thoroughly. Learned a lot from his class. Also has a good personality, and funny too. Would highly recommend!!!!!
I absolutely hate math it has never been a strong subject for me but I would suggest taking Mr. Runde if you're like me ! He is a really clear teacher and explains and answers questions really well. He is very passionate about math and you need that in a teacher especially in a subject you aren't strong in. I definitely suggest him to everyone
Dr. Runde is a brilliant teacher, but he is very strict. Make sure you follow all his rules. I had a 79% in his class, and he wouldn't bump it up to a B. If you grade seems bad towards the end, he puts in participation points that brings your grade up, and lets you redo all the homework. Awesome teacher, take him if math isn't your best subject.
If you've had problems with math in the past, like me, then Runde is a must take. Super clear to the T about what you need to know, what's on the test, and what his expectations are of you. Always be 5 minutes early, he will call you out every time if you're 2 minutes late. Teaches at a steady pace and is always ready to answer questions.
Dr Runde is the best teacher to get for college algebra. Do not be on your phone and pay attention in class otherwise you will be kicked out. He will make this course very easy for you; follow along with him. The course itself has a lot of material, but you could not get a better teacher to help you through it. Review practice problems for test.
Dr. Runde yells a lot. For the first few weeks, if you forget your textbook or graphing calculator, he screams at you. His class is tough. I've always had a hard time with math, but this has been the most difficult as of yet. He seemed to be a good teacher for a few students, but I struggled much more than I needed to.
Professor Runde is a great math teacher! I have taken 2 of his classes. Very strict, DO NOT use your phone during class. He is helpful, and clear during his lectures, and wants his students to do well, especially if they put in the effort. Textbook was used in MGF 1106, but not MAT 1033; MyMathLab used in both. Definitely recommend Runde!
Mr. Runde is a great math teacher. He explains everything clearly and concisely. He is very strict and intimidating which can make asking questions difficult for most students. This was hard for me because asking questions is how I learn. He is also strict about cell phones, not having bookcalculator, missing class and ESPECIALLY being late.
Runde has been an amazing teacher this semester! Definitely intimidating at first, but his explanations make the work easy. Never before have I gotten all As on my tests in a math class until I took him! He's strict about cell phones and not talking, but honestly it just makes learning in his class that much easier. Taking him again for sure!
Amazing teacher! He goes over everything very clearly and reviews the material really well before any quizzes or tests. Lots of homework but if you do it all, the tests and quizzes are cake. If you suck at math take him, if you're good at math take him. He is strict but he makes the class easy, just take notes and do your homework.
Horrible professor! Very fast pace class and if you don't understand something oh well! He doesn't have time to explain it to you. He's rude and promotes you to stay in the class while you're failing. He has stated multiple times it's okay to fail than to drop the course. Overall I would not recommend him. And now I'm retaking the course.
He is probably one of the best math teachers I have ever had. He care about you grade and is super clear in what he expects on the test. I barely passed his class and I can still say he was a great teacher. Only down side to this professor was the last five mins of class he goes super fast to get stuff in and sometime I couldn't follow.
Dr. Runde is a brilliant professor. He cares about each of his students, and he knows exactly what he is talking about. He is very strict, but if you follow his rules then you will be fine. Do the homework and go to each class, if you do not then you could easily fall behind and potentially fail.
By far one of the best math teachers i've ever had. He's super smart and knows how to teach very well. He definitely takes class seriously and if you aren't paying attention he'll call you out, he's kinda grumpy and attendance is part of your grade. The homework is a lot of work, but he goes over everything on the tests!
Dr. Runde is a great math instructor and truly understands the material being covered. I took pre-calc and he really prepared us for what was ahead in calc by relating what we were learning to what we were going to learn in the future. Do not doze off or use your cell phone in class, and always be on time to avoid any problems. Tests are nice, too.
Professor Runde is very knowledgable on the subject but he teaches as if you already know what he is saying. He will explain if you have questions but hardly gives you time to ask them... For example: *finishes solving a problem on the board* "Any questions?" *1 second passes* "ok,onto the next problem". He is super fast passed, I couldn' keep up
Great professor! Very strict. Don't be late to class or pack your things up too soon and you'll be fine.
Best math teacher I've ever taken. Every time I took Runde I aced my class. He is heavy on homework, and uses MyMathLab, which is absolutely the most atrocious math program I've ever used, but he helps you understand the material. I hadn't aced math since elementary school, but with Runde, I did in college.
The first time I took MAT1033, I failed. When I took it with professor Runde, I passed with an A. Would most definitely take his class again.
Great professor, gives great notes and explanation, but is very strict! No phones, talking and make sure you bring your textbook everyday to class.
Mr. Runde is probably one of the best teachers at my college. He is so amazing at explaining things, and gives great feedback, as long as you ask for it. He's kind of a no-nonsense guy though, so show up, be on time, and NEVER have your phone out. I would totally take him again if I could. His tests aren't had as long as you do the homework.
Professor Runde is such an amazing math professor. He truly knows how to teach college algebra and he is great at explaining how to solve every problem. He sometimes can go really fast and it gets hard to follow, but if you get lost he always asks if anyone has any questions.
If you struggle with math, beware. This professor is no joke. He is kind, fair, and knows the material, but you can not expect to pass this class if you don't take it seriously. He works you every minute of class, and he expects you to give your full attention for that time. Don't fool around and be prepared for lots of hw. I learned/worked a lot.
Very fast paced, but if you are actively engaged, there should be no problem.
Military style teacher, doesn't put up with even a second tardiness. Felt more of a behavioral class then math.
Great professor! He is clear with what is expected, and makes lectures very easy to understand.
Best math teacher I've over had! Got over 100% in both classes I took with him. Pay attention and do what he says and you will get an A.
My only C in undergrad was intermediate. I had to take 1105 to take prereqs for grad school and I got an A in his class! Not b/c it's easy, but because he is an excellent instructor with very clear expectations. If you can't commit to being on time, with book and calc EVERY CLASS, take someone else and save yourself from being chewed out.
Without a doubt the best math professor I have ever taken, I failed while in another professor's class so I retook intermediate with Dr. Runde this time around and passed with an A. If you put the work in you will get through it with ease.
Best math teacher at SCF. If you're looking to pass math class, Runde is your guy.
HONESTLY ONE OF THE BEST PROFESSORS I COULD'VE EVER TAKEN. I DEFINITELY 10/10 WOULD RECOMMEND. BUT MAKE SURE YOU SHOW UP AND OH MY GOD PLEASE LEAVE YOUR PHONE IN YOUR BACKPACK. passionate.
Runde is an amazing math teacher. He works hard to answer every question that people ask on homework. DON'T PULL YOUR PHONE OUT. He will kick you out so fast. He gives you points on the things you do right on tests, even if you don't get the answer right.
Extremely enthusiastic about what he does. He is very knowledgeable on what he is teaching. However, if you do not do well in math, he is not the professor to take. He is very fast paced and is hard to follow if you do not understand the subject.
A cold, unforgiving, unsympathetic teacher. Another student is correct in saying he is a military style teacher. He falls in the category of typical mathematics teachers that make America's education system awful. America lags far behind in math and beating mostly third and second world countries. Professors like this are why. Avoid if possible.
Dennis is a very good math teacher, but emphasis on the word teacher. He is very strict and does not tolerate talking, phones, or anything but your attention on him. He IS good at helping you understand what it being taught, but the only way youll pass is by showing up, doing the homework (lots of homework), and passing the tests. Good luck!
Dr. Runde is a pretty solid math teacher. He has his quirks and seems to get angry with students fairly easily (his method of punishment usually involves public embarrassment. DO NOT TAKE OUT YOUR PHONE) He goes over the material in depth and makes it clear that it is the student's responsibility to review it. "stupid" questions embarrassment
I don't like math and I couldn't get the professor I wanted and Runde came recommended so I took him. He's a pretty good professor, this isn't my best subject but he teaches it well and it makes it easy to understand. He will answer any questions you have. Textbook is super important, need a graphing calc, and mymathlab access. Good class, study!!!
Professor Runde is one of those teachers that cares much about his job and if you are going to take future math classes after College Algebra I would highly recommend taking his class. This teacher has his quirks getting easily irritated with misbehaved students but if you show up "ON TIME" and "DO THE HOMEWORK" you'll do fine.
Runde teaches you the formulas using the easiest problems in the book during class. Then tests you on the hardest or trickiest questions out of the book. (he never covers those in class) Mymathlab WILL confuse you!! Runde will penalize you for using the bathroom or being 1 min late. Suggestion - buy 5 subj, notebook and color graphing calculator.
Runde is definitely a by the books professor. You have to show up on time, not be on your phone, and participate but he goes into detail with problems and explains everything thoroughly. There is a lot of homework and you have to bring your textbook to class every day which can be annoying but put in the tiniest bit of effort and you'll do fine.
Math is one of my least favorite subjects but the way he explains everything is awesome. He is a great instructor and the best math instructor I have had thus far. The textbook and homework in online on MyMathLab. The tests count the most. Be ready to do a lot of homework through this course
Pretty good at explaining math, learned a lot from taking his class. Just keep up with the homework and do what he asks of you and you'll be okay. might come off strict or brash, but he just wants you to learn. Ask questions, it's encouraged.
He is a very strict teacher and his teaching methods does not reach my expectation
Mr. Runde really knows what he is talking about and loves his job. He is helpful in and outside of class and will help you with something until you get it right.
Runde's lectures are informative and perfect, his strictness creates for a good environment for learning but sometimes goes too far with it which can temporarily hinder students. Participation in class is required, listen to his instructions exactly (get out your calculator and book out at the beginning of class). Do the work and you'll pass.
He does not give test reviews but if you follow his directions your note book should be organized well enough so youll know what to study for upcoming tests. He also uses the class period before the test to review and answer any questions. He is a very strict professor and attendance is mandatory but hes awesome.
Goes a little bit too fast but everyone has different learning styles. Can be quite strict. Hes an okay teacher.
Professor Runde changed my life in regards to math! He is a WONDERFUL professor! I have dropped out of 2 math classes prior to taking his class because math is my WORST subject. I now have a new found love for math because of this man. He is patient, well spoken, strict, and informative. Show up to class and come on time and you will be set!
It is a more difficult class if you do not do homework or pay attention in class. Be prepared to work, take notes, and practice the whole duration of the class. He is somewhat strict and can be a bit snarky, but overall he is a good teacher and goes very in depth explaining subjects, but you have to put in work.
Hes quite strict about things like phones and talking, but his lectures were helpful and fairly easy to understand. A bit fast pace if youre not a friend of math, but nothing that will crush your soul. Do the homework, show up to class, put the work in, and youll be golden.
Mr. Runde is strict, but he is a great teacher. He does many examples when teaching which helps see how to properly excute the problem. I struggle with math, but he helped me learn the concepts very easily. You must got to class becuase a lot gets covered. Do the homework as well and do not talk in his class.
He is very strict but a very good teacher, if you do the homework and show up to class you will leave understanding the material. I would reccomend him to anyone who is willing to put in the work and genuinely wants to learn math. If you are looking for an easy A, this is not the professor for you. Overall, I had a great experience in his class.
Professor Runde is very strict and likes his classes to run smoothly. If you want to mess round in this class, do not take it with him. He translates the lessons very well and I have never been taught algebra as good as he does. You will get a lot of knoweledge out of this class. There is a lot of homework, but he makes this class worth the credit.
Do not take this guy for online he will NOT teach. Literally no lectures, no teaching, nothing. He tells you examples you can look at in the book but it doesn't even cover it fully usually. He doesn't upload any kind of teachings at all like what? it sucks.
A lot of people don't like him because he doesn't like when people come late or use their phones but I love professor Runde. He's all you're looking for in a math professor. His lectures are very clear and he's available outside class for any questions if you have an issue doing the homework. He is really setting you up for success!
He teaches through examples and makes it easy to understand. The homework is through "my lab" and its easy. You can do homework after the due date and receive 75% of the score until the final exam which is nice if you forget to do it like I do. The tests are exactly like the examples in class but different numbers. FYI NO PHONES OUT IN CLASS
Worst math class I've taken. First math class that I didn't get an A. He works problems out on the board and pretty much solves them for us so not much of a chance to learn material. He goes so fast that you can count on teaching yourself. The tests have the hardest questions possible. My opinion- drop everything in your life if you want to pass.
Takes attendance very seriously, me and other students have had technology issues every now and then which causes us to join late, will keep the tardy/unexcused absence. The homework is needlessly long, the average assignment has about 40 questions, 30 if generous. Do whatever you can to pass this class! You DON'T want to take this course again
Not a bad professor but also wouldn't take again. Also was only one on my online class to ever be randomly selected to answer questions for my semester (around 3 times), which I thought was weird. I also agree with others that attendance felt a little harsh for no reason, although in my experience it doesn't hurt your grade.
Professor Runde was an amazing teacher for math. I am not good at math whatsoever but he taught in a way I could understand and always gave a chance for us to ask questions if we did not understand. I did very well in his class because he uses good examples and helps us study for test.
I took him spring 2022 for my final math class for credit. wanted something easier and that's what I got. Ive always been bad at math and I got an A on the final exam. His class was live and his notes were really detailed and easy. he was very nice, just make sure you do assignments on time.
The best taught math class I've ever taken, hands down. Prof. Runde is a great guy and is willing to work to help you understand the subject. I would love to take another math class with him.
I took PreCalc with Prof. Runde. We used my math lab. Lots of homework. But the exams were similar to HW questions. No surprises. If you understand the material, easy A. Since it was an online class, I had to teach myself. But he provides links to youtube videos, and pdfs. It was easy overall.
For a community college professor, he's wildly tough on students. Don't be even a minute late, don't get up to use the restroom, don't expect extensions or extra credit for any reason. Just overall kind of a poor attitude. Uses mylab math, expect that to be the main thing teaching you material.
I would not be retaking this course if I had taken it with a different professor in the first place. Runde is the strictest professor I've ever had and prepares lectures that are impossible to follow. He shows no compassion towards students, does not help when its needed, and never provided time for students to ask questions in class.
Professor Runde is strict when it comes to arriving late and restroom breaks during his lectures. However, his teaching style is highly comprehensible and he readily addresses any questions posed to him. The weightage of tests and final exams are 70% of the overall grade, yet he provides students with the necessary material to excel in the course.
Im so glad I chose this professor! He is strict but only because he wants students to succeed. He thoroughly taught the content and hinted at what would be on the exam. It was straightforward to understand and keep up with his lectures. This class involves a lot of homework and studying and proper notetaking in class is critical. overall good class
Honestly Dr. Runde was an amazing math teacher and he is very good at teaching the material. He is a nice guy and really cares about his students learning. Overall good teacher!
If you take this class online be prepared to WORK. It was awful, very hard to learn online and I would like to say i'm good at math. So much work it was hard to keep up. Test were difficult and no open notes. Lectures do not explain the actual material. If online do not take this class!
This is the worst professor I have ever had the displeasure of interacting with. I have a BS in accounting and am completing my MS in economics - I have been tutoring my husband through this class because prof doesn't teach. You have to do ridiculously long HW assgn. to learn the absurd amount of material & he will look for any excuse to fail you.
Professor Runde is strict but he just wants his students to succeed. He is very test heavy and has a lot of homework. However, his lectures are very clear, offers a lot of practice problems, and if you have any problems with the homework he will go over similar problems in class. He makes sure you are very prepared for the final and his tests.
Professor Runde is the reason I like math. He is very assertive and strict with attendance. However, it created a quiet, well rounded environment overall. He loves his job and actually wrote the textbook you use today! He is an exceptional professor and really believed in me. His "tough love" is what I needed all along to succeed.
Dr. Runde is a great teacher but he expects you to be present at his class (DO NOT BE LATE), follow directions, and do the work. I took a hybrid online class. Dr. Runde explains the content very well and the homework prepares you for the tests. It is a lot of work but it's doable.
I am trying to save you all from this professor. As someone who struggles with math, choose wisely.
Though he will remove some points if your 5 minutes late to class (yes even at 1 minute late if you not at your seat point will de deducted) his test are similar to the homework and the lectures it is very easy to pass and comprehend the material. Will answer your questions if you ask in the homework.
Professor Runde can be quick on his lessons sometimes so students must be attentive throughout the entire class. Very strict on the attendance; points taken off even for 1 minute late into class and no bathroom breaks allowed either. Eyes like a hawk, anyone caught using their phone or laptop will be called out for it. A LOT of homework too.
Prof. Runde has a strict attendance policy, but his lectures are clear and he's willing to answer questions. The workload is manageable - the homework helps prep for tests. Unstuckstudy was a lifesaver for studying.
Such an easy class. He explains everything very well; there's a fair amount of homework, but most of it is easy, and it's all online, so you can repeat it until you have 100%. Light work.
Overall amazing professor. Attendance IS mandatory, sometimes the lectures could be heavy but he explains it so well and goes step by step to solve each problem or question you may have. Calculator is needed for this course, and homework assignments are long but it helps you understand the material. Overall, I recommend his class, would take again.
Dr. Runde is an excellent professor. His classes are lecture heavy, but he doesn't go too quickly and everything is crystal clear. If you write down everything on the board and do the homework, you will do very well.
Not the nicest guy. Good teacher though. Definitely pay attention and NO PHONES. He is kind of scary but I learned a lot in his class. Take good notes and tests are not that frequent.
He is a great professor, i loved his teaching style and he makes sure to go through everything thoroughly. The only downside is the tests are pretty hard and sank my grade. There is a few homework assignments a week but are fairly easy, you can retry until you get it right.
I struggle with math and taking this professor was not good for that. Dr. Runde treats his class like a terrifying highschool class. Very strict no phone policy which is understandable. I was afraid to use the bathroom because I saw him yell at someone for trying to. Felt like walking on eggshells. Homework took me hours just to get bad grades.
Prof. Runde is a fantastic professor and for a person who does not perform well in math, Dr. Runde makes this class simple, clear, and easy to understand the lessons. He's very lecture heavy and does make you write a lot of notes, but the hw every night is a lot of effort and there's so much of it to do, but you can keep trying on the questions.
Professor Runde is very good at his job and is very knowledgeable. He is fairly strict, but he truly wants what is best for his students. He will answer any questions and clearly explain. Make sure to get to class on time, he is strict about that. Overall, he was a great teacher who loves what he does.
