Very smart. Kind of a weirdo, but a very good teacher. Grades VERY hard and grades harder as class progresses. Definately knows his stuff, though.

He grades REALLY hard. He's a cool guy and we discuss alot of really interesting things. We have homework EVERY night that we turn in. There are no tests and 6 papers. Unless your a pro in writing do not take this class expecting an A.

The material you study in his class is very intersting and his topics make it easy to write good papers. However, he is a tough grader if you do not write the way that he expects you to. He is big on content and "analyzing" what you read.

Class material is interesting. He is paticular on how he wants papers to be done, and sometimes its hard to get exactly what he wants, but if you try to do it the way he does it and turn in your homework, you'll get a good grade; i did.

great teacher- really interesting and really wants to involve the students. Reading assignments every night, but no attendance policy.

He is an awesome, fun, and interesting teacher. Lots of class discussion and fun stories to read. I would definitely recommend him to anyone taking english. He is so GREAT!

Most everyone recieves a B or C in the class. Hard to get an A but also hard to get a D or F if you actually go to class and do some work. Not tests of final just papers. Interesting descussions in class and is really picky about paper setup and format.

A little annoying and repetitive, very picky about format details. All essays. Liberal attendance policy, but you need to go to class for the discussions (pretty interesting) in order to do somewhat well (it is possible to get an A). Not a bad guy.

Mr. Williams is very smart and expects a lot out of his students. The books you read in his class are awesome and he really pushes you to think and work very hard.

Good Teacher.He is very helpful and always willing to explain exactly what he wants. No tests, short papers only and no attendence policy, but it is to your advantage to go to class. Highly recommend!!

Great teacher. Excellent class discussions on the reading selections. Taking this class taught me how to write. Follow directions and you will do well.

He's really obnoxious, but he encourages you to think. It's hard to do his papers, but he offers help. If you go to him, he will help you.

He is so boring and very repetitive. He just sits there and talks for the entire class period. The workshops are very stupid and boring.

the best english teacher. class discussions are really good. he is fair with grading papers and all in all a great teacher

I enjoyed his class & took it both semesters because I learned alot. Its no walk in the park, but the readings are interesting & the class discussion is allways good. If you are trying to learn how to write well, & dont mind him telling you your wrong, he is the guy to go to... but its not easy!

Has a bad rep but I enjoyed the class.I pulled an B on first essay,would have been an A, but he took off 5 pts.for margins. Interesting reading.Class wasnt too tough for me, but alot of the other kids were really struggling.so i dont really know, but i enjoyed the class, there were no tests,5 essays

despite what everyone says, he is an awsome teacher. class discusions are really awsome. his few papers are fairly hard but if you re-write them youll be fine. overall awsome teacher

Professor Williams is a ver helpful professor. He grades papers very fairly and gives decent grades for the papers as well. He's very willing to help you with whatever problems you have. Overall, a great professor and helps you understand your reading as well. Not a lot of papers either. 3 at most.

Very funny guy. He goes through his bad days though (and those are the scary days). He's very clear on what he wants you to do, and if you follow directions you'll be fine in his class.

ABSOLUTELY LOVE HIM!!!! Extremely fair grader and class discussions are really interesting and fun. All you do is read, discuss, and write essays. My writing improved a TON from taking this class. Highly recommend him.

I loved this professor. If you're an English major, he starts you off on the right foot and makes you work for your grades. His papers may be difficult, but I had no problem making decent grades on them. Keep up with the reading and pay attention, participate, and ASK FOR HELP!!

Comp and Lit. Great teacher. Very funny and interesting guy. Completely fair in his assignments. Great selection of books.

This guy is so helpful and passionate about English. Go to class and he tells you exactly what to write in your paper. He assigned the least amount of reading of any english class i took. 4 papers, no homework, no tests. He definitly looks at your papers closely, but i got a B with minimal effort by reinterating class discussion.

He tells you exactly how he wants you to write his papers. If you do that and talk with him in class you'll do just fine. I took him for both semesters of English and I made a B+ both times.

Go to class and you should do fine. If you participate it helps your grade. He tells you exactly what to write and in what format so essays aren't that bad. Only 4 papers including the final

BEST ENGLISH TEACHER I HAVE EVER HAD! Ignore all the people who flamed him. EASY! He lays out exactly how he wants you to write his papers. He gives easy hmwk & few essays. He teaches by very fun discussion that really makes you think and open up to a reading. He's funny & compassionate, holds pers conf about paper to point out mistakes b4 deadline

Good Teacher but EXTREMELY hard and demanding. You MUST follow all his nonsense in directions. I did well last semester but HORRIBLE now - analyze, analyze...it's never good enough. Take him if you're up for lots of work and well prepared. If you're a slacker take someone else, you will fail if you expect to write bad papers and not do homework.

After another English teacher even worse than him, in retrospect, he wasn't that bad. Yes, the essays were ridiculous. But he picks relatable books that weren't difficult to make sense out of. And the class discussions made sense...unlike most English classes I've been in, he has the perfect balance of him inputting and his students giving input.

excellent professor. he tells you word for word what he wants in his essays. he is always there if you need help. go to him for your essays and you will get a guarenteed a or b. he is no easy but you learn alot from this guy!

He gives you some fun books to read and he has some interesting conversations in his class, but the work load is a good bit for an english class, and he is a pretty tough grader on papers. Very Liberal, gets kinda annoying after a while.

If you have strong opinions don't take him. You will do fine if you agree with him, participate in class, and do the homework. Follow ALL his directions on essays and then it is fine. He is very helpful if you ask for it.

He's a good teacher who provides a good environment for analyzing literature. I think a lot of people forget that he's an honors teacher and that the class is supposed to be challenging. His papers can be graded a little strictly but there's very little writing for an honors course and if you go see him about your paper you won't get below a B.

VERY nice teacher. Look, he gets a bad rap, but he is straightfoward, clear, and simple. Discussion is fun if you actually participate. That is key. And he is always willing to help, he practically begs you to ask questions and give him feedback so you have no excuse for failing his class.

He is kinda boring but very straight forward. Homework is easy and you don't need to read cause he does it for you during class. Follow his directions!!! See him at least 1 time before each essay is due (he helps you find the best way for you to write your paper, but you need to get it out of him). you must ask permission to go to the bathroom

Awesome awesome teacher. Very interesting discussions and great selection of readings. He's a fair grader and couldn't be more helpful. He even has optional "help" classes before the essays are due, and he cares a lot about how you do. I took him two semesters in a row and my writing improved a lot. Definitely take him!

I talked to one of his honor students-- she loved him. I did not take his honor class, and I'm pretty sure he hated every single member of our class. He treated us all like we were slacking, irresponsible bums. Just one of those professors I will never like or respect. But if your in honors, maybe you'll have a better experience.

Mr. Williams is one of the few teachers that I have encountered who values the student's opinion and encourages open-minded and debatable in-class discussions. This class has encouraged me to pursue an English degree, and I highly recommend it to people who enjoy introspective and critical writing. This class is not an easy A.

William's class was my favorite this semester despite the fact I never enjoyed English previously. He requires a few simple and easy formatting requirements which you can easily lose points on so pay attention. He is not too tough a grader on essays and provides plenty of opportunities to conference. Class discussion made this class awesome.

I loved his class. We read novels and wrote 4 essays total on the 4 different novels. He makes it IMPOSSIBLE to fail his class. Participation, essay, writing test, and homework grades. I heard the writing test was almost impossible but its only 10% and we ran out of time to take it. Fair grader. Interesting take on novels. Great class discussions.

Professor Williams is a very interesting teacher. A very nice man, and definately helpful. He will make the path to a good grade very clear and is willing to help all of the way. I definately recommend his class, considering he bases his academic writing of of novels and plays.

AMAZING professor. I really enjoyed this class...if you are looking for a great professor who truly enjoys teaching and has insightful class discussions TAKE HIM! At the beginning of the semester has more homework assignments but quite manageable...towards the end mostly reading...he chooses great material...TAKE HIM!

He's a pretty good professor. Very laid back and will sometimes let you out of class early on Fridays. Professor Williams is truly a great english professor. He is very clear and precise about the structure that is required for assignments and essays...the only way to do poorly (i.e. get below a B) would be to not show up or to not clearly follow the guidelines which he states the first day on the syllabus...I recommend taking his course!

My FAVORITE teacher ever! I have always dreaded writing papers and wasn't really sure how. He starts from the beginning and you build your writing skills throughout the year. Papers are short and there are only 4, they have to be quality work but he teaches you how to write them. Readings are interesting. Just show up to class and you'll do great.
