Denton is a superb teacher, he shows respect and dosen't make the class boring. He wants everyone to pass, as long as your attendance is good and you really try to pass you should be good. If your struggling in your work, ask him for help and he will gladly help you.

He's great as a professor, all his work had to be done as he wanted, but you'll get to learn how to be disclipine and obey the rules he puts. It's worth all the efforts you but on the class. He doesn't fails students only students fail themselves

Prof. Tulloch is tricky. He is very nice and comprehends students life. His assignments are hard. For essays he gives topics that are not interesting at all. When a topyc is not interesting you dont have much to write about and a low grade follows. his grammar tests are not easy either. If you can, take another teacher. He gives no xtra credit.

I love this professor, he doesn't tolerate foolishness. If you come to class be prepared to work. He is very helpful and makes sure you understand before he goes on. Take him if you're serious and want to learn. HE'S GREAT !!!

I love this professor, He is tricky, but you will love him... He is really clear, and do many vocabulary tests you have to buy two books, and he gives 1 test every two weeks, he gives a vocabulary test and a chapter test, the chapter test is really easy but for the vocabulary test you have to lear 40 words, and they are really hard. Guarentee A

He is very understandable,he wants attention from all students,he respects you and wants it back,not too much homework,quiz every week in the same level but instead midterm and final are hard not that hard but harder than other and something you wont expect,he is nice at most of the times,and he is reasonable for what he says,*study for his class*

Allright guys, if you're looking for an EASY A, this isn't your to go guy. If you actually want to LEARN, then i recommend him. He loves to teach, and is very understanding. If you fail to do the lab even if its just one, you will FAIL. Attendance is mandatory.

Great Teacher, enjoyed taking his class, he is not strict, He does allow you to be late than miss a class. LAB IS A MUST TO PASS! study vocab and always provides a study guide. study that & you'll do great. provably one of my best Teachers, very helpful.

Prof. Tulloch is a professional man. He likes everyone to participate in the class. You have a limited amount of absents and tardies. All assignments MUST be completed in order to pass this class. He is disciplined, but that is a good thing because it encourages people to learn , and that is what we are there for. I am very pleased with him.

I really like him. He makes everyone participate in class and Im actually not that kind of person but he made the class a interested so you really want to be in. If you take him you are going to learn a lot, just attend to class, make homework and lab sheets and just enjoy how much you will learn :)

Tests are given every other week based on vocabulary and reading. They are not that hard, everything he teaches will be based on the test you are given. He teaches a lot of vocabulary but make sure you understand each word. Very easy class to pass.

Excellent teacher. Very proficient. Fair. Makes it clear that we he does for one he does for all, and if he doesn't do it for one he wont do it for none. (equality). Easy homework. Labs required. Strict with cellphones. Easy to understand. Overall he's amazing

Professor Tulloch will help you with everything. He makes everything clear for his students. There's an essay every week as homework; he always gives good feedback and help you to improve. The tests are essays too, and he gives 1h 30min to complete them. He made me lose my fear of writing, since English is not my first language. TAKE HIM!!

From day 1 he'll tell you everything you do to pass the class. 5 journal assignments (Requires book) the journals are is a summary of the passage and an opinion question, just do them trust me. 3 Essays which weren't too hard just be prepared for the feedback. Last but not least 1 final exam. Do the work A+

Honestly such a nice and humble man, he cares about your writing and seeks to improve it dramatically. Great class for Freshman who do not want to have a crazy hard professor, HE WILL MAKE YOU WORK FOR IT THOUGH. I passed with a B but do not regret a single day of taking his class, highly recommend!

One of the best professors I've ever had. I know this sounds cliche, but this man truly enjoys teaching and wants to see every single student succeed. Really wish I could have him for my next English class. Class consisted of 5 journals(summarize/analyze), 4 essays, 1 research paper, 1 grammar test, and 1 final.

You don't have to buy any books or read much at all. The only HW were 5 journals where you read a short story and make a very short summary. There are like 4 essays though and he is a pretty tough grader but he gives ALOT of feedback on those papers. The biggest thing you need to worry about is the research paper but you spend weeks to prepare

Very tough grader but only because he wants you to know your mistakes and strengths. He really wants you to pass. You're good if you do your assignments and he sees you put in the effort. If you want a class that is slack and you don't want to learn how to improve your English then college isn't for you.

Tulloch is a professor who actually cares and wants to improve your writing. He would correct papers and give you a chance to get a better grade if you need it(on some papers). He has office hours in case you missed an assignment, you could make it up (just email him that you're going to be absent).

Never met a professor that grades as toughly as Mr. Tulloch but still gives you chances to pass the course. Gives you the opportunity to make up work and do extra credit, but he grades essays as if he expects you to be J.K Rowling

We did essays, discussion forums, and quizzes. Instead of a final he gave us a research paper and an oral presentation. Hes honestly not that bad. He really likes to engage with us and he does ask a lot of questions. He likes to dive into the stories so make sure you read them. Oh and FYI 1 minute after the class starts, youre marked late.

I love Tulloch, although he does grade kinda tough. He expects your papers to be written by Shakespeare himself. But he is fair, if you show up and put in the work, you wont fail. The homework is online, its a lot of work, but super easy. He is very understanding and cares about what he does as a teacher. 100% will take him again

I thought he was a great teacher. He is a tough grader but he is always there to help and give advice. He gives good feedback if he sees that you're actually trying to do well.

One of the hardest classes I have ever taken. Even though Jupitered (the online grading system and where he posts assignments) said I was a ranked #2 in the class, I ended the class with a 92%.With that said, he is one of, if not the best teacher at Miami-Dade. As shown by his office hours, he is really busy, but he will make time for you to help.

He is a good professor. He is a tough grader for essay, he expects you to write as him like a professional and takes out point off if you did not do right the MLA format.

If you're a slacker, I would not recommend this class for you. Tulloch is a tough grader but he is a very caring professor and knows what he's talking about. He's great at what he does! We get 3 essays and 1 research paper. At the end of the semester he does a project in which we convert one of the stories we read into another type of genre. Attendance is mandatory, if you miss one minute of the class he already marks you tardy. Overall just participate, and do the assignments and you'll pass!

Honestly speaking, this class is cake. Make sure to read assigned text; you have 5 discussions, 4 tests and a research paper. Dr. Tulloch is a very easy-going guy as long as youre willing to put in the work, you dont have to be the best at the subject. Putting in real effort goes along way

Overall is excited to lecture and teach his students. Wants students to be involved & participate. Very hard essay grader, you will have 2 in class essays & 2 at home. Research paper & poem essay will be assigned for home. Online homework will help a lot in boosting grade. He will make sure you know where you're standing throughout the semester.

Although there are four quizzes in total plus two essays and a research paper, he gives many resources to make everything to access and understand. Also, he teaches and go in depth with everything that would be on a quiz or essay prompt, so you are always prepared.

Very engaging professor that is high spirited. He tries to get everyone to show a little participation. He only gives a few essays that are rather short in length. As long as you pay a bit of attention to his class and turn in assignments on time you will do well in his class. High recommend taking his courses.

I loved Professor Denton Tulloch, I took him for both 1101 and 1102, he's an extremely tough grader and will not reward you for slacking off, he will call on you and force you to participate or you will be marked absent. However, he has made me such a better writer and I could not be more grateful for him.

Overall great guy! As long as you participate and show that you care he will help you out when it comes to your final grade. He tries to build connections with his students over the live sessions so it makes the lectures a little more personal which is always a plus. Only downside is plenty of short assignments, time management is key w/ this class

I took this professor in 2022. This professor requires participation and if you don't answer, he literally kicks you out. Overall, assignments were easy except for the essays.
