GREAT teacher! Class is the most interesting & fun one I've ever had (this is degree 2). He doesn't cover everything from the book in class, so you have to read & study the exam guides. With the exam guides and extra credit you learn the important stuff and will do great.

Dr. B ROCKS!! He is sooo helpful and the lectures are fun because his powerpoints are full of cool stuff. I would totally recommend him for stats, I actually thought stats was easy because of him!

If you're looking for an easy class this isn't it. But you will learn a ton. His teaching style is very lively and he cracks jokes constantly. Difficult tests but some opportunities for extra credit.

Dr. B is the PERFECT professor for this class. As many of you know, STATS is NOT interesting to most, but he can some how make it tolerable! Just print all the lecture notes, read chapters and do your homework and you'll be fine! Plus his personality makes the class less boring! Also, he is very flexible as far as meeting times!

I loved his class. Many activities to help you understand the material. Do the review packets and read the book & you'll pass the tests. Final optional. Attendence neccesary. Excellent teacher. Class is not easy, but not super hard either.

One of the best teachers I ever had. keeps the lectures interesting and fun. He uses slides during his lectures which, you can view at home on his web site. Very easy class if you put forth the effort, read the chapters, do the homework (which is extra credit), and do practice quizzes on line.

I loved this class! Prof. B was a great teacher that made the material way interesting. Don't get me wrong its not an easy class. You HAVE to read the chapters and study pretty well for the tests but if you do the easy homeworks and study you'll surely get an A. I DEFINITELY reccomend taking his class!

I've had Dr. B for both PSY 101 and I'm taking him now for Statistics. This is the easiest math class I've ever had. I've gotten all A's on all the tests. COME TO CLASS, need the book for some concepts & Tables, print slides and go to study groups. Ask ?'s when you're confused-always willing to help. The best professor I've ever had!

Great Teacher. Makes Psychology interesting and fun. Tests are hard, but he gives you the first five answers which is pretty cool. As long as you study the vocab its not bad. Enjoyed the class made me want to take another psych class!

I love Dr. Borman! He is so nice, fun and knows what he's talking about. His tests are really easy as long as you study, and he does provide study guides which cover everything. In addition, he gives some open note time for a little extra help. Definitely recommended!

This class was my favorite so far. It helped to get unlimiited attempts on quizzes and homework. He's really helpful. Had interesting lectures, one take home test and a non-comprehensive final. I highly recommend this class to anyone.

Really interesting lectures, I didn't fall asleep once! He really loves his subject and is awesome at teaching it. Only thing is his tests are somewhat tough, I mostly got C's and D's on them. But if you do all the homework you should be fine. I passed with a B.

This teacher is perfect for taking an online psych course. He has the whole class outlined very well so assignments are always due at the same time so you never have to wonder if you have an assignment due or not. Test questions are very clear and to the point. If you just read the assigned chapters you will pass the class with no problem

Statistics can be difficult but Dr. Borman does a great job helping everyone understand. He is great a responding to e-mails and his class is generally very fun and energetic. Our class used an online book that he wrote. Read the book and do the homework and you will be just fine in his class. Great teacher.

I greatly enjoyed his class and the way he conducted it. Very easy to follow along with as long as you SHOW UP! The PsykTrecks and Review guides are crucial for passing exams (final is not a commutative test). Really a fun & great guy!

I took the online version of his class. Even though there is no face time, he's still extremely helpful. He emails you weekly, and lets you know he's there to help. Very fun and interesting class. Easy A if you put forth the effort.

I am just finishing up Dr. Borman's online Summer class. He is very helpful and the assignments are very clear, but the tests were difficult to me. Even after reading the chapters, doing all of the required homework, and with the book on hand, I did not do as well as I would have liked.

Great teacher. He had us go outside a few times to get us involved. He lets you use a notecard on the test which helps alot, AND he gives extra credit to whoever has the smallest writing. Just read the book and do the quizzes in the chapters. Some of the test questions are taken from the book and reworded. He gives many chances for extra credit.

This was a required class for my degree. Super hard class, probably the hardest I've ever had. At most times, I was confused on the material. Got to re-do our wrong answers on the tests for more points. Homework is hard. He's a great teacher thou!!

This class was very overwhelming at the beginning, but towards the end it become easier. He really makes the class interesting.

He does alot of things online. The last three tests were open note. He does grade things right away and posts it on canvas. He is really nice and helps you out as much as you need.

This class can be easy, but only if you actually put some effort into it. The textbook is provided by Dr. Borman and helps A LOT. He keeps everything online from the textbook and HW to all the tutorials. I did enjoy how he had the anwsers for the HW with the HW online which made it easy to check and go over the HW. He is the type of teacher who isnt really hands on instructor. I would have prefeered to taking a diffrent stats class. But overall I did learn some in this class

Awesome professor! He cares about all of us, builds us up, criteria was crystal clear, he challenged me to think. Grading was always within a couple of days, he would start out the week with something uplifting. He made the course not only enjoyable but so very educational.

I've taken a total of two statistics classes at MCC so far, and Derek Borman's class made the most sense. If you're ever unsure about what you need to do next in a problem, he will take time during class to help you one on one. For the most part his lectures make sense, but if you ever got lost he'll help catch you up in no time. Would recommend.

Dr. B is a great instructor. He really cares about his students by making sure they understand the material. He gives us time to breathe with short breaks. Studying is required to take this class since Statistics is tough. If you read the material, study and do the work you will pass. He offers a good amount of extra credit as well.

Great class to take during the summer or just in a short period! Dr. B is awesome and never fails to make you smile when you're reading his posts. Great class, The professor loves statistics. You do have to do the reading and homework and would do great. He has his own book so no need to buy a book which is a plus. During tests he lets you use notes during half of the test. READ, HOMEWORK AND VOCABULARY AND WOULD DO GREAT.

He provides an online textbook for free. You have a chapter test that is difficult unless you read the textbook and understand it. Make sure you follow instructions with the discussions. Overall, not a difficult course if you do the work.

Not often do professors REALLY put their heart and soul into a course. This man designed his own interface, videos and open source text book.

Take notes on chapters that you will remember, the tests are tough but so worth it. Having him as a teacher will save you money, he created ALL of the study material HIMSELF. This man is passionate about what he does and wants you to succeed. This is not a snooze-fest.

This class is hard- READ the ebook, make TIME for the tutoring center and WORK through the HW. Practice practice practice!! Pay attention in class, and keep good notes! Formulas save lives. I took Dr. Borman's psy 101 class online and I loved it! He's straight forward with the assignments and expectations. You're able to take the 6 exams at your leisure and he offers up to 30 points EC. He's quick to respond to e-mails. If you put the work in it's an easy A.

I loved Dr. Borman's class! He used a lot of different avenues to teach the material online, not just the textbook. You can tell he really cares about the material and the students. He gives you review guides for the tests, and as long as you study them, you'll do fine.

Very nice and laidback. Homework is super easy. I could get away with doing other homework for other classes while he lectured. He is helpful and honest. Do well on the exams and you will get an A.

Very interactive and fun. He explains things well but is not lenient with his policies. He is hilarious and is one of my favorite professors, so if you have the chance to take one of his classes, you should.

Stats is a difficult class because you have to understand the math in order to do well on the tests and homework. Dr. Borman is a great professor and he is very funny, I enjoyed this difficult class because of him. He gives plenty of extra credit and gives credit for showing up to class. Be ready to do a lot of reading and weekly homework though!

First of all, he is not only hilarious but super caring. You can tell this is his passion. Statistics is NOT my type of class. It was actually my worst one. I don't get statistics but somehow passed. That being said, he is still a great teacher and I would definitely take his class again. Lots of homework though.

Dr. Borman is fantastic! The coursework isnt too heavy and he always provides good feedback. The only drawback is the textbook. He tells you specifically to buy it brand new, but just buy it used and get the six month free trial to Launchpad which is required. Wish someone wouldve told me that before I took his class, it wouldve saved me $100.

So sad I had to take this class online because Dr. B was awesome and I wish I could have had the personal touch of being in class. THE CLASS IS HARD. PSY230 is the hardest A Ive ever had to work for, but Dr. B works as hard as he can to get you there. If this class is required and you want the best teacher, Dr. B is the best there is. Good luck

This was one of the hardest courses I have ever taken but Dr. B is one of the best professors I have ever had. He really knows his stuff and gives amazing feedback. If you really want to learn statistics take a course with Dr. B because even though I did not get an A, I learned SO much. Other profs use his tutorials to teach, so you know hes good.

The review below me is correct: Dr. B is all over the place, but we need to take into consideration that these instructors whove been in person for +20 years are still adjusting to being online. Please keep that in mind. I enjoyed Dr. Bs class. It was hard, and I had to work for my A, but hes awesome! PLEASE: Take advantage of his Office Hours!

Professor Borman was great! The class is pretty difficult so you need to do the chapter readings and all the extra credit to get a good grade. Open note exams, easy quizzes with unlimited tries. I 100& recommend him for this class. It's just a hard class!

Prof is fun, brings puzzles and cookies to class for activities. This class is tough! Best advice is to watch the videos and read the text before class. Plan to attend office hours or tutoring and pursue extra credit before you need it. Fortunately, the online exercises allow 3 attempts and tests are open-note with lockdown browser.

The text and video playlists were helpful, but class attendance (in person preferred) was mandatory to piece it all together. Open-note tests; 3 tries on problems; easy quizzes. Don't buy the textbook! You get access to the ebook when you buy launchpad. He didn't make that clear in the syllabus. Very nice professor, funny, but the tests were hard. He lets you use notes but not the launchpad homework or textbook. His study guides were not helpful to me, so make sure you read. Luckily, he offers a lot of extra credit points!

Dr. B was my favorite professor at MCC and the one who inspired me the most. He created his own easy to understand video lectures that helped me succeed in this course that I was a bit nervous about taking. His kindness and passion for psychology and teaching was evident in every conversation we had. I highly recommend taking any course with him.

If you have trouble with math or are afraid of statistics do yourself a favor and take a class from Prof. Borman. He is a great teacher! It makes the topic less scary, and I walked away liking the topic because of how he taught. He is a great teacher!

He is a great professor. There are a lot of tests in the semester but we use an online textbook and everything is made easy. Go to class and write down notes on slides. Reason I say that is because it is open note on the exams from the slides in class only. Super nice and offers very easy extra credit. I would take his class over and over again.

Prof. Borman makes this course engaging and manageable. The textbook is helpful, but Unstuckstudy proved invaluable for test prep. Attend class, take notes, and use available resources - you'll do great!

I would definitely take Dr. B's class again. There are 2 exams in the class (open note, open study guide), those being the only tests. You just have to make sure to show up and take notes. He gives lots of extra credit and attendance points too. He is very accessible to students if they have questions as well. There is a lot of reading though!
