His class is easy! All you have to do is read your notes and know that material. His exams are not very difficult if you read the notes

great guy. he cares his student and wishes them to do well. he used psychological techniques to teach his students. we need more this kind of teacher.

He is the best teacher Ive had. I actually learned the most in his class and yet it was the easiest class ive had. Isnt learning the point and not just making confusing tests? More teachers need to be like him. Most my other teachers get mad if you ask a question, but he happily answers any question

He is so cool. All you have to do is study your notes and read the textbook and you will do just fine. I had a hard time at first but I had to change my study habits and I made a "B". You are welcomed to ask questions any time. He tells you exactly what will be on the test ( no tricks )

Dr. D is an awesome professor. If you are not interested in Psychology before you join his class he has a technique in his teaching that somehow draws your attention to Psychology. He does use slids which is very helpful because you know exactly what he will have on the tests.

Professor D. is a great prof. His class is a lot of fun and is filled with a lot of laughs, when we have time to discuss issues in the chapters. There is a lot of tests in the class, but they are pretty easy becuase the tests only cover a chapter or two. Great class, take him, an easy A or B!

Mr. D is cool and is a great teacher. He will break down anything so you can understand it. He gets you into whatever you're studying, I have his morning class and it keeps me going all day. You must speak up in his class though, if you don't you're wasting extra points on your test.

Besides his cuteness, his intelligence and wit keeps you laughing and thinking in his class. There is no way you should fail any of his tests, unless you just didn't study or pay attention at all.

If I could take him again, I would. He is so funny and he teaches so well. Attendance is not required. A lot of note taking. Exams are fairly easy, if you really really study. The greatest teacher so far for me. I loved him and the subject.

I loved his class. I actually woke up at 7 in the morning for his 8:00 class. It was worth it His tests are easy if you study I got an A just from notes. Say anything in class and get extra credit.Most likely gives extra credit assignments day after tests, easy like taking a poll. Use the study guide that comes w/the book makes test a lot easier.

I have taken 3 courses ( intro, adole, Posit ) . He is extremely helpful and will work with you if you need help. He takes attendance and his weird about people come and going during class.Overall his a great prof

Hybrid course so you only meet once a week. You will need the book b/c he covers a chapter a week. Professor is cool and really helpful outside of class. Quizzes are difficult and the course load consumes a lot of time, i.e. papers, quizzes, reading chapter, study questions. Expect to put forth a lot of effort to receive an A or a B in this course.

Good teacher but class is extremely hard. Unrealistic amount of work. The test are quite difficult and usually run out of time so you have to guess at the end. He respons quickly to emails. You have to go the main campus to take your final even if it is an online course. Difficult because says to use books for tests online but for final you cant.

I did not feel like he was a fair professor. The paper in that class was extremely difficult and it was worth only 15% is should have been worth more! He helps you out but gives a lot of work and there is a lot of reading and writing with articals on top of everything else you do in the class. I would recommend him but not highly. Was not pleased.

Loved this class!! made an easy "B" you MUST attend lectures and take good notes, dont just read off the powerpoints. You dont need to buy the book if you come to class and take notes plus use his powerpoints so its a win win. His Intro class is easy, he gives alot if extra credit. You will take 5 test. Pay attention to BOLD TYPED words. EASY "A"!

Clear, helpful, interested in his students, active on campus, great professor. He gives you study tips that if you follow & pay attention during lecture jsut about promise you will do well in his courses.

if you want an easy A and a fun class, you've gotta take this guy. very funny. even if you don't want to go to class, you'll feel like you don't want to miss out on his jokes. overall, an easy class. just read the powerpoint slides and you'll do great.

He's a very good teacher.i was always lookin foward to comin to his class.you do not need 2 take notes cuz u can print out his notes on blackboard. but i recommend u still take ur own notes thou. u dont relly need the book.only a few times when he tells u to read somethin. multiple choice tests.overall. very godd teacher! recommend him to anyone!!

He was a great prof. if your interested in psychology otherwise i think you might fail. all notes were on powerpoint, which are easy to learn if you remember his examples [ which means you have to go to class ] but if not just read the book if you dont understand a word and youll get an A

use the slideshow notes and study them. thats basically it. good professor, interesting if your into psy if not it will seem like nothing but talk.

De la Pena is super cool. I took this class online, made an A, but it wasn't as easy as I thought it would be! Keys to an A: at least skim the chapters prior to the tests, study ch. highlights and , do all discussions and labs, and DON'T wait til the end of the semester to start your paper! I'd take the class again...

For an online class...easy, reading is a must and paper requirement was 10-14 pages w/ at least 10 references. Online tip...check everyday because discussions pop up and close with out warning and do not wait until last minute with coglabs. I made a B and never studied.

TAKE THIS TEACHER. He is a great teacher that loves what he does. Very easy class, gives reviews before each test, curves test, and gives you many opportunities to make an A in the class.

Dr. D. is the best professor I have ever had at UHD. I will sign up for any class he teaches. Everything he does is clear: lectures, powerpoints, and study tools. You will love this class.

REQUIRES A LOT of logging on mid week and odd times for completion of work. Almost always during the wk, so don't count on wknd to finish. A little unrealistic final.either have to take day off to make day final (comprehensive) or write 25pg paper w 12 articles cited.Thinks paper is "skating by". Dr D. is the one of my favorite professors. He's very funny and made us laugh everyday in class. The way way he lectures is interesting because he has personal stories that are realted to whatever he's lecturing on. He gives extra credit which helps out a lot. I passed the class with a B. Just study for the slides for the tests. TAKE HIM!!!

Interesting class. I really enjoyed what I read in the book. I don't think I absorbed much since it was an online class in summer one. If you work full time, have kids, and are taking other classes...DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!Extremely time consuming!

Lecture is on PP, and he uploads them to Vista. He uses personal stories to relate the material to everyday life. If you go to class, you'll do well. Two thumbs up.

Does not play around- very strict rules for the class, but that's a good thing. Amazing teacher, who really makes his course and the 3 tons of material, as easy to digest as possible. Is huge on Positive Psych. Lots of extra credit opportunities. If you fail, it's because you didn't listen, or can't read.

He was AWESOME!! Provides slides so that you're not writing as much so you can listen to him. Relates the subject to life experiences. Doesn't take attendance but you should go anyway.

Great teacher, took online in Spring. Weekly discussions from psy articles/videos; easy quizzes but timed, you need to study; weekly activities for which you have to write a final paper; final is comprehensive & in-person, but easy, straight from final guidelines. Provides useful feedback to discussions. Replies promptly. Class is WORK!

I ENJOYED THIS CLASS THE MOST OUT OF ALL THE CLASSES I HAVE EVER TAKEN AND I AM A SENIOR. THE PROFESSOR MADE IT EVEN MORE INTERESTING. HE WAS AWESOME!!! I WISH HE TAUGHT MORE CLASSES SO I COULD TAKE THOSE AS WELL.

took positive psy online. great class Dr. De La Pena is helpful. Quizzes come from power points. one discussion a week very easy. no exams only final at the end. good professor to take.

He is an excellent professor! He is very positive and really wants to encourage his students. I took Positive Psychology and found it to be an excellent course.

Took a hybrid Intro to Psych class. Prof was upfront about his expectations for hard work; book was a must-have! He gave good lectures, provided PPT slides and assigned weekly study questions that were helpful in preparing for exams. M/C tests, 75 questions, final was non-comprehensive. Not much extra credit opportunity.

Professor De La Pena is a good professor. His class was very interesting.I took positive psychology online this summer and it was tough. YOU MUST READ AND STUDY DAILY. We had 7 discussions, 7easy quizzes, activity notebook and you have an option do a comprehensive exam or a essay.

Such a great prof! Really kept class interesting and the questions he has you do before class are very helpful. If you do the questions and come to class I think it's a pretty easy A. Definitely my favorite professor I had this semester.

Great professor! Gives great examples as to what he explains. Makes the class fun and interesting while still staying on point with the lessons. Attendence is mandatory as every class you need to submit chapeter reviews for attendence. Tests are easy if you do the chapter reviews which are straight forward. I recommend you take his class!!!

Dr. D was very helpful, gave clear expectations, and I learned a lot from this class. If you are looking for a class where you don't have to do much, this is not the class. It is easy in a sense that he gives you all the information you need to make an A, and it is very interesting stuff. It is a great class!

I learned so much in this class. You MUST study and you MUST come to class, but if you're willing to participate engage and listen to what he says then you are going to be fine. I should have received an A, but I didn't and that was my fault... he doesn't GIVE any grades and makes that clear though, not afraid to fail you but is still a good person

This course took some time to get use to. Overall there are 12-13 discussions and you must reply to at least 4 classmates and read all of the entries to get an A for your DB. There are no less than eight exams. You must open the links, this will count towards your participation grade. He is fair. You need the textbooks to pass.

Took this course online. The professor was readily available through email and responded quickly. Syllabus was useful, but slightly disorganized. He required a lot of participation in online discussions, and there were a lot of relatively short quizzes (25-35 questions). Quizzes are timed and you can't go back to change answers, so you must study.

This class will change your life mainly because of what you will learn. Additionally, DelaPena is a great professor who is very clear on what he wants and gives feedback afterwards. CONS: you WILL need to read for his quizzestests, everything else is cake. Good luck

He is a wonderful teacher and passionate about what he teaches. His tests are tough (not much time, only one chance at your answer), but he makes up for it by providing audio lectures and being very responsive to questionsconcerns. I got an A but worked for it. He is respectful but firm and clear on everyone's potential to be a brilliant student.

Waaaaaay too much work! Take him if you are only taking one class. Quizes every single week over two chapters. If you have a lot on your plate this class is not for you. You HAVE to read and STUDY to pass this class. I did way more for this class than for my other 5 put together. Don't take him! You'll thank me later

He's a great professor. Lecture only so each of the 4 tests determine your grade. Go to class, copy the powerpoint notes, read the book and you will get an A. He makes class interesting and will explain something again if you don't understand. It was my favorite class this semester!

Dr. D is a good professor but he can be a little confusing. I am an all A student and still got a B in his class. His tests are hard but overall he as a person is amazing. I cannot say to not take him because you would be missing out on a great lecturer. I respect his man a lot but bc of my gpa I will not take him again.

Dr. D was very kind and this class was interesting. There was a lot of reading and lots of assignments. We needed 3 books but only used a few pages from 2 of them. Some of the coursework is a little redundant and time consuming. Do the work, listen to the voice lectures, use the PowerPoint slides and you'll get an A.

Honestly he is a definition of a professor!! You put in the work and get good results. His lectures are amazing and you come out learning something! I would take him again!! Honestly he's amazing.

Discussion with no specific word count, one test, quizzes and activity notebook. None of which are too demanding. Don't wait till the very end to do the notebook. Easy grader, quizzes are pretty limited on time BUT questions are all from the book and readings so long as you browse or read the text you will be fine. Definitely would recommend .

Dr. D is inspirational. His upper level courses are more rigorous, but PSYCH-1300 was a relatively easy course. Take him for this class; you won't regret it. He's a great lecturer, and more so, a great mentor.
