i quarantee that you will love him. he will tell you a lot of skill on studying, and he is nice. i know him. he is also my friend. if you don't choose him you will regret.

Because my last comment was rather innapproiate i figured i'd send the real one. Mr. Levine is an outstanding teacher. He has taught me a lot and has broading my horizons. I would def. reccomend him for any course. Hes always there to help you and is easy to get a hold of for office hours when i needed help with the course work.

He's deffinatly on smart cookie. I learned a lot from him but, he is very cocky and arrogant at times but, i guess that comes with the territory when you have a background like he does. I would reccomend him to anyone!

Great Professor. Hes very motivating and inspirational. I've learned a lot from him. Hes one intelligent profoessor. CSI should wear the shirt that says "I'm stupid" if they lose him! We all love him. Hes the best!!!

He is extremely knowledgeable and is always willing to help his students. If you have much interest in the subject you can learn a lot from him. He understand that not everyone is a history major and designed the class so you can learn and get a decent grade. Get ready for class discussions & some work.

BEST TEACHER. I highly recommend to take him if you're looking for someone to take your COR credit with. Everything is about his notes, and with every test he gives... he gives a big review sheet the week before with questions all based on notes and COR book and lectures. Very great teacher, and also has a great sense of humor and sarcasm!

Prof. levine is the best history professor ever. He teaches history, but talks a lot about philosophy and life. He teaches us the reality of life, and to think rationally which every decision we make in our lives. As far as tests go, there are 3 with a big review sheet. He also gives a paper as extra credit

Great class. Doesn't take attendance but you need to go to class for essay based exams. Goes off topic sometimes but he always relates somehow. Really Philosophical. 2 take home exams and a TAKE HOME FINAL consisting of 3 essays. He was very lenient with my class. Easy A

Walked into the class hating it but by the end of the semester it wasn't that bad. Take really good notes because they will help you when writing an essay. Test are pretty easy. Does go off subject but ends up connecting everything. Good teacher, I would recommend him to anyone who needs this class.

I would definitely recommend this professor. He truly has a passion for the subject and explains the material well. Tests are straight forward and take home essays aren't too bad. If you come to class and pay attention you shouldn't have a problem getting a good grade. Wish he would teach other classes I need, would love to have him again.

Honestly a great guy. He genuinely wants you to do good. Sometimes it feels like she cares more than the students. He gives curves and his lectures aren't boring. He's funny and makes sure you really understand. Great person. I would definitely take him again.

Really kind and funny. However, not the best instructor if you really want to learn politics and follow the textbook. Class material doesn't correlate much with textbook material. Tests are based more on textbook than his lecture notes. He gave my class a research paper to boost grades as some were failing. Likes when you participate a lot.

Honestly a really good guy. He seems like he wants you to do good, and even gave my class a 10 point curve on the 1st test as a lot of people didn't do so well. Personally, though, his lectures are lacking. You need to read the textbook thoroughly in order to do well at all. He gives 50 question multiple choice quizzes, and they aren't easy.

What an amazing class, three tests are your grading criteria and the review sheet is the exact test. Spoon feeding the information on tests, Yes attendance is mandatory but, you almost never stay the full time and sometimes get let out almost 40 min early. He is a great guy and understanding of any special circumstances. Definitely take him!!!!!!!!

Professor breaks down info for the layman when needed. Enjoyed class learned a lot 3 exams and extra credit paper. Not easy exams but if you read book and take notes you should get a good grade.

Professor Levine was the best professor I had so far in my college curriculum. There were 3 books assigned for us. To be honest you can just read the summary of those books online and you will be more than good. Very down to earth guy. No Hw just 3 exams. The exams are very similar to what he teaches in class.

Derek Levine is an asset to The College of Staten Island. Non-stop learning without any hassle or roadblocks. This professor is a genius and I could listen to him all day long. He "gets it" and will pass it along to you. I highly recommend.

A great professor who really enjoys teaching and encourages students to participate and add to the class. Easy going professor, helps you a lot. Exams are good, not too hard and not too easy. Take notes , listen to what he has to say and remember to read the book. If you do, you will pass with a good grade.

Professor was perfect for teaching this course during an election year. Very informative, knowledgeable and clear in what he wants. Exams and papers were posted on Blackboard and easy to upload. Made things simple.

Prof Levine was amazing especially having him online. His instructions were very clear and watching his lectures helped a lot when doing his exams. (DEF take notes as you watch his lectures). He is a lenient grader and as long as you answer the questions clearly it's a guaranteed A. His exams are short response and essay so it's straightforward.

This guy is pretty cool and knows how to make class entertaining with students. All you have to do show up and study for the exam. Usually the class before the exam he would do a review so get your pencils and papers or laptops ready.

Great professor. If you take his online POL 100 course make sure you complete the weekly essay assignment using as much of the page limit as possible. Show that you read and understood the topic assigned. Do the same for the exams (which are more essays) and you will do just fine. Each assignment and exam has a 1 week due date which is nice.

Professor is very nice. Grade was low because I didn't study enough for exams, but read the book and study for the tests and you will pass with flying colors. Classes are interesting and he is funny.

The professor is engaging and passionate about the material. While the exams are challenging, reading the textbook and using resources like unstuck study can help you succeed. Definitely worth taking!

I don't know what the student below is talking about. We had one assignment which required summaries of multiple chapters. Every week, there are list of Podcasts, YouTube Videos and Reading to compete followed by a list of essay questions to answer that covers the assignment for the week. Highly Recommend the professor for those who are interested.

Nice Professor. His class is very interesting and even enjoyable, there is 1 assignment every week for which you write paragraphs based on the textbooks and that's about it. I would recommend him to anyone.
