He's a pretty awesome professor and hates being bored just as much as you do.

He is a pretty good teacher. His class is not boring, he makes it fun and enjoyable. My advice is to not take the Flex class. everything is crammed into 3 hours and its a little rough, but he made it fun. Good teacher!

Best teacher ever,could tell he was a nerd in school, but grow up 2b cool.A don't think he knows how much good of a teacher he is. The chicks like him but are afraid 2 tell him, 4 he always talk about his wife.

Great Prof!!!! Explains class notes and lectures well. Very helpful if you meet him during office hours. You don't need extra credit for this class if you study and actually put forth some effort. Very relatable to students. It's obvious he likes what he's doing!!!! I recomend taking his class if you are interested in Psych!!!

This is the best teacher ever. He is really fun and funny. If you fail his class you simply are not doing your part. He is very helpful and flexible. You have a test every week but there is no REAL final or midterm. Two papers you write from experiences you've had. Like I said if you fail you are not doing your part. PERIOD!!

Great Prof. Very flexible when it comes to making up tests. There is 2 essays for the class but if you take it into his office he reads over to guarentee an A. No other professor helps you that much to get a subject right. Interesting lectures and his jokes are funny because they relate to when I was a kid. Highly recommend taking his class!!!

Great professor! He is helpful; you really do not need the textbook. All quizzes come from the notes, he is easy going, I recommend him to anyone. If you struggle through his class, just do a good job on the 2 papers and you?ll be fine.

I can't believe someone would advise not to take him. This professor is helpful and easy. The class was super easy so its pretty much up to you if you want to fail or pass. If you fail its because you missed class, tests, papers, or just simply didn't study. His notes were so detailed that we didn't even have to read the chapters,just study.

Hes a very helpful professor, tests come exactly from his notes. You dont need to buy the text book because its never used at all. Allows you to use laptops in class. And over all the best professor ive ever had.

Incredible! V easy and funny. No finale and ch. quiz every week from the notes- you dont need the book. Makes psych so fun and interesting. Lets you make up quizes without penality whenever you can- even the day before last class. 2 easy opinion papers- just follow the rubic and youll be fine. You will learn even though its a pwrpnt class :(

BEST PROF EVER! test every week. he drops one though. but if you do well on all of the test then you don't have to take the final! i highly recommend him! i studied the day before each test and ending up passing with a B. and u can make up a test whenever you want! highly recommend him! and he gives great examples! :)

Derek was an awesome teacher. He didn't just lecture about the whole book.We had fun and watched videos related to chapters. Derek is really funny. If you decide to take his class you will learn and have a blast. Ladies he is really cute too.

His notes were clear and concise. He made sure the class understood the material by explaining with examples and showing videos. This method made the class more interesting. His test are a little challenging but if you study and know the material well you will get a satisfying grade. He gives extra credit question for every test.

He is a very good teacher. I wouldn't say its an easy class and you can just breeze by. You definitly have to study, but he gives you all the tools to study for the tests. He definitly cares about what he teaches.

Best professor I've ever had!!!! You have a test every week but its on the class notes of week before, and if you take good notes you'll pass no problem! He drops lowest test grade and final is optional! He makes class interesting, and explains everything until the class understands it! Definitely take his class!

I took him for Psych and Dev Psych. Easy, has a 20 question test every monday(tues for tues/thurs classes) on one chap, notes on ppt, everything u need, Psych you dont need book, but Dev you do mostly for the papers. two 3-pg papers, dbl spaced, grades easy(55 pts each, helps grade alot)

He's nice and he's helpful and the class is "ok" I thought he did an average job but its not that hard if you do everything when you should.

To be honest, this was by far my hardest online class. You really have to study to get an A. However, he is a fair professor and I would recommend taking his class in person than online. His test are timed and the ?'s are too long for such a short time given to answer them. All in all, I enjoyed the class.

Great prof., funny, and cute. Take notes from powerpoint, don't need textbook. As long as you study you can get an A. Test on every chapter, and lowest test is dropped. Highly recommend taking!!!

I highly recommend taking the actual class instead of online. His lectures are interesting, funny, and he shares a lot of his experiences making examples & concepts easier to remember. You won't get that online--instead, you have to read the book (long & BORING chapters!!) Test every week & 2 easy papers. Easy A if u put in a little effort.

This was an online class. He was very helpful. It was a pretty easy A, just a lot of reading to do. All psychology classes have a lot of reading. There were weekly quizzes and 2 papers to write. As long as you do the required work, it is an easy A.

Very helpful! Took online class. A lot of reading but very helpful when taking tests. His two papers are easy! I got A's on both! Beware of his 1st test! LOTS of info in that chapter! 0 disussions, 0 assignments, 13 tests, 2 papers, and an extra credit round up test (final) but it's not mandatory. OH, tests are timed.19 minutes for 15 questions!

Great Teacher. He is clear about his expectations and is a calm reliable teacher. If you don't come to class you will miss his lectures which you will be tested on weekly. He rarely puts his powerpoints online and the book is useless in this class as he teaches from his notes. Awesome teacher. I will miss him next semester.

Derek was a fun teacher, I did enjoy his class. You take a lot of notes and have a test after every chapter (every week) so if you do not like that style of learning, I would not recommend taking him. He is funny and tells stories a lot and shows interesting videos. I would take another one of his psychology classes for sure. He is pretty cute also

He is a good professor, there was a test every week.. a lot of note taking. If you are taking a lot of classes I would suggest not to take him because you have to study every week. He also drops the lowest test grade. He is really sweet, funny, and yeah.. good looking.

Derek was a great instructor! He is quite funny, and has a good background of knowledge in his lectures. The 2 papers are not difficult. The tests can be hard, due to them being very short, so the questions are worth a lot of points. He is always willing to help students, and is pretty laid back.

He is very strict quietly, but a good teacher... tests are every week, kinda hard.. If you are study hard, you will passed... Easy class!

It was an ok class. He needs to speak louder. Every week one test isn't fun.His questions are short complicated essays about the definitions he is asking. If English is not your first language than be careful.His lectures are the identical chapter outlines from the book. Have your book ready cause that's the source to study for exams. :/

He is a very good professor. If you study, you will get an A. I took both classes-online and on campus, not much difference. And he was always easy accessible and helpful. Take him!

Hes a great teacher. Can be kind of opinionated, but thats what the class is about. Tells lots of stories and is quite funny. be ready for a test every monday and lots of notes!

LOVE THIS CLASS! Very funny and cute. He keeps it interesting with videos, examples, stories and powerpoints. We dont use the book at all and if you take very careful notes you WILL know the main points and can study from that and ace the tests! There is work like research papers, and a test almost every week but im in the flex class.

1st off, you don't really need the book, unless you're a slow learner, or not an A student. His notes are GREAT, and the test are exactly like the notes. No confusion about where he came up with his test questions. I had a flex start class. He made it FUN, and INTERESTING. He curses too much though, and I found that immature. Good teacher though.

Mr. Schorsch is a reallllyyy good psych teacher. He really helps you understand all the concepts, and his tests are super easy as long as you take notes and study them beforehand. We only have to write 2 essays and their not hard. He's super funny and i highly recommend him!

One of the best professors teaching at Valencia. He sets up the class in a way that if you try you will succeed. Very helpful, explains everything perfectly and provides insite as well as stories. I got an A in the class and can say the way that he taught the class I remembered tons of information he taught. Scorsch Rocks

Great guy. Very supportive of his students. I'm taking his online class, only two blogs to post, 15 question test each week, and two papers for the semester. Just read the chapters and you will pass.

Easy as long as you come to class. Test every week, you don't really need the book. He has a nice sense of humor and you'll learn a lot from taking him for Psychology.

No need for a book. His class is very interesting, must attend or you'll be lost. You have a test every week, but trust that its surprisingly helpful. I procrastinate like no other and yet the class was a breeze. He is overly opinionated, and has a corny since of humor. Other wise he makes the class worth taking.

Awesoome prof. keeps class interesting and fun. bought the textbook and didn't even use it. u take notes on the chapter, then a test. Very easy..as long as u study ur notes. gives extra credit :) which helps. two papers to write and they're like two pages each. overall easy and fun. he will make u laugh and really entertains the class. ^-^

gives tests every week so that you wont forget what you learned in the chapter because there is alot of info. He is extremely funny but practical. There are two papers that are very easy. He grades quickly and not to harsh, but you have to follow his instructions.

FANTASTIC! His video lectures are very interesting and informative. As long as you read your chapter and do your assigned work, you will do well. Online class required two 3-page papers, weekly 15-question tests, and periodic discussion board posts. Only reason to get less than an A would be due to laziness or if you're horrible at writing papers.

This was a great professor. Notes were very clear and gave you everything you needed for the test. He does test once a week, which sounds like alot, but it helps in not forgetting information. If you take good notes, you will not need the book. I got an A, didn't have to take the final, and never opened mine. Three papers, all easy. Cool teacher.

Loved this professor! I am taking him for developmental next semester! He his very funny and down to earth! His lectures are fun and notes are great, he gives a study guide for each test! Study that and you will be fine! I never really used my text book, I studied my notes for every test.

DONT take him! He is very organized on his class but his tests are hard! He grades his papers like he is an english teacher & hes not! If I had the chancce to do it over again I would NOT take him!

If you pay attention, and study for your test, his class is enjoyable and very entertaining, and also very easy. I paid attention, went over my notes and passed with a B - and took him again for Dev. On a side note, he doesn't like cell phones, he's very particular, he loves soccer, and Rick Astley. I suggest taking English before you take him. :)

Best teacher I've had. He explains everything so well. The notes he gives are basically the same information on the tests. We barely use the book so it's easy to study from the notes for tests. I've never been so interested in a class. He keeps you occupied and learning the whole time.

Great Teacher. Any Negative comments come from the slackers in the class. Offers ALOT of extra credit and drops lowest test scores. With minimal studying you can achieve an A if you listen in class. The book is not mandatory but helpful.

Seriously the best professor I've ever had. You have to come to class, take notes, and pay attention in order to receive good grades (duh). But he makes it easy to ENJOY the class! I never wanted to miss just because of how much I loved his lectures. TAKE HIM you won't regret it, especially if you want to walk away LEARNING something :)

This guy is hillarious and really enjoys teaching. If you show up to class and pay attention to the lectures then the test is easy. You don't really need the book. He offers plenty of extra credit oporunities. He asks for 3 2-page papers throughout the semester but there's very little research needed and super easy.

Profesor Shorsch is so funny. You can tell he enjoys teaching and is very interactive with his class and knows his stuff. If you come to class take notes and read its an easy A. Hes great i really enjoyed his class.

Grade consists of tests and 3 papers. Very entertaining class and you can tell he enjoys teaching. There is a 15 question test every week but if you really study every aspect of your notes from the lecture, you will be fine! Many people in my class used the book, but honestly I did fairly well and just read my notes. Many extra credit opportunities

Really fun class. Derek is nice, hilarious, helpful and his power point notes are easy to understand. There are 3 papers and a quiz every Monday on the previous chapter but they're easy as long as you read the book and go over the notes. Probably one of the best professors at Valencia.

Nice & super funny. He presents great slides that make it easy to makes notes and study, however he is super critical on grading papers. Doesn't care about MLA but will deduct for to many spaces inbetween words. He's tests suck !! It's not just learnin the book definition but knowin how it will apply in life.&& He doesn't budge on grades.

Great Professor!!!!! Take him!!! He makes topics interesting and understandable. Had him once a week and he gave us a 15 question quiz/test that was straight off the notes we took in class. Just study the notes and you'll do great. Passed with a B+ and i barely studied! Took him for Gen. Psych. and now taking him for Dev. Psych.!!! Great!!!

I took Derek for Gen/Dev Psych but I honestly wish I had him every semester. He's SO hilarious and makes this subject really enjoyable. There's 2 -3 papers, very fair tests and plenty of extra cred opportunities. The final isn't comprehensive which is awesome. Didn't buy the books and got a B in both classes. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND TAKE HIM!! :)

This was a good class. It covered a lot of material. My only critique would be that the lectures were older and followed a different textbook. They were still good. The class was pretty easy as long as you read and study. The learn smart modules were very helpful.

He is amazing. Great notes, great personality. Overall awesome guy. Theres a quiz every week. And the final is just another quiz. You have to do 3 papers. Very easy. If you miss a quiz, he gives you until the end of the semester to take it. But papers are not accepted late. Take his class, his teaching method is awesome.

Pretty Good Teacher we had 4 papers and we had a test every two weeks or so 50 questions multiple choice they are very easy every test question comes out the notes and the class sections....

I took this class online. There was a lot of reading and it definitely helps to actually read instead of skim. You have one homework assignment per chapter but it's really graded on whether you did it or not. Then there's a 50 question test at the end of each unit and a couple essays. The professor is super nice too and is clear in what he expects!

i just have to start by saying he is SO cute. hes young and is easy to relate to and makes the class relevant and interesting. SO MANY EXTRA CREDIT OPPORTUNITIES. tests are not bad at all, based off power points which are online. i like him so much i'm taking developmental psych with him too. YOU WOULD BE STUPID TO NOT PICK HIM!!!

Probably my favorite professor I've ever had. He's hilarious and gives really good examples that help get his point across. He likes class discussion but it's a class that you want to participate in. There are 3 easy papers and online modules that are easy 100's. Tests are based on powerpoints and some chapter readings.

This class is easy if you put in the effort into writing notes,read the chapters, and doing the online modules. 3 fairly easy papers, if you go to him with any questions-he's more than willing to help. Also there are sooo many extra credit opportunities for you not to get atleast a C.

This class was very interesting, and partly because Derek was able to connect with the class and give great examples. He's a laid back, funny professor who's very helpful. Don't just rely on the notes he provides and the powerpoints. Read the chapters and actually understand the concepts. The test won't be so hard if you follow that. Great prof!

This class isn't easy to pass. A majority of the class did not get higher than a C. Tests are extremely hard. He does make class lectures funny and interesting.

This class is very easy because the material is interesting and the professor is comical about it. There are 3 tests, online modules that are combined to equal a test grade, 3 papers and a final. Should be able to get an A by taking notes and paying attention, i didn't buy the book,but would recommend it.

I am taking a second class with Derek. He is just a very nice person, overall, and always helps his students. Grades super fast. Very respectful and laid back. He seems to love his subject and his job. I really dislike professors that don't care about their own class. Derek is not one of those. Take him! The class is easy. Great teaching style

This class was a challenge, but well worth my time and effort! Professor Schorsch is is a great teacher! He demands excellence and intelligent thinking from his students. Lectures are fun and engaging! Tests are somewhat intense and tricky; make time for studying. Everything is designed to see whether you've really grasped the material.

Derek is really cool. I took him for General and Developmental Psych. Lectures are long but interesting and informational. If you dont like reading the book you better pay attention in class. He teaches very well but test are somewhat difficult. I took developmental as a hybrid and I'd have to say taking the test online was less stressful. Take him

He is funny and makes the lectures interesting. Tons of Extra Credit Opportunities for going to presentations. Take good notes and write down the examples he gives when covering the powerpoints you will see them again. 3 papers that aren't that difficult. 4 tests covering 3 chapters each. Final is just the last test. Take him you wont regret it.

He grades papers and responses in his hybrid classes pretty toughly so be careful, also he branches a lot out on the subject in each chapter so attendance is pretty important, also he explains things that aren't very clear in the text which is super helpful. He's a cool guy, dry humor at times, but still funny.

Didn't use the textbook, only for the 4 papers he assigns during the semester. Modules for every chapter (take forever). Final was not cumulative, overall the class was awesome. He's super funny so take him in class cause his online lectures are really bland ( he told us).

Has 3 (easy) papers, class is dedicated to very useful powerpoints and lectures. Makes everything clear and is easy to work with. Gives plenty of extra credit opportunities. USE THE NOTES he puts on Blackboard. Use everything he puts on blackboard. It was so easy if you would just pay attention. Tests are all multiple choice with hella extra credit

He is a really interesting professor. He knows how to appeal to students, and keeps them interested. There was no group projects which was a huge plus for me. the tests can be tricky, but staying on top of the Learnsmart modules and studying his notes makes the test very doable. He gives out plenty of extra credit opportunities. Really cool guy.

Im taking him now for developmental psychology i'm about half way done but so far he is super nice and helpful. He answers emails right away and guides you through things. Defiantly a professor who wants you to do good. He always leaves good fed back.

An ok class for online; read your textbook and you will be able to pass quizzes easily. Very subjective grader on papers, more his opinion than facts. He says he's not critical on your APA format but then rips your paper apart on every little aspect of APA that isn't followed, yet he has never given any direction or instructions on APA format.

Developmental psychology over summer is A LOT of reading! Derek broke it down and made it actually doable though. The tests are fair and on topic with what you learn. We had 2 papers and both had pretty clear instructions & he offered multiple times to review them for you. I would absolutely take his classes again! I highly recommend him. VERY Fair

He's a really cool guy but sometimes how he grades can be a bit much. Make sure you go above and beyond for all your papers

One of the best professors I've taken at Valencia, not to mention the most beautiful guy ever haha. I actually failed his class, but I have never taken out and learned as much as I did in his class.. Very good personality and amazing lectures! Would highly recommend for psychology.

I enjoyed his lectures! He's a very interesting man. I would take again. He doesn't grade hard on his papers as long as you try. His tests aren't hard. Lots of extra credit opportunities and he truly cares for his students.

If you can, take him for Psychology. His lectures are amazing, he's interactive with his students, and he's hilarious. He prepares everyone for the tests very well and I enjoyed being in this class very much.

He's a great professor, and is passionate for the subject. His tests are tricky but if you study you'll do fine. One complaint I have is that sometimes he spends too much time answering people's questions which leads us getting off topic a lot, and getting behind. Which isn't his fault, but I wish he would wait for the end of class.

AMAZING PROFESSOR. Took his hybrid class and as a full-time student I obviously had to work hard but the experience was amazing. He makes the lectures super interesting and he is super funny so that helped me a lot. Learned SO much. His papers are not hard at all and he is always willing to help you & give you good feedback if you need help.

He was a great Professor. Took online. He was quick with responses and gave you a chance to turn in your papers to him before due for some feedback. The papers weren't extremely difficult (2 pages). If you put minimal effort in this course you will pass. If you do your assignments and actually try, you will pass with an A. 10/10 would recommend.

I enjoyed my time in Derek's class immensely. He was very accessible, and communicated with me about the path forward in psychology, should I choose to take it. He also offered to speak to me even once I was no longer in his class to offer information and support. I found his class to be both challenging and interesting.

He's an awesome teacher, very personable, funny, and down to earth. DO THE HOMEWORK! It doesn't matter how well you do on the test if you you don't do the homework. Plenty of extra credit opportunities and he wants to see you succeed. I missed class 4 time and was grade penalized but missed really important information. Don't miss a paper!

I took him for both developmental psych and general psych. He gives you all the material you need, but for tests it situational questions. Just understand the concepts and you'll be able to apply them to the tests. I got an A in both, he's a great professor! By far one of my favorites.

Derek is great! He cares a lot and knows his stuff. He offers extra credit and is always available to help. He is very invested in your success and very open to helping. Very available to students but tests are HARD. You definitely have to read and study for this class, but Derek makes sure you know what will be on the test and answer questions.

Awesome prof! Caring and communicative with students. Lots of HW reading the chapters, but it's useful. Two big papers, gives you a chance to turn-in early for feedback. USE IT! Truly wants to see you succeed and appreciate his field. The course itself is very useful for application in real world. Could be too work intensive for some, worth it!

I took the hybrid class, so the tests were all online and pretty easy if you did the homework, which is easy because the program lets you read the section the question is about. Prof was really cool, made the class fun, solid teacher, 3 essays, not too bad if you paid attention, I'm going to take Dev Psych with him next semester, 10/10 recommend

I've taken both his general and developmental classes and I would take it again if I can. His class was always the highlight of my day. A lot of complaints on here are mostly towards his papers but he gives you more than enough time to write it and asks every class period if you have any questions or need help revising. Best prof at East campus.

Loved this class! Prof. Schorsch is one of the best professors Ive had. Gives excellent feedback, provides plenty of time for writing the 2 papers he assigns. Easy A as long as you keep up and do the work. He is also very knowledgeable and will answer any questions you have about pretty much anything. Definitely recommended!!!

Derek is one of the best teachers I have ever had. He's hilarious, loves teaching, and really makes the subject interesting even if have no interest in it. I took him for Intro to Pysch and Developmental Psych and both classes I received an A! Take his class, you won't regret it!

I wrote both papers for Professor Schorsch a couple days before they were due Did both in one sitting at 8 hours a piece. Yes he is a tough grader. I wrote an absolute gem and got an A- for very unclear reasons after dropping 1 pages of neatly organized information. if youre a good writer like me youll do fine. test avg 98 9.5 out of 10

Derek is so nice and funny. His lectures are always very interesting and you will learn so much listening to him. I got a B on the first paper and an A on the second one. He is very clear about what he expects and lays it all out on the table when it comes to his point system . Be sure to show him rough drafts so he can help you perfect it.

I enjoyed this class, Professor Schorsch made the class interesting with the stories he told that related to the material. Many would say that the tests were hard, which I agree with, but I mainly used his printed notes to study and passed every test with good scores; however, some should use the textbook if they're unsure. Papers are not bad too.

Professor Schorsch may be my favorite professor at Valencia, yet. His curriculum is organized, exhaustive, and pleasantly educational. As a teacher, he excels at being communicative, accessible, and kind. His methods make the content approachable and easily comprehensible. The book is great, but, he creates a lot of his own (amazing) content, too.7

I took the 6-week General Psychology class with Prof. Schorsch. He makes the class very easy if you do the work on time, and actually read the information provided in the textbook. I also learned a lot in this class, much more than I originally anticipated. I looked forward to the readings and discussions. Recommend 10/10.

I took his hybrid class so everything was done at home but he was very kind and funny. His lectures are always so intriguing and light. He gives good feedback and i definitely recommend!

best professor ever! what he teaches in class is exactly what the tests are about. He gives extra credit to whoever assist to his events (almost every week) and write a short paragraph about it. We had to do four easy papers that if you showed to him before the due date he will correct every mistake and you'll get an easy A. Study from his notes!

Love loved him! He went beyond everything to make sure his students had a clear understanding and simply made everything fun! He would use real life examples about every topic to help grasp a better understanding. I would 100% take him again if given the chance. Easy easy tests if you pay attention and do the work. Presentations given but easy! :-)

We learned so much and had very cool conversations in class! I could tell that not being able to cover as much material as he wanted to during class kind of annoyed him since we only had about an 1 hour and 15. There were 2 essays, and then every week: an online quiz, learn smart modules, and a discussion board. Do your work and you will pass!

This professor is among the very best there is at Valencia. He really knows what hes doing and does a great job at teaching his students. He uses modern techniques and analogies that really explain the content. Theres ALOT of extra credit and he is not a harsh grader. He really cares about his students. Hes a cool guy! Definitely recommend :)

This class was taken online, but the presentations he included were very well done. He's got a great sense of humor, and seems like a really cool dude. He's very passionate about psychology, and is always very involved in our class discussions. If you read his slides, read the book, and then complete the hw, the exams are super easy.

I took Professor Schorsch's Psychology class online during the short, "Summer A" term. Even though the class was fast-paced, Professor Schorsch kept the workload & tests manageable. I enjoyed this class a lot, and I also liked the fact that Professor Schorsch encourages peer interaction. Don't even hesitate to take Professor Schorsch!!

Prof. Schorsch was awesome! His class was really organized and I felt like he engaged just enough to to be involved but didnt hit being annoying. We usually did 2 homework lessons a week, took a test every 4 or 5 chapters and wrote 2 papers. Just do the work and youll get an A, maybe a B. Highly recommend!

Where do I begin? Professor Derek Schorsch is one of the best professors I have ever had. Just read the book, do the discussion, and complete the labs. I got a B+ for his class because I didn't really follow the instructions for the papers (only 3 papers for the whole semester), I wish I could go back in time to get that A+

I really enjoyed this class, the only weekly assignments are to complete the smartbook, and then there are discussion posts before the exams. He has 2 papers that he does grade tough on but he gives more than enough time to do them. He sends a lot of emails but if you read them there might be extra credit options hidden in them.

Professor Derek has many perks. He offers many extra credit opportunities, the work is lightweight, the papers are quite simple and short, and his personality is the cherry on top. He checked in on us regularly and made the goofiest jokes. Overall, he's probably the best professor I have ever had! 10/10 recommend his class!

Professor Schorsch is very VERY knowledgable in Psychology and explains terms easy enough for a beginner to understand and thoroughly comprehend. His emails to students are always super long, and I think that goes to show how much he cares. He also gives feedback at like 2:30AM and is always working, so he is responsive. Taking PSY 2012 online was made easy by having a professor that was very well involved the entire course. He provided reading material, made live videos of content and explained things in ways that made it understandable. Extra credit was offered several times. Zoom opportunities were offered which involved other student participation.

If you want to learn and understand psych from a professor who is extremely knowledgable, accessible, understanding, relatable, humorous and attentive then look no further. Requires reading & writing that is interesting & simple if you read the material. Extra credit. HW, reflect post & test after every section. 3 Papers. 100% recommend taking him!

Stop looking for other professors and just take him. There are 2 papers that you have to actually put effort into but he will give you feedback before the due date if you ask for it. Discussions every 3 or 4 chapters, very doable.

BEST PROFESSOR! Take him! He is so helpful and understanding and honestly cares about his students. The course is not difficult, about 1 or 2 assignments a week, and just do all of the assignments and reflections to pass. Hes funny and makes the class enjoyable even through online courses. Prof Schorsch is everything youd want in a teacher. Took his flex class this summer; only three assignments due every week (discussion post, chapter assignment, chapter test). + Two papers with lots of time to complete. You do all assignments with purchased class code. Hes funny, grades quickly, and goes the extra mile everytime. Take this class!

This was a fun and great course! Loved it, I would recommend to anyone to take this Professor he is great! Make sure to follow the syllabus and due dates for your assignments. Extra credit opportunities are given as well too. There are 2 papers that are both given well in advance for you to work on. Professor is always available to help.

One of my favorite teachers so far!! His class is fairly easy if you stay on top of your work and pay attention to the concept of each chapter. You can tell he is very knowledgeable and enjoys teaching his class. Would definitely take his class again.

Professor Schorsch is a gem. He truly cares about his students and their sucess. There were no tests this semester (something new he is trying out) so the bulk of your grade is from 2 papers, 5 concept presentations (only a few minutes long) and a Sims-like game you will have to play. Mentally stimulating lectures as well. Great class. Take him!

I took him for both developmental psych and general. There was only two papers during the semester and he decided to not give any tests which was amazing. There are two papers and a couple of small creative writing assignments. His lectures are interactive. He's caring and down to earth. Take him!

I normally don't leave reviews but professor Schorsch is hands down the best psy teacher at Valencia. Very caring and understanding when it came to grading. I took this class in person where we had mini presentations rather than test and don't worry he creates a welcoming environment. This class is a class where you will grow. Don't think twice :)

Professor Derek was amazing. I took his Online course. Textbooks are required, and the Exams were moderated but did not require Webcams. Every week you had 2 assignments, a Discussion post, and an Exam. Have to pay for the Website to access the Textbook and Assignments. Overall, he's fantastic and has a great personality, interacts with students.

Absolute gem! Do yourself a favor and take a class with him. He is passionate about teaching and wants you to learn the concepts. He is also extremely funny in the classroom and makes time go by super fast. Would take him again for sure!

professor schorsch was amazing. he really made lectures and assignments interesting. he knows how to connect with younger generations and overall was one of my favorite professors at valencia. i probably would've gotten a higher grade in his class but I was honestly just lazy and never came to class or submitted assignments.

Majority of his assignments are graded on completion, tests requires locked browser but are timed, essays are easy A's if you follow ALL his instructions, use the rubric and pay attention during his lectures, which isn't hard because they're always interesting. He's also fine with students using different resources on test.

I took this class online, and he was great. He always sent out messages with reminders on the next assignments so it was really easy to stay on track. You have to pay for the textbook/assignments, and it does take a while to complete. But this still is a great class to take, whether you like psychology or not.

AMAZING! he teaches the class with passion and is so funny. now he might say some things that not everyone is comfy with (language, jokes etc.) but I haven't met anyone who doesn't enjoy this class with him. the class in general is easy if you read the text book. when talking about triggering topics (abuse, mental illness) he always ask if we're ok

Professor Schorsch is a brilliant teacher, I really enjoyed being challenged and learning with him, I struggle to have motivation in class but he kept class interesting and only 2 assignments a week? not bad at all, I had him for mixed mode and plan on having him for my future psychology classes.

Professor Schorsch was a very funny and entertaining professor. He made class fun and entertaining. There is a lot of reading and answering questions. He does grade his papers harshly but other than that hes a great professor and he takes time to make sure you understand. He emails the class almost every week to remind them of what is due.

Professor Schorsch was great - he made psychology interesting. Can't say it was my favorite subject to learn but he helped it to be more digestible. Class was accelerated - if you put any effort in at all, you should get an A.

Loved! He offers multiple extra credit opportunities(4pts each). Everything is due at 11:30 so don't procrastinate. Just buy the access code instead of the whole book. Be aware Smartbook assignments take over an hour to complete so give yourself time. Discussions are summaries so go to summary page for each ch. I took online so no camera for exams.

The best professor I've had! Genuinely hilarious and makes learning interesting. Overall nice guy to be around. The class itself was easy and he is extremely helpful. 3 presentations and 2 major papers. There are weekly quest assignments that are basically like playing the Sims. I recommend if you want a professor who creates a comfortable space.

Professor Derek cares about the learning process, and he understands a lot about psychology. He runs the psychology forum as well, where we always have something new to learn inside the area. If you want to learn about psychology, I recommend taking his class. Learning is freedom :)

So I took his course over the summer online. It was about three assignments due each week. Mainly quizzes with a VERY thought out discussion post from the weeks reading. I would definitely say take this class as you can use quizlet to Google the answers. However, the discussion post youhad to put thought into as he reads and comments on each one.

If you want a professor who is passionate about their career, take one of Professor Schorsch's classes. I took him for gen psych and developmental and he is by far my favorite professor. There is a perfect amount of work and his lectures are very interactive and interesting. Any test you will take in this class is CAKE if you study.

Great professor! He takes attendance very seriously so if u miss a couple of classes do not expect an A. Overall the class is easy, you will have to do 2 big major papers in which he is very picky so expect to write 2 heavy papers that are high college-level expectations. EASY A! impossible to fail or a low B. no txtbooks needed. has hw games! not a lot of hw. maybe 2 per week. he can be boring though, very. tough grader but, every assignments r out of 1/1. 2 papers due and 2 portfolios. he really cares about you and can extend your assignments. no tests, maybe 1 quiz (beginning of semester), & discussion posts.

If you are a psych major TAKE HIM he is hilarious and cares about his students. He makes lectures fun by running little tests on what we're learning and gives chances for extra credit very often. total there are 12 HW assignments (completion grade), 2 very easy assignments, 3 papers 2 page min and 3 exams first two you can work with others. SO EASY

Professor Schorsch's class is lecture-heavy with a heavy workload, but you can succeed with engagement. The textbook and Unstuck study are super helpful for study prep.

I took his 8 week online class and had 2 essays. Some assignments are completion based and same are graded. Practice you knowledge for the tests with the assignments and read over the text book and you'll be good to go.

The work was mostly smartbooks and a couple papers. He was very understanding, nice and respected all students. He was also very funny and made it easy to have conversation in class about lecture. I would definitely recommend take him!!!!!!

Great professor, make sure you do your discussions after every chapter for easy points (trust me it's a game changer) 3 essays which were simple, his feedback were really helpful. I took this class during the 'ungraded' semester; nothing was graded, you had to present a portfolio at the end of the semester with your work. It made the passing part easy if you truly did your work and learned something. Only 2 main papers (mid-term & final). The professor was chill & his video lectures are beneficial for learning content.

Tough professor however he has amazing lectures And he is passionate when he teaches this class has mandatory attendance. If you don't go that will affect your grade. There are few assignments and a lot of smart books and is very heavy. If you don't pass the exam then you will most likely not pass the class.

Absoloutely amazing professor. He was kind and very open minded, you could tell he genuinely cares about his students. I really loved his lecture videos, very informative and interesting. Exams are 50 questions, timed 60 minutes. They are very lightly proctored (no copy and pasting or opening new tabs). Overall, awesome!

Honestly the best professor I could have asked for. Course is fully self paced and very easy to work through, no tests or finals just 2 papers that were about 3-10 pages. He's accessible and provides great feedback, super chill and funny. Coursework is light and easy to digest, usually only one or two assignments a week. Couldn't recommend him more

Hes super nice and gives amazing lectures and makes the class super interesting. all his work is completed graded and for your midterm and final he makes you propose your grade to him. do your work and youll get an A i promise!!

Really great professor overall. Not a lot of homework, 3 major papers do not use chatgpt. He is also kind of political so I would keep that in mind when registering him for this class
