Goes very quick but teaches very clearly. Doesnt go over stuff that wont be on the test. Used final exam grade as grade for the class if it was higher then the quizes averaged.

He writes all the notes on the board, gives a review with similar problems that will be on his exams. If you pay attention and take notes his exams are really easy. He doesn't give homework. He lets you out of class early. You don't have a midterm. He misses class a lot. I would recommend him.

The best for prep math. I'm over 40 attending college and I stop professor Ruffing out of his way to explain to me all those things that I've over 18 to 20 years and he did. I pass the class and not only that I understand math better and he make me like it that I plan on changing my major to math.

Fabulous Math teacher. His tests are very easy. There's only 20 problems on every test, and only 20 problems on the final exam. He's a nice and funny guy. His class is very laid-back. I strongly suggest taking him.

he is super Straightforward, he teaches about 2 sections a day and lets you leave early, its about a 30 minute class test are super easy and multiple choice. he makes the material super easy to understand.

Dr. Ruffin is a really good professor. This class is really easy, if you pay attention. All the homework and quizzes are online, and are all due at the end of the semester. His final is supper easy, about 25 questions, multiple choice. easy class great professor.

One of the best math teachers I've taken. He's very "By-the-book" so when you study you know where to refer to. All of our test were open book including our final. Gives you chances to make up the test if you missed it. If you need any extra help you must go to the lab. Final study guide is the Final exam. Attendance is not a requirement. Awesome!

Since the lab is such a tiny class attendance is mandatory. He'll put you in groups that you'll be in for the rest of the semester. When you come in , he'll give you a problem on the broad. One person from the group will solve the problem on the broad. To get credit you must go to the broad at least once. Not penalized for having the wrong answer.

Dr. Ruffin is one of the best at Palm Beach State. If you are afraid of math, take his class. It starts early in the morning but it is worth attending at that time. Dr. Ruffin lectures with certain technique that grasp your full attention where you are never bored. His classes tend to fill very quickly and remain full until the semester ends!!!

I took this class once and failed. Took his class the next time and passed with an A! He lets you take home every test except for the final. We barely did group work, and class never lasted more than 45 minutes. He teaches fast but its very easy to keep up. He is one of the best professors on campus. I am a returning college student after a 5 year hiatus and was so nervous about math. Dr. Ruffin honestly is the best teacher you could ask for when returning back to school. I struggle so much with math but he is very thorough and never makes anyone feel stupid. I am taking him again in fall. Lectures are 45 mins and he always does test reviews!

The homework is online and it isn't due till the end of the semester there are only 5 test and there no take home test but there super easy and he goes over the review and the review is the same has the test. I suggest you take it his class and the final exam will replace your bad test grade

Best college math professor I have ever had. I wish he also taught college algebra, statistics and more. For his tests he has a review session before hand with practice problems that are basically the same on the real exam except different numbers. As long as you pay attention, use the notes and practice you can get an easy A.

I am someone who hates math and always sucked at it but Ruffin made it easy to understand with just a couple of test, lectures, notes, and test reviews, I passed every single test with an B, I just wish he taught college algebra. I was lucky enough to have Dr. Ruffin as my MAT0022 & MAT1033C. The ONLY thing that upsets me is he doesn't teach anything beyond that:( HW isn't mandatory but GREAT for practice. Dr. Derrick Ruffin was an amazing professor! As long as you attended class which he made it very clear on day 1 you could miss up to six classes. Professor Derrick made it really accessible to succeed in his class. I took him on live online sessions, and he always walked us through the lectures while being available to answer any questions. TAKE HIM! Never assigns homework, only monthly exams that are 20 questions. NO CAMERA REQUIRED FOR THE EXAM!! Which is so hard to find now for remote math professors. Lectures are nice, he does minimal talking, but he makes things easy to understand. Honestly, just take him because cameras are not required during exams.

I took his summer course. He doesn't use a lockdown browser, assigns no homework, and gives no pop quizzes. He's straightforward and clear. You get two days to complete each assignment, but if you miss one, he won't offer any make-up opportunities, so stay on top of your work.

This class is easy and very straightforward. It is basic algebra. Dr. Ruffin is rlly funny and gives extra credit in almost every exam. There are four tests. For the final, if you have a 90+ in the class, you are exempted, and if not, if you get a higher grade on it than another test, the grade gets replaced. Make sure to use math lab to study.
