He's a very nice & funny teacher. He really wants his students to know the material & didn't care for the stuff we already knew to get there. He wanted you to understand the basics, and never tried to make it more difficult than they really are. He might seem "closed" at first, but he's very nice!

This teacher is determined to go through the material even if it is not fully understood by the students. Does not collect homework and grading is based solely on exams. Tests follow HW problems, so don't forget the processes involved in the problems. Too much emphasis on solving HW problems and not enough on understanding of concepts.

Wonderful professor! He was fun, energetic and covered in chalk! Has a different style than I am accustomed to, starting with examples and then getting to the rules and name of the concept. Mr. Smith was very upfront as to the high diffficulty level of the class due to us covering so much calculus in a summer course. That being said, he made the material accessible and actually interesting, and I believe most of the class wound up with some affection, or at least respect, for math. No "easy" As, but they were possible. No pity curve!

Among the most difficult math classes I've taken, but that's mostly due to the topic at hand (which is super cool). Smith tries to be intuitive, although I often walk out of class slightly (or very) dumbfounded! Do the HW and practice exams. First and third exams are easy, the second exam is difficult.
