Lots of the assignments are based on films so that cuts down on reading. You can tell he cares about his students. Has been flexible with deadlines which is nice.

Des was one of the best English professors that I've ever had. You can tell that he really puts a lot of effort into his student's success as well as the lectures. The course consisted of 3 papers including the final and online HW & reading every week. He wasn't the toughest grader but he gives a lot of great feedback on your papers.

Des is by far my favorite prof i've had at SDSU. I've taken his AMIND120 and AMIND225 classes and got an A in both. He's super easy to talk to, gives great feedback, and is an easy grader. As long as you show up and participate you'll do fine

He is amazing and very understanding. His modules are very systematic and a class that provides you with a lot of amazing info.

Professor Hassing is by far the best professor I've had at SDSU. He is so caring and genuine to his students. I took both is AMIN 120 and 225 and got an A+ in both of them. The best thing to do is to meet with him and GO TO OFFICE HOURS and he will work with you. Take his class, it can be a little textbook heavy, but it is pretty interesting.

Great professor! I took this class to clear a GE requirement and ended up really enjoying the content. Very interesting, but be prepared to read a lot as many of the assignments and quizzes are based on such. Also offers a few extra credit opportunities!

One of the easiest classes I have ever taken. Taken online during covid. Lectures interesting and short. Not a lot of work at all. Very very easy A. Good amount of extra credit given. over 100% final grade.

Des is one of the best professors I've had at SDSU. I honestly took this class on a fluke and ended up loving it and took both AMIND 120 and 140. You will have to read and participate, but his lectures were pretty interesting. I recommend that you go to his office hours since he does take random points off so it' super helpful and hes a cool guy.

I took his AMIND141 class online and it's a normal amount of work for an online class. He gives interesting lectures and is a very understanding and supportive professor.

Solid professor and option for AMIND141. The modules are clearly outlined so you know exactly what to expect every week; 2-3 video lectures (20 mins each) 2/ questions, & either a quiz or discussion board. Only two tests (midterm and final) throughout the class so thats a bonus.

This professor is the best choice for AMIND141. Every week there is hw due on Sundays but they are not hard at all. Quiz videos aren't long and it took me about 30-40 min to do all the assignments each week in one sitting. Not bad at all. Highly recommend this professor- he really cares about what he is teaching and makes it easy to understand.

Professor Hassing was SO caring and kind this whole semester. Took his class fully online and each week he had something kind and understanding to say about the whole COVID situation we're all dealing with. Super understanding with assignments. Easy lecture videos and discussion posts. Class was easy but I learned a lot through it.

The class itself isn't particularly interesting, but it also isn't hard. Hassing makes it easy and isn't a difficult grader. He wants the students to get good grades and encourages them to be excited about the material. There isn't a lot of work and definitely no busy work. Hassing is super understanding, and works with you no matter what.

Professor Hassing was great! His lectures were organized and super interesting. The discussion board posts lined up perfectly to what we were reading/talking about, making it easier to grasp and understand the content.

This class has a very set schedule. All assignments are due on Sunday nights, watch lectures during the week with a quiz at the end but can retake the quiz multiple times until you get 100%. every week you either have a quiz or discussion post which wasnt too hard but the discussion posts can be time consuming so start early on them

I completely missed my midterm this semester and Professor Hassing helped me out a lot and provided some extra credit assignments so I was still able to pass with a good grade. You can tell he really cares about his students and will help in any way he can. Easy class and I really recommend taking him if you can!

Professor Hassing was a really great professor. He started every lecture with "Halito" or hello in Choctaw, it made me love starting the lectures lol. This was one of the most enriching courses I have taken and highly recommend it to everyone. There is usually 1 discussion post a week, the workload is super manageable.

Do yourself a favor and believe all the GOOD things about this professor (and ignore the rest). His class was very engaging, and the set up for it gave many peace of mind. He is also a very kind person, so if you have any problems, he is very respondent and available. 100% recommend.

I would 100% take this class again. Proffesor Hassing is a very caring person and even though I took the class fully online it felt like there was a connection. This course is a guaranteed A if you participate and do the readings. This is a very easy course that tackles important ideas and I enjoyed it a lot.

Quiz/test questions are directly from the recorded lectures or the textbook. The recorded lectures have questions embedded in them but they're super short/straightforward. There are usually like three of them per week and on top of that, either a quiz OR a discussion board. Hassing really cares about his students and this super interesting subject.

asynchronous format so attendance isnt needed, provides extra credit, only two exams a semester, free textbook pdf, and this class fulfills like 3 GE requirements. i put minimal effort into this class and still aced it no problem so i definitely recommend if ur looking for something low maintenence. prof is super nice too!!

The best teacher! Take this class!! The material is easy to understand and it is actually enjoyable. Took 18 units and these 3 were my lightest workload. Fills like 3 requirements too. Freshmans TAKE THIS CLASS you will not regret it

Kinda interesting so its not the worst but the quizzes can be a bit hard when they use the book if you didn't read it. Midterm and final are easy with common sense and crtl + f to look things up in the book

I took the online course for Hassing and it was fairly easy. You do need to spend some time watching and taking notes on the lectures. He offers some extra credit that supports your grade. Every other week it would be a lecture quiz or a discussion board.

This class is very easy. Asynchronous lectures every week, no more than 30min- 1 hour. Quizzes every other week and discussion posts for the weeks you don't have quizzes. Barely had to read the book. The professor is amazing! Even though it was an online class, he would make sure that his students are doing good, very caring. Highly recommend.

This professor is very passionate. Lecture videos and ted talks have 3-5 mini questions you can answer in-between the videos. His discussions are pretty heavy and are always about the week topic. Assignments all due at the end of the week. Overall he is easy you just need to do those discussions and I personally hate them.

Loved this class, and Professor Hassing. Take this class for a relatively easy A that is completely online. This course is lecture heavy, and has many discussion boards. The discussion boards are pretty lengthy but easy to understand. Quizzes were the hardest part of the class! Tip: study the lecture questions in order to do well on the quizzes!

Professor Hassing was very caring and understanding. Before exams he made it clear that he would be looking at his emails in case we had any trouble, since they were online. His classwork was very manageable and he offered extra credit.

The coursework for this class was very manageable, with lectures covering the majority of the content in a very thorough manner. There are several quizzes and discussion boards that can be time-consuming and require effort, but definitely manageable.

I took this class as fully online, so there were recorded lectures with embeded questions that you watched between monday morning and sunday night when they were due. Prof Hassing is a great teacher! U can tell he cares abt his students and sometimes gives pep talks in the lectures. I took it asynchronous and it was chill. Discussion boards are short and only one response. Quizzes are open note and usually the same questions he asks in lecture. As long as u space out the work and get it done this class is easy.

I overall really enjoyed his course. At the beginning of the semester his lecture provides his students with a road map of how to be successful in his class which I appreciated. He is very passionate and has a very interesting perspective.

The class was online so it was pretty easy. I did all my homework on Monday so that I didn't have to worry about his class throughout the week. What's great is that he gives you the lecture notes, so you can command f the answers. His quizzes at times are a bit hard if you don't read the text but overall, a pretty easy class.

The class is very well organized and the professor is very approachable and understanding. The class varies from discussion posts and quizzes, there are also 2 exams so make sure to look over the lecture notes and textbook to get the best grade possible. Overall the class isn't difficult just make sure to do things on time and pay attention.

Really learned a lot in this class even though it was online. You can tell he cares a lot about our success and well-being and is very passionate about what he teaches. Professor Hassing is great at explaining the material in his weekly video recordings. He has extra credit assignments throughout the course that give a good buffer if you don't do so well on a quiz. Very helpful and responsive outside of class. He definitely cares for his students.

His class was great. Hes very passionate about what he's teaching. The homework was never crazy and the instructions for them were all very clear. He has a grading scale for everything and its added to every written assignment. There are discussion boards almost every week but there very easy and manageable. All around a great teacher.

It is all pretty easy but the discussion boards are graded kind of harshly, no flying by without looking at the textbook. You will be just fine if you put in a little effort.

Take this professor for AMIND 140 and 141 to fulfill GE requirements. Lecture, short video, and discussion board or quiz every week. Assignments can be done in an hour. Quizzes and tests are open book & note research tests so you have all resources available to you. Available hours to meet as well. Least mentally draining course for your time.

This class was pretty interesting. There's videos and TED talks assigned weekly, but it wasn't awful. Prof Hassing also sends lots of announcements so I never felt out of the loop with anything. Good class and great prof!!!

Hassing is super understanding and caring! The TA's and him give great feedback/grading criteria to be able to achieve full points on assignments. Tests, quizzes, and discussion boards are not too bad since you have lots of resources. He gives tons of reminders about due dates and replies to emails quickly. Overall great class to fulfill GE.

Took AMIND 141 online. Lectures were engaging and brief. Most of the grade comes from lecture quizzes, discussion boards, and a few exams. He gives very thorough feedback on discussion boards. Also provides some extra credit opportunities. Overall would recommend.

He was the best!! Each week consisted of a few video lectures and a quiz or discussion board. The discussion boards were graded harder, but they were easy once you got the hang of them. Each exam was easy, and each extra credit took only about 30 minutes!! I highly recommend taking him.

had him over summer, super easy for a GE. you could technically do the entire class in one sitting if you wanted to, for a summer class the work was totally manageable. there were few lectures and assignments every week and i think the textbook was used like once. he also provided a few extra credit assignments. take for an easy A!

He assigns videos to watch which either is him talking (he speaks very upbeat to keep you listening) or he assigns interesting videos that are animated or easy to understand. His assignments are mostly writing assignments, and his test are open book. The textbook has a word search feature which makes it easy to find answers and get good grades.

Class structure is basically 2-3 videos a week with embedded questions, with either a quiz or discussion post. Super easy GE, like REALLY EASY, Hassing is great and understands that most people take the class just for the GE so he grades really leniently and offers extra credit. The video questions and tests are really easy. Take him if you can.

Not only was his online class easy, it was also interesting and informative. He doesn't tell you how to think on native American history, he encourages you to interpret it in your own way. His essays are 300 words min, with a clear, no BS grading criteria. I highly recommend him.
