One of the best professor out there. Clear and very informative in his lectures. A must to take if you want to learn. Never boring. Cool guy.

easy class, professor is not clear on task given and pop up with extra work that he expects you to know how to do, but he never explains or go over the work in the first place. professor is sometimes boring and confusing, but he knows the CEQA process very well.

Dev is by far the greatest professor I have had in my college career. He is passionate about the subject matter, which in turn makes you excited to learn the material. He is well organized and extremely understanding. He provides not only education direction but often offers advice on career searching. He is encouraging and fair. Love him!

Great class to learn CEQA. Not exactly the most interesting class, even for environmentalists, but you learn the process. Dev can be easy to work with and he helps you out as long as you act like an adult and do whats assigned. Overall, easy class... Final was a pain tho, worst part of the class, even though it was a take home final.

This class is extremely easy and Hilarious. You're guaranteed a laugh every lesson and he keeps it real. An excellent class to get an upper GE requirement out the way. Also makes you appreciate the environment more.

Okay... Here is the low down. He is a cool guy and he knows a lot about his subjects. He may be unorganized at times (pushing due dates back, grading tests/assignments on time and scheduling tests) but it really isn't THAT bad. He makes it enjoyable, and he comes from the "real world" not from academia. So he is super down to earth. I recommend!

Easy class. Learned absolutely nothing. Boring at times, funny at times. 1 individual project, 1 group project, 1 midterm, and 1 final. Has a sign in sheet before class everyday.

Professor is blunt. Not much work on this class, but must do well on midterm. 1 Midterm, 1 Journal (random check in class), 1 individual presentation, and 1 oral group presentation. I honestly, did not learn much in this class. It is more of a class discussion throughout the lecture. Attendance is mandatory.

Professor Dev Vrat one of the best professors I have ever met! He is really helpful and care about his students. Read the book, and he will give you a quiz every week, The reading is easy, also the lectures are amazing. You will learn a lot about the cities. Very Recommended.

I got an A easily, the class is weird and fun, it's 50% quizzes 15% research paper 10% participation and 15% attendance and he gives so much extra credit, I really love this professor.

Very easy class! Very funny and nice man! You will learn a lot from him enthusiastic teachings! Attendance is required and there is a open book quiz every week. He lets you retake the quizes at home if you do bad. He gives a lot of Extra Credit and his final was worth 5 points. Failed the final but got an A in the class. EASIEST A you'll ever get

Super chill guy, really relaxed, really funny. Quizzes are easy if you pay attention. Bad at pronouncing names but he makes fun of himself for it

He makes his class really interesting, He is really Clear, the class is never him just talking he involves students in his lectures. he grades on attendance. You are required to read because he gives quizzes almost every week on certain chapters, but all quizzes are open book. His class is really fun. Take him you wont regret it!

I really enjoyed this class. We covered sustainability and how our world is impacted by human choices. Urban planning is a huge factor in this and Professor Vrat did a great job of covering this important topic. He is very passionate which makes the class enjoyable. I enjoyed this class and would recommend it.

His plans for the semester were all off target in execution but for reasons beyond him, mostly issues between student and professor. Although assignments were pushed back a lot, he accepted questions and very willing to talk and resolve issues. He often kept repeating the same few topics but overall he cares about his students and their success

He is very kind and respectful. He want his students to understand how the wold is divided and how could we work together to save the environment. Sustainability is the main subject in this class and how could we avoid using and manufacturing more than we need. I learned how cities were created and built, samples of different places.

He's so helpful professor, attending is important and all his exam questions will be from the notes ,his quiezs and exams are online ,he gives extra credit that's really helps raising your grade on the end of the class.

We learned about different cultures. Every student talked about their traditions and customs. He was helpful. when ever i tried to contact him, he answered right away. At the beginning of the class he seemed so serious but then later in the class I realized he was very cool

Theres is a lot of reading. The material is dense. The professor tries to get everyone involved and makes the class very enjoyable. He gives extra credit. Professor Vrat is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to planning. He definitely cares about his students actually understanding real world processes when it comes to planning. His final was easy especially if you take notes in class. If something is unclear, he will always go over it again to ensure students are understanding the material.

This was such a fun class! Dev really cares about his students and does what he can to make it more enjoyable. He is always accessible and makes it really easy to communicate. HE WANTS YOU TO DO WELL AND ENJOY THE CLASS!! His tests are fair although they can be a bit tough but you have so many extra credit opportunities to raise your grade.

I've never had a professor that cared so much about his students! Every class session he would ask for our feedback about the course and would take suggestions for changes to be made. he would ask students who were from different countries to present on their experience there which was really awesome! Dev is definitely one of those professors that easily gets misunderstood for his tone of voice and opinions. I found the class to be very informative and useful for being aware with today's world problems. Lecture can be a unorganized but he's a very laid back guy. We were required to complete 20 volunteer hours but it is not hard to accomplish.

Two reports throughout the semester, one midterm, and one final. All of which are very easy, fun, and doable! Take his class you won't regret it!

Professor Vrats URBS 310 class was amazing. He really has a passion for the subject. He is funny and knows how to relate content to students. He can be a little disorganized but is always asking what he can help us with. Straight forward with grading. Attendance is important for information and points! I would take him again if I could!

The best professor I have taken at CSUN. Theres a sign in sheet at the beginning of class so you should attend, its part of your grade. He takes time to help students receive a good grade. His lectures are based off on the chapters readings as well as the quizzes. He also informs you on current news. Easy A if you do all the work

One of the best professors in CSUN. You will learn a lot from his lecture. He really cares that the students learn something. Very easy grader and his tests are fairly easy, not to mention so many extra credit opportunities! If you want easy A go to class, take notes, do your homework and you will get it as easy as that!

He has a simple grading criteria and often times would push the deadlines for assignments back. Professor Vrat always listens to students' concerns and makes the class interesting by showing films. I definitely recommend taking his class as you will learn, it is an easy class, and if you put effort in you should be able to get a high grade.

Professor Vrat is amazing. I took him for URBS 310, URBS, 350, SUS 310. Yes, there is a lot of busy work he makes you do but its super easy. It's really hard to fail this course (show up to class ATTENDANCE IS MANDATORY, turn in assignments on time, Quizzes/Test are all on canvas). I recommend him to all my friends. Awesome teacher!

Professor Vrat is a great professor. However, he can be a little intense at times. His intensity comes out in his voice and his discussions with students, which can make him a little intimidating to talk to for some. Don't get me wrong, he's a really nice guy once you get past that. It just might take a little time to warm up.

This is a very easy course... He tries his best to NOT make it hard on his students and is very understandable if we would like to switch around due dates. Midterm and final were easy - most answers can be googled but I recommend doing the study guide before exam just so you can finish up in time. No work from textbook, papers, just presentations.

Whats up with all the negative reviews below. Yeah hes a chill guy and cares about passing everyone but most people were just taking this class to get extra units. He truly cares about his students and wants you to be successful in his class. In order to get an A all you have to do is show up to his class and do well on the quizzes, assignments and exams. Took his class last semester, he is such a kind professor. Loves what he teaches and tries his best to share that with the class. I loved his class and he was very understandable with assignment grading and pushing back due dates if there is an issue or event you have. Currently enrolled in another of his classes for next semester.

Prof Vrat was a great teacher. He really cares about the world/environment and he makes you see it too. There's no homework just projects which is a power point and he helps you with it throughout the semester. Your homework is basically to be working on it. Tests are online and he helps with studying. This class was a joke. I only took it cause I needed extra units my senior year. Really laid back class to take if you need extra units. All assignments are due online and can be done within an hour. As for prof Vrat hes kinda unorganized but really chill when it comes to due dates. You can literally turn in assignments whenever you want. Lol

He is so amazing! He isn't a strict person at all and he provide of homework for looking find the one link youtube and reading after summary about reading that's all. All are easy and HIGH RECOMMENED take him in class 100% if u getting stress then he will provide take your times in the post in the homework.

He is kind and considers students' feedback every week. I'm interested creativity assignment such as drawing campus map, taking picture with others, and visiting asian resturant for extra credit. If you participate class and summarize textbook, you can get A+.
