Professor Cooley is an excellent teacher. I learned so much about interpersonal relationships from her and appreciate all of her knowledge and assistance with the course work.

I have never been crazy about speaking in front of anyone, but the entire class was wonderful, not just the teacher. This was my favorite class I enjoyed researching for my presentations every time. She offers extra credit and enjoys intersting speeches.

I have to say this is the class I looked forward to after my other classes. She tries to make jokes to calm everyone down before a speech presentation, gives extra credit, nice. The only thing I didn't like was how strict her syllabus was. She dosen't take anything late, a bit picky but she's alright.

Ms. Cooley is a great person and teacher! No homework, but do read your chapters and and go over her lectures. Be prepared to write research papers 4+ pages and presentations for each. Overall there isn't a lot she asks from you but just makes the class interesting. Very helpful if you approach her! I have an A in her class!

DR. Cooley was the coolest! You might have to work for your grade but other than that, your should do well. To my classes surprise, we didnt have to take the final she liked us so much. Treat her well and she will return the favor! Loved her and will alwyas rememder her.

Mrs. Cooley is really fun. She used to be an interior decorator, so she is very stylish. Don't take her class during a mini mester because there are 3-4 research papers/essays you must write and having to cram all the research into those short times was hectic. She makes speaking alot of fun. She does not tolerate being late.

She has rules such as, "no late work, if you miss something too bad, dress code", etc... She has a lot of work and is not for a very laid back person.

Interesting woman that has experience in her field. Very demanding and goes by her syllabus. Must complete work and late work is not tolerated. She may look mean but she is a nice lady. Overall, if you are a slacker do not take her, but if you really want to practice your speaking skills in front of an audience then go ahead knock yourself out!

She is very very hard. If an assignment is due and you are 1-2 minutes late...You cant turn it in. DONT BE LATE TO HER CLASS....she wont take any excuses. She is mean and very hard to work with. Dr. Cooley is a good teacher if you just want to sit there and listen to others talk. All the work is outside of class. She can get a negative attitude if people are slacking which usually affects the class as a whole. But the class is easy if you are willing to really work.

I didn't turn in one assignment. Not only did she not accept the work, she didn't allow me to present. The disappointing thing is that she allowed the class to have input. Some input was positive and some negative. Either way, a student shouldn't have any input on another student's grade. If you are going to be difficult don't ask for input.

She is a stickler for absences and for tardies so be sure to be there and be ready. She is a really great teacher tho and demands to be respected for what she loves which is to teach others. I feel I learned alot about how to communicate with others better. Worth my money.

Dr. Cooley's class was amazing! Admittedly, I was very terrified on the first day and when I saw her I was immediately intimidated. However, whenever she started talking, all of the nervousness left me! She wants you to be prepared before you do your speech, but the work was not over abundant.

This class is not an easy A. She trys to make you seem so low compared to her because of her degree. Do the work ON TIME and HER WAY and you will pass. She will put you down in front of the class if you miss an assignment or do it wrong. I received an A, BARELY and with A LOT of studying and writing. READ the textbook, it's very important. Goodluck

Good professor. She has a unique style and interesting personality. Class is easy, except for one research paper. She teaches with powerpoints and daily activities based on each chapter. There are only a few speeches and group assignments. The movies are nice too. She doesn't like people who are late to class. You can pass if you do your work.

I took her during Summer and she was great there were notes to every chapter of the book and many group activities.

Attendance is mandatory because of class activities, along with a total of: 4 tests online, 3 in class pop quizzes, 1 culture analysis paper on music songs, 1 research paper on a communication theory, 1 reflective essay paper and 2 movie analysis. First hybrid class ever and I loved the way the class times was arranged. I took Ms. Cooley Fall 2015. Class was 3 hrs. every Saturday but we only met 4 times the whole semester. The work is done just as syllabus shows. mos t of the work even the test is done online. A power point presentation must be done with every speech it is a major grade.

No guessing games Dr Cooley tells you on the first day what she expects from you. Do not be late to her class it seems to really irritate her. She gives you ample time to turn in work. Pop quizzes are a bit challenging

My class was a hybrid class meeting once a month. On the first day there were 30 students and we were cramped but after Dr. Cooley gave her rules and regulations the next class had 15 students and by the end of the semester we were at 10. We were proud of ourselves for finishing and Dr. Cooley opened our eyes to many different subjects. Great Job

I'm an early college student so I had some complications with attending class for the big assignments. If you miss class, you won't get the credit. Gives great lectures. Her class was very fun and interesting to be in. You do need the book(no code required) pay attention to lectures her test are based on them. You have to participate! One paper and 1 presentation by yourself the others are in groups. Take her!!

Dont be late to her class, please, because punctuality is key in her class. Write notes during lectures because there is are some questions on the test that are not on the textbook. Cool prof tho.

I would recommend this class to everyone because the instructor is great.. What I likeed about this class was the organization of her syllabus and dates that way we knew what the day would be like the minute we walked in the door. Its not all lecture, we had group activities, movies, small presentations overall a good class.

Dont expect to just stand up and talk in this class you gotta prepare for several presentations. She gives you a lot of time to complete the work you have a week to do everything so she doesnt take late work. Do the work read the news and talk and you shouldnt have any problem. This class was simple Professor Cooley gives you all the information you need for the class with handouts. there are 3 exams, 3 presentations, some inclass group work and activities.

Professor Cooley is a good professor however shes also driven by her emotions often. She has a tendency for side comments and or slightly rude remarks. She teaches a great class however her attitude sometimes overshadows other things and can come off slightly disrespectful. Work was not hard however it has to be one specific way or nothing.

This is my first hybrid class Prof Cooley gives you so many examples for all the assignments its really easy. She gives good feedback and you dont have to wait weeks for your grade. I would take her again

She is by far the best professor I have ever had. She is very blunt, and upfront, but everything she says and does is to make you better. I took her public speaking class, and I thought it was going to be the worst, but it was the exact opposite. BEST PROFESSOR EVER!!!!!

This class was the best class I've taken at lonestar, Professor Cooley makes this class so interesting she made the transition from in class to online easy and was always there to answer questions.

I wish this class could have been face to face but Professor Coooley made it interesting and she gave good feedback with all of the recorded speeches. You dont have to wait for feedback cause she grades really quick. She is very detailed but I guess that is good so you dont sound stupid when you get up to speak.

I enjoyed taking Professor Cooley's speech class this fall. She gives great feedback and helped me out whenever I had a question. Her assignments are scheduled nicely and she knows what she's doing. Overall, her assignments were easy to do as well as the exams which were exactly like in the textbook.

Professor Cooley gave us very interesting assignments and opportunities for extra credit. I did have to read the textbook to understand the material for the exams, but it was not too difficult to understand. The research essay was the assignment I was most worried about, but she gave plenty of time and resources to complete it.

Dropped this prof. Very disorganized. Not clear on what chapters to read for assignments. Assignments use different names for things than the textbook. Her syllabus was awful. I like to be very organized and the lack of information she was willing to provide was a no-go for me. Even after emailing with her it was clear this prof was not for me.

Professor Cooley lays everything out for you, she has examples for everything, she gives you 8 days to complete your work and if you have questions she gets back with you fast. 8-week class, it was not easy. Big essay assignment that takes all course. She is strict but gives good feedback. It's easy to fail but read the textbook and you won't. Only 2 Exams. She follows her Syllabus very well. There is a lot of worksheets but don't wait last minute, WORST MISTAKE! There is no extra credit. She is not easy but its possible.

The professor is a horrible grader. She stresses how much she does not want you to contact her through her email. Assignments are due at 10:00 pm instead of 11:59 pm. The assignments are overkill and take way too much time. She provides specific examples and if you do not do it exactly her way then you will fail.

I had a fantastic experience with my professor during the summer class. Attendance was mandatory to avoid losing points, but the lectures were engaging and interactive. The class involved a few writing assignments and four exams in total, and I highly recommend utilizing the textbook. Overall, I would definitely take this professor's class again.

I took this class in the spring. She has got interesting assignments gives plenty of time to complete the work, 4 exams, she will get back with you if you have questions she even called me back on a weekend to answer my questions. I going to take anther class with her this fall.

Professor Cooley runs a solid online SPCH1321 class. Assignments are straightforward with ample time to complete. Exams are simple if you keep up with the readings. Unstuck study was super helpful for exam prep. Overall, a manageable but worthwhile class.
