This was a class for non-chemistry majors. She taught the class as if we knew the basics of chemistry, which many of us did not. Basically, it was a fairly difficult class, but she grades incredibly easily. I spent hardly any time on homework, and still got a B+

For non-majors this is an excellent science course. Though there are required readings and tests, they are very easy and the workload is manageable. Excellent and helpful professor.

Chemistry in Everyday Life was an awesome class. Very nice and helpful professor, and the work is very easy. She's an easy grader too, but I still learned a lot in the class!

This class was sooo easy and boring. I thought it was pretty much a waste of time. Prof. is very nice and enthusiastic, but teaches the class as though we were in middle school. Take this class if you're looking for a filler class with no work.

Really nice professor, is truely interested in the class and tries to make sure that everyone understands. The lectures were boring, but it is chemistry, labs wernt bad. She is incredibly easy, I spent zero time studying, just did the homework and came to class for labs and tests and got a b+.

very easy class, esp. if you've had any chem before. 012 is basically for non majors, so its really easy. she's really helpful, makes sure all understand everything, easy quizzes, no final/midterm, a few very easy labs. overall an enjoyable class.

The class is very easy but kinda boring. It's great for your science req. You only have to do four labs all semester and theres no final or mid-term, just 5 easy quizes. Prof. Glick is a really nice lady and easy to approach. Do the work and you get an A.

Interesting lectures and tests were fair. Somewhat helpful during office hours, but you always have to wait to see her. Sometimes unclear about her grading policies. Final exam was extremely hard and way too long, with too much emphasis on new material she barely covered at the end. I got an A in the class, but watch out for her final exam!

Glick is really passionate about chemistry but doesn't expect you to be. Everything is very easy in this class except labs, which can suck but also only happen on alternate weeks. If you study for quizzes and show up to class and lab it's an easy A. No midterm, no final.

AMAZING woman. the end, ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. i hated chemistry until i took her class. an excellent replacement for warren. loves chemistry but realizes that its not everyone's favorite subject. tries to make it interesting for the pre-meds too. great woman, always available for help, email or in person. WONDERFUL TEACHER.

Glick is a very good teacher and a very nice lady. Her tests were fair. She is very clear and VERY enthusiastic about chemistry, which makes the material more lively. Plus she's kinda hot. Her final was challenging though, but not impossible. Make sure you know your stuff; I don't think you could get by if you don't. Definately recommend her.

Professor Glick is concerned about her students progress, but her lecturing style puts too little emphasis on mastery of key concepts. She can go on asides, and lose her students in the course of her lecture. But her tests are fair, neither easy nor impossible.

I love Prof Glick! I had her for Chem for Majors and I miss her. Funny, sometimes a little scatterbrained but very very smart. She's helpful, clear, and just nice. Her teaching is definitely more concept-based rather than plug-and-chug math problems, which is fine because chemistry is more than just equations. My piece of advice, attend class.

Prof. Glick is an amazing professor and a very nice person. She's one of the most helpful professors, and always makes time to go over concepts/questions in depth outside of class. Her problem sets are difficult but manageable. I found her tests to be extremely fair. Advice: For tests, study all problems. For the final, study the problem sets.

Professor Glick is so nice and helpful. The course material is pretty difficult, but she makes it very clear. Very willing to answer questions outside of class. Replaces your lowest test grade with your final exam grade if it is higher, which really helps a lot. Tests can be kind of difficult but are manageable if you study the homework sets a lot.

I took this chem class for NON-majors...the best decision ever! The first weeks she gave a lot of busy work but after that the class was GREAT! She's very engaging and ALWAYS goes over the quiz/test material RIGHT BEFORE the quiz! There are attendance quizzes, so just SHOW UP and LISTEN and you can't help but get an 'A'. Great for requirement!

i took chem in everyday life as a course just for fun and i could not be happier with my decision. professor glick is one of the best teachers i have ever had in my life. the class was easy, but I honestly felt like I learned a ton. she makes the most boring topics interesting. take this class, you wont regret it.

Glick is the only prof who can make the solid state interesting. She's excited about chemistry, so you will be too. Exams are definitely more challenging than Warren's, but she'll keep your interest so I guess that's a consolation. Lowest exam grade is dropped. Make sure she knows your name..it'll help you out if she knows you're doing your best

THIS IS FOR LAB! I saw her once in lab, that's about it. She doesn't really do much except write out a few lab procedures. Her presence doesn't really make a difference for this class. So, basically this rating doesn't really do anything.

She was great. Interesting and interested. Actually knew who we were, and that helped later. I hated chem before but really started to enjoy it in her class. I wish she would teach organic chem! Keep up with work and KNOW the quizzes. She goes really fast in the summer, so stay on top. She is fair to generous with her grading.

no flow to the class, just random but requires almost no work until the very end when you are stuck with a final project that doesnt make sense. labs are mandatory and actually a lot of work, lab technicians grade harder than she does. easy quizes, no midterm. def worth taking for gen ed requirement and can be fun if you want

Glick is somewhat interesting, and really excited about her subject, although the material is less than enthralling. But the tests aren't difficult at all, and she's always really friendly and extremely willing to help students.

SO helpful. I only had her as a lab instructor, so I didn't see so much of her per say, but I went to her for help before my chem final and she REALLY helped at clarifying any concepts I didn't understand etc. Very helpful and really nice- definitely go to her office hours if you have any chem questions!

Take her! Very, very clear lecturer, helpful answering questions after class. She will get you excited about the material, yes even Gen. Chem. She tells funny stories about her kids and family in class that are actually pretty entertaining. She makes it somewhat difficult but well worth it.

I really don't like chemistry, but Prof Glick made it very interesting. She makes an incredible effort to help each student one-on-one. Her exams (except the final) are not very difficult. Glick is a fantastic person. I would highly recommend her.

Very very good teacher. Not really necessary to go to lectures but I always go because she is great at explaining the material. She is a very friendly and nice person and if you need extra help it's great to go to her. I definitely recommend her as a teacher.

Glick was my favorite Prof frosh year-- going to class wasn't necessary but she gave a great lecture. And if you did your work in that class, studied a reasonable amount for each test, and went to her for extra help getting an A was really do-able :D

She is CRAZY!!! But shes a science teacher so thats normal... Lectures went into further detail than was necessary to ace the class. So if you ever need an extra hour of sleep dont feel bad skipping this class. Just look at slides on BB and youll be fine. Easy to find during office hours, and always willing to help with any problem.

Prof Glick is a really great teacher. I would definitely recommend her. But just be careful b/c for our class the first test was VERY easy so everyone kind of relaxed before the second test, which was much much harder (luckily she ended up curving it). She is very helpful when you go to her office hours. Very friendly and energetic in lecture.

Dynamic and lively. seriously never bored: she takes the mundane and adds so much to it. She tells a HF acid story to haunt your dreams, she lit up magnesium, and models as much molecular chem as she can with her body

A wonderful, supportive teacher. She's clearly passionate about chemistry, which makes it a lot easier to care about what you're learning. She's a generous grader and more than willing to spend time talking and helping. I loved her class even though I struggled.

Took chem in the summer and I would honestly not have made it through the 10 weeks if it weren't for Professor Glick. She somehow manages to make 3 hours of chem lecture interesting and is extremely helpful outside of class. She isn't an easy grader by any means, but if you work hard and seek out help you will do fine!

This class was challenging. I don't like science, so that was already a problem for me. It wasn't impossible though, and the grading is fairly reasonsable. Being a first semester freshmen I didn't know how to properly manage my time, and it reflected in my grade. She made herself available and is genuinely passionate about Chem and teaching.

I was lucky enough to have Glick for two semesters (gen chem I/II), and I can honestly say that she is one of the best science teachers I've ever had. Lectures aren't mandatory, but GO TO THEM! She's incredible at explaining tough concepts, and I found that I didn't have to read or even do practice problems to get an A if I went to lecture. TAKE!!

Professor Glick teaches Gen Chem like it should be taught. The class is full of pre-med students. It is a fairly easy class, and if you understand chemistry at all, her tests are very easy.

Glick is the BEST. She absolutely cares for her students and their success. She is also hilarious and is so engaging when teaching. I took her over the summer so I had her all day, every day. If there was a bad side to her to see, I would have seen it. Maybe sometimes she would go off on tangents or give curt answers but nothing that isn't normal.

LOVE LOVE LOVE Prof. Glick. Great teacher and all around amazing human being. She will help you, answer questions, and sit with you side-by-side if you need help. You have got to put the work in- everything from reading the text, to doing the book problems to recording the lecture and listening to it a few times. But it is worth it!

Professor Glick is highly approachable and very passionate about Chemistry. She takes the time to learn her students' names, which I appreciate. She's bad at passing back graded assignments. The class consists of several quizzes, lab reports and a final essay. Put effort into every assignment and you'll be fine!

I was told that Glick was really nice. Personally, that's true. However, her lectures cover verbatim the material from the textbook and when asked questions she tends to restate what she just said, sometimes condescending. Found lectures to be unhelpful--better off just reading the textbook on your own. Take Warren instead.

I had Professor Glick for Gen Chem for Chem Majors. She LOVES chemistry and is an adorable person. Class isn't always helpful. She went off on tangents a LOT. I recommend copying down the notes before class so that you stay organized when she gets unfocused. Do the book problems she assigns and you'll be fine :)

She is very nice, and very enthusiastic about teaching Gen Chem. Tests were pretty straightforward, very similar to the practice ones that she posts online. Do the sapling HW because it helps you for the tests sometimes. But you should also read the textbook so that when you go to lecture, everything makes sense.

Professor Glick's Gen Chem lecture is certainly a lively way to start your Monday at 9 am. She's very passionate about chemistry, though sometimes she gets too theoretical and can confuse, so read the textbook or ask your TA. She posts practice exams that are very similar to the real thing so take those if you do nothing else. Not hard to do well.

Professor Glick is a great professor knows her stuff, and genuinely cares about her students. I took her class with roughly 100 other students, and she still took the time to learn students' names. She holds office hours at least four days a week, and is willing to help you as long as you are giving an honest effort in and out of class.

I had Prof. Glick for General Chemistry I and II, and I would definitely recommend her over the other professor whether that's Knope or De Dios or whomever. Glick is more consistent and her tests are more predictable, so go with her. That said, she's not a good lecturer and not helpful outside of class at all, so learn on your own and you're fine.

Dr. Glick is one of those rare teachers that makes learning exciting, bringing a smile to each lecture. That being said, her lectures tend to be confusing, and she goes on tangents quite often. If you're like me, and need a clear lecturer, you need to take advantage of her office hours. She is the most accessible teacher I've ever had.

This class is completely taught by the TAs. 2 recitations & 1 lab per week. There is a lot of work and grades but TAs are very helpful. There are 3 question quizzes before every lab and one 15 minute quiz the week following the quiz. Report sheets are due every week and 2 formal lab reports with very clear criteria.

Prof. Glick is a very caring person, gives good lectures, but sometimes lectures seem a bit rushed, however that really has to do with the nature of the course. She puts in the effort to prepare you for the tests but be prepared to study.

This is a great, choice for non-majors. Professor Glick is extremely kind and patient with the class and makes explanations of chemistry much more accessible for people who don't have as much interest/knowledge on science topics. Really made me think more about how much history/sociology/politics interact with science

She makes chemistry fun! She is funny, kind, and always upbeat. While her lectures can be fast-paced, her exams reflect the lectures. Often times the textbook includes a lot of extraneous information, but can be good for clarification.

Prof. Glick can be very behind in her lectures, and when she notices she's running out of time she'll even push a whole chapter the day before an exam. Her class is based off 3 exams and a final so you better hope you're a good test taker. She can be very passive aggressive and tells her students to withdraw.

Prof. Glick is an extremely disorganized lecturer and often fails to make it through the slides due to her spending way too much time on irrelevant details. To make up for this, she often rushes through actual important aspects of the lecture such as sample problems.

She's a really energetic and funny lecturer who's v. passionate about chem. Does some in-class demos which were cool to see and illustrated a lot of key points. Frequently behind on lecture, so you need to read and learn on your own, but lecture is v. good for clearing up stuff and building understanding. Textbook problems appear exactly on exams.

Prof Glick is such an amazing person, she's so sweet and really wants you to engage with the material. Don't listen to the people who gave her bad reviews, they didn't go to class and suffered for it. I'm not a chem person so I had to work pretty hard but she's a great professor.

Glick is very clear about her guidelines. She is fair with tests and gives good practice problems. You do not have to go to class but she is very helpful if you listen. I found her class to be very straightforward after AP Chem. She is always available to help and cares for her students. Great professor, fair class!

she's a great person: super caring, always willing to meet, funny. i found her lectures to be pretty confusing so really helps to read textbook before class. she skips around and doesn't follow her slides. i found this class hard, but her tests were pretty fair if you study. take her over de dios for chem001 or 002

How to get an A: -do practice problems from the book - understand how to do Sapling problems dont just chegg every Q you dont know cuz they can show up on Exams - go to office hours - lectures were 40 mins of useless info and 10 minutes of info you actually need - if anything use the Organic Chemistry Tutor Youtube Channel, GREAT FOR CHEM

Prof Glick provides resources for exam prep like practice worksheets and textbook problems. These are definitely doable in the upcoming days before the exam, and you should do them if you want a good grade. Content is half plug and chug, but the other half is not too difficult either. Solid choice! Made me love chemistry again <3 Highly recommend!

This class was very difficult. Her lectures were incredibly disorganized and I always left confused. She also talks really fast. You really have to invest your time into the book problems and homework if you want to suceed.

Class itself wasn't really too difficult, she gives past exams for practice that often have very, very similar questions to the ones you take. Homework is on Sapling, the additional cost isn't great but the grading for it is very lenient. You can skip her lectures a lot of the time and just read the textbook for less time-consuming explanations.

She goes off on tangents during her lectures and expects you to catch up by posting extremely long videos to watch on your own. The textbook is dense and she sometimes explains concepts poorly. However, her tests are similar to the practice exams she gives out and homework grading is lenient.

Her class was so confusing. Many times I attended lectures that were supposed to be for a specific topic, but left knowing NOTHING essential for the tests nor the class itself. She says she wont be the one responsible to get the information into your brian. What? The purpose of a professor is to teach. This is an excuse because she cant teach.

The class started off really difficult but I think that was to weed people out. Glick is an amazing lecturer and her tests are a reasonable level of difficulty. Genuinely wants to see us succeed. Homework due every Monday but if you can complete it in office hours. TAKE THIS CLASS!!

Prof Glick is a very nice person and cares about her students. However, her lectures tended to feel rushed and often go on tangents. The textbook and the practice problems will be your best friend when it comes to understanding the course material. 90% of your grade comes from tests, so study hard for those (Glick does provide study materials).

In my 3 1/2 years of being a student at Georgetown, I have never had a professor more caring and patient as Prof. Glick. She truly cares about her students and wants them all to succeed. She is willing to help in any way she can. I was really anxious about taking Chem, but she made this experience as smooth as possible. I cannot praise her enough!!

I love Professor Glick! I did not have a good chemistry experience in high school and so I was very worried going into this class as a freshman, but she adapted to the online format really well and I ended with a good grade. I did read the textbook, take notes, and finish homework before class. If you do that, you will be fine.

Prof Glick is my absolute favorite! She made the transition to college-level chemistry so manageable and engaging (especially in a virtual environment). I never expected to laugh so much during a chemistry class but Glick always manages to put a smile on my face. She is super accessible through office hours and provides a lot of review materials.

Dr. Glick was not super approachable. People rarely ask questions in her class, as she tends to answer them very condescendingly. She's not the best with time management, and we often ended up with 1.5-2 hour recorded lectures at the end of the week just to make sure we stayed on track. She does provide lots of study materials for exams though.

This is a great class if you are interested in science but do not have time to take heavy college-level courses. Took until the end of the semester for most things to be graded, but not too big of a deal, and may have been impacted by the stresses of the pandemic. Definitely recommend for science for all!

No respect for her students. Regularly posts HOURS of extra lecture than is slotted by the course credit hours. No consideration for our schedules or the course hours we signed up for. Also condescending when asked for help. Fine professor, but worth it for the lack of professionalism? Dont think so

I used to hate chem, but she really makes it easy to understand and enjoy. Her lectures are clear, organized and actually pleasant to watch, tests are straightforward and fair, she's clear about the material we will be tested on, and she provides good resources for studying for tests. She is very sweet and passionate but doesn't go off on tangents.

Queen Glick. I still use the concepts I learnt from her even in physics, organic chem and biochem. Exams can be tough but she is really fair and just. A real chemistry Queen.

She posts hours of extra lectures every week. She also talks about a lot of unnecessary information, which wastes time. To be fair, she gives past exams to study, which are really similar to the actual exam, so the expectations are clear. The grading is fair, and she gives a good amount of partial credit for calculations even if the answer is wrong

Great class. She's an intriguing lecturer and makes herself very available outside of class (although can be condescending towards some questions). Posts a couple hours of extra lectures a week - my only complaint. Her tests are very straightforward and similar to the practice tests provided.

Professor Glick explained concepts very well, but she went on tangents frequently which prolonged class. To make up for this, we sometimes had to watch recorded lectures to stay on pace. Homework and tests were both very manageable, and she provided study material that made it easy to succeed.

Glick should under no circumstances be allowed to teach. She expects understanding of chemistry before the course, if you are someone who did not have a strong high school chem class, good luck. She's rude when you ask questions. She relies heavily on the fact that TAs for lab will pick up the slack, mine did not. I cry when I do my chem homework.

The material on the tests had nothing to do with what was said during the lectures. In fact, new information was introduced in the exams. Professor Glick was also extremely condescending and passive aggressive during office hours when students asked questions.

To be honest, I don't think professor Glick is that bad. She is very nice and passionate, and trust me, you need her energies and jokes to get through 9am chemistry classes. I guess why people give her low ratings is that her tests are pretty unrelated to her lectures and past exams. Also, her lecture can be confusing.

I learned a lot in this class! Despite her apparent inability to stay on any one slide for more than a minute, I appreciated her consistent (Red-Bull-at-9-AM-fueled) energy throughout lectures. Professor Glick's expectations and grading are pretty fair, but be prepared for extra recorded lectures! Take good notes, and read the textbook.

Professor Glick cares about students and wants us to learn! However, she wasn't kidding when she said 002 is LEVEL 2, not part 2. It was more difficult conceptually than 001, and she expected everyone to have retained 001 knowledge for this course. In-class examples and the textbook helped a lot, especially since she can be confusing in lectures.

Professor Glick was very informative in her lectures, and would take time to explain certain concepts to build a strong foundation for the material. While I have always loved chemistry, I always worry that I might lose interest, but with Professor Glick, I was left more eager than when I started. She made the lectures come alive and interesting. She made great connections between our material and the real world which made the course better than what it was supposed to be.

Energetic + funny lecturer but goes on tangents and has irregular pacing. Stuff covered in lecture is often overwhelming; can make HW seem baffling but it's often not on tests. Tests aren't too difficult tho; very similar to practice tests so def study those over the slides. Don't cram naming right before final so you don't lose easy points on it.

Professor Glick is really passionate about chemistry, but sometimes her own fascination distracts her from actually teaching. Lectures had long tangents and were very hard to follow, she sometimes tested on a single slide from the lectures that she didn't fully explain in the first place. Past exams and homework are the most helpful for exams.

Professor Glick is a good teacher, but the gen chem course itself is a little disconnected. Her lectures are often unfocused and not particularly pertinent to the exams, which make up nearly all of your grade. She's not unfair in any way, just be ready to study outside of lectures and homework.

I absolutely love Professor Glick. She is one of my favorite professors here. She is engaging and enthusiastic about the material. She cares for her students and goes out of her way to really explain concepts. I felt as if I actually learned chemistry rather than memorized random information. Practice exams like actual exams.

Coming into this class I didn't like chemistry, and leaving it I still don't, but Glick makes it much easier to get through it if you don't find chem interesting at all. Take her class over Dedios at all costs!!! Do the textbook problems - it makes it much easier to do the Achieves. Her practice exams are also really similar to the real ones.

She just screams in lectures adn you learn nothing. Do read the textbook, do the problems, and do her practice exams. She's a bit more approachable than De dios but at least he teaches. She can make you feel dumb sometimes. She also tests a lot on your conceptual understanding while de dios is more math problems.

At the beginning of the semester, the content was confusing and her teaching didn't clear it up, but that could have been me personally not understanding it because as the semester progressed her lectures started making more sense. Professor Glick is very nice and passionate about what she does, but Gen Chem is not an easy course, especially if this is your first time taking chemistry in a long time. There are many times when you have to teach yourself, which is annoying but expected. There is a lot of studying and reading needed to get a good grade, but it is doable.

Take Glick over De dios. She truly cares and is such a sweet person, as well as making chemistry interesting through her lectures. If you do textbook problems and practice tests like she tells you to, the tests are typically very similar, making it not that difficult to get an A. Sweetest person ever and go to office hours. Book problems aren't mandatory at all, but for tests review practice tests, Achieve questions, and lecture content (take notes during lectures! It helps!). Hard class but if you put in work, you will reap the benefits.

I took CHEM-1100 (General Chemistry I) with Professor Glick. Overall, I found her lecturing style to be fine. She went over the material in a manner that was clear, and you can easily score well on her tests if you come to lecture and read the textbook. However, I have heard from others that she can be rude during office hours.

Prof Glick is absolutely hilarious and so interesting to listen to. Her lectures were easy to follow because she is so good at teaching them and promoting interest within them. Great teacher for gen chem. Tests were accurate to the study guides. Need to pay attention to the little things in lectures as it is easy to miss important details.

Walking into this class with no prior experience in AP Chemistry or IB, I was able to succeed. The key is to put in the work and attend office hours. PRO-TIP: Redo all practice problems and understand the logic behind them. The professor also drops your lowest test grade and replaces it with your final exam grade if it's beneficial. PICK GLICK!

Took Majors Gen Chem. Glick is an awesome teacher, and engages the class to keep lectures interesting. At times, she can get a bit off track during lectures and behind schedule, but from what I've heard, she's the kindest teacher in the Chem dept. and from my experience the tests weren't that tough if you went over study guides. Would recommend.

Every lecture she rambled a bit off track and expected us to follow her thought path. Went to her in private to ask questions and she seemed annoyed and a tad condescending. When asking her about my mistakes, she spoke as if I should have known it all.

Prof. Glick is the best! She likes to explore the topics and dives deep into their complexities during class, so make sure to read the textbook before attending class. She is very sweet, accommodating, and her final replaces your lowest test score if it's higher. Her lectures are also very thorough and insightful (slides have all definitions).

LOVED Professor Glick. It sometimes feels like she is going off topic, but if you take it all in, watch any additional material she gives you, and do the recommended practice material the class is more than fair. She is very kind and made studying chem a very positive experience.

Dr. Glick is not only an amazing professor, but more importantly, she is an amazing person. Interesting, vivacious lecturer who inspired me with her fashion and love for Chemistry. From experiments in class to engaging practice problems, there was never a dull day in Gen Chem 2. I am going to remember this course for the rest of my life.

I took Dr. Glick for Gen Chem 2, and she was an extremely engaging lecturer. Course material was taught clearly, and she kept the course interesting with good example, experiments in class, etc. Tests were much easier than in Gen Chem 1, although Exam 3 is a bit harder and the end material was somewhat confusing. Overall, I highly recommend Glick.

I ADORED Prof Glick. She genuinely wanted to get to know me, which made Gen Chem 2 just that much more enjoyable. I genuinely looked forward to going to lecture, and she'd even conduct in-class experiments sometimes. Tests were not hard as they were basically repeats of old exams. She is so passionate and intelligent while still being accessible.

My only complaint is the last couple topics she barely covered. Overall very knowledgeable and also very engaging lecturer. Felt like I learned most things better than I did in GenChem 1, despite getting a worse grade. Great professor

I believe Professor Glick is the best professor I've ever had. She helped me work out study strategies and would go over concepts with me until they sank in. She also has helped me study better and is very knowledgeable.
