Classes were pretty boring. She gave excellent study guides for tests, so this class is an easy A!
Lectures right from the book. No need to take notes in the class. Her exam study guides were the best. She gives you the page numbers to the answers to the study guide. Some map quizzes and multiple choice exams. Some movies to watch.
Ok heres the deal, dont bother going to class, complete the study, test come DIRECTLY from the study guide, its the easiest A you can get
There are three geography quizes on textbook maps. One Essay exam (on reading material) and Pop Quizes. Four multiple choice exams (on lecture, text, and readings)and a Final (may be non-cumulative). Class discussions, does not post PowerPoint on Webct, and there may be test reviews. She brings in visual things pertaining to periods discussed.
Her class discussions can get a bit boring, but her class is an easy A. She gives study guides for the tests and the questions are straight from the guide. I would definitely recommend her to you.
She is a very nice and delicate person. It was a plesure just to be in her class.During the course you had 4 tests (final not copmrehensive), 3 geography quizes, 3 pop-quizes (we watched historical movie and answered the quiestion), and essay. She graded everything very fairly. If you have any questions she will work with you as much as you need.
nice teacher. i didn't like the way that she graded. i wrote a 5 page essay as a part of the first test and i only passed by like 4 points!!! grades on class participation and it is virtually IMPOSSIBLE to get all 20 pts for that! i would have preferred to have more grades in the class. there were about 5 grades in all, so don't mess up on anything
i love ms honey! i had her for an 8am class and listening to her talk about history was pretty boring. she gives you a study guide for the exam and as long as you do the study guide you will get an A! she also has EASY movie quizzes and geography quizzes!
She is the sweetest lady ever and she is wonderfully easy, all you have to do is the study guide for each test and you have a gauranteed A! all multiple choice!
Ms. Honey is really easy going but sooo boring to listen to. She tries to make the material interesting but wasn't very successful. Test were very easy - just follow the study guide. Attendance is necessary to get all of the participation points.
takes attendance too serious. I had all A's and B's on test and quizzes but she gave me a C because i had more than 2 absences.
Good teacher, but kind of boring at 8 in the morning. Takes her FOREVER to grade things and/or give back the grades. MUST go to class. Do the study guide and you'll do fine on tests. Otherwise very nice and knows her stuff.
I highly suggest not taking Diana Honey. I read reviews about her and thought the class sounded easy. BUT she has recently modified her teaching style, and now her test are not online. The tests are 50-question highly DIFFICULT multiple-choice exams. Overall, I've learned nothing from the class, it's terribly boring, and it is very difficult
I'm not sure if it was the class itself or Dr. Honey, but I was bored stiff the entire time. She gives great study guides, but test questions are very vague and are not very well written. I suggest someone else if you're just taking this class as a gen-ed requirement.
Class was extremely boring, to be fair it wasn't completely her fault as the subject wasn't that interesting to begin with. Takes forever to grade things & tests have little to do with what is presented in class but they follow the study guides pretty closely.
EASY!! I took this course in the summer. It was so easy and she made it very interesting. I don't even like history but I always paid attention. I wish I had her more often.
Fairly easy.4 exams. Final not comprehensive. Easy geography and movie quizes. 3 page-long book review. Attendance mandatory and counts for grade.
Easy A as long as you take GREAT notes in class, do the study guides (read the book for questions not given in lecture), and show up to class. There is a book review you must do that is not any diff than any other english paper. Overall, her class is straight forward and well scheduled. Good prof
I would definitely recommend Professor Honey. Her lectures can be a little dull, but she definitely gives you all the info you need. She lectures right along with the chapters, and her tests go directly with the study guide. 4 exams and 1 book review (I feel like I shouldn't have to say this...but READ THE BOOK!).
gave us a study guide 4 each test which was pretty much the test. i went into the last test w/ an 89 relying on it to bump my grade up 2 an A. she found out someone stole 1 of the tests and @ the last min she changed the test to make it super hard. everyone got bad grades and she ended up not counting the grade so i got screwed & ended up w/ a B
Recommended, tests come straight from the book, I am not a great tester but I still got a B in her class, she'll work with you if you're having a hard time, amazing!!! Her tests seem hard but they're really easy as her tests come STRAIGHT from the study guide! If you go to class, do the assignments you'll be fine watches lot of fun videos good prof
Lectures are straight from the book. She is kind of soft-spoken,but is very nice. Take notes and read the chapters. The chapters are pretty lengthy too,so don't get behind on the readings. Her tests are multiple choice, but are kind of tricky. Pay attention and you should be fine.
Awesome teacher.. she loves for you to participate in class and will help you more when you need it if you have done so. She does teach what is already written in your book but she has a great deal of info to add to the material if you ask. She is obviously very well versed on history. Her voice is very soothing though and sometimes its lulling.
This teacher is very good. It is a lecture class, but she tries to break it up with movies with worksheets. The tests are very hard though because there are so many chapters on each test. She gives study guides that are helpful. Attendence is mandatory.
Professor is very nice and she will work with you....i would advice one to get the book...you have to take yours notes, pay attention in class, and read on your own....test are multiple choice but kind of tricky.
Lectures are boring and sometimes she reads straight from the book. She does not give study guides for tests buy will post review topics. She gives 3 quizzes throughout the semester that total 30% of your grade. They are easy and she tells you what will be on them. Attendance counts for 5% of the grade. Easy A.
Very boring professor. A sweet lady, but could lull you into a coma in .5 secsonds. Tests are not long, but cover a great deal of information. The most annoying thing about the way Honey teaches is that she does not teach in a chronological order. One would assume that HISTORY should be taught in this manner, but no. Anyone can do well, but boring.
GOOD HISTORY PROFESSOR BECAUSE SHE TEACHES IN A BALANCED WAY. SHE USES THE BOOK YOU PAY FOR, AND SHE IS NOT USING THE CLASS TO ESPOUSE HER PERSONAL VIEWS ON HISTORY - RARE IN A HISTORY PROFESSOR. SHE IS VERY KIND AND LIKES TO HELP WHEN YOU HAVE A QUESTION.
attendance is mandatory, but people signed me in most of the time. going to class is boring. Buy the book because the test come STRAIGHT from the study guide. Do the study guides and you will pass test. some quizes but she tells you whats on it. pretty easy teacher
Make sure to study the study guide she gives you and take very good and detailed notes....Wonderful for History majors!
Gives history personality and can be very funny if you listen to her. ALL YOU NEED IS THE TEXT BOOK TO DO WELL. Read and you will make an A. She has 2 big quizzes and then 7ish video worksheets. Only complaint is I would have liked is she had taken more control over our "2nd teacher".. but I definitely recommend her to anyone! She's nice & helpful.
This is not a hard class if you study. You do not get to see powerpoints online. CLass is very boring. If you dont like to study outside the classroom then do not take this teacher.
Class is a bit boring but not too hard. Take notes and fill out the study guide and you should get a B. Attend for the videos as the worksheets that go with them help your final grade. Not a bad teacher but likes to talk about many things that aren't on the test.
Drink lots of coffee before coming to class or you will fall asleep. Very boring.. I've had better history Prof's. You're better off taking Reesor.
This teacher is very hard to follow in class because she bounces back and forth through different topics. Note taking is important, but it is hard to understand her notes because she is unclear. Took the entry level history course and it ended up being my hardest class compared to chemistry and anatomy classes.
Great professor, awful book. She jumps around because the material in the book does. Tries to follow book but adds outside material to make it more interesting. Not an easy class. Especially with the book we used. Overall, an interesting class.
Very very boring professor. Her tests are practically impossible to understand with how she words them and she takes an extremely long time to grade anything. She speaks in a very dull monotone voice and will most likely put you to sleep. I would NOT suggest taking her class. Worst professor I have EVER had anywhere.
Bounces around a lot and that makes not taking a real challenge. Only read one chapter of the book and still got an A because she gives study guides that give you all you need to know about the tests. 3 non-cummulative exams, 3 geography quizzes, and 3 video worksheets and that is all. Nice easy class, but take notes.
When she gives you the syllabus you will think it will be easy. Lectures are boring, she studies periods of time rather than civilizations as a whole She speaks in a very dull monotone. She is friendly but her classes are way too big and you will not get personalized help.
I loved her! Read her syllabus and if you are willing to read a pretty good (sometimes made me giggle) textbook, like 200pgs per exam, and keep up with a few easy map/video quizzes it's an easy A. She is also interesting in her lectures, and talks about things that aren't in the book... but the book is all you need to do well. TAKE HER! :)
Best teacher I've had. Very thorough and interested in her subject. She made history interesting! The book was not that great but she presented the material in a concise and understandable manner. Tests were harder than expected but fair. Take this teacher if possible!!!
I love this professor! The book was not the best, but she even said herself it jumps around the timeline too much. She gives great study guides and if you read the chapter summaries online, it helps a lot. She also gives video worksheets that are basically completion grades and does not put questions from the videos on the test.
Very sweet and full of energy. Easy to follow and she cares about her subject. Lectures are very interesting if you like history. Three tests and a few video worksheets, no other grades besides attendance.
This professor literally read notes provided by the book's website to the class every single class. Not much of a professor but if you print off those notes & read the textbook & fill in the study guide from those notes you will get an A. There are 3 exams, 3 easy quizzes, & some easy video worksheets.
There are definitely easier teachers. Avoid her if you want an easy A. The class is SOO boring and all she does is read the notes off. You can learn everything from your house for the tests. Do the study guides and you will make at least a B.
Professor is GREAT! She is very knowledgeable, and willing to help. Show up to class, READ THE BOOK, do the study guide, and you will do fine in this class!
Good professor, kinda boring and monotone. Tests werent too bad, definitely need to study though. Dont avoid her, but dont expect to get an easy A. I would take her again
She is a pretty easy teacher. All we did was take notes off of the power points. You have 3 tests and a final, plus 3 or 4 geography quizzes which are insanely easy, I got 100 on every one. Pretty much just go to class and take notes and you're good. Not much effort is needed for this class at all.
Very easy class. No need to pay attention to lectures. Gives a study guide a week before every exam and the questions are in order of the study guide. Just do the guide, learn whats on it, and forget the rest of what was in class. Easy A.
Ms. Honey is not the best teacher I've ever had. She has to teach so much info that the daily class gets to be very boring and dry. She tries a joke every once in a while, but it never works out. She seems very strict at the beginning but shes not that bad. Just made an exciting class pretty boring, still got an easy A. Use book to make study guide
Dr. Honey is very easy. Just read the book, study your geography, and attend class especially on days she shows videos. She really wants the class to succeed and it shows. She is very forward. Her lectures may seem slow but she encourages you to listen and not just take notes. I did enjoy this class!
She enjoys teaching and enjoys sharing what she knows with her students. Nice lady and easy to talk too. Not as appreciated as she should be, but she's a good teacher and you can make an A if you attend class.
if you are not a good test taker, RUN! test are 60%. never made less than a 88 on ANY assignment. but still got a D because of her impossible to pass tests.
Easy A. She has moved all of her tests online. I recommend getting the online textbook. She gives out study guides but I hardly used them. 3 online tests, 4 map tests, 3 video worksheets which were interesting. She is a bit monotone, but loves the information and is VERY knowledgeable about what she is teaching.
No more study guides! There is a lot of material and no guidance on what to study! Three tests and a lot of busy work( that she takes a year to grade) make up your grade. She is very very strict about texting in class and sleeping! I would recommend taking any other teacher!
Do not believe the comments before 2014. I came into this class thinking it was going to be an easy A and a slack off class. The history department changed our curriculum without any warning. The tests are online, we have essay assignments, online map quizzes, articles, daily hw, and she also takes attendance; NO MORE STUDY GUIDES!!!!!!!!!
Do not buy the book, study guides can be found online- they are replicas of the tests. There are simple geography quizzes. All test/quizzes are online. Three short essays are required. A lot of simple video worksheets. Do not come to class it will bore you.
Going to the actual class will put you to sleep and she will deduct from your final grade. But she will also deduct an imaginary attendance grade not posted in the grade make-up stated in the syllabus to bring you a letter grade down if you don't attend class...
BE. SMART. DO NOT TAKE HER. You have to work hard to get an A.This is supposed to be a general course class.I got all high As on exams but still managed to receive a B because the “video wks counted half as much as the exams”.DOESNT MAKE SENSE,Pick a different prof online/hybrid anyone BUT HER!!! YOU ARE BEING WARNED,TAKE AT YOUR OWN RISK
Easy class, but she entered my grade in on owl express wrong at the end of the semester. Keep track of your grade because she messed up about 50% of the class. She gave me a B but has to change it to an A because she miscalculated. Keep an eye on your grade because she makes errors. Don't buy textbook. Outlines are found online that are better.
Honeys lectures are the worst thing about her class. They are very boring and unlively. But her class is very easy. There are weekly quizzes, but they aren't difficult at all. I would take her again, but at a later time in the day. As long as you go to class you'll be fine.
Very easy class, but it's a long one. Nothing against her she is very passionate about History and really does care but that is the longest hour and 15 minutes of my life. You need the book, the quizzes come right from it. All tests are online and every answer is on Quizlet.
Honey is very passionate about the subject, she tries to make jokes in class but they are never funny. She is sweet and genuinely wants the kids to learn, even when she acts tough. She is big on time-management, so if you ever miss an essay, tell her you messed up with time-management. As long as you read the crazy long chapters- you will pass easy
She was a great teacher! As long as you take notes on her lectures, you will get a 100 on the quizzes. Tests are a bit difficult, but worth taking. She clearly knows what she is talking about and helps students.
Taken online. Weekly modules are very self explanatory. WATCH the lectures! All of the quiz questions come from them. Some are 45 minutes some are an hour. Take notes on them- you will need them for your essays. Very easy to communicate with!
All of her tests are online. Shes very mono tone and has entire class period lectures. She is soft spoken but very nice. Shes passionate about her subject and loves a good class debatediscussion. She absolutely has a lot of knowledge on history and will explain anything in detail if asked. She uses exams from quizlet. Need I say more?
I had a hard time in the class, but I don't think it was Prof. Honey's fault. Yes, her presentations are a little boring, and she's sit on one p. point slide for ages, but other than that, she did well considering she had to cram two thousand years of history into one semester. Helped when I asked. Read the book, take notes. Quizzes and tests easy.
She is sweet and truly cares about her students, but will call you out if you're being disrespectful. Her lectures are long, but interesting. Go to class because she has a scary attendance policy of "4 absenses a failing grade". If you are doing well and care about her class, she'll give you the grade you deserve tho! Tests and quizzes online.
Normally all A student, the tests in a CORE class killed it. They are excessively specific given the vast amount of information covered and she refuses to adjust grades despite most doing poorly. Shes sweet, class is okay, but the tests are abnormally specific and difficult. Reading the text book would not help unless you had a photographic memory.
Came into this class having read good reviews on her . The first test was the most difficult history test I had ever taken. Tests are online and require a lockdown browser and webcam program (prevents ANY outside help during test). Test way too specific for how much material is covered. I would choose another professor.
I'm usually an A student, but her tests are so hard. I've never done so poorly in a class. Tests are specific with 5 chapters of information, and all done with a lockdown browser and camera. She doesn't adjust or curve grades, so be ready to study and study hard. Other than that she's an awesome person, and her lectures are interesting.
I'm a straight A student, and I'll be lucky if i pass with a C. Class was nice, and she's a nice professor. But the tests are too difficult. They're online, really specific and there's a lock-down browser with a camera. Would not recommend taking.
She's a very sweet lady. I took this class hoping it would be easy. All the test are online with a lockdown browser and a webcam so absolutely no help. The test are also very difficult and specific. I read the book and manage to do well on the test. Also I studied for the test for two weeks. DO NOT TAKE
Online lock down browser tests with webcam. More specific than it should be for a CORE class. Tests are extremely difficult. Nice lady, dreadful experience.
Professor Honey was a very nice lady and she had informational lectures. The class was pretty hard but there are quizlets online that if you study them you should do pretty well on the test. You definitely have to read because her tests are super specific, but she lets you take all of her quizzes twice so you should never get below a 100 on them.
Very sweet lady, heavily recommend you get the assigned textbook. Study very hard for her exams, especially since online exams are on lockdown browser with a webcam. Lectures are mostly on powerpoint, but show up to class b/c sometimes she tells us things in class that are on our test that isn't in the book. Overall, great lady and would take again
The powerpoints she goes over in class dont help you at all. They mostly help her with remembering what each person did. Theyre just bullet points. Her exams are EXTREMELY difficult and you will need to study for DAYS TO PASS. I literally studied for 9 hours before i took exam 1 and i still got a 48. Theyre all online tests too on lockdown.
There is no homework and hardly any tests, exams, or quizzes, so they are weighted a lot and they are on things not only we don't cover in class, but topics the book either didn't touch on or briefly touched on. I'm i have a B or an A in all my other classes, this is the only one I've failed.(doing better in math too)
Very boring lectures, Diana is quite sassy, and if you're more than five minutes late she won't let you in the door. Don't take this class; however, if you get stuck with her like I did all of her test questions can be found on quizlet... Just type in the name of the textbook and what chapter ur on. Tests are online + webcam. GOOD LUCK
Nice lady, just kind of a lazy teacher and doesn't take much interest in your grade. Very few tests and grades in general. Most of class failed, do not take this professor.
Professor Honey is AMAZING!!!! She's smart and very knowledgable. You can defiantly tell that she loves her job and is passionate about History. She gives key words before the Exam so if you read each key word thoroughly and take notes, you are more than likely to pass her exam (which are pretty straightforward from the lecture and key words).
Professor Honey was one of my favorite professors this semester. She was funny and joked along with the class. However, her class is VERY HARD! I felt like the lectures only covered 25% of what was on the tests. That being said, make sure to read the textbook as the class moves along. All of the tests are online with a webcam.
Professor Honey is extremely nice and enthusiastic about history. However at times I felt her lectures were filled with irrelevant information. Only 3 Exams and 3 quizzes with webcam lockdown browser. The exams had little to no relevance to the Powerpoints and it would take a historical genius to remember all of the useless terms on the exam.
Professor Honey is a nice teacher. The class is made up of 3 major test worth 60% of your grade, 3 map quizzes, and attendance. Attendance is taken with a sign in sheet and can easily be changed days later. The test and quizzes are all online and only the major test are monitored. Simple class if you study slide shows. Good Luck!
She knows her material and gives great lectures. You should read the book and listen carefully to the small things she says. Her tests can be very specific and some questions are very questionable to why they are on there. The tests are hard, but it's expected from a college level class. 3 Geography quizzes,2 tests, and a final are only grades.
This is really just an average history class, meaning the lectures are insanely boring but show up anyway because she sends out a sign in sheet every day(you can't have more than three absences). The class consists of three online geography quizzes(open-book) and then three online tests with a webcam..p.s. all the test questions come from quizlet.
Professor Honey is a nice lady. Her class is difficult and she lectures a lot. Tests are with lockdown browser and webcam. She gives extra points for attendance, so go to class.
Professor Honey is a sweet lady but not a professor I would recommend if you don't like lectures. All she does every class is goes over a powerpoint and you are expected to take notes.
sucks
Prof. Honey deeply knows and cares about world history. Not everyone got her sense of humor but I found her very funny and she tried to keep people interested in her lectures. The tests are very much based on the textbook and can be challenging if you dont study enough.
She is a nice person and knows her material very well. I would definitely take her if I was a history major but if your major have nothing to do with history and you need to focus on other subjects (related to your major), I wouldnt recommend her because you do have to study to get an A. Its not an easy A like introductory classes.
she was a very old schooled type of professor other than the fact she made you take exams with a webcam and lockdown browser. I'm a good student and I barely passed her class. The exams are very hard, and she gives a list of topic words for each chapter for each unit exam and most of the time, the words aren't on the exam. waste of time!
She is such a sweet woman and you can tell she truly cares about history, however, the tests are extremely difficult. and there's only 3 of them. Lectures are long and somewhat boring, no phones, computers, or even earbuds are allowed to be used in class. The weekly 250 word discussion is an easy 100 if you do it, but that doesn't help much
DO NOT TAKE PROFESSOR HONEY. Her lectures are painfully boring to sit through, and her tests are way way WAY too specific. Our class got a 40 average on the first and she refused to do review for the next or curve because "college professors don't curve." Unbelievable woman. It feels like she truly wants everyone to fail, and I can't stand her.
the worst class I have ever taken, her tests are ridiculous and consist of random specific facts over at least 4 different chapters, she doesn't even review for the test which is online and on lock down browser, don't take this class if history isn't your best subject
She is a very hard professor that does not budge for you. Very frustrating
This class is really difficult. Tests are a major part of the grade. Tests are 50 questions and it is online and recorded. The questions are pooled 75 from the book and 75 from lecture so there is zero chance to get the same test as anyone. The questions are so specific you have to read everything so careful. I would not recommend taking her.
Professor Honey is extremely knowledgeable about the subject. She is very caring and sweet. Really enjoyed her class in general. Tests are all online and very detailed.
DO NOT TAKE!!! Very difficult class. Test are super specific. Most of class failed the test. She is nice lady and means well, but she makes her class way to difficult. Unless you are a history genius do not take this class!
Overall, Professor Honey is very knowledgeable and passionate about history, and she wants you to enjoy it too. She uses a lockdown browser and webcam for tests, which are difficult. You have to use the book and lecture notes to do well. You have an easy discussion grade once a week. She is nice, but a little tough!
The professor does not know how to use online tools. The modules were not accessible until halfway through the week most of the time. The final exam was not accessible until the last day of the semester and the professor did not respond to emails concerning our material not being available. Very slow at communicating and grading. Do not recommend.
She is very unorganized, and messed up two out of three exams this semester. Even when I listened to her lectures, took notes and studied; I still failed her exams. She gives other opportunities for grades, so you can pass even when you fail all three exams. She makes this core class extremely difficult for no reason.
The content is generally easy. You get 2 attempts on each quiz. You get 2 attempts on the test (tests are different each time). The tests are VERY specific so BEWARE. Study hard for the tests, do the quizzes and discussions, and you will get an A.
I would not take this professor. She starts off the class saying you should spend hours daily on the d2l page and that she checks that. Her essays are graded not on the actual history material you write, but your grammar. The exams are just specific questions that you cant possibly remember and everyone does bad on them. No extra credit.
At the beginning of this semester, I thought the class was going to be okay. The weekly quizzes are not very hard. But let me tell you. Her essays are horrible. She never gave me feedback on the context of my essay and would give me bad grades just for my grammar. The tests were awful. A lot of people failed because of how specific the tests were.
Honey isn't horrible, but she is not sweet! Her class requires deep dives on info not presented in the textbook, and she's a bit out of the loop regarding notification. I didn't particularly love the number of questions on tests/their difficulty, but I really liked the Virtual Museums!
She absolutely sucks ! Do not take her. Shes very rude just by her replies to emails you can tell she doesnt really care to help and will pick on you for every little thing !
The tests are hard, she's not very kind or understanding, and took weeks to reply to some of my emails. A little arrogant and her lectures are boring; however, there's no attendance and it's easy to teach yourself if you're good at history. She's probably the worst, most unkind professor I've had so far.
Do not take her class! I will admit she's great at some points. Like I forgot to reply to 2 people in a discussion but I posted, and she gave me full credit for an all or nothing assignment. Her weekly quizzes have 2 chances so you should get 100 the second time. Her tests though are terrible. SEVERAL mistakes, very specific ?'s you wont remember.
Not the best professor in the world but definitely not the worst. Gives weekly assignments and quizzes that are not hard. Exams can be difficult but aren't terrible if you study. Lectures the whole class and can get a little boring but she definitely stays on topic and covers what needs to be covered.
Diana Honey's tests are unbearably difficult. There are many A students in this course that failed the first two tests because the information in the lectures was irrelevant to the test material. In our group me we took a poll each time and the majority made less than a 70, even with good study practice. She would not work with us. HORRIBLE PROF!!!
The exams are way too hard. Specific, weird, unattainable questions that most of the time are not even on the word list. Professor Honey is very nice in class and she does do a good job lecturing, but the exams outweigh her personality. Drop the class immediately.
If you skip class you really won't pass! Tests are not even over her extremely info-heavy lectures they come straight from the textbook. Heavy reading is required along with at least 1 quiz and a 200-word minimum discussion post every week. You had better be ready to work hard for this Gen Ed History credit bc she definitely doesn't make it easy!
You will do well in this course if you take your learning to a level 4 on Bloom Taxology. She generously gives study aides: weekly objectives, vocab. and posts are connecting to the current lecture's main idea. You'll learn a lot of interesting bits in this class, especially if you prep before the lecture.
She is not very lenient at all, deadlines are final. Half of the content on her tests are from lectures and the other half are from the book so you have to pay attention in class. Not the most interesting to listen to.
Reads basically off of slide, doesnt cover all material so textbook needed. 1 quiz (2 attempts on lockdown browser) and 1 discussion every week. Very broad and has a lot of information to remember. Not being good at history, there is no help given or tools provided to make it any easier. Only taking notes and paying attention is not enough to pass
Honey is awesome. She has weekly quizzes & discussion posts to help boost your grade, and they are easy if you read the textbook. Her in-class lectures can be a little dry but are interesting if you know history or have an interest in it going in. She is willing to work with you on grades & does her best. Take her if you want to do well and learn.
She just didnt really have much to offer with being more than a college student. Its a class that you can teach yourself because all she talks about is the power point on D2L. I tried to excuse a day once and she was really difficult and not easy to work with.
Her class is lecture heavy, but it is history after all. She has a very dry sense of humor and manages to crack a joke for every lecture. Learn your geography, there was a pop quiz once a month on labelling countries. Weekly discussion boards need in-depth study for full credit. Great professor, willing to work with students to improve grades.
We had discussions and quizzes due every week, but they were pretty simple. Only 3 exams and the rest of your grades are the quizzes and discussions. Study the power points. Not a difficult course, probably would have gotten a better grade if I studied more. All quizzes and exams are lockdown and webcam. Overall, it was not bad!
Weekly discussions and quizzes in lockdown browser. 3 tests over the course of the semester. If you miss something, you can't make it up unless you can provide a doctor's note or some other reason as to why you couldn't take it/turn it in. Not a class I would take again. Teacher was difficult to work with. Tedious work.
You can get extra credit for the syllabus quiz at the beginning but thats it. Discussion and weekly quiz are due on Sunday. Discussion are an easy A but shes strict on citing. Quizzes are only 5 questions and are answers straight from the PowerPoint. The test are the toughest as she gives you keywords but are worded differently on the test.
Her class is very lecture based but the stuff she lectures over has nothing to do with what the quizzes/exams are over, the textbook you have to use is downloadable online. You get graded one three things in the class, A virtual museum post weekly, weekly quizzes, and 3 exams- final is non cumulative
She was nice and tried to be funny but her lectures were very bland. Her tests were also much different than what we learned in class and there was only three. I would not take her again but she was kind and understanding to our class.
I took this class Fall 2021. Dr. Honey was okay but the class was boring. Attendance was mandatory but you could miss up to six classes before points were taken from your final grade. The best advice I have is to READ THE TEXTBOOK. Her tests are purely based on the textbook, not class lectures. She gives a special topics guide before every test.
You have to read the test book to pass the tests. Weekly quizzes (with a webcam) are based on the lectures. Her lectures are very long and tedious, but she is sweet. In my opinion, the class was just more difficult than needed for a gen ed history class.
good luck. Power points are the weekly quizzes. Discussion post every 3 weeks but take forever and dont do anything. No homework though and no final. 3 exams, and you have to get a 70 on each exam with 100s on everything else to get a B. Alot to cover and she doesn't pinpoint anything to study. so you have to know EVERYTHING. passable but hard.
Her class is so so much work for just a gen ed class. I'm currently taking 2 history classes and professor honey's is at least twice the work as my other one. On top of that, our quizzes and exams have questions containing the most specific and useless knowledge instead of the actually important things we would've learned in class.
Professor Honey's online class is a mess. The syllabus is from like three years ago and so are the recorded lectures. The lectures very from 40 mins to over 2 hours each week. Weekly discussion posts and quizzes that add up to be a good chunk of your grade. Geography quizzes weigh the same as a test. I would not take her again or recommend her.
Honestly, I liked professor Honey, she seemed to care about her students, however I was blindsided by the way her tests were laid out. She commonly would say "this isn't in the book, but" and never emphasized reading the textbook. The second test I failed because the questions were entirely form the book, not lecture. Read the textbook.
Not the hardest class but the lectures are so painful to sit through. monotone voice for an hour to an hour and a half. most of the class work is easy with some simple geography quizzes and discussions that are graded pretty easily. but the tests are nearly impossible.
bro this professor, her grading is hard for no reason she grades like ur on the death penalty or sum plus gives hella hw and assignments like can i not live? can i breathe?
Professor Honey's class is lecture-heavy, but Unstuck study and the textbook are key to doing well. Quizzes and discussions are manageable if you stay on top of the material. Tests can be tricky, so be prepared.
Personally I didn't mind her as a professor. She is very monotone and lecture heavy but she tries to make the class engaging. The tests are hard and you do have to read your textbook. There are 3 geography quizzes and weekly quizzes that are pretty easy though. She is pretty lenient on attendance as long as you email her about what is going on.
Absolutely one of the worst professors. Monotone voice while talking about slides and she WILL get caught off guard and not have time to talk about the rest of the slides when there is a weekly quiz. READ TEXTBOOKS OR YOU WILL FAIL EXAMS! NOTHING she teaches will be on exams! Terrible professor who never answered my email during add or drop week.
Diana is a boring professor & her class sessions do nothing for your grade on a quiz or exam. I spent my time in class studying the exam key word sheet instead of listening to her. She's really bad at admitting when she's wrong and will take offense if you even allude to knowing more than her on a subject. If you have NO OTHER OPTION, take her.
I've heard a lot of good things about her as an in person professor but her online class was so unorganized and tricky. Lectures are 10 years old (VERY dated from the textbook) and always cut halfway through so you don't get full lectures on the chapter. Exams are really difficult and I'm usually a good history student, but the quizzes weight out.
her online class was abysmal. unorganized, no room for grades as there are no assignments. lectures, notetaking, quizzes, will NOT help you for the exams. lectures felt outdated and were unhelpful. no accountability when emailing her. strict grading. doomed to fail. my 2nd history class this semester but this one was awful im typically an A student
quizzes every week plus a big history paper right in the middle of the semester. all quizzes and tests were online, proctored lockdown browser. you can even retake the quizzes a second time. as long as you actually keep up with the reading, easy A.
