Very helpful, intelligent woman, sad to not see her again next semester

Good prof, helps out a lot when asking questions, marks fairly hard, has to be an incredible paper to get an A.

I can't seem to get anything other than 5/10, 10/20, or 50%. I hate english.

Really nice person, but she marks really hard, impossible to get anything higher than in the 70's for an essay, but not a lot of assignments, so not too much homework. Essay topics are hard to comprehend.

she is really nice, she will know ur name, and help u w/ ur homwork, but u have to ask. And when u get a good grade in her class u know that u have worked hard to get it. i recomend her to anyone, she really knows her stuff.and by the end u will too

Her essays are extremely tough. If it isn't exactly her way, you are bound to get 60% or lower. She is willing to help which is nice. Save yourself getting a 60% when you can take it with someone else and pull out at least a 70%.Her marking is inconsistent compared to the rest of the English profs.

She is a good prof but picks horrible books. Loves her grammar but is an easy marker as long as you do the work.

I complained about her for awhile, but then she helped me with my last essay and I did really well on it, so I started liking her, she's not as bad as I thought! Don't judge a book by it's cover!

Excellent prof! very open to suggestion, no right or wrong answers. if you have an opinion SAY IT! the more you talk the better marks you get she loves to hear your side. not a bad marker, but picks the most boring books possible. defiantly a good engl 110 prof tho.

excellent prof! easy marker but do the work. the books she picks can be tedious but once in a while you can get a good one. she's always there to help when it's needed and her comments are helpful as well!

Awesome prof! If you want a class where you expand your ability to express opinions, this is an awesome class! She is very helpful and open-minded, and is an easy marker, if you do the work.

Great! Very friendly and helpful if you have questions or want to improve your mark. Very little homework compared to other profs (a few assignments and three essays throughout the semester, no poetry assignments but one poetry essay). Revises your essays before you hand them in to be marked, most people I know get in the 70s, 80s on essays.

Very easy class if you already know how to write proper english. She is very much into the environment and if you follow along with that topic you will do well. Along with 4 other classes her weekly assignments got a little too much. Would have been better without all of the mini assignments.

one of the best profs i've ever had. she is an easy marker, especially for an english class, and she is very open to everyone's opinions. true, the books weren't all that bad, not something i'd pick myself, but they were ok. DEFINITLY take a class from her if you want your average to go up.

There were some stupid kids in my class that thought that she was a really tough marker - read the material! Some group work (frustrating b/c of above stupid kids). The journalling was a little intense but she was pretty specific about what she wants out of your writing. Just listen to her!

This was a great class. Diana is not a hard marker, as much as the fact that there are alot of dumb people who try to do the university thing. If you are reasonably intellectual, and do the work, you shall do just fine, end of discussion.

She REALLY LIKES OPINIONS and is really passionate about the stuff that is covered in class...if your not interested in that stuff i don't suggest taking the class. She is more than willing to help but sometimes its hard to know what she wants but most times its just something creative, unique and balanced.

Very good! The Eng 101 I took from her was difficult only because she expects your best effort. With that said she provided an excellent introductory to English at a university level. Significant focus on overall writing skills and technique, but extremely effective! A tough but very rewarding class!

I thought she was a great prof. She was very helpful, like when it came to the major essays if you wanted her to read your rough copy she offered good advice. I learned quite a lot of valuable things and the topics covered in class were interesting. I am not a fan of english,but this class was good. I definitely recommend taking a class from her.

Overall, I thought she was a great prof. It's refreshing to have someone who knows your name! Our class was small and she had us work with everyone. She was helpful oustide the classroom, offering students the chance to have her proofread an essay before handing it in. I really enjoyed her class and I know everyone in the class felt the same!

A good English teacher, especially if you like the material (took her environmental lit class) and are brave enough to speak during class discussion. Unfortunately some people aren't assertive enough to do so, and may feel left out. Those complaining about her picking favorites or being a hard marker: university's not for everyone, deal with it!

Diana was great. She teachers and marks at a university level, and is very fair, and a great teacher. She is passionate about what she teachers, especially the environmental aspect, and anyone who really has a problem with her, clearly has sub par english skills,and should go back to highschool.

Good prof! Hard marker and her assignment outlines are never that clear, but go to the writing center as much as possible!!!!! you'll most likely get a better grade. Talk as much as you can and voice your opinions. Get on her good side and the class goes way easier!

Great prof! I loved the material in class, and I especially enjoyed her passion about it. If you write what she wants to hear, you will do very well, as I did. Do some research on the cold war prior to class, it will increase your mark with further knowledge, and be very environmentaly friendly!

I thought that Diana was a great prof. She expects a high level of effort on all writing assignments, which is obvious for a university class, and will mark you fairly as long as you can justify your answer. I liked that there were not many writing assignments - an essay summary, in class movie review and only one essay. Lots of discussion!

Great prof who treats everyone fairly, is passionate and well-informed. Always prepared and expects the same from her students. She does not tolerate **** and made that clear for the beginning. Her genuine interest and passion for the subjects made this class great fun for me, even though you have to work hard to get good marks.

If you actually put forth an effort you will get a good grade. Anyone who said they received poor marks, obviously handed in poor work. She loves class participation and if you're the shy type, you will get participation marks for joining in discussion in smaller groups. I was scared to take this class but it turned out amazing :) I recommend her

A respectable prof with an appreciation for her craft. Skills from Diane's class easily accrued mid to high 90's in other classes. Advice: ensure that you complete the prescribed readings and expect quizzes. Attendance is also very important.If you are a slacker looking for an easy snooze: you may want to go elsewhere.

Class was interesting and lectures were not boring. a lot of poetry and a lot of group discussions. Class was very hard but not absolutely impossible. She likes students who participate in class discussions so do that to get on her good side.

Great teacher! She's smart, passionate and wants students to care. If you're complaining about her, you're likely dumb and lazy. Uni's not for you I'm thinkin'.

If you try really hard in this class you will do ok...not great, but ok. Perhaps 100 level university english is not for her as it is clear she is trying to weed out all the high school kids. Another Prof would be a better choice. Absolutley picks favourites!

Extremely hard marker!the class is not boring,she looks like a nice person,but dont let that fool you!she asked me to made a draft for my final essay,I did it,she gave me fee back,I asked her if the idea was good, she said YES.but for the final copy she decided she didnt like my idea any more and I got a really bad mark. =S

may seem tough but very fair and helpful, her class will develop your skills. use her instruction and READ what she assigns, or else you'll throw away marks. very glad i took her class.

I found that she is a great english teacher. She doesnt bore you with long lectures and doesnt overload you with work and her grading is fair. People think they should get a 90 with her but no, unless you really deserve it. Shes not going to baby you, and nor should she. She knows her stuff and there are definately way worse english teachers.

She is a tough prof but if you make the effort in and out of class you will do well. She expects her students to be prepared and motivated. You will learn alot if you are open to it and dont whine about the work.I found her very helpful and available.

I really really adore Diana. She is a tough marker but it's because she wants you to learn. She is passionate about her classes and want's group discussion. She makes you think- and wants you to work for a good mark. You'll probably get a 70 in the class, but learn so much!

Hard marker.

Good teacher. You get what you put in. My efforts were recognized and this class helped my writing a lot. Would definatly take again.

Diana is tough but fair. She pushes you to put forth a real effort, and she rewards you for the work you put in. If you're too lazy to show up to class and put in the work, your mark will reflect it, and it's no one's fault but your own. Her expectations are crystal clear at all times, and they are easily met.

I got a lot out of this class. She make you think. Readings were excellent. Take her class if you want to learn something.

I waited to take this class til my 4th year, so by now I've had a lot of profs. She rates amongst the best. She challenges you to think and express yourself.

Diana is strict, but fair and helpful as long as your willing to make an effort in the classroom. She was always there for extra support and help if need be in classes, and I really enjoyed having her. She is wonderful!

I learned a ton about analysis and about writing. She's tough, no doubt. MIght as well get your money's worth.

I like her style and eventually caught onto her sense of humour. You have to be paying attention. She's tough. No grade gifts are given. Go to class, ask questions, get help, and you'll get what you put in.
