Very linear professor. A pleasure to look at and as helpful as it comes. You will know what is expected of you right away and there are no curve balls. Highly recommended.
Great Professor! Very friendly straight to the point. I believe two/three exams. She gives you a review sheet and is EXACTLY the same as the actually test so mostly memorization. One or two VERY easy quizzes every two weeks or so like a map quiz or definition quiz. AND FInal paper where you need to make a museum visit. Easy and short.
One of the great John Jay professors. I did a right choice in choosing her. Simply, the environment in the class is what we, as a student, hope for.
The best professor...love her...
This prof is a really good one. She gives you all the information needed for your quiz, there are 7 but you only need 5.she offers and outline for her midterm and final (alot to study but she goes over it). She is very helpful and responds to every. Dont bother buying the book, she does a detailed powerpoint. There is 1 paper...not hard! Take her!!
Professor Moser is a very good lecturer. From day one everything is smooth sailing. I'm halfway through the semester and I'm doing great. Just pay attention, read the notes she puts blackboard, you'll do fine. She's pretty so that is definately a plus!
This class is super boring and it put me to sleep every time. The quizzes are easy, her exams are fair, she gives you everything that's on it. She gives a three page final paper on artifacts at the metropolitan museum which is easy. Just pay attention at her exam reviews and youll be fine.
She is ok professor.
Her class is boring. She gave 7 quizzes and drop the two lowest. One midterm and a final. If you find other professor for HIS 203 take him / her. After taking her class you want to get rid of history.
Her class is not an easy A, class is so boring and put you literally on sleep. She loves Roman history and so test questions are mostly on Roman and Greece history, quizzes are fine but midterm and final is hard hard.
I am surprise to read these comments, she is very nice and knows the topic, she is bright and she is at higher level of thinking. she is great! 7 quizzes, uses the 5 higher grades. Very clear on what goes for the test Always there to help and down to earth If you follow the class and read b4 test you will be fine. Very good professor and fun
She's really cool. She's easy to understand and yeah the class may be a little boring but it's an easy A. Definitely take her. She drops the 2 lowest of your 7 quiz scores. She's lenient and has an extensive knowledge of history. She's always willing to help you understand. She also looks like a petite version of Dita Von Teese without make-up.
She is extremely nice and knows what she is talking about. She makes the lessons extremely easy to understand. As long as you go to class and pay attention, even though it can get boring sometimes, you should definitely get an A. If you take her just make sure you don't plagiarize- its one of her pet peeves!
She is an excellent professor! you have do one paper 3-5 pages. 7 quizzes but she counts only 5 and lowest 2 drop and quizzes are very easy ( matching and one midterm and one finals ( multiple choice, slides identification)
The professor is really nice. She knows what she's talking about and likes to interact with students!! She literally gives out the answers of her test on the lectures!!! Great professor!!! Two thumbs up
she's a really good professor, her class is really easy as long as you pay attention to her lectures and study the material. i have taken two classes with her and would take her again if i could.
Professor moser is great. She gives 7 quizes through out the semester and drops 2 lowest ones. She give easy blackboard assignments and her tests are not super easy but she gives study guide for everything!!! So study and u will be ok. Overall she is great would take her again
Sweet professor, always an email away when you need help. Flexible and understanding if you ever need an extension on your assignment. She is extra strict about plagiarism, she will give your paper a 0 for it, so cite all your sources ! 7 quizzes, will drop the two lowest grades, 1 paper on the museum visit, midterm and final. 4 absences allowed.
She is a really nice professor. I took her class in the fall semester of 2014. I wish there were more professors like her. Pay attention in class and you should be fine. She really helps you with her study guides and she is there to answer any questions.
Currently have professor Moser for an online history class. Let me just say, she is very passionate and holds an abundant amount of information on the topics she teaches. Very easy going and helpful. Hands down fantastic professor, take her you will not regret it.
One of the best professors in JJ. She is passionate about her job. It makes history so easy and understandable. The way she organizes the lecture and explains history is so interesting. I always loved history but she made me love it more. She just puts things in an interesting prospective. If you pay attention during lecture you'll get an A.
Diana Moser is amazing! I def. recommend this class to everyone :D
Awesome class with an awesome professor. 5 minute quiz at the beginning of every class which is open note and open reading. 3 projects, including 1 paper but they are fun and easy.
Really good professor, always responds back asap. You learn a lot in this class and she always gives good feedback on your discussion post/projects. Requires you to go to the met and the TMONH. 3 projects not hard, quizzes on every weeks reading which are about 5 questions each which is annoying sometimes since theres a lot to read. overall good.
Great professor! Our final is OPEN NOTE. So kind and is easy to understand and doesn't make getting an A such a challenge
she's very caring and will work with you so that you pass.
Professor Moser is definitely NOT an easy A, you work for what you receive at the end of the semester, and there's no curving. I honestly had more work given from her than my 300 level course and I just took this class as an elective. I regret taking this class/professor, and would not advise anyone who is not a history enthusiast to take it.
She is great! I loved her because she gave me a lot of feedback on everything I submitted, and grades were given timely. She really cares about her students and will work with you if you need help or can't make a deadline. She uploads all readings necessary, so there is no textbook. However, you NEED to read everything for discussions and quizzes.
Overall, I had great time in the class I learned a lot. Prof. Moser gives a lot of information, but as long as you pay attention and read youll be fine. She is caring, and works with you. I had a problem with work and she more then helped me be able to stay in the class and do well.
She was great! I learned so much and was probably the best History prof I've ever had.
Lots of reading(s) but open-note quizzes are a blessing! Take good notes! Be respectful and show up. She's extremely nice, funny, caring, and relaxed. An A is very much possible for students and SHE makes it possible (not necessarily easy) for you to earn it. Definitely knows her material well! Very knowledgeable and good "teacher." Very fair.
Get ready to read and write A LOT, which is expected from an online class. I have taken quiet a few online courses over the last two years, and this one is no different. Read a chapter, watch a few videos, write a discussion board post, reply to another post +3 papers. As long as you read the material, and answer questions for DB you will do fine.
SO many chances to receive a good grade. No midterm just two projects and a take home final. Hw is only a comment or question on the readings which you don't even have to actually read.
2 projects, 1 take-home final and 10 quizzes(open note). Follow the instruction and do the work, easy A. Chances of extra credit also
It would be a shame to not do well in her class. Not because it's an easy A (which it isn't) but because it's an extremely possible A if you do everything right: take great notes for open-note quizzes, write decent papers (and submit ON TIME), do HW (create 1 discussion question- that's it) and engage with the material. She's very nice & smart.
All you need to do is have time to read, do discussion board question due at the end of the week, and respond to 1 other student's posts. Your answers for the discussion board has to be 500 words, with 200 words response 1 post you are assigned due on Tuesday. There are 3 prj. 2 you need to go to the museum, the last one is based on class readings.
Professor Moser is a sweetheart honestly. If you show up and READ, there is no way you can fail her class. There is 10 quizzes, all open notes and 2 projects and the final is a paper as well. Definitely would take her again!!!
Professor Moser is passionate about what she does and she is a great professor. She gives 2 projects, 10 quizzes and a final.
The class is 49% weekly discussion board posts & 51% Projects/Papers/Powerpoints (2-3 required visits to museums). No textbook is required--she posts all of the materials on BB. Every week you have to make 1 post (500 words) to BB and respond to 1 classmate (200 words). There are 3 projects & the final one has 4 options. Extra credit is offered.
I took her online and it wasn't bad at all. She gives extra credit. The readings are about 10-20 pgs but you have a week to get it done. HW is usually due on Sundays at 12a.m. Not bad being that it was an online class and most of the work can get done in 1 days. Take her she is pretty easy .
Prof Moser is amazing; genuinely cares about her students. Two projects (fun & interactive), 10 quizzes (open-book, drops two lowest grades), and a final.
Professor Moser is a great professor. She knows her material and can teach them in a very clear manner. She is respectful and caring towards her students. There are two projects and theyre simple and many quizzes but theyre simple as well.
This prof is so kind and caring. Her slides are mainly pictures and she doesn't really give actual notes which is annoying. There was 1 open note quiz every week and the lowest two grades get dropped. I don't like history but this was still an easy A for me. She's very laid back and really cares about her students.
She is a real sweetheart who is passionate about teaching, engages with the class alot during her lectures and gives a decent amount of work to do both in and outside of class. Would definitely take her again!
Professor Moser is an amazing teacher who is very knowledgeable and passionate about what she teaches. If you like history or looking for her an easy A, take her! She gives weekly quizzes which is an open notebook, 2 projects, and an essay final.
If you are somebody who likes writing take the class. If you hate writing long papers each week like me, this teacher is not for you. I dropped her class as soon as I saw all the hw we had.
Prof. Moser is one of the best at John Jay. She is passionate about history and her passion is conveyed through her lectures. She gives excellent feedback and it was the best history class I have taken. Be prepared for the amount of writing needed to do well in the class however. If you don't like writing, this is definitely not the class for you.
I really enjoyed taking this history class. The class basically consisted of showing up, listening to her lectures, and taking notes which were easy because she is not boring at all. Two projects, weekly open note quizzes, and the final exam were reasonably easy. Would take the class again.
Great online experience. She had weekly discussions that were engaging and straight forward. She also had extra credit and took down one of the lowest grades for one discussion board. Very informative class. Final was also a power point presentation in which you just uploaded for classmates to see. Just do the work and you will be fine. :)
I took a class with her over the winter semester. It's a lot of reading, 3 discussion posts (they are really long, mine were all over 2000 words), and a final project. She is really understanding and responds to emails fast. I recommend taking a class with her.
Professor Moser is a true gem. Her feedback make me feel like she truly cares. This class was asynchronous and we had a weekly discussion board and quiz along with 2 projects. All assignments were easy to complete, not to mention fun to do! I learned a lot in this class and I was never stressed while doing her assignments. She is AMAZING, take her!
I loved Professor Moser. Every Sunday a quiz was due along with a discussion board, quizzes are 5 questions short response and timed for 20 mins. The quizzes are not easy to just skim the reading as the readings are 11pgs-30+pgs. One midterm and final with 3 options both including visiting museums. She was very responsive and gives great feedback
Amazing professor!! theres a quiz and dB every week very easy as long as you read the material or have it on hand. Theres only 2 papers you have to write (4ish page long) for midterm and finals. She always responds to emails quickly and gives great feedback. You wont be disappointed by her!
Great Professor, do the readings and discussion boards ON TIME. 5 discussion boards and a final project visiting a museum or recreating an ancient technology. Took this as a Summer course and would 100% do it again. Easy A literally just do the work and the prompts straight forward
DO NOT AKE THIS CLASS!!! This is by far the harshest grader I have ever met. She will make you resubmit something 10,000 times and still not give you any credit. Her assignments and projects are as complicated as she is, MAD EXTRA!!!
she's a total sweetheart! just do the work, i promise it's not that hard. participate and pay attention. quizzes are open book, and she's very kind when grading them. if you slack and don't show effort, then it'll be a hard class. TAKE HER!!! i would take her again if i could
Great professor, I took her for an elective. Work is very clear and relatively easy. 10 open note quizzes, 15 image comparison discussion boards, & a midterm + final that you can recreate an ancient technology or go to museums. Multiple extra credit options. Very smart & kind professor, do your work on time and show up to class for an A. Take her!
quizzes and hw every week but the easiest ones ever, hw takes literally 5 minutes for the week, easyyyyy A, fun midterm and final, lots of extra credit TAKE HER
I actually took Professor Moser at NYU, not John Jay. She taught our first-year essay course. She's a great teacher and gives good feedback, but imo she's a bit harsh on grading. I was HS valedictorian, but I and almost everyone in the class got Bs on her assignments. That being said, I enjoyed her class and wouldn't've taken anyone else.
I took Professor Moser for a winter course. We were only graded on a few items but the lectures were thorough. Her grading was timely and she provided good feedback that'll help get you a better grade. Overall 10/10.
She was the nicest prof ever! The class consisted of us doing image comparisons for participation grades, and it is so easy to screenshot a picture & upload it to BB. Quizzes were open book & "midterms/finals" were going to a museum and creating a presentation. She made the class fun & you could miss 3 classes with no penalty, and drop a quiz grade
Professor moser is extremely kind her class is easy to pass. Her lectures are a bit boring but its an easy A.
Professor Moser is very nice, her class was easy to manage. We had 10 short quizzes, 10 image comparisons, and a midterm and final paper and presentation which were very laid back. I would definitely take her again, if you want a low stress class take her.
We were given a project to build something from ancient times using primitive tools.
I never rate professors on here but this professor was absolutely amazing. Her class was the easiest A I have ever taken. Only 4 DB's, 2 quizzes every week (so easy), and a final project where you can either make an ancient technology or go to a museum. Literally just do all that and you'll get an A. She's not a tough grader BUT you do have to read
Her class was very easy and she is willing to help. She always gives very fun lectures and fun assignments. It is very hard to fail her clas because she gives so much extra credit!
I don't know where are all those excellent reviews and ratings came from, but expect to read 100 pages per week of ancient technology and answer all the questions in writing. Be aware of all those excellent reviews; there is no such thing as an easy A in this class.
I have no idea how people can rate 5 stars so quickly or where it came home. Initially, took the class into thinking it would be fair, but it was the opposite. The deadline is set in stone and she is a tough grader. Do not take her if there are other professors available.
Among all the courses I took, Professor Moser is one of the few professors who give a ton of feedback, which tells you how much she cares about every student. There is so much writing, but she is there to read and give you feedback. I recommend her if you want to learn knowledge about ancient technology, not for expecting easy A type of students.
Class was interesting but very simple. The epitome of a 100 level course.
Very nice person, wants to see your best work and will give you really in-depth feedback. Weekly discussion boards with a quiz to accompany it in class, and a paper and presentation for both the midterm and final. Kind of busy work, but you will get a grade grade if you do the work, easy grader.
Great sense of humor that's how we got along well, she's far from boring and caring during midterm and final its was "arts & craft" projects and she brought in snacks for everyone, 6/8 quizzes she missed one an drops the lowest, she actually makes you want to learn and be in her class, she makes jokes about her drawings, there's no reason to fail.
Loved the class! She was kind and wanted the best for her students. Instead of the boring midterm, she assigned projects that were artistic and fun to do! I would definitely recommend this class.
Professor Moser is really fun. Everything is pretty straight forward. You MUST do the readings if you want to do well. She kept it interesting with the midterm and final. Choice of going to a museum + paper or make a project + paper. She encourages creativity and is a very fair grader
Professor Moser is the sweetest person ever. She tries to make the class fun and projects are fun recreations
Professor Moser is super sweet and very chill. Weekly open note quizzes, reading for every class, fun project and presentation for both the midterm and final. Gives extra credit opportunity and also drops lowest quiz score. Just Come to class and do your work. I loved this class, it was super chill. I would take her again if I could.
One of the best professors I have had so far at John Jay, very clear on grading, she provides the readings, the projects are fun and interesting
Genuinely the kindest and most down-to-earth professor I have ever had. The readings are so easy and you only need to ask ONE question for each (you only need to post a question for 10 readings). One midterm project and one final project, both fun and extremely easy. I didn't know how easy a class could be until I took this. HIGHLY recommend!!!!!
What a plesant professor! Super clear on what is expected and none of the assignments are difficult what so ever. The material is layed out in a way anyone can understand and the weekly readings are super short. 100% would take again.
This is the nicest Professor ever, she is passionate about the topic. Weekly quizzes but they're open notes, only two projects and that's it. Super lenient on grading, will give you credit if you tried your best. She is super nice as a person definitely take her!
Just take her, you won't regret it!
I didnt do her final and passed with a b- shows how easy this class is.
Professor Moser is so cute and so passionate in what she teaches. I took this class for a easy credit and got exactly that. Weekly quizzes that are all open notes, and two easy projects, although you had to present them. Super understanding.
