she is annoing and hard but not imposible.
Very funny. Her accent never fails to make the class laugh....but beware, her test are hard. No assigned homework or attendance. She also allows graphing calculators.
Very nice lady, sincerly cares about students welfare, difficult exams though. No homework turned in.

she is a mean teacher who seems to pick someone new to pick on everyday, she is hard to understand, and she doesnt like to explain things...avoid her and take ritchie
what she teaches in class is totally seperate from what is on the tests..i took her for linear algebra and almost the entire class failed her tests...she makes the easiest concepts very complicated...only take her if u already know the subject
Just imagine a hott Ms. Swan from MadTv...the accent will make the class worth it... She is an awesome teacher. Her tests are really hard, and you have a quiz every Thursday, but she dosnt take attendence or collect hw. she is alway willing to help...
She is a riot. Good teaching skills. Just dont get on her bad side or you might as well drop the course and become a teacher yourself.
kinda cute
worst prof... retaking the class for a higher grade (first prof gave me a C) she picked on me everyday and she was so screwy with her methods and rules for grading- i ended up with an F from her... HOW!!? went to calc 3 anyway and did well despite her
She gives a consistent amount of HW, which is collected (expect 3-4 hours a week on HW). The tests are tricky and the quizes are trickier. She doesn't take well to humor from her students. Not much patience for people who don't get it.
i think she understands the material, but has no interest in teaching it. if you ask a stupid question, you'll get an embarrassing "what the hell" from her...makes you feel dumb, so you stop asking questions...go teach something else...YOU'RE M
I took her for Calculus (25A & B) and she was a good teacher, but definitely hard. Homework is assigned but you don't turn it in. You have to get used to the way she jokes. She picks on you if she likes you, and she ignores you if she doesn't like you.
She is a great teacher. If anything, she is too tolerant of students making stupid jokes and comments. She knows the subject perfectly, and will help you with anything, regardles of whether she likes you. I wish she were teaching the next class in the M25 Calculus series. Don't be afraid of her.
she was HORRIBLE! she was othelpful nor di she care if you were doing well...and she cannot speak english very well and he aways threatens to kick your @#%! horrible class...i failed! take be rode instead!

kinda hard to understand
Awsome teacher. Most can be intimidated by her sence of humor, but she tries her hardest to understand you and to make sure you understand the material. She re-enforces what she writes on the board making things even clearer. She's perky, fun, and funny. She is challenging, but not hard.
terrible teacher. speaks in broken english and gets mad when students ask questions.
It's sad reading these posts below. Bitter students that couldn't cut it. This teacher is great (I don't have complaints about her english). Her quizes are easy; 1 problem each for Christ's sake! Her tests are very reasonable and she gives partial credit. & she hands out extra credit opportunities.
Kool, teacher. passed with an A in her class. If you do the homework. ask her on stuff you don't understand. you will pass. She is funny, and really hot.
Excellent, Excellent, EXCELLENT teacher. I bought a math book that you cannot even tell has been used except for I dropped it on the floor and the edges are bent!!! Forget the book, she will clearly and with humor lead you to complete knowledge. As for her english, it is perfect.
She is a very good teacher. She really cares for her students, and knows the subject well. I wouldnt say she is hard to understand. Overall, if you can take her, do take her.
I would take her again if she is going to teach 25B or C. Love her teaching style. She makes math easy to understand, and not boring. You need a blue book for tests. Her tests neither hard nor easy. I think questions are fair because she covers everything in class. AND LOTS of extra credits!!! so A is not hard to get.
Very good teacher. By far the best math teacher I have had so far. She explains everything well and her tests are fair. She actually has a really good sense of humor if you realize she is being sarcastic. O yea, she pronounces calculator as Kakalator, and calculus as kakalis. So damn funny, take her
Hot,hot, hot!! Love her teaching style.. you will definitely like Math after taking her class!! I recommend you to take this class if you appreciate jokes. What the other people think she speaks broken Engl?u know it's Math class and you don't need to worry about her Engl as long as you understand well what she's lecturing you.
She is a horrible teacher. She is mean and could care less about you...except when she is making fun of you in front of the entire class. DON'T TAKE HER CLASS!!!
Great teacher... Very clear and easy...
HOT + Great professor! Hate school, but because of her I love it. :-D
She's wonderful, except for calculus, she doesnt allow calculators, but still, she doesn't bore the class, shes funny, nice and helpful.
She is a great teacher. I love her style even though she can't speak english well. Too bad she doesn't teach calculus anymore.
She can't speak english. She has some strange rules. does not care if you pass of fail. You will be lucky if she know your name by the end of the semester.
I Love Mrs. Nguyen! I wish she was still teaching Calculus. I would be taking her right now. If you have a chance, take her class. She's hilarious. Her teaching methods are fun and effective. And in case you were thinking of taking Enriquiez, don't. He is a horrible teacher. He doesn't know the material and makes it hard to learn
She is a great teacher most people cannot look past at the fact that her english is not as great as for people that were born here. English is her second language people! Most of you can't even pass Spanish I, but that aside, her intent is for you to succeed and like what you are doing at the same time, why put down a person like that? Both Thumbs up for Ms. Nguyen!
shes funny and i like her style yes and shes a GREAT explainer, BETTER THAN SHACK OMGOSH HE SUCKS. anyways she funny xcept if she doesnt like u she doesnt like you and yea that sucks.
Diane is great! She helped me overcome my math anxiety and end up with an A in Algebra. She is patient with those who are there to learn but will tolerate smartasses. She is by far the best professor I have encountered at Moorpark. She really takes her job serious.
Best teacher ever! She's fun, smart, and helpful. She's always cracking jokes during class making math enjoyable. Other teachers like Enriquez make mathematics dry and uninteresting(hint: don't take him!). Mrs. Nguyen rocks! I wish she was still teaching calculus
Great teacher, even though her test are extremly difficult, she really helps you understand the subject
i agree that she's funny- but she seemed to enjoy when ppl did poorly. i passed calc 2 with a C but enrolled in her class to try to get a better grade. honestly tried to learn and am a good student but she laughed when i went to her with problems and belittled me. i had a B going into the final and afterward i had an F. seems she just hated me
She is a great teacher. I suck at math but she was able to make things easier 4 me. Only problem is she doesn't allow calculators. So be careful with her. All around she was funny, and taught you what you need to know, what else can you expect.
good teacher
She's a great teacher! She's funny, but more importantly she's clear and won't move on if you don't understand and if you ask her. If you don't understand and you don't say anything you won't get anywhere.
TAKE HER CLAS!!!! She is an amazing teacher!!! Funny, helpful, and nice. The class is kind of difficult, but it's the material that is hard. She gives extra credit and there are 5 point quizes everyday but they arent very difficult.
shes a really great teacher. she makes the class fun and interesting...she always trys to help the students that are struggling. she's very easy to understand and gives fair grades. i love her s0o much that im taking her next math class.
she is the best math teacher i have ever had. she cares about her students and is really funny and easy to talk to. you must have the text to be successful in her class and ask questions when you're confused. make sure to make it to class 80% of the time to recieve a passing grade! and dont be annoying or a know it all cause she'll call you on it!
Best math teacher!!!!! take her!! she is very helpfull, funny and cares about her students.
She is so adorable, funny, and nice. I recommend her if you want to learn. Her tests can be hard, but she is very approachable. LOVE HER!!!!!!!
She has good energy, but her tests are hard and she gets defensive about it. Her accent is not as bad as people say, and her class is only hard if you're trying to get an "A".
Amazing professor! Cares A LOT about her students and will go out of her way to make sure that everyone in the class understands the material. Her tests are about 8-10 questions and you are allowed to use your calculators in class and on the tests.Usually about 2 questions on the test are really hard and the rest, not too bad. overall, shes awesome
If her class is open, take it. Although she's not an easy A you'll definatly learn and she can explains a concept in a couple different ways. I came into her class a couple weeks late and failed the first test but I ended up with an A in the class since she drops a test. Overall she's a fair grader and a good teacher.
Mrs. Nguyen is one of the best teachers I have ever had. She is extremely helpful and clear. She is always full of energy which makes class very enjoyable. She knows what she's doing and rarely makes a mistake. An excellent teacher and a very enjoyable class. She teaches you concepts rather than how to push buttons on a calculator! Great Teacher!
Great teacher, really wants to try and help you. Class is CRAZY FUN. Her accent is not bad at all and after a couple of days I didn't even notice it. Mrs. Nguyen (said "Win") is an extremely fun loving person!
Awesome teacher! a hard class, but honestly if you practice then even an A isnt that hard. my first test i got a C but then did practice problems for the other 2 and got high A's. she is soo helpful and u can drop ur lowest and double count the final!! i got an A and i wouldnt say its easy, but its possible! take her if shes available!! :)
shes really nice. Her class is pretty easy. It is math so if your not there you will get lost. I took her for elementary algebra and got an A and took her for intermediate algebra and got a B. As long as you take notes and pay attention you will do well. Tests are not hard either.
I took her last for both CAlc 25AH and B, and trust me on this she is the best prof in campus for calculus. Dont remember much for 25Ah as i was doping then(not nemore),got an A though. Howewer For 25B, when my head was straight,i know tht teaching is her passion and she would also make it interesting and fun, however I got a B, BUT SHE ROCKS! not
the best teacher i ever had! Crazy fun at class and she will help u all the time! with her help i got an A!
This is a great professor! You can tell she really wants you to do well. She sets up reviews on topics the class is most struggling in and tries to make you understand the concepts. Calculus is a hard subject but she makes it enjoyable
AVOID AT ALL COSTS. This teacher is unbelievably demanding and difficult. Math is my thing, and I even got an A in Calc A. Got a D in Ms. Nguyen's class... Tests are IMPOSSIBLE and DO not reflect material learned in class...
Mrs. Nguyen is a great teacher! Her teaching skills were very easy for me to understand - I thought that her class would be hard because she doesnt let you use calculators, but I did just fine without it!She has a great personality and really knows how to make class fun!
Mrs. Nguyen is the best math teacher I have ever had. She makes class extremely fun!! She explains everything very well and she is very approachable. Just do your homework and ask questions. I would take another class with this teacher!!!
This teacher is very good. She is tough but in the end if you do your work it pays off. Knows the material and good at teaching. She is funny too which makes the class a little easier to endure. I reccomend this teacher to people who need to know the material for their major, but not for people who are looking for an easy A.
Ms Nguyen is one crazy teacher...but in a good way!!! She cracks jokes in class, screams randomly, but in the end she really makes sure you will be able to pass her test. She so crazy that in class i would video tape her with my cell phone and show all my friends. Awesome teacher!!!!
Do not take her! She is a funny teacher, but that is it! Her tests are extremely hard! Take it from me, I took Schaak also and he is much more fair on his tests! Her tests are not reflective of the hw problems. AVOID THIS CRAZY TEACHER! You better be an excellent calculus student if you want to pass with an A or B in this class!!!
I took both 25A and B with her and man they were awesome! she is not easy, but wants to help and i got an A in both her classes. People who say its impossible to get an A, puhleez! You just gotta do hw problems and google tutorials, use caclchat, they all help! I'd say take her.
Calc 25A is NOT an easy class. shes an amazing teacher very clear but you have to work for an A. her exams are DIFFICULT, BUT she will teach you, DO THE HOMEWORK, i suck at math but i did the homework she assigned and got an A, take the class if you're gonna try, attendance is a must!
Tough teacher, but if you can make it out of this class with a good grade, you are ready for 25B. I did all of the homework and I studied before tests, and I had no problem getting an A and that's the only way to get an A in this class. The tests are extremely difficult though, and there probably isn't a tougher Calc teacher at Moorpark.
Greatest math professor Ive ever had at MC. Cares a lot about her students, very understanding, great professor overall. Tough class, do ALL the homework, study hard and you will get the grade you deserve. Highly recommended for 25B!
She really does care about her students! Yes her tests are very hard but all that means is you HAVE to study and do the homework. Plus, once I started using office hours my grade jumped up 10% in her class.
You know there is instructor issue when the majority of the class fails a test. Tests DO NOT reflect assigned work so be sure to INSIST she gives you harder problems to use as homework BEFORE the test! SERIOUSLY! Do that and you will be fine.
Took her summer school class, best math teacher I've ever had! She's sweet, funny, and actually makes sure people understand what she has taught. Do the homework, go to class, and you'll easily get an A. Loved her!
She is the best math teacher on the campus. She teaches at a University level with very challenging tests. Homework was not graded but do it because some problems came straight from it. I learned more about math from her than any teachers i've had combined
Great teacher! Knows the material incredibly well and does an excellent job teaching... do your homework and study and you will be fine!
I have kind of a unique situation. I got a 5 on the AP calc test and took her summer course as a refresher. Just a heads up, the last test we took, we had like 3 a's, 4 b's, 10 c's, 9 d's, and 10 f's. I never did homework but got a B on all the tests overall. Tests are difficult, and are all challenging problems. Questions are not straight forward.
She is the best teacher at moorpark college. Honostly she knows the material and helps you understand everything. She is extremely helpful. Will not go any further if someone doesnt understand. Strongly recommended. Tests are super easy just do the hws and attend class you will get A+. Attend class ull easily get an A.
Very hard teacher but also does a very good job explaining things. Homework was never graded but DO IT! Make sure you ask her to give hard problems in class because those are similar to the ones on tests. Loved her humor.
Great teacher. She explains things really well and will always go back and explain again if you need help. Her tests are challenging but fair. Do the homework and you will do well her class. She is also really funny, always cracking jokes and trying to keep the atmosphere in class relaxed. Take her!
Great Teacher! i love her! just make sure to pronounce her name Mrs.Win not Nguyen. she says that is how it is pronounced
Absolutely love this teacher, she is a great teacher, cares for her students, she's supper clear explaining the subject. Test are hard, but if you study and do the homework you'll do fine. I have had her for Int Algebra, Pre-Calculus and Calculus. I’m taking her in the fall for Cal M25N. TAKE HER!!!! She is he best teacher in Moorpark College.
She is by far the best math teacher I have ever had, I've always struggled with math, I actually got an A in hers. She takes time to explain if you don't understand, goes slow but not too slow. Do all the homework!
Took her for intermediate algebra and pre-calculas and i thought she was the best! she's funny and a great teacher! ask as many times as you want she'll do it over every time. test can be hard if you don't do any hw or study int alg i got an A with no book & pre calc i got a C but i barely studied so that was all my fault but really recommend her!
Amazing teacher. Don't miss class because she explains everything so well. She is nice and funny and wants her students to do well.
I took this class during her summer session. If I got a away with getting a B, and was going through chemo AND have cancer than you have no excuse to do well too. Extremely helpful, Super nice. I sat in the back really quiet, listened and took thorough notes. Hard if you don't study, Difficult if you miss a class. Funny & keeps you interested!
Love this professor. Math has always been tough for me but she knows how to explain the material and I look forward to going to her class. She has a great since of humor. I recommend you do homework and take good notes. The class was easy because I did both. The homework she assigns is necessary and it helps.
Class is really hard!! Tests are impossible. Many people failed but she didn't curve. I have a 4.0 and did exceptionally well in 25A, but this class was a killer. I went to her office hrs for help and she acted like I was wasting her time. Lecture is packed with material and she gives easy examples in class and then the test questions are terrible!
good teacher hard class but she is willing to help you out during office hours quiz everyday and hw but isnt mandatory tests are hard but if you do the hw and study guide you should be fine you really have to pay attention if you want a good grade but she is a good teacher!
Love this professor. She is fair when it comes to grading and I can honestly say you get the grade that you deserve. DO HOMEWORK it will help with test, this is not a class to take for granted. Attendance is not mandatory but like any math class if you do not show up you will not get it. One of the best professors at Moorpark College.
Nguyen is a great teacher. She is more then welcome when it comes to questions. In order to get an A in this class do the homework. Nguyen cares for her students and she's more than helpful. Go to her office hours if you can for extra questions.
She was a very sweet professor, however i really struggled in the class. The homework does not reflect the test. Shes's one of those teachers who purposely tries to trick you on the tests. If you are a bad test taker DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS. I felt like she was annoyed whenever I asked for help
I took her during summer for pre calculus. She makes sure to help students understand material that is relevant to calculus. She is great at keeping the class alive and urges student to participate. If you need to take pre calc and calc I would highly recommend the Professor!!
Prof. Nguyen is for sure the best math teacher at Moorpark. She not only is fair with the tests but drops a test and lowers her grading scale. If you do the homework and pay attention in class you will be successful in her class. If you need help or don't understand a concept she will slow down or try different methods to make sure you get it.
Professor Nguyen was one of the best math teachers I have ever had. She makes sure all of the students understand the subject matter, and ensures that we will be well prepared for calc. She is also fun and has a great personality which makes going to class interesting. Drops the lowest test, gives good reviews prior to exam.
She is a very competent professor. She is passionate with a good sense of humor and wants her students to succeed in her class. Despite the fast pace of the course since I took it during summer, it was pretty manageable, and Diana was really understanding when it comes to students' needs. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed her class!
In my opinion, she is a fantastic teacher. I failed my first semester of this class, and with this teacher I have an A. Doing homework is key, but she wants to help her students. She tries to make the class as enjoyable as a math class can be too. I recommend her 100% if you are willing to put in effort!!
All around great teacher. Willing to explain anything she goes over. Homework is not counted, only 4 tests, 10 quizzes, and a final count toward your grade. This being said her tests were very difficult, but doable. Received a B. I recommend her over many other teachers, even though her tests are difficult.
one of the worst proffessors i have had at moorpark. she never stays on topic and is always rushing to finish with lecture. goes over one or two problems and expects you to do the homework. seems annoyed when asked too many questions. often says things like,'its not that hard'. i felt dumb. i passed because i taught myself. save yourself.
She is by far one of the BEST math teachers at Moorpark! I am fearless when it comes to numbers now because of her! I finished with a "B" and I never ever thought I'd get a grade like that in a math class. She is God's Gift to Mathematics at Moorpark. TAKE HER!
I believe she is the best teacher by far I've ever had. she was very helpful to me when I asked so many questions. Make sure to do the homework. I will say that her definition of a easy test isn't sometimes easy to the students. I had to study a lot. I went to her office hours all the time. She never got annoyed with me.
Well, she is definitely going to be one of the most memorable professors I'll ever have. Lectures are beyond entertaining, and I took her for 20A & 20B. That being said, tests are really hard and I've figured out she isn't the best at teaching the subject. I would only recommend her if you have a clear foundation in math.
Diana Nguyen is the most entertaining and animated math teacher I have ever had! She makes such a boring and dry subject, interesting and tolerable. Her lectures make it fairly easy to understand the material. Attendance is absolutely necessary since there is A LOT of note taking. Her tests are pretty difficult, but not impossible.
Professor Nguyen is one of my favorite math professors. She makes attending class fun! Her exams are hard, but as long as if you do your homework, ask questions and understand the material, you are going to be okay. Calc3 is a hard class to teach, but she does her best at it. She is fair and gives out extra credit too! Go to her office hours!
Tests are harder than any homework or lecture problems you'll see. This class is not for the weak minded. You will spend hours and hours studying just to pass. Very few get a's. She's very helpful and a good teacher, but good luck on the tests. They are BEYOND HARD. If you study they are semi doable
Amazing teacher! She isn't necessarily easy but she is always there when you need extra help. Absolute sweetheart and she provides extra credit after every test. Best calculus teacher I've had!
She was great at teaching during lectures but then i get to the test and I was lost. She makes her lectures easy and her tests super hard. If you don't keep up with the hw you will not pass
AMAZING. Her tests are exactly what's on the notes & study guides. She is very specific, answers all your questions and doesn't make you feel stupid! This class does require work. She is lenient with the online homework but you have to do it, take notes, and study to pass without a doubt. If you want to take M25A take her bc she will prepare you!
She is for people who do not have a clear understanding with math concepts. She's a math goddess! Her lectures are really organized and detailed. You have to show up in order to get the necessary information. Her tests are really hard and you definitely have to put extra effort in studying, do the HW, the HW problems are similar to the test.
Diana is so nice and her lectures are really clear. Im so lucky to have been in her class because she really knows how to teach well. Her tests are hard because she chooses the toughest homework problems in the book but if you do a lot of practice problems, its pretty easy to get an A. She always tries to laugh and make the class fun!
Diana is funny and keeps class interesting. However, you have to teach yourself how to do most of the homework. Tests are ridiculously hard, there is very little extra credit and she does not grade homework. Tests averages are usually an F. If you struggle with math or testing DO NOT take this class.
Diana is one of the hardest math teachers I've taken at Moorpark. Tests are impossible and do not reflect course material. Her lectures do not teach you how to do most of the homework. When you ask her questions or go to her office hours, she treats you as more of a nuisance. She has irrational expectations. Would not recommend to anyone.
This is my second class with her, & I plan to take her for two more classes next year. She is upbeat and keeps class interesting, & she is very good at teaching the material. She is very willing to help. Tests are tough, but some of the questions are often from the hw. She also gives you a good idea of what to study. Fair grader w partial credit
Professor Nguyen is bright, funny and an excellent teacher. She loves math and the time flies because of her passion and humor. Keep up with the homework and then you will know which questions to ask when you return to class. Tests are challenging but problems are similar to the homework questions. If you like Math, you'll love her.
Diana is extremely funny and her grading scale rocks! Expect weekly quizzes and 3 test only + final. I really enjoyed her class, but unfortunately had a hard time and got a D, which means i didn't pass. But I retook it and got a B bc i really learned in her class just wish I would've passed :
Ms. Nguyen is, hands down, the best math professor I have ever had. I just graduated from UC Berkeley with a BS in chemistry and couldn't have passes the upper division courses requiring applied math without her. She doesn't just explain HOW to do something, she explains WHY you're doing it and always explains the fundamentals behind the theory.
She is by far one of the best professors that I've had. She's hilarious and makes class very interesting. Her class is quite difficult and you have to really work for your grade. So study hard, do the hw and ask tons of questions. Despite how challenging you hear she is, you'll learn a lot and will be grateful to have had such an amazing professor.
Best math teacher I have ever had!! She is very clear in her notes and is hilarious which makes the class interesting. If you do the homework, you should be able to do well in the class. Definitely take her!! You will love Calculus after this class!
Diana is amazing at her job. She is funny, loud and very into what she does. I took a class with her and i never found her classes boring. She interacted with the class and was always there when I needed help. the best part was her humor as well. expect to do typical math stuff (homework, tests, quizzes) she is fast past so don't skip class.
One of the best Math Teachers I have had to date. A lot of people dropped out but if you come to class, do the homework your going to pass! Ask questions if you do not understand something she explains things in great detail. Excellent teacher and highly recommend. Can't wait for next Semester! Wish I could take her for all my Math courses.
Bad at math? DO NOT take her. She made me and my friend feel pretty stupid when we asked questions. She told multiple ppl in class that she didn't have time to explain stuff to us and that we should consider dropping and taking the math before Mo1. It definitely didn't feel like beginners math to me. If you are bad at math take david weinstein.
Class is easy until about the 4th week. she moves very fast and does not really make sure you understand the actual topic just the equations. If you dont have a solid algebra foundation do not take this class. Test can be very hard and complex problems. be aware.
Really great class. Her lectures are very clear and easy to comprehend.
I LOVE PROFESSOR NGUYEN!!!! She is very nice and she genuinely cares about her students. She made me feel welcome in her office hours and was willing to help. But be warned, she is as sharp as a toothpick. Don't complain in class, she HATES it. Tests are pretty difficult, but FAIR. If you want to really learn something, then TAKE HER CLASS!
She is really a great professor, if you don't understand something, just go to her office hours. She always makes time for her students. Calculus is a hard class, so don't get discouraged, but she really is a great teacher. You probably won't make an A, unless if you've studied Calc before. Her tests come straight from the notes/homework. She helps
Professor Nguyen cares about her students and does her best to make sure they grasp what she's teaching. She gives out a moderate amount of homework and has a one-problem quiz each week. Her tests can be tough, especially if you struggle with math (I do). She is very funny and personable.
Amazing professor! Far better then my previous teacher who was horrible at doing her job. I will do everything in my power to take her for all my math classes! She cares about us, helps us to not fail, is very easy to understand, and very interesting to listen to during lectures. A+ teacher!
Through my experience with precalc, she is one of the best teachers to have. although, it is not easy, if you show up and take notes and listen to what shes saying you'll get a hang of it. best person to learn trig with.
The first half of the class is spent answering questions from the odd hw problems she assigns (which she doesnt even collect). Lectures are short, talks about a concept and does 1 to 2 examples then moves on. will occasionally do some classwork if time allows. Provides no feedback on test. just marks it as wrong or deducts points.
Prepare to work in this class. Diana is a good teacher but is extremely strict, but fair. Her tests are difficult but your knowledge of the material will be greater than other teacher's students. Getting a B is doable, but an A is quite difficult.
Before taking her algebra class I hated math! she is a phenomenal teacher. if you show up to class everyday and do all the homework that she assigns you will not struggle. I would definitely take her again!
From what I can tell, she is one of the better math professors at Moorpark. After my down right terrible experience with one professor last year, she was really refreshing to take.
Considering the difficulty of the content covered in M25B, the professor was responsive to questions and concerns and clear about what we were to be tested on (which I greatly appreciated). Weekly quizzes and some extra credit opportunities are given. Overall, a difficult but rewarding class if you are willing to work for your grade.
This proof does not explain well. She lectures very fast, does not stay on any one concept for too long even when things get difficult. You will often hear her say "I'm not going to spend a lot of time on this." If you don't get it right away, she tells you to drop. Then wonders why many of her students don't pass. Bad at math? Take someone else!
Prof. Nguyen knows the material very well and is a really good teacher overall, but her tests are CHALLENGING to say the least. You have to spend a lot of time preparing and HW is a must to do. I would take her again if her tests weren't as tough, they single-handedly brought my grades down, I had an A in HW.
Wonderful professor, but depends what you're looking for. If want an A and to not work too hard, DO NOT TAKE HER. If you want to actually understand the material and know what you're doing, are willing to put in the time for Homework/Studying, and come to class everyday, she's your gal! Definitely taking her again next semester.
Loved her!! I suck at math and passed her class w a high grade. Very smart & wants you to learn, she will pass you if she see's you are actually trying, tests can be tough even though you know what to expect. Believes in group work. She is also so cute and hilarious i wish i could take her class again!
Her class is hard. You have to do a lot of outside work in order to pass. She makes you feel dumb if you ask a question she thinks you should already know. Her notes are messy and confusing. She can be nice though. You have to really work for that A, or even a B. Exams are extremely difficult and harder than what we cover in class.
Not worth it, no hw question which is your study guide will help with quizs or exams. Doesn't offer real help with passing exams. Avoid at all cost for cal 1-3 or precal for that matter. Also ask students who have taken her, her rating here is to high. You can thank me later.
doesnt collect hw. spends half the lecture going over the hw. Therefore lessons on new material are rushed and a general understanding is provided instead. You have to read the book to get the little details. hw quiz every week. -tests were hard and the questions she gets from other materials. Skips a lot of steps in her solutions
I took her for Calc one and three, it was a great time with her, though I felt like she was a "little" too nice to our Calc three class compared to before. None the less she is pretty hard and from I seen from DE she really pulls out the craziest problems. If you want to test your knowledge take her.
She really wants to try to be a good teacher but fails to do so. I did however like her notes, but her tests were crazy. You have to have prior knowledge, only have calc as your hard class, and have no social life or work to pass her. She expects a lot but is a great person. But then again, you are there to pass a class, not make friends.
By far the worst professor I've ever had. I understand the material and do fantastic on the homework (and I do complete ALL of it), I've still managed to fail 2 of 3 tests. This is coming from a student w/ a 3.96 GPA about to transfer to UC... Her tests do not reflect HW nor review, and her grading is unfair. Just about everyone has a D or F. AVOID
BEWARE!!! Don't get me wrong shes sweet, but a horrible teacher. She wants everyone to fail and does not care. He tests are so difficult and nothing like what she teaches or gives for HW. I've passes all my math courses with A's until I got her class. No credit for HW, barely any Extra Credit, and makes you feel stupid when you ask for help.
This professor is very funny, and makes the whole class die of laughter. However, this class is difficult, then again most Calc A classes are, but avoid this professor, her test are so tough. They don't reflect the homework assigned. I go over each problem assigned and more, and still have gotten below a C on almost every exam. AVOID
have to stay here 3 years now instead of 3 years because of how difficult her class is... going to fail
Funny and quick-witted without being sarcastic. She explains the material well and cares about her students understanding it. There's a quiz every week and homework (not graded) is needed to understand the lectures. Some problems are recycled into the tests. Honestly if you are failing, you did not have a good foundation in Pre-Calculus.
Great professor if you take her class you will learn the material. Calculus is not a expectator subject time needs to dedicated doing homework. She is really funny and a great teacher really knows her stuff. If you want to learn take her class. I am looking forward to taking DE with her.
This class is extremely difficult, as you would probably expect a calculus class to be. She does a fantastic job of going over the material and her expectations are very clear. She may not be the easiest teacher, but you will definitely learn a lot by taking her class.
Hard grader. My second time taking the course, showed up every class, did all the hw, studied, and I had to drop again... Her class is laid out nicely and she has a good teaching style but her tests were hard and ruined me. Take her if you already know calc, have had her before, and/or if you have a lot of free time to study.
A truly great professor. She is fun loving and friendly and always wants you to do well. I would definitely take this class again.
Definitely a great professor in her lectures, but I believe she doesn't teach well enough to the point where you will do well on a test. I put countless hour along with my peers and they wouldn't do well. A good majority dropped the class by the end of the semester. She is right about having a good trig professor but she is to blame as well.
She is a really nice professor with a great personality, she teaches great and you will get a lot out of it, but warning her test are extremely difficult, a good majority of the class dropped so that tells you right there. If here test were a little easier I would take her again.
I had a strong foundation in Pre-cal and Trig and I still did not do well. I did the homework everyday, but her test were difficult. We fell behind a lot, her class work does not reflect what is on test and she will answer the questions that you have but it makes you feel under prepared. Please don't take her!!!
honestly loved her. I suck at math and she was so clear and helpful really wants you to pass. Tests are tough but possible, wish i could take her again!
Worst Prof ever. Showed up and did all the hw and still failed every test. She puts questions on the tests that are unlike anything youve ever seen before and expects you to figure it out. ridiculous. DO NOT TAKE HER UNLESS YOU WANT YOUR GPA TO SUFFER!!
Honestly only recommended for Calc 1 and above. Diana is hilarious and a great teacher. She's perfect for students that are interested in math but don't want a ridiculously hard professor like Rubinstein, though some like the challenge. I enjoyed Diana's class so much I'm taking her again for Calc 3.
Diana is sweet and funny. She is also very challenging I had her for multi variable calculus and it was not easy. I would say take her if you enjoy a challenge, but shes not for those wanting an "easy A." She's tough but fair.
Tests are your entire grade and are extremely difficult (3 hours and many students always went over time limit). Not that we had never seen the material before, but that it was 3 hours of challenging problems one after the other. She does "offer" extra credit on every test and sometimes during class though. Overall okay prof. At least she's funny.
Attendence definitely matters. Don't skip class. Take notes and study again before every day you sleep if you can. Do homework, but it is not enough. You must understand each concept, not just knowing what the steps are. She likes to derive theories for students, though. On the test, understand each problem and improvise. That's all I can say.
Not a tough grader, but exams are kind of tough. 5pts of EC per exam, and a 10pt EC assignment. She doesn't use Canvas so the text book and your notes are the only things to study from. She also gives practice problems a few days before each exam. Final replaces lowest exam score. Just make sure you know how to solve 100% of everything she assigns.
Grades are 100% exams and few extra credit assignments. Worst teaching philosophy Ive seen. Expects you to think critically while she herself cannot bridge the gap between solving simple arithmetic & developing complex thought to solve problems. Treats her students like this class is their entire life, while simultaneously lacks effort in teaching
Easily worst professor I have encountered. Does not care about students and does not lecture on topics in enough depth to pass her tests. Lectures are shallow, exams are impossible. No quizzes, whole grade based on tests which again are impossible. She blames low averages on students studying skills rather than re-evaluating herself. DO NOT TAKE.
Diana is a very funny professor and can make class fun, however, the difference between the material she teaches and the material she tests on is ridiculous. Her tests are way to difficult for a lower division calculus course, and her expectations for second semester calculus students are astronomical. The drop rate for my class was probably 80-90%
Diana is the worst math teacher I have ever had. Your whole grade is tests and quizzes(which you have every Monday). She encourages students to ask questions but when they do she treats them like they're stupid. She acts like she cares but doesn't help you at all. If you're apart of access she won't be very helpful to you at all.
One of the worst professors Ive ever encountered. Terrible teacher, makes you feel dumb for asking questions. Impossible grader, loves to take points off for little things. An absolute disaster of a class. Makes things even harder for her students who are not doing good in her class. Simply do not understand her logic. Simple HW, impossible Exams
A very caring and funny professor. Her lectures are simple and a lot of notes will be taken. But her exams are very difficult. The test dives deeply into the meaning of the material. Her lectures dont, so you are expected to bridge the gap. Most of the students in my class dropped out.
Hardest math class ever taken. Got D's on the first 3 of 4 exams. She allowed us to retake the first exam, and averaged the retake score with the original. Final exam score also replaces lowest exam score. I did well enough on the retake, and the final to get a B average in the class. Surprisingly, I found the final to be the easiest exam.
Not a good professor cuz it doesnt seem like she knows what shes doing at times. Weird grader and not the best at explaining things. Tries to be funny.
Took Professor Nguyen my second semester of college for M25B, she is very straight forward at the beginning of the semester and tells you that she is more difficult than any other instructor. 80% of students who failed her courses didn't have good study habits. I later took her for M25C and Linear Algebra. She is also a great mentor outside class.
Ms. Nguyen is an amazing math teacher. She makes sure that her students understand the material before she moves on. If you do the homework and show up it is basically an A or B. I loved her class and she was always excited to teach!
Terrible professor. Doesn't know what she is teaching which makes it hard for us to understand her lecture. Very tough grader. Her tests are not even close to her lecture or the homework she doesn't even grade. I don't recommend taking a class with her.
She's a great teacher, however she has a specific teaching style. A lot of people in my class had to drop her because they just didn't understand her methods. I loved learning from her and the class offers a tutor which was very helpful. The grading scale is curved and not weighted. She sincerely wants everyone to pass and will offer what she can.
This class had over half drop before the final and another 1/4 failed. In order to get an A on her tests you need both extensive knowledge of the subject and good critical thinking. Her tests are both knowledge and IQ tests. She grades the class as if it is a grad school course. Near impossible to get an A.
Tests are extremely brutal, you need to know the ins and outs of the subject to get an A
I am in her class about to take the final... I have never ever had such an amazing teacher she actaully makes the class enjoyable and she will take as much time as you need to make sure you succeed in her class!! I am definitely taking her classes from now on!!
Get ready to teach yourself because she doesnt like teaching. She doesnt like students. Will talk down to you and only likes it when students make her look good, so you will have to learn on your own. Does not like questions and will actually tell people thats a bad question.
hardest teacher ive ever had.
Very bad professor. She claims that she is preparing you to transfer but makes the level of difficulty too difficult which you won't understand the material. I highly suggest you avoid her at all costs. You won't pass the class unless you ready to learn the material yourself. TRUST ME. You will regret it
By far the worst teacher I have taken throughout my math career. I was on the waitlist and the first day of class she said she wouldn't accept any waitlist students since she says she doesn't get paid enough. She wasn't afraid to admit that she drinks vodka while grading our tests, and came to class everyday smelling of cigarettes. DO NOT TAKE
Worst professor I have ever taken, I failed my second exam - ridiculously harder than the material taught in class or the homework assigned - and went up to her to ask for any other resources I could use, all she did was tell me to do the homework, when I told her I had already done that, she told me to do it again, shrugged and left.
Not for you if you're looking for easy. Hardest math class I've ever taken, hands down, but VERY HIGH QUALITY. It's tough, you'll work, her exams are BRUTAL but you'll learn a ton and she gives you all the necessary tools to do so. Great teacher and caring, just very high standards. If you're in it to actually learn, I highly recommend her.
I took it online over the summer, I only saw her the first day in orientation so I can't tell you how she is as a person. It used Knewton which had a lot of homework but also freedom, so how to tackle the class was left up to you, great thing was you can use software like Desmos to help you. It was probably 15-20 hours of work per week.
I had her for the bridge to calculus class. I was totally dreading this class because it's 8 hours/lecture over the course of 2 days on precalc. However, she has a very engaging, winning personality that kept my interest. The only calc class she teachers is calc 3 - I kind of want to take it now if I can get her, even though I only need 2 semeste
Least enjoyable class I have taken. She's pretty ok at explaining topics, but her quizzes and tests go way beyond what she teaches. You end up not learning anything and feeling more confused. There's about 20 quizzes, 4 tests, and 1 final. Final can replace lowest test score. Has test reviews, gave EC bc of pandemic, slow reply for emails.
I had a class with Prof Nguyen during the covid 19 pandemic. She was very helpful and wanted to make sure that we all could be in a good routine with our exams and hw despite being online. The class was on Knewton but we also had to fill out hw every week. It was a good class.
If you want to stay up all night studying for her tests to find out that the questions are 10x harder than what she teaches, take this class! She's fine at teaching, but she does not test you on things she teaches. This class was very stressful, take her if you actually enjoy calculus or taken the class before. Watch Khan Academy.
Awful
She is a good teacher but makes tests harder than they need to be. I got a B for her class, but I am thankful that I took this class because now that I am in higher Math classes, I understand them better. She is a good teacher for people who need to go on higher math classes, but if math is not part of your major, this class will be hard.
Literally the worst professor I have ever had. Didn't teach a single lesson or host a zoom meeting. In fact, she only communicated with us a grand total of 4 times during the entire semester. Had to teach myself the ENTIRE class and had over 120 homework assignments totaling over 12 THOUSAND points in the grade book. DO NOT TAKE TRUST ME
If you are taking her for Linear Algebra, be prepared to put in 10+ hours a week for the class. I suggest you get slader so you can see the explanations for the problems cuz she's not gonna go over them for you. Lectures are good at teaching you the essential ideas of the course but you should do all the homework questions if you want an A.
the worst prof ever! so much homework and is unaware that her students drown in hw. sometimes she never even said what hw you have to do which can be confusing. DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED ON THE TESTS WITH FAILING AVERAGES!! BESTIE, do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY FROM PROF. NGUYEN AT ALL COSTS!! ur mental health will suffer which is not pog <3
Prof. Diana cares about your success. She is very knowledgeable and is always ready for questions. Her biggest downfall was her inability to explain concisely. But if you're ready to do tons of HW and PRACTICE, then you'll be fine. This level of Math isn't easy for most people. You have to put in the work yourself as well. TIP: do the harder HW!
Worst professor ever and hardest class I've ever taken! Don't recommend if you plan on doing well in school.
Professor Nguyen's class is the most amazing one I have ever been to. She is always ready to explain the concepts again to help you ace your tests. She stays an extra 45 mins in the zoom meeting just to answer any questions you have. She even gives bonus points on tests just for attending class. Recommended if you really want fun classes!
By far the worst professor I've ever had. She acts like every student is a mathematician and therefore she makes everything more confusing and difficult. I spend many hours on the homework, think I understand, and then do miserable on every quiz and exam. Very upset that I took this class with her.
Prof. Diana is a super sweet person but very hard grader. Her class consists of 4 tests and a quiz every week. Even after doing all the homework, her tests and quizzes looked extremely difficult!! She expects you to know the lesson before you have been taught. It was also hard to follow along in her lecture because it was so fast paced.
Prof. Nguyen is one of the most caring and willing to help teachers I have had. Do NOT expect it to be easy because it is a Calculus class, it will be hard no matter what. Take advantage of her office hours, she's always available and willing to re-explain until you understand.
Great Calc professor. The material is of course difficult, but she explains it pretty well all things considered. If you are taking any high-level math classes, take her class. She is leagues better than any of the other math professors Moorpark has for high-level classes like Calc III, Linear Algebra, etc.
Ms Nguyen is pretty good for Calc 1. The class/concepts aren't easy, you have to dedicate time to do the HW and ask questions. She helps out students and their grades along the way. Overall I recommend her
I had a really enjoyable time in Professor Nguyen's class. I did not show up to all the lectures, but she posted the notes online so the material was all available. She assigns homework, but does not grade it, the grade in the class is based off the quizzes, tests, and the final. She is very accommodating and understanding. Really great experience!
I took professor Nguyen for pre-calc, calc II, III. She awesome! She's funny, good at explaining, rewards asking questions, and cares about your success as long and you show her that you work hard. She grades via 5 exams only, but because most of the class is failing after the second exam, she brings out random extra credit assignments.
I made an account on here just to say DO NOT take her online classes. Her notes are always wrong its so annoying. I brought it up to her and she said "no they're not i'm just not good at arithmetic"... She cant add/subtract multiply/divide and they let her be a calculus teacher ?? If you're not good at teaching yourself material then avoid her.
This was an online course so it's going to be a lot easier than if it was in person. But from what I can tell, she seems to be like a caring professor, but a tough one. A lot of homework. Quizzes were pretty easy. Tests were kind of hard simply because the way the course was spread out that once you get to the test, you forget some of the material
Prof. Nguyen is very organized & expectations very clear. Do the work, stay on top of the workload, understand the topics before moving on. She makes herself available for anyone & sends out announcements to help keep students on track. If you don't do these basic things, you only have yourself to blame for your grade. I took this class at age 15.
Good quality prof but hard class. Her Calc 2 class is NOT a cake walk. You have to work really hard. Homework doesn't count towards the grade so self motivation is key. Sometimes felt like I knew the material pretty well but didn't do very well on tests due to the difficulty. All said, she pushes you so learn a lot and will be ready to move on.
we were given a fair amount of homework but were given a very long time to complete everything which made it easy to space out the work. There was helpful videos that explained the problems if you were struggling to get the answer right. I also really like the online source we used to do all of our homework and tests.
I think people have a hard time in Nguyen's classes because they underestimate the difficulty of the course. She has her flaws as a professor, but it's the math that's hard. You'll pass if you listen to her lectures and ALWAYS do the homework, even though it's not required. Otherwise, you'll have to read the textbook which is a much harder option.
I took Calculus I and II with Professor Nguyen and thoroughly enjoyed both of my experiences with her. Yes, the material is difficult and so are the exams, but Professor Nguyen approaches lecture with insight and humor. Show her you are committed to the course and complete homework, and she will be there to help you however and whenever you need.
The professor always picks free textbooks, which is really amazing. If you attend classes, she will give extra credit opportunities. She put great effort in the classroom so that all everybody understood the concepts. She had weekly quizzes from the lectures, so remember to pay attention. Her notes were handwritten and clear.
She is your best option if you are pursuing a career that needs math (AKA if you want to go to M25C and further). If you want an easy A, DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. I promise you will fail if you do not put in any effort. Her tests are challenging, but in the end, you will be so good at math, I promise. She is very kind but be prepared to work.
Ms. Nguyen is a really nice lady outside of math LOL. She is kind of a tough grader, but she does it for our benefit to really prepare us for Calc 2. Go to her office hours!! They are sooo helpful and you can ask her questions about the lesson. Trust me I was slow, but she would accommodate me and show me the arithmetic step-by-step.
Wished I had taken in person. Online provided no lectures, I self taught through textbook/Knewton. All work due at end of months, rather than spaced out each week; horrible for procrastinators or those with busy work load. Prof. Nguyen though is very helpful and approachable with zoom meetups. Tests/quizzes were HARD. Use test review center!
Online-wise, it's very chill. You learn at your own pace and she doesn't really bug you. However, You must 100% be on ahead in the online course because if you fall behind it's goodnight to your grades, you're never gonna catch up. Summer online extremely works heavily.
Professor Nguyen is an amazing professor. She knows how to teach and prepare for her hard exams as well as Calc 2. This class is not an easy class, if you are looking for an easy class, do NOT take this professor. If you put in the hard work and pay attention to lectures, you will be very good at math and well prepared to take Calc 2.
I didn't mind going to class
The only reason i got a C was because i took on too many classes and procrastinated. If you're like me then this will be a lot of work. She is super clear on assignments and grading. She wants you to know the material and will reach out and give you feedback. I would take her class again and this time ill make sure i dont take on too much.
Wonderful professor, great at keeping a class's attention and describing concepts simply. The tests are 80% of your grade but are fair and not difficult if you review the class material.
Professor Nguyen is a professional. The class was pretty hard, but if you put in hard work and show that you care about getting a good grade you will pass the class. Professor Nguyen brings a very lighthearted tone into every lesson and it was a pleasure being in her class.
Professor Nguyen is a great calculus teacher. Her explanations are clear and easy to follow. However, you're only graded on quizzes and tests, which can be really hard. Homework is optional, but you should do it. There are a few extra credit opportunities so make sure to take advantage of them when you can.
I have a very strong grasp on Calculus I thanks to her, but I make simple algebraic mistakes left and right. She was extremely helpful, in and out of class. 8-9 other students and I often spent 4-6 hours in her office hours daily, she even brought us food a few times. Instead of rounding, she provides extra credit opportunities based on the topic.
She is very difficult. She will belittle you if you are confused and is not helpful during her office hours. I don't know how or why she has this rating, it should be at the highest 2/5. Her exams are hard and not like the homework. I would not recommend her class to anyone. If you need special accommodations, she will not be good for you.
Professor Nguyen is an amazing professor. She teaches very well, and the homework is not mandatory but is necessary if you want to pass every quiz and test. Her office hours are also very helpful. The test questions are very similar to the reviews and homework (I would say easier than the homework). I would take her again!!!!
Do not take. She teaches level 1 of math in class, the homework is level 10, and the tests are level 50. What she teaches us barely helps during the hw. She always complains about how hard the class is to teach because she doesn't have enough time to teach us it but still grades us on stuff she doesn't teach.
Awesome teacher. She really cares about her students and wants you to succeed. The class is very hard, if you don't show up or do the optional homework you'll probably fail. She wants to make sure you truly understand the math. Professor Nguyen is great about rounding up grades and gives extra credit opportunities and partial credit on tests.
Absolutely horrible experience taking Professor Diana. She expects you to work 7 days a week with at LEAST 4 assignments/homework courses a day. She also requires you to take 4 quizzes and a test a week. Absolutely insane if you think we have that much time to be able to put in that much work. Be ready for an ungodly amount of work.
took her online pre-calc class over the summer- please do not take this course if you have a job. It was the most amount of work I've ever done in any class. Using Knewton Alta which gives you more questions if you get any wrong. It's an okay learning method it's just so. much. work. I was doing her class probably 2-3 hours a day every single day.
Terrible. She used an online textbook, doesn't teach anything. Tests are based on multiple units, with no notes or formula sheets allowed.
Calculus with Professor Nguyen is tough, but worth it. She cares about students and provides extra credit. Doing the optional homework and using resources like ChatGPT, quizard, and unstuckstudy ai helped me succeed.
Calc 2 is objectively harder than Calc 1, and unfortunately Prof Nguyen does not do any favors in that regard. Tests do not reflect difficulty of the HW. Seems annoyed when students ask any questions. Routinely skips steps when working through examples. Switched up the schedule 2 weeks into the semester. I cannot in good conscience recommend her.
She showed clear annoyance when students asked questions during her lecture, intimidating many students. I get that she is "preparing us" for upper division math, but her exams don't match what's on homework or what is lecture. She provides extra cred, but it's not nearly enough to compensate for 90% of the class failing within the first 2 exams.
She is a nice person, however her lectures are confusing as she doesn't have planned lecture notes. She said "I don't remember how to teach calc 2 it's been a while and I will be better next semester." That is ridiculous as a majority of the class is failing, because her tests never reflect the HW and are hard. No effort is coming from her end.
Prof Nguyen is nottt the best math professor I've had… She hates answering questions and is rude when students ask them. The tests require 2 hours but we only get 1, which makes them practically impossible to do well on. She also forgets to post answer keys for her study guides, which are barely helpful to begin with. Pick a different calculus prof
She doesn't deserve to call herself a professor in any right as she doesn't teach. I have never seen or heard from Ms. Nguyen at all, after many emails. This class is operated by a paid service, Knewton Alta, awful attempt at online learning since it uses free 10 year old YouTube videos, and takes an entire day to complete a single lesson.
I really like Prof Nguyen as a person she's very funny and nice. But for calc 2 she didn't explain things great, skips steps (bad if visual learner) and wasn't prepared for the lesson being taught. The test were so hard. I did all the hw along with groupwork and still struggled on the exams. They were nothing like what we were doing in class.
A lot of homework and group work, which isn't graded. She only grades exams and some extra credit. Did all the homework and group work and still struggled a lot on exams. Exams were harder than the actual work in class. Great for calc 1, but not calc 2
I found Prof Nguyen to be a kind and funny individual but she wasn't a good teacher for calc 2. She gave attitude to students who asked more obvious questions. Skipped steps when showing examples. Personally she went a little to fast, I often had to watch YouTube lectures at home. I was so confident going into that first test. Average was a 40% ...
I really liked her class for M25A, but, unfortunately, M25B was not great. Close to half of the class dropped and many that remained were struggling to keep a C. Exams just didn't match the homework and groupwork in difficulty. Lectures weren't great and had to be supplemented with YouTube (Professor Leonard). I just can't recommend her for M25B.
I took her course without taking pre-calc so I was already at a disadvantage. This course is going to be difficult with any professor, but Mrs Nguyen makes it enjoyable. She's hilarious, knowledgeable, and she cares enough to be always be at office hours. I would definitely take her course again!
The professor uses an outside tool in Newton Alta as a lazy way to "teach." I don't recommend her online course to anyone, especially if you have a job. I have never seen so much homework from one class. It takes a whole day to finish just one lesson sometimes and that's if you have a free day to begin with.
Her ability to not care about her students baffles me. Every question I asked her about the course was met with “figure it out” and when I asked her for an extension because I was in the hospital she said no. The format of the class is easy because she doesn't teach it. I don't understand the point of having her as an instructor for the course
Im baffled that this is even a class because from the lack of care from the teacher and the insane work load, good luck keeping your mental health good with her. There is no structure other than a textbook and youtube videos that will get you through this class. She's getting paid to just grade and fail you. AVOID HER CLASSES LIKE THE PLAGUE
If you have asian parents, it's like you're taking a class by them, she's very degrading when trying to ask simple questions. She tries to make jokes but over time the course load just got too difficult for me and many students in which we chose to drop the class. You'll get asian parenting PTSD from her to the point it feels diminishing.
Calc 2 is a hard class, so be prepared to put in the time. She provided an occasional extra credit assignment, which helped greatly. Textbook homework is optional, but you definitely need to do it to understand all the topics. Shes a nice person and was helpful throughout the entirety of the class. Would recommend her over many of the other options
Calc is hard in general, but she claims "it's easy" and expects you to already know how to do all of it instead of actually teaching you how. Ridiculously fast lectures, no time to process any information at all. She's very funny and entertaining, I'll give her that. Also very diva and chic. But if you struggle with math at all... good luck...
The GOAT. Lebron of Moorpark math.
She uses Knewton Alta to teach the entire course. I had to do at least 4 hours of work DAILY or even spending an entire day on it to keep up with the pacing of this class. The only interaction with the professor was through unhelpful, weekly chatgpt'd emails. Do NOT take this class if you have a job, go to camp, or want any level of a fun summer.
I have never had a math teacher that made me hate math as much as this one. OH BOY... Standard based grading, so you couldn't understand your grades, homework that doesn't match her tests or worksheets, terse language, but wants YOU to be precise. And no, you can't use lectures from a better professor to "help us".
She is really a very nice person but the exams are absolutely insane. They are worth pretty much your entire grade. The class average on the first was 60/100 and there is no grade curve and no extra credit opportunities. Her lectures also tend to be very rushed and have so much information to process it's insane. Calc 3 is hard, she made it harder.
experienced teacher that gives great guidance through difficult concepts. u NEED to either ask questions / go during office hours to succeed. Tests r hard but she will walk you through future test questions AT ANY TIME . My only complaint is how her students dont seem to get jokes?? Like she said she will fight us and someone complained cmon yo.
The averages on every single exam were never above a 45% and there were only 9 students in the class. She does not curve or round or give any extra credit. There are no lecture videos so all that you have to use to learn calc is the homework program Knewton Alta and its an extremely fast paced course.
A lot of the reviews are unfair here. She absolutely cares about her students and is fair with her tests. I am not a math guru, and I have survived her honors courses all the way up until Calc 3. You will be held to a standard but that is good for you in the long term. If you're just looking for an easy A you have no business in STEM.
