Prof was interesting and fun - I didn't think I'd like the class but ended up looking forward to class. She knows her stuff - rarely does she use lecture notes, she just talks to us and class has good discussions. Read the book and take notes and you'll do fine - it's not hard to understand, just a lot of info. Now I know a lot about the U.S.!

AMAZING CLASS!! I suggest everyone take it even if you're not a geography major. You learn so many things and being on the trip definitely helps to get into the topic. It is a 3 unit class so don't think all you need to do is go on the trip. There is work involved .But it's all worth it. Professor Richardson once again, doesn't fail to impress me!

Professor Richardson is really cool and knows makes the class interesting. People complaining about her slides need to get a life. The class could have been really boring, but she had picture examples of the things she was talking about from when she has gone and witnessed them herself. She offers extra credit for doing community service.

A very good professor. I really enjoyed her way of lecturing about American geography by showing pictures of her trips around the country. She had really put an effort on planning her classes. She's very clear, thorough and pleasant. I have nothing negative to say about her.

I really ended up enjoying this class. Super nice lady. She explains things clearly and gives a lot of opportunities to get the grade you want. She gives you the option to go on a series of 3 class field trips for 75 points. Do it. It's easy and actually fun. Write down everything she says in lecture and you'll do fine :)

Dr. Richardson is super. Great lecturer and interesting subject. You have to pay attention to the details of her lectures but she makes that easy and supplies a lot of interesting extra support material. Easy to approach

If you like hearing about prof Richardson's vacations for three hours a week this class is for you! Exams are basically just how many details about her personal storiesopinions you can remember... Lectures don't contain much structure or actual information.. She's not horrible, but only take her class if you have to.

Such a bad class, not academic whatsoever it's just a bunch of photographs and some facts. Although she's a nice lady that's not gonna get u a good grade or inspire your learning. Definitely wouldn't take this class again nor would I recommend it

Prof Richardson was extremely helpful. Lectures are long but very informative. Ready and willing to discuss topics at any time. Uses personal travels and photos to demonstrate geographical terms and places studied in book. Didn't like text but learned a lot. Worked for my A.

Knows her subject, very good professor and really sweet but don't let her kindness make you think she is easy, she cares about your performance and her tests are challenging and she expects you to think and know your material well. All in all you will actually learn something in this class, but you have to attend and participate.

Caring and passionate professor. You can tell she is really into the material and loves to share her travels with her classes. As long as you come to class, take notes, actually do some studying, and put in good effort on your term project/maps its an easy A! Super laid back class and anyone who complains probably didn't try hard enough.

TAKE DETAILED NOTES. Whatever Dr. Richardson says, even if it has NOTHING to do with what's in the book could be valuable in your understanding of the material. It's not difficult and it's not a chore. You should already know 50% of what's being talked about since you live in the country you're studying.

Great professor, has a lot of knowledge and is good at presentation. She is very sweet and helpful. Take detailed notes. Her tests are not easy, she does not give much homework but her tests are based on her lectures and the text. Go to class you will not fair well if you don't. I highly recommend Professor Richardson!

Awesome professor, lectures are interesting and easy to follow. I liked that a lot of the content was based on personal experience. Tests were pretty easy. Just make sure you look at all the links and videos she posts online because she does include those in the exams.

I love Richardson!! She is very good at what she does and really wants students to do well. She is very accessible and very nice! With the 575 class we took a weekend trip to Yosemite. Class has no tests, only essays and smaller papers. Lots of in class participation assignments

Ive never done one of these, but I was so disappointed by this class. Every lecture is of photographs of her vacations. It is extremely hard to follow and you have no idea what to expect on tests besides a brief study guide. Shes a very nice lady, but would not recommend if you are one to take notes, because there is no words on her PowerPoints.

Passionate, knowledgable, and a relatively easy class to stay involved, Richardson was one of the best professors I've had at SDSU. Lots of OUTDOOR opportunities including Yosemite, San Diego local area, and camping. Grades depending on involvement and effort.

She is a very good professor who is very knowledgeable. She has a lot of experience as a geographer. Only a couple homework assignments that are fairly quick and easy. you have the option of writing a term paper or attending three field trips and writing small papers about them. Tests are a little difficult, but not bad if you study. STUDY
