She's really difficult to understand because she doesn't really project her voice all too well. She has slideshows but you would most likely learn a ton more from just reading the book. The only time she would really be of assistance is when she does examples and she has office hours for a short period of time.
Honestly I have never had such a hard class before. The tests are composed of questions that are above and beyond what you've read and comprehend. During class expect not to learn anything for you can barely understand and its basically going over 86 powerpoint slides a day. Lab quizzes are as hard as the tests themselves and are usually timed.
The class is hard but the teacher is nice and she'll help you if you reach out. Just read the book, take notes and study with the Mastering Biology website and you'll do fine. You really shouldn't take this class if you don't have prior interest in biology, though. It can get boring if your not pre-med or pre-nursing.
Dr. Schultz is not one of the best professors in Bio. Impossible to pass ,but her test are outrageously hard.
She is a very nice and helpful professor but, the class was hard overall! I studied for hours and still made a bad grade on the exams. Attendance isn't necessary, but you should go because you have to turn in lab activities. You have to go to tutoring, office hours, read the book and power-points just to make a passing grade. Don't recommend her!
Horrible!!!!! Please listen and do not take. If you end up with her, drop it the first day of classes! Will ruin your academic record.
She is very unclear and has a very thick accent, which I don't usually mind but she is very boring and doesn't really have any idea how to teach. Her test are very complicated and tricky and she usually doesnt give you any idea of what will be on the test. so if you have her switch out if you can
Horrible professor ,but also a arrogant woman who shouts rudely when she is explaining something.
She is a terrible teacher. Unclear. Boring. Has such an annoying voice. She is so rude to students when it comes to answering questions. She is overall rude to students and not helpful at all.
Not good at all. Not even helpful at office hours at all either. She is rude when it comes to explaining. She shouted at me for no reason.
NEVER TAKE HER!!! She's the worst teacher I've ever had. I had to drop her class because my grade was so bad. She isn't a good teacher nor does she give good notes. 40% of her students dropped her. That should tell you something.
The class isn't as bad as everyone is making it out to be. As long as you stay on top of the material, and actually put forth effort youll be fine. Im assuming everyone here was a slacker and not interested in actually trying. She does have a thick accent but shes very nice. Study alot and youll be fine.
This professor is not really nice to people. She is not sweet. Her lectures are not clear. I did everything I can to pass but it nothing is working. Studied 20 a week, tutoring, SI, and study group.
This is a college level course ; therefore, one must study, go to tutoring,(SI) ,read the textbook, and go to office hours for clarification. If you go to her office hours she is willing to help. Mostly everyone that has commented about her are either slackers or they never even cracked open the textbook. Study hard and long and you WILL pass.
The way she teaches makes it really hard to grasp all of the information needed to pass the class. The powerpoints go on and on and on and I feel like I take nothing away expect 10 pages of notes. She is, however, very helpful to those who actually want to try and succeed. Tests are insanely hard, in my opinion. Pick a different professor.
Terrible class. Makes exams impossible and insane so nobody could pass the class and lectures oh my gosh. Barely grasp. BOOOO!!!!! I cried every night. Highest grade I made I could made is D. Did everything like SI, OFFICE HOURS, MASTERING BIOLOGY AND ALLNIGHTER STUDIED. WAAAAAAA!!!!!!
This teacher has a thick accent that I found hard to understand. The lab quizzes are online after lab and are not easy. Exams are difficult but if you study the power points and open the book you can pass. There are better professors out there that give out study questions and are easier to understand.
Terrible professor with terrible Powerpoints that are impossible to understand. Exams do not reflect on power point at all. Lab quizzes are impossible as well.
This professor is horrible in teaching. People in other lectures who hasn't taken Biology in high school can pass her class. It is a waste of time going to office hours, you have to wait an hour just to ask questions or go over old exam. RIDICULOUS!! HAD to PAY BACK BRIGHT FUTURES AFTER DROPPING
Rude professor and barely understand concepts even from reading the textbook. Went to SI, did Mastering Biology tutorials, note-taking and review slides, and did group study. Can't pass her exams and so did people who study a lot and good at Science.
Do not take her. You will struggle the entire way and not pass. Waste of time.
Dr. Schultz truly cares for her students. If you are willing to put in the time to study for exams, you will succeed on exams (with As and B+s). If you need help, you can go to her office hours and she's willing to help. If there is a line, she is very flexible with hours and is willing to meet at anytime she does not teach another class.
This class really isn't as bad as everyone says it is. Most of the kids who wrote earlier on dropped the class because they did poorly on one exam. If you study and put time into to understanding the concepts, you'll be fine. If you need help, Dr. Schultz is always available during and after office hours. I really enjoyed the class.
RECOMMEND. The class isn't as bad as everyone is saying. Dr. S was hired 3 days before classes started. Even though everyone complained about paying for the class, no one actually gave her the opportunity to get comfortable in the classroom setting. Looking back, the beginning was a struggle, but in the end I learned a lot and enjoyed the class.
Overrated good comments. She is overall bad. She should not be highly recommended. Too many students dropped her class
Not recommended for Biology. For Biology classes take Humpries or Palmtag.
The students who put good reviews have the time to study. She makes everyone study on their own. Her test are an outrage. I also studied so much
Do not take her
She is not a wonderful professor
About that comment with Spoonfeeding is not true. We all know college we are not spoonfed. Those who dropped or failed Schultz class studied hours or all nighters for every exams. They read book, SI, tutoring, office hours and Mastering Biology tutorials. These students tried hard. Even students who are good at Biology do bad also
Biology is a hard class. Some students study for hours, go to SI and office hours and still don't do well. AGREED! But that DOESN'T mean that the professor is a bad professor! Science isn't for everyone. It only gets harder. Dr. Schultz could've made really easy exams and made the class really easy but she would just be giving you a false reality!
In the beginning I felt that the class was hard. I kept studying, attended SI, and office hours. She is extremely helpful in boasting your grade since she gave large curves on the last three exams. Also, she allowed everyone to retake all of their quizzes an unlimited amount of times to boost their grade. I received an A-, so passing is possible.
I'd recommend this professor. Although biology is a hard class Dr. Schultz is extremely helpful and approachable. She will answer any questions and help whenever she can. She really understands the concepts and simplifies things pretty well. Overall great professor!
Prof. Schultz is not nearly as bad as most these reviews let on. I would actually recommend her. She is well driven and tries to spark her interest in biology in her students. Schultz was a nice lady and was always willing to help those that needed it, I guess some people neglected that lifeline.
Horrible. Unclear. Worst professor I've ever had.
I like Dr. Schultz, she has an accent which could be difficult for some people. Her exams are not very structured in regards to her power points and lectures. She kind of throws in stuff, so the book isn't needed but it helps!! She's a really caring lady, not as bad as everyone says. She just is a little disorganized in lab and time management!
Excellent professor. Knowledgeable, prepared, always available. Tests' consistent with lecture material. Thoroughly enjoyed this class & would take any other class she offers. Easy to succeed in this class if you conform to the guidelines. My favorite professor thus far!!!
I took this professor for Cell Biology. I received an "A" in the class by printing out her powerpoints and taking good notes. As long as you attend class regularly, you will not need to buy the textbook. She is very helpful in the lab and will explain any questions you have. I would highly recommend this professor.
Highly recommend this professor for cell bio. As long as you attend class & pay due diligence to the power points, you shouldn't have any problems. She was extremely helpful whenever I stopped by her office and would stop whatever she was doing to answer my questions; she really takes an interest in her students success.
Dr. Schultz is a very sweet lady. She is extremely intelligent about the subject and is always accommodating to help students outside of class. Her accent does take some getting used to and the lectures can be a bit long. You will get out what you put into the class, including the labs. I definitely recommend this professor.
Dr. Schultz has been one of my favorite professors. She is very nice and understanding. Tests are challenging and go into detail there's a lot of material covered but you'll Learn! A lot ! The labs are the best Ever! I def. recommend her as long as you follow directions, study well for exams and show interest you've got an A.
Dr. Schultz is awesome!!! She is willing to help you out if you put in the effort and time into the class. She explains everything very clear and the labs are well organized and easy to understand :) Make sure you go to her lectures because everything on the exam is based on powerpoints, hardly used the book.
Do not think you can take this class and just study how you did in high school. I studied how i normally would and failed the first test when I thought I was prepared. Once you mess up bringing your grade back up is seemingly impossible. I wish you luck.
Extremely hard! Worst professor I've ever had. Don't take her! Cannot understand and tests are super hard.
The professor has a strong Spanish accent and is very difficult to understand. The tests are really hard and include drawinglabeling and comprehensive questions in addition to multiple choice. A lot of people dropped the class but if you study the book religiously it is possible to get a good grade.
Terrible class. Impossible to finish lab and lectures too long and no breaks. Disorganized, impossible exams, lab quizzes, and no study guides.
Impossible exams, lab quizzes, understanding lectures is impossible, and daily activities are useless. Office hours are useless. Had to spend time studying from SI and book. To get to office hours, you have to wait 30 minutes or even the whole office hours time just to get in.
I will admit the lectures can be long, if you put in the effort needed to pass, it will happen. She did give large curves on her exams and gives you 3 chances on your lab quizzes online to boost your grade. If you attend class, take good notes, and read through the book, you should have no problem . While her accent can be tough, you can pass
Worst teacher I have ever had. She is hard to understand. She reads off the power points for the whole class. I fell asleep every class because she did nothing to keep class alive, and her teaching style sucked.
Dr. Schultz is a good professor. She is always happy to help, and you can tell when you ask her questions about the subject. If you just study, you will be fine.
I personally didn't hate taking this class, but I didn't like it either. The lectures were incredibly long and boring, and she has an accent that can be very difficult to understand. I honestly taught most of the material to myself with the textbook. The way she presents the material can be challenging. Tests are difficult, but she curves. STUDY!!!
She knows what she is talking about but she does not know how to teach. She has a heavy accent so it is difficult to listen to her. I would just drop the class than take hers. I am normally an A student but barely passed the class. If you want to be disappointed every time you come to class take her.
This is the worst class to take unless your a BIO expert.
Dr. Schultz is very specific and clear about her lectures. This is a class YOU HAVE TO STUDY FOR. The tests are only hard when you don't study. Dr. Schultz is very helpful but you need to participate otherwise how can you expect her to know you don't understand. I'm not a science major and I took the class as a freshman. I would take it again.
Her tests come from quizlet. She is really nice but is very hard to understand. She is aware that she is a new professor and gives her students extra points here and there. She tries to help but most students give up on her. She helped me pass and was willing to let me turn in all of my late work for credit. I would recommend.
Avoid Schultz at all costs! In addition to how hard the actual course material is, her Argentinian accent is completely inaudible and distracting. Lecture's are a pain to sit through and it's extremely hard to keep focus. The only grades given in the course are weekly lab quizzes and four exams, not including the final.
I am a biology major, and let me tell you that this class was awful. The lectures are not only long but absolutely boring. She does not try to engage the class, and her accent makes understanding the lectures difficult, not to mention her tests are impossible and account for 75% of your overall grade. I definitely do not recommend this teacher.
Read almost all her powerpoints word for word every lecture. Super boring and hard to follow along. I had to basically study on my own and try really hard to receive the grade I did. The only reason why I attended class was because of the lab after lecture.
This class is impossible to learn something and she doesn't keep the class interested by reading her power point. Office hours are impossible to get help due to long lines. Students were crying day and night because of this horrible class. I am an honor student and had to study my butt of for a C+. Went to tutoring, SI, and group study.
Long lectures, disorganized with time, impossible lab quizzes and exams, and impossible to understand her lectures. The only reason to go to class is to do the labs and daily activities. I had to go get tutoring, SI, and work with a study group for a C.
HORRIBLE!!!! she has an extremely strong Spanish accent and you cannot understand a word she says. She is a very bad and boring teacher. I do nt recommend her.
Boring, Long lectures. She really doesn't explain material well enough. Office hours are no help at all and the only help is SI,tutoring TAs, and group study. I had to review the material in order to succeed. I studied my butt for a C+. Overall Super terrible.
Seriously the worst biology teacher at this school. She's hard to understand with her accent, and she speaks in monotone, which makes lectures hard to pay attention to. Exams are based a lot on diagrams and short answer, and she looks at super specific answers. WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND.
She's a nice person but an ineffective teacher. Lectures are etremely long, she will literally talk for the 2 hours and 45 minutes without a break. She reads off powerpoints & it's hard to understand because of her accent & montone. Attendence isn't mandatory but she does randomly take it.
TERRIBLE TERRIBLE professor. I had to read every chapter in the textbook on my own time to make up for the wasted time in class. Her lectures do not help at all and her exams are extremely difficult. I am an honor student and I had to work my BUTT OFF for a B in the class. Plus I went to SI sessions, tutoring, and ask TAs for questions.
If you had a problem that caused you to miss class and an assignment she was very understanding if you contacted her. The tests were extremely difficult and it was hard to figure out exactly what key points you should know. Probably could have gotten an A with another Professor and the same effort.
Here is a hint on to do well in this class. Go to class for the labs and daily activities, go to SI many times a week, read book, group study, and tutoring. Office hours waiting is at least an hour. TAs help better. Studied a total of 25-30 hours a week and worked this hard for a C. No breaks in the class and talks whole entire class.
Horrible class and professor. Disorganized with time and doesn't give breaks or enough time to do labs. Also, not helpful in office hours and had to wait 30 minutes to an hour for office hours. The only help is TAs, SI, tutoring, reading the book, and studying with groups. Doing all of these ended me up with C+. Attended class for labs and DAs
Here are the following ways to do well in this class if this is the only choice:Go to SI, tutoring, read book, review daily activities, review and go over several times until you understand, and group studies. Also, ask TAs questions. Exams are nearly impossible and I worked my butt for a C+. Office hours, professor doesn't explain things well.
Impossible exams and lab quizzes. Really had to read the book after class and review labs and make sure to understand them. The only way to pass is to read book after class, review daily activities, study in groups each week, and go to SI. I worked this hard for a C. Her office hours are long waits.
Lectures are very long winded and not very easy to follow. Is not helpful at all and is useless when it comes to answering questions. She really just reads powerpoints, no study guides. The only help is to go to TAs, SI, tutoring, read book after class, do DAs, and join study groups. Not helpful at all in office hours. Got a C+ in the end.
Honestly she's not the best teacher but she doesn't leave you behind. She will change her syllabus if you actually show you want to get a good grade in her class. Go to her office hours every other week, it helps, she'll give you hints of what's on the test. Her power points are a little confusing because there repetitive. You have to try to fail.
Bottom line with Diana.. you have to put in the work and you'll get an A. I finished the class with a 94 so it is possible. Read over EVERY slide as a study guide. During tests ask her questions and she'll help you get a few answers. DONT SLACK because you won't pass. Half the class drops because of laziness. Tough class but just put in the work
This was THE hardest class I have ever taken. She has a very thick accent which makes her hard to understand, and she reads straight off the power points. She will tell you to study from the book, but if you read everything word for word off of her power points, you will be better off and less confused. Lectures are long and repetitive.
Terrible Terrible Professor. She is super hard to understand and has a thick accent. I had to study nonstop 25 hours a week to study. All she does is read off the PowerPoint. Here is a hint join study groups, make 500 flashcards per units, review slides and read along, and go to SI 2-3 times a week. Luckily I have a B right now. Also use textbook.
Very Very impossible exams. Ended up with a B before the drop date. Here is a hint go to SI 2-3 times a week, Make sure you make 400-500 index cards, review slides and understand thoroughly. Accent is hard to understand and she reads only from the PowerPoint without explaining it well. Study about 4 hours week and total of 20-24 hours a week.
Dr. Schultz is an amazing professor! If you are interested in the class and pay attention during lecture you will have no problem getting an A. Just make sure to go to SI and take good notes!
TERRIBLE TERRIBLE professor. I had to review slides until I understand and go to SI nonstop. She reads from the slides and do not help at all and her exams are extremely difficult. I am an honor student and I had to work my BUTT OFF for a A- in the class.
WORST PROFESSOR EVER! You basically have to teach yourself everything. Her exams are based solely on mastering biology content. Doesn't explain material well enough and reads from the power-point. Overall, you have to study nonstop on your own. I worked that hard for at least a B+. I just went to class for labs and Daily activities which help.
Goes into detail too much. She doesn't teach as if it is a general class. Doesn't know how to teach but very intelligent.
She does not explain assignments well and she is very confusing at what she wants from you. She also gives no notes in class, and you have to learn EVERYTHING on your own. The only way to pass the class is to study nonstop and go to SI. Worked this hard for an A
HOW TO PASS THIS CLASS IF YOU END UP WITH HER WITH NO CHOICE: do mastering biology, study everything with PowerPoint, review and study old and material each week nonstop, go to SI, and ask TAs for question. She is totally unclear about labs and assignments. Study them nonstop and review daily activities with PowerPoint. I ended up with a 92 overall
NO life. I promise. I gave this class my all, late night studying. I think overall, I contributed 20+ hours just studying every week for her quizzesexams. DO NOT BUY THE TEXTBOOK! waste of money. her powerpoints everything you need to know. GO to SI. ASK ASK ASK FOR HELP and keep up with her, read the chapters when she tells you! GOOD luck. (92%)
beyond horrible. you can't understand a work she says. her lectures are always so long and boring. her tests are so hard and she gives random quizzes. she is not clear on her instructions. you basically have to teach yourself all of the material somehow. her class made my life a living hell.
When you have this class, this will be the most time consuming class ever. The most important advice to give you is to put this class the highest priority if you have her for Bio 1. Make sure you budget at least 450 dollars to purchase textbook, mastering biology access code, and lab manual. Study everything nonstop and go to SI.
Be prepared when taking her class for extremely difficult exams, lab quizzes, and long lectures. This class is a study intensive course and requires nonstop reviewing and studying 25 hours a week including weekends. STUDY GUIDES ARE NOT PROVIDED! Go to SI, and plan on purchasing Mastering Biology and Textbook. I ended up with a 84 in the class.
Beware that exams and lab quizzes are super difficult. Make sure you attend class to do the lab and daily activities to help your grade a little. Review the daily activities and slides and make sure to understand it well, go to SI, do review questions in the textbook, purchase Mastering Biology access code, and join study groups and study nonstop.
Horrible professor. You can barley understand what she is saying half the time. DO NOT TAKE.
Inspirational; do not recommend. It was an amazing class, but i would not take it again. Well, i have to because i failed
The only difficult part of this class is finding time to read. If you slack you won't pass. You have to commit to read over and over. Don't really need the book unless you want to know all the details. All you need is the power points and commitment from your part. You will get an A
Wish i could drop the class now, but it's too late. if anything hopefully i get a C. cannot understand a word she says nor can i remain focused. hardest i've ever had to work.
She doesn't seem to care about if people pass or not; she gets irritated easily with questions and sometimes won't even answer them because she feels you should already know it. Very thick, hard to understand accent, and it doesn't help that she's extremely monotone, only changing her tone to yell at distracted students.
I would NOT recommend her to my worse enemy. Horrible professor, lecture notes are online and all she does is read off the screen so I don't see the point in a THREE hour lecture time. If you want to pass basically become a biologist overnight and teach yourself! Strong accent, talks fast, rude, and doesn't explain or repeat anything. Happy I dropped
Worst professor I've ever had. I changed my major because of her.
It's not her fault about the clarity of her voice but she also doesn't explain well in general, at least to me. When no one raises their hand or wants to answer a question she asks during lecture she assumes we know nothing and be all "it's so sad you don't know this" or "we JUST talked about this guys how don't you know this from the first class?"
She was a very sweet woman but you won't pass. I am not at all a bad student and I failed miserably. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. She does not make things clear at all. She also has a very thick accent which I always heard other students complaining about.
This woman could talk for days. She knows her stuff and most of it is interesting; however, the classes are super long even with the 10 minute break she gives. She likes participation and give EC for it. Exams are extremely hard and you need to study. Most of it is online though if you search hard enough. STUDY STUDY
Prior to taking this class, I was told that it was impossible to pass. However, I ended up with an A in the class. It's simple: READ THE BOOK. I read all of the assigned readings, and never had difficulty on tests. Those who didn't read ended up failing. Schultz genuinely wants her students to pass and will help if you ask. Utilize her and SI.
If you put forth the effort, so will she. The tests are long, but they are based on the powerpoints and she will go over the tests with you. She is more than willing to answer questions, just utilize office hours and SI. She gives extra credit for answering questions and bonus qs on tests. Take notes and study and you'll pass no problem
I'm a slacker but I'm pretty smart as well, I took Bio 1 /w lab and I would usually fall asleep in her class, she reads power points for her lectures so it was pretty boring. Then when test days came around I would look at all the power points which she always posts online and the tests consisted of the power point info. Read power points pass.
I did well on this class but I certainly had to work for my grade. Lectures are very long but the labs were fun. i recommend to participate in class because of extra credit. For the exams I only read the power points, but make sure you *Know* them.. Expect a lot of reading overall for this class ! Also don't skip there's extra points for showing up
She was an awesome Professor. Very difficult to understand at times. If you need help go to office hours and I guarantee she will do everything she can to help you. Study and make sure you know the material.
She is definitely difficult to understand and exams and lab quizzes are outrageously impossible. Definitely review the slides, go to SI, and do group study. This is the only way to pass
Absolutely horrible and hard to understand. The only way to pass the class is to study nonstop everyday including weekends. The labs, you need to understand inside out to do well in the lab quizzes. Before the drop date I currently have a B which is lucky. My table and the tables nearby dropped and now are empty.
Took this class last fall and got an A. The class is not hard you just have to read. If you're not willing to put in the time to read/study (same thing) you won't do well. You don't need the book, just follow the ppt, but MAKE SURE YOU KNOW THEM TO THE TEE!!!!! do that and you've got an A... read the labs before, or it will take forever to finish
Not the best professor but its not as horrible as people say. The class is tough! very very tough! especially if you're not used to studying (I wasn't) so i was trying to figure it out, and well ended up with a B. I suggest reading over and over the notes she gives and you should do well.
I actually enjoyed this class despite all the bad reviews. If you end up with her don't be afraid but do read the powerpoint and the labs. Thats what I have been doing and I have an A. Tests are tough, but if you read and understand the material you will do fine.
Horrible professor and no help at all. Everything is on your own. The only way to success in this class is to study nonstop. Final grade is a B overall.
I honestly lived for this class, but it paid off in the end. I just suggest reading, a lot, and going to SI and using all the help you can get. If you do all the aforementioned, you have an A. She is super sweet, these comments are horrible.
Honestly Shultz is the best professor I have has at FGCU so far, she is very approachable and friendly as well as concerned for her students. If you go to class and read her powerpoint theres no reason not to get an A+ in her class. If you fail her class it is because you either didn't care or got help at office hours. She will help anyone if asked
Long lectures, long notes, overall just long everything. My advise: read the power-points, go to class, refer to the book if you doubt something, ask questions, and you should have a solid B. If you do a little more, like SI and office hours an A is achievable.
This way by far the hardest class I've ever taken at FGCU. She makes the test 80% of your grade and even worse she has a very strong accent and dims her light during lectures. Lectures have lasted all class at times and I strong do not recommend her at all. She is not much help during office hours either.
I love her! Great teacher and is willing to help you if you need it!
She's a very nice lady, but her test are really freaking hard. The test are 75% of your grade! She gives very boring and long lectures and she has a strong accent so I wouldn't recommend her.
She is extremely difficult to understand and lectures nonstop. The only way is to pass is to study nonstop, go to SI, and review PowerPoint and do mastering biology.
I love Professor Schultz. At the beginning, her accent is a bit difficult to understand, but you quickly get used to it. The lectures are amazing and she downloads all the power-points onto canvas so students can easily follow along. She is funny and often adds humor into the lesson, making a topic more relateable. Great professor.
TAKE SHULTZ FOR BIO! Compared to other bio professors, I think she's the best. She gives extra credit on each test, curves each test and she's such a nice and intelligent woman. Yes she has an accent but it doesn't get in the way of your learning.
I would not recommend her at all! Her power points are horrible and hard to understand and it is so difficult to pay attention to her lectures because of her accent and she does not give fill in the blank notes like other professors. She does not make learning bio interesting at all. Humpharies is an amazing bio professor.
I loved professor Shultz. Her lectures are long and boring but her powerpoints make great study material. I also found it helpful to read along in the textbook. If you put in the time to study you will do very well in her class. Her tests are all multiple choice with bonus questions and usually around a 10% curve. JUST STUDY AND YOU'LL DO FINE
It's difficult to focus on the material in class due to the long, boring lectures; however, she condenses the textbook into specific points in her powerpoint slides so it's not too overwhelming. If you put in the effort to study/review the material before the test you'll do well in her class.
Dont take her low score as any bad thing! Mrs. Shultz is amazing and loves to see her students do well. Concentrating in class is a little difficult but biology requires studying anyways. Make sure you study, read over her powerpoints, they are a great review for her tests. Attend her office hours!!! She's always willing to help.
She is the best biology teacher. Her tests directly correlate with her power points and she is so understanding and caring!! She gives extra credit opportunities EVERY exam and they are multiple choice, compared to other biology teachers with essays. She is great!! Take her!
She was not only the most boring professor I've ever taken but she also has a thick accent. I took this class because the original professor we were suppose to have could not make it for the semester so we ended up with her. Do not take her class if you get bored easily her class work was easy just a quiz and a discussion due every week.
She is a great teacher! I never heard the so called Thick Accent. Yes Biology is hard and yes you're going to study but the power points are LITERALLY you're test. She is very accessible and loves when you ask question! I'm very thankful for her. She is the reason I am passing Bio!
The 'thick accent' so many people describe dissipates within the first week of her lectures. You'll get used to it like any other new thing in life. ;) She is incredibly knowledgeable, cares about her students, and the tests directly correlate with her lectures. The way she says 'proteins' will rock your world! Would take her a million times over!!
Tests go along with power points, you study them you'll be sure to pass.
We sit through an hour and twenty minute lecture everyday snoring, as she points at a Powerpoint that she clicks too fast through to actually write anything down. Says there is no homework but you dont learn anything in class, read the book on your own if you want to learn. Tests are hard.
She lectures for long periods of time. Although she has a very thick accent I could always understand her. Her tests are very difficult and if you don't study you will not pass. I missed a test and she was very helpful when I tried to make it up even though it was hard b/c our schedules didn't align. If you don't like lectures you won't like her.
Microbiology is not an easy course, however, she tries to compensate for it by trying to lighten up the material. She genuinely cares about her students. The best way to pass is to study the powerpoints and the text book. warning, she does have a thick accent but you can still understand her. She's from Argentina.
Be prepared for heavy lectures every class. The way she writes on the white board is very careless as if she does not care if students can read it or not. Lectures do not flow in a way to understand the material. I would recommend to not take this class.
I was really hoping that she would be a good professor but she's not. Exams are 12% of your grade each and the final is only 10%. She does not know what she is talking about she goes to fast on the powerslides. The tests are nothing like what she has on the powerslides or study guides she has. Do not take her. I love biology but she made it hard
loved her! She gives extra credit & tests are multiple choice.
I missed the Final Exam and she went out of her way to make sure I could make it up with no questions asked, she always had a positive attitude in class and made it exciting, she truly cares about her students
I'm sorry, she was really nice, but i could not understand her lectures at all. she went so fast on everything and it was very hard for me personally to understand her explanations. I tried studying through the PowerPoints but they were really long and hard to comprehend. At first, I was doing great, but the harder it got, the worst it was.
