I love to write and I love grammer. This was not the case until after I took her course. She is a sweet lady and I very much enjoyed being in her class. Don't miss a day and STUDY the grammer (it gets harder) and you'll do fine.

She is very nice and helpful. The more revisions you do, the better your chances of getting an A. She gives quizes on books, so reading is unavoidable. If you're not a fan of writing, take this class for painless experience.

Prof. Allenberg is a sweetheart. Her revisions are aggrating at first, but then you really start to learn. She really cares about her students.

this is one of my favorite classes she leads dicussions with questions and makes you think alot. She has yet to give us an in class grammar test... we only have a few weeks left, all the grammar quizes have been take home ones. Shes been amazing.

I'm an English major, and she is the best professor I've ever had. Discussions are amazing: I always leave class wishing we had more time. She doesn't allow low-quality work; she lets you revise and revise until you get an A. Take this class.

She wants her students to do well. Many revisions; final revision is your final grade. Readings provoke thinking outside of class. She even made cookies for class twice. I just wished she made her pondering questions earlier so we could have discussed

She is such a great professor. My writing improved so much during this course due to her helpful revisions of my papers. There are a lot of re-writes, but they really help. She wants everyone to do well. A lot of reading and grammar work, however.

Professor Allenberg is an awesome teacher. She is very flexible and the sweetest little woman ever. She let's you rewrite your papers pretty much til you are satisfied.Grammar tests get a bit hard but overall a great class

Allenberg seems like she enjoys teaching and wants her students to do well. She is a hard grader, but lets you revise your papers until you are satisfied. My writing really improved in this class.she also picks interesting books.

definitely one of the best and fave teachers i've had at BU, the workload is a lot, but you end up really learning a lot in the end. plus, she's very willing to help you out on your writing, which is a total plus.

It is not a hard class but the grammar quizzes every week are annoying, you will rewrite every paper at least 5 times and by the end it will not be your paper anymore, it will be hers. Makes class very interesting and wants her students to do well though.

shes extremely nice and a very fair grader. shes very helpful and lets you rewrite your paper several times, then grades the final one. very interesting class, workload is a lot (sort of), but it's not bad really. grammar quizzes are usually take homes, when they aren't she probably won't count them

Prof. Allenberg is the sweetest little woman. She loves teaching and you can tell. She lets you rewrite papers until she/you is satisfied. Grammar tests suck, but she always helps you a little bit (take home tests!). I would <3 to take this class again. Relatively easy and she chooses good books

Wonderful professor. Incredibly sweet and helpful. Baked cookies for our class twice! Assignments are clear and criticisms are constructive; she really wants you to do well. Most course material is interesting and relevant to topic. Discussions are engaging. I recommend this class to anyone.

Prof. Allenberg lets you do a lot of rewrites..and she really intends to help you improve. But sometimes what she says about your papers doesn't reflect how she's gonna grade them . Have been tricked a few times. I wish she didn't praise my writing too much before she gave me my final grade..

Such a sweet lady!!! However, I feel as though my writing has gotten worse since taking her class. While she allows rewrites, she is fairly contradictory with her suggestions which gets frustrating. Furthermore, the books are really boring but, the class time manages to be interesting.

allenberg is a brilliant lady and a kind professor. expect to really learn something important. i like the stories she picks for us to read, and the papers are interesting topics that she lets you rewrite until you are satisfied with the grade. class discussions are amazing. highly recommended!!

Great teacher. Discussions were surprisingly fun. We talked about all kinds of topics and the hour and a half went by real fast. Essay rewrites make it fairly easy to get a decent grade. She definitely wants us to do well and enjoys helping us however possible. I would definitely recommend her.

This is the best professor ever! She allows you to rewrite papers until you are pleased with the grade. The class is a lot of work but it is interesting, and class discussions are the best. Actually makes the writing requirement fun!

Such a kind, sweet woman. She does not believe in allowing confusion or bad grades. Whatever you do, make sure you have her, and try to get her for 150 as well. Went to class simply for the entertainment. Lectures consist of rhetoric from fellow classmates and suggestions. I wish she could see these posts so she knows how loved she is!

One of the best and nicest professors I have ever had. She makes you work for the grade, but her class is so interesting and humorous too. She asks these bizarre questions that make you laugh and get the whole class participating. She is so nice, and even brings snacks. She is a motherly figure and treats us all like her own children. Take it.

Extremely nice lady. She really wants you to do well. While you have to work for a good grade, she lets you do rewrites until you get the grade you think you deserve. She's always there during office hours as well. Go to her, she will help! What an amazing teacher!

Possibly the best writing professor at BU. I hated the thought of taking WR150, but she made it interesting and fun. She picks fantastic books to read that you will actually enjoy. You have to put forth some effort to get a good grade, but she lets you re-write papers until you're happy with the grade. If you can, take this professor by any means.

GREAT teacher. Very passionate and great at explaining philosophy concepts. LOVED how uch she encouraged class participation and always made surveys between us. She even brought brownies! VERY smart and extremely helpful. Her quizzes are hard, but class is never boring, and that's a lot to say. Basically, wants us to do well. TAKE HER!!!

Professor Allenberg is a nice lady. The course work load is heavy. There is reading, grammar, and writing every week. Expect to rewrite everything for her class and learn to adapt your writing style to follow her style. Overall a nice woman who really cares about her students. The class is worth the time if you're willing to put in effort.

She has good topic for discussion. Topics about philosophy are hard to understand. Grammar quiz seems easy, but not easy at all. Many grammar mistake that are hard to recognize. Let you do many revision until you're happy with the grade. Go to her office hour and talk about your essay. She'll tell you what she wants. Talk and participate

I think she's so great that I've taken both 100 and 150 with her. Expectations are high, so don't take her courses if you're looking for an easy class. My writing is improving tremendously. None of my teachers ever read my papers as closely as she does. She's fantastic. I can't write enough nice things about her in this space!

Diane is amazing, I simply love her. Don't be scared to make a friendly atmosphere within your class. Its the only class I'm taking that I just love. You get to do lots of re-writes so you can get your papers to an A with perseverance. Be good to her, she's a gem.

Seriously she is the BEST teacher I have ever had!!!! She makes class exciting to go to because she pushes you think in ways you never have and is willing to listen to all opinions. You leave her class a much better writer and she gives you the opportunity to rewrite your papers. My only disappointment is that I can't have her next semester!!!!

TAKE THIS CLASS. She allows rewrites on almost all of the papers (I'm pretty sure only counting the final grade), so I guarantee your writing will really improve. Wonderful teacher and person. Amazing class discussions and reading selection. A class you will actually look forward to going to.

She is an amazing writing professor, above all else. She bakes, gives interesting readings, and asks extremely though-provoking questions that make you question and understand yourself. She believes in many REWRITES! She will help you focus your writing and have great discussions. She cares about her students will make your WR150 class memorable!

TAKE THIS CLASS! She's a grammar fiend but helps you with your writing. believes in rewrites, her essay comments are very helpful She made an 8am very enjoyable. Makes you think about your writing. Had to put alot of work into the class and the writing but it was worth it. If you're willing to do the work she can help you improve your writing alot.

Professor Allenberg is the most intelligent professor I have had at BU! She is a tough grader but is very fond of rewrites. She really wants her students to improve. She improved my writing immensely. Just make sure to read all material because there are easy pop quizzes if you do the reading, do rewrites, and go to office hours.

She is amazing! you can rewrite any paper multiple times so you pretty much always end up with an A. she is extremely helpful so go to her office hours. she made 8am class enjoyable by baking us treats and bringing in juice :)

I definitely did not have a good experience with this Professor. She definitely knows her stuff, but can be condescending at times. Take this class if you are willing to do a lot of work and want to learn. She gives quizzes almost every week on Wadsworth and is a tough grader.

She is a great teacher. She helps you as much as you help yourself. It is not a very easy class even though she lets you re-write assignments. Very personable but classes often go off topic and do not accomplish much.

Prof. Allenberg is just great. She gives you plenty of rewrites (I actually kept rewriting one paper for a whole month!)and the grammar exams are ok. If you are having trouble, she goes out of her way to help you. She bakes cookies and cakes, and really cares for her students! Trust me and take this class!

AMAZING professor. She cares so much about her students and how well they do. Take this class. I'm upset that I didn't get into the class for next semester because the spots fill up fast. She allows her students to rewrite their papers until their grades go up. She loves rewarding her students with high, well-deserved grades.

Extremely sweet lady! Brings food to early classes, goes out of her way to help her students, and is genuinely kind. Isn't an extremely easy grader, but works with you and if you put in the effort you can really improve your writing. Definitely recommend her, she is amazing.

This is more an ethics class than a writing class. An excellent ethics class, though. Classes are usually full-class discussions about ethical questions like "Would you do this if this happened?" or "Is it morally okay to...?" She goes easy on you for assignments compared to other classes.

She is such a sweet and dedicated lady. I absolutely loved going to her class ( even though it was at 8 am). She changed the way I think and approach, essentially life. A great, difficult-but rewarding, experience.

allenberg is by far the best prof at BU. she gives interesting assignments, is the nicest person, helps as much as possible and even brings in snacks sometimes. she wants all of her students to do well and it shows. i'd recommend her to anyone despite her tough grading. but it isn't that hard to get an A if you try. i'd take a class of hers again.

i just had to write a post b/c i love this woman!!Sure she is a hard grader but I've never seen anyone so caring and open-minded. although she might seem a little picky, she lets you rewrite your papers! and if you really put work into it she'll reward you. She really is a great professor. She edits your essays to death and doesn't let you rest until they are the best they can be, which is appreciated. Wonderful prof! Really cares about her students and wants them to do well. The grammar tests usually ended up being take-home worksheets. Often brings food to class. Although she didn't follow her schedule listed on the syllabus, but its because she wanted to give us more time between papers. Fair grading.

I absolutely love Professor Allenberg! She is such a sweetheart and really cares for everybody in the class. The rewrites that she makes us do actually help our grades and we can do as many rewrites as we want! Another plus is that she brings so many goodies to eat during class. I absolutely love her. Most of her WR100 kids try to take her WR150.

Her classes are always fun and interesting, and she always brings goodies to eat in class! We have to do a lot of rewrites, but that's fine, because it really does help our writing. Take her! I love Professor Allenberg! She's a very considerate and funny person and really wants you to do well. Her corrections are really helpful when it comes to improving style, plus she brings treats! My only complaint is that she sometimes speaks very softly, but you can get used to it. Take her!

Professor Allenberg is the sweetest lady ever!! She is always there for her students and really tries to get to know them on a more personal level. You get the option to have a 10 min conference with her where you talk about yourself(strengthsweaknesses). Her class may become a setting for debates and the topics are amazing. You get to decide what you want to research for the essays. She gives grammar quizzes but also gives you the tools to ace them. She cares for each and every one of her students. She is a tough grader on quizzes and essays, but she will let you rewrite them until they are perfect. I'm not a great writer, but I learned a lot and enjoyed this class.

Professor Allenberg is amazing. She really cares about the class and will be always be there if you need help. She's a VERY tough grader, though. Getting more than a B+ is nearly impossible. The class is still worth it. She's a lovely person and is very insightful as well. She brings cookies, brownies and candy to class pretty often as well.

Probably one of the most interesting teachers I've had. She's the kind of teacher that will pause the class discussion half-way through and spend the rest of class talking about some moral puzzle or controversial topic just because she feels like it. Watch out though, she's a stickler for grammar. and TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE REWRITES!

A real gem. Sweet, kind, caring, punctual. She knows what she's doing, this isn't her first rodeo. You work for your grade, sure, but there are plenty of opportunities to improve it. Careful though, she can tell when you're not putting passion into your writing, and she's very skeptical.

I took Short Story Now with her and it was one of the most interesting/thought provoking classes. She helps a ton with improving your writing skills as well as making you think in ways you haven't before. If you work for it, you'll do well.

This class was somewhat tough but I learned so much and really enjoyed it. The stories we read had significance to everyone and had a deeper meaning that we often discussed in class. I really liked professor Allenberg because she is caring, woke, and fun. Be ready to open up and have some deep discussions!

Professor Allenberg cares deeply about her students and wants everyone to not only succeed in her class but improve as writers. She gives A LOT of feedback and allows students to rewrite papers for a better grade, which is super helpful when learning how to write college papers. Overall a phenomenal professor, you just have to work for your grade.

Professor Allenberg is such a sweet and wonderful person, but she grades pretty harshly. She will make you do 2+ rewrites because she holds such high expectations for her students, but it's only because she cares. She doesn't do it to make life difficult for her students. Not impossible to get a good grade though.

Though this class was fairly difficult, and she makes you do a lot of rewrites, my writing drastically improved as a result of this class. This class won't get you an easy A, but you will definitely become a better writer.

The short stories are an interesting read, most of them deal with heavy topics of genocide and assault. The paper topics really allow you to show your creativity. Papers in the beginning were short then the second to last was a 5-page research paper then an original short story based on your research. Hands out treats throughout the semester :D

Inspirational professor who changed my life. You'll have to pay attention and participate, but Professor Allenberg truly pushes you to be better. Highly recommend. Love her forever.
