All the essays you write are Summary and Analysis. She is a very tough grader and doesn't give very good feedback. You write a new essay every week.
So many essays, did not learn anything in her class, she does not give very good feedback. So glad im done with this class.
She gave so much papers, wasnt really clear on her criteria, she was also a tough grader and didnt really help.
Too many papers. Not enough time. Didn't learn anything.
You do a summary and analysis every week that are a total of 2 or 3 paragraphs each, but her grading system is unfair. Her syllabus claims that you will receive a C as a standard of meeting the assignment requirements and that an A is reserved for those who meet "exceptional" work.
I had Diane Elizabeth for ENGL101. One thing I liked about this class was you knew what to expect to be doing each week and her course was organized on canvas. It is a HEAVILY essay-based class and grading can be a little harsh.
if you want an A in the class, you need to do extra discus. replies for extra credit evry time. Most answers for the quizzes are online. just make sure to write a lot. also the analysis should be critiquing the work, not reacting to it. does not allow revisions. feedback could be more specific.
This rating is actually for English 102. For some reason that isn't a choice when rating. She is a great 101 instructor as well. Ms. Elizabeth has clear guidelines, great assignments, lots of freedom to pursue self-driven topics. I would recommend her to anyone.
You have an essay and essay workshop as well as a quiz every week. The plus side to that is you know what to expect every week because it will be the same structure. Her canvas is very organized. She can be a harsh grader but has extra credit opportunities. For context, I am not the best writer/did every assignment & ended the class with an 87%.
This review is for ENGL102. I took Diane for 101 as well as 102 because I like her courses' consistency on what to expect each week. There are a lot of papers however she gives clear instructions and feedback. I am not a good writer but did every assignment and ended with an 86%.
Incredibly ambiguous grading criteria for an English professor, she also has a tendency to let personal opinions affect her grading. Do not take this class if you can't read your professor's mind!
Took this online class due to my busy schedule with work and this class was absolutely amazing, with due dates for Sundays allows you to get everything done in a timely manner. Teacher responds quickly to any questions asked. I recommend to take this online class.
This is for her ENG102 class. Good course, she has 3 big essays that you work on through the quarter with some short quizzes about every other week. Not a hard class at all, she isn't a super harsh grader and she gives you extra credit opportunities almost every week. Didn't try super hard in this class, didn't do 2 assignments and still got an A.
Professor Elizabeth was fantastic. She provided timely feedback on assignments and the feedback was relevant. She was very responsive to emails and correspondence. At the start of the quarter, she stated her grading criteria and expectations very clearly. It was easy to know what was expected of me. It was clear that she cares about her students.
She does a great job of giving feedback and making you feel valued in the class. Highly recommend.
Make sure to complete all the discussion posts and responses, and you'll be good. This is a pretty easy A class.
This teacher gives a large amount of feedback on almost every assignment. There are a few small quizzes, but they follow right after a video or small piece to read. There are a few papers for this class but you choose them and will need to follow a well explained rubric. Teacher is very understanding and things are spaced out well, easy class.
This course was designed perfectly. Homework was due every Sunday. Giving enough time for us as students to complete. Assignment instructions were given in form of extra credit. Examples were provided before an essay was due. Overall best professor I ever had.
I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to learn from such a talented and committed instructor. Her expertise in the subject matter, approachability, and dedication to student success have created a highly engaging learning environment. I took an online course.
I feel that within the assignments everything was explained clearly and the class was easy to follow. I feel that I learned relevant information and skills that will be useful further in my life. I would definitely recommend this course to others because it was engaging and the materials such as some specific assignments were helpful.
Diane Elizabeth was amazing! She always made sure the class knew what they were doing and was always willing to help out students whenever they needed it. She provided very detailed feedback on all assignments and provided so much extra credit. The assignments were never difficult or hard to understand. The class overall was great and I recommend!
I would recommend it to others because it would help them fully understand how to write an informative essay and an argumentative one.
Diane was an amazing English teacher! I highly recommend if you'd like a stress free and great learning environment. Coming from someone who doesn't normally like English classes at all, I enjoyed this class a lot! (She is a million times better than Jessica Edwards!)
This class was engaging and easy, everything is due Sunday which helped a lot with doing my other assignments. Grades almost quickly take less than a week for sure. well-organized modules and fun discussions.
I loved that this class does not exhaust you with discussion posts like other English classes. You take small quizzes that give you an understanding of the subject while also doing assignments that feel important. It is not a marathon of discussion posts with 10 replies every week, which I really appreciate.
The professor includes helpful or informative comments after publishing grades. This includes the following, what to not do and what to improve next time.
This teacher was outstanding, i loved how she responded back within a timely manner, she always gave me constructive comments that really helped. She was a great professor!
One thing that was hard having her as my teacher is I struggled a bit in her class with a few concepts and I feel I didn't get the help that was needed. I needed to zoom call her (different times) on her available time that states on her syllabus, but she wasn't either times which was upsetting, she wanted me to go to the writing center instead.
I really loved Diane! Her class was super accessible and easy to follow, with all instructions clearly laid out. She even gave me an opportunity for extra credit after I didn't have the grade I wanted. I think that she really cares about the success of her students and will do whatever she can to be accomodating.
really good professor. There were times when I needed an extension and as long as you communicate ahead of time and are honest, I will say this is a harder class and I would recommend only taking this with one other class because it is time consuming, and you have multiple essays that are worth a lot of points you work on throughout the quarter.
Coming in to this class, expect a few papers, scattered across the course. But with ample help in terms of outlining and being able to make corrections based off peers responses, the papers aren't so daunting. Would recommend this class to anyone in need of the credits, who is still trying to learn something new aswell.
The professor provides a lot of information and multiple ways to learn how to cite or write a research paper correctly. All assignments were very well spaced out so the class never felt overwhelming. Good communication and timely responses/grading.
this teacher was good I liked how there wasn't to many assignments. one week there was but they were little ones that you could finish very easily
I loved this class and thought it had a good format. I liked the use of discussion posts and when the assignments deadlines and due dates were!
This Professor has a very organized online class. The format of the class was clear and easy to understand, making the course relatively easy. There weren't very many assignments, but I think the class was still beneficial to my education. I will say that I had some trouble contacting the Professor at one point, but it was resolved.
Three major essays, a handful of quizzes and other assignments, but overall a very manageable course. The professor is kind and quick with grading/giving feedback on assignments. The class is very clear/outlined and it is easy to see what is due & when its due.
The professor provides amazing feedback in a timely matter and the workload is a good amount, but it is very manageable in this class.
Diane Elizabeth is the best professor. I would recommend her class to anyone who has a busy schedule.
The teacher taught well for online class and always offered help when needed just be warned it might take a day or two for a response from the professor. The professor was clear with messaging and had an organized canvas that was easy to follow. Everything in the class made sense and there was nothing confusing regarding instructions.
This class was not workload heavy and was pretty manageable. She provides good feedback and is really nice when you send her a message. The last essay was 6-8 pages but as long as you follow the guidelines you should be fine! It was not crazy difficult.
great feedback and not very hard workload.
She pay attention to details and is good teacher
Great class, very good structure as most assignments are due Sunday for the asynchronous course.
Diane is the best English professor I have ever had her instructions for all essays and assignments were really clear. She also gives AMAZING feedback on your essays to help you improve and also grades the essays fast. I would 100% recommend taking her class!!
Diane was always very clear in regards to the coursework. She was always very helpful and extremely punctual when answering questions.
The course is well organized with ample time for assignments, class is discussion based that allows interaction between peers even in the online course. Professor provides clear instructions with examples and chances to ask questions and your classmates respond, and the professor always responds in a timely manner. Easy extra credit available!
Amazing professor, truly cares about her students and is willing to work with you in the event that struggle with some assignments.
I loved this course only 3 papers and all with clear directions and good feedback. She has a weird grading system but as long as you do the work you will pass.
My professor was very fair and professional. I also enjoyed her feedback on papers.
Diane Elizabeth has a super easy course, she says it herself, this course only has basic material that we need to know assigned. There are only 3 papers, with plenty of time to complete each. She also gives really good feedback and is fair with grading!
I took her during summer and it was online. I don't normally fair well in online classes, so I was surprised that I did well. I would take again if needed, but I'm definitely glad its over.
I was online class so I didn't have many conversations, but they would give good feedback, gave us time to revise our essay's, and if something happened for example you got sick, they will give you an extension. They grade system is fair, and they think about all students.
Diane Elizabeth was a fantastic professor. I took an online English 102 course over the summer and learned a lot. She is a pretty strict grader, but given the resources you need to be able to do what is needed to get a good grade. The pace of the class is nice as well, you get a couple of things to do per week, and three weeks to write papers.
A flexible teacher that worked with me to submit my assignments when internet connection was not stable.
Loved this class! Was super flexible for a summer course. There are three essays and the time that was given to submit each assignment was enough. A lot of room for feedback and adjustment.
The coursework in this class is very easy to follow and is honestly the best structured English class I've taken. The difficulty only really applies to essays as there is lots of room for error and it's hard to make it perfect, but for the most part, it will take up a bit of your grade, but the majority comes from the assignments.
I had the most fantastic experience taking this class! Her Canvas page is organized perfectly, with clear explanations and some examples. Therefore, I was able to focus on learning. She responds to emails in a timely manner, and her detailed feedback helped me learn a lot.
Diane's class was a welcome change of pace after ENGL&101. She provides ample time to complete assignments and provides valuable feedback quickly. Highly recommend!
I took the class in summer and the work was pretty light mostly writing and researching for 3 essays one page, 4-5 page, 6-8 pages the first two being informative and the last being argumentative. You get a lot of time to write and research the essays usually a week to draft and sumbit for peer review then another for the final draft. Feedback good
What I liked most about this class was the flexibility to complete assignments ahead of time. Everything was organized clearly and consistently, allowing us to submit work anytime before the Sunday deadline, which I found helpful.
The course was well organized, which made it easy to follow and allowed for working ahead if you chose. Professor Elizabeth provided quick and helpful responses to questions, and grading was completed in a timely manner. This class will teach writing and research skills necessary in future courses.
What I liked most about this class was the flexibility to complete assignments ahead of time. Everything was organized clearly and consistently, allowing us to submit work anytime before the Sunday deadline, which I found helpful.
Workload was clear and relatively light but her grading is pretty tough. She'll knock down like 20 points for a improper citation which is crazy but there is some extra credit. You'll definitely have to work for that A
Professor Elizabeth provides clear instructions for each assignment. In my experience, if you follow instructions, you will end with a good grade. She provides feedback on each assignment to help you improve. There are expectations of peer review on many assignments. Assignments are due Sundays which is great for working students.
SUPER EASY class! Just do all the assignments and follow the rubric, and you will get an easy A! WAY easier than my high school (and middle school tbh) English classes -- essays don't need to be stellar, just meet requirements and double-check the rubric! Very kind professor, gives good feedback, would 1000% take again!
Something I liked about this class was the essay topics. It made it fun to find something I wanted to write about. You made it easy to find assignments and made the due dates clear. I would recommend this course to others because although it is an online class adding discussions made it feel like there was a connection with other classmates.
Great professor with easy to understand material.
I did not enjoy this class, but the professor made it bearable and it was necessary information that needed to be learned for college writing purposes.
Teacher Diane is a very good teacher and cares about her students to learn how to write a good essay. She gives all the tools, explanations and allows the connection writer, topic by letting the student to choose the topic.
She seems very chill and easy going, gives great and in depth feedback on assignments.
She does not teach, but mostly just posts content and grades. If you attempt to contact her with questions about writing mechanics, she will, by default, tell you to look it up yourself. Peer feedback is not sufficient for improving your paper to her standards, so be ready to visit the writing center often with detailed, specific questions.
This professor is very well with giving students the ability to learn and understand the material of the class Engl&102. She goes over very detailed critics when it comes to writing. I enjoyed having this professor.
I liked this class. Very easy and straight forward. Easiest online ive taken so far
English 102 with Diane Elizabeth is amazing for anyone who has a busy life and can't attend an in-person class. I would especially recommend this class to running start students who have a good understanding of English. By taking this class along with Brit Lit College in the High School, I got 10 English credits my senior year of high school! 10/10
This class was very fun and I learned a lot. The course work wasn't overwhelming and gave lots of room for diversity and creativity. Overall this professor is amazing and I would definitely recommend her class.
She was a fair teacher and class was easy to follow/complete work.
All the instructions and grading criteria are very easy to understand. There are examples posted on most assignments and all papers, showing how to complete them, which is very helpful as they are a great guide to follow! The assignments are always given more than enough time to complete them. I would definitely recommend this class and professor!
This class was easy to follow and understand. Diane Elizabeth clearly explains why you were given the grade you received on each assignment and I felt that the grading rubric was very reasonable. I liked that the papers in this class encouraged you to have personal connections and use your own voice.
The professor responds to emails quickly, provides clear instructions for all assignments, and provides feedback afterward. The workload was doable with other classes and work. There are a few extra credit options; I recommend you do it. I liked that Diane had each week free to start when you wanted, not having each week locked.
Class was not very hard, not a lot of homework is assigned. 3 essays total, and grading is pretty fair.
This class had a very manageable work load. With all the major writing assignment we had peer reviews. Giving us the chance to better our work before we submit for a final grade. This professor gives good feedback on why you missed points. Late work is given partial credit with communication prior to the deadline.
Fun to work with and very helpful and full of knowledge. Approachable and caring,
Instructor gives 3 essays throughout the quarter, discussion posts, and quizzes. Make sure you follow the rubric for the essays and you complete all your assignments. You'll do great if you do that!
There's only three papers throughout the class but weigh insanely heavy towards your grade. She gives very solid feedback and is open to any questions. Follow the instruction carefully and thoroughly if you strive to pass. Realest thing I could tell you is to read your essays VERY carefully and take advantage of the workshops A LOT.
All assignments and dates for the quarter are outlined in the syllabus. Workload is manageable with other classes as long as you're good at time management. Gives timely feedback on assignments. There's peer review workshops to help with essays. Also gives extra credit opportunities at the end of the quarter.
class is eng 102 The reason my grade is so poor, or not an A for this easy class is due to the teacher grading on essays while the grades are reasonable as of now the teacher doesn't give feedback on your essay before the final draft is due so what you get bad marks on, for example grammar, is unpreventable if u don't know what errors you're making
She is insanely flexible. I had a lot of things happen this semester and she was incredibly understanding. The work and material were also comprehensive and accessible.
This teacher provides clear instructions on the 3 main different essays involved in the course. The essays take up the majority of your time as the rest of the assignments are simple and easy quizzes. There are workshops for you to post your rough draft, in these workshops you and your peers essays are reviewed by one another.
This course was great! I really enjoyed the professor and the work given I would recommend taking this course. Diane was very professional and flexiable!
great class!
Good professor.
This teacher is very flexible, and easy to reach with any questions or concerns. Grading felt very tough at times, and minimal to no feedback was provided in grading comments, but very detailed feedback and explanations of mistakes were provided if you emailed her after the fact.
This class was pretty reasonable; there were three papers throughout the course and a couple of tests to show knowledge of writing formats. She is sweet and offers extra credit through doing extra work on discussion boards. Overall a great class!
Overall, this was a great course. It was beneficial for learning how to write research papers. Diane grades a little tough but her assignments are aligned to build on each other. This was helpful because you learned new things as you went which helped you for each paper. I would take her class again.
The course is somewhat easy just make sure that you carefully read and follow ALL of the guidelines. The essays are also the biggest assignments so the turnout of these essays plays a huge part in your final grade. The rest are quizzes, discussions, annotating instructions, and workshops.
This class was pretty easy overall, with a few quizzes, annotations, and discussions. Most of the grade comes from the essays, so it's important to read the guidelines carefully since the requirements are very specific.
Diane is effective in her teaching style. Easy to digest lessons mixed with quizzes and discussions take up half of the courses points, while the other half are from 3 essays, varying in length. Stay on top of your assignments and don't procrastinate writing your essays. I learned a lot and Diane responds quickly to questions.
This professor was overall good, the teaching style was really easy to follow and it was easy to convey the material clearly.
This was a great class! I enjoyed how the online class was set up and hearing Diane's feedback on assignments was very helpful. The assignments are broken up fairly, and the late work policy was very helpful with my changing work schedules. As long as we reach out before the official due date to give a heads-up on an assignment being late.
She is very clear about what assignments are due when. The class is fairly difficult which is why I wouldn't take it again but I wouldn't tell other students not to take it
The assignments are laid out very clearly, and she gives pretty clear feedback on almost all of them. This class doesn't require a ton of reading despite having to read through a few example papers. I would definitely take this class again!
Very good straightforward class, everything is there for you to do the work. Good class, not too hard, would definitely suggest.
This course is organized, and you will never be confused about what needs to be done. The course will require a lot of research, reading, and writing. If you enjoy those three things or are interested in learning more about how to be better at them, 100%, this course is for you. The professor is great with feedback, and you'll always have guidance.
If you take this class with this professor prepare for rereading forums to follow all requirements or you will be docked a few points or a lot. She does not read your papers and it is mostly your peers grading and vice versa for theirs. Although it was a challenging class, I have learned a lot about how to properly make a research paper.
There were clear expectations, and everything was posted in advance. I liked the flexibility to choose our own topic for the essay. BE prepared to write a lot. There were four essays to write in this class and the last one was 6-8 pages long.
Professor Elizabeth is a good Professor, I would highly recommend taking her class. She uses a lot of videos and then quizzes in order to help you understand so that you can apply what you learned in summative assignments. She gives good feedback, which is helpful if you make mistakes and want to avoid them.
Diane's 102 class was fairly easy, just have to put the effort in. Some of the feedback I received on a few assignments wasn't that clear which is the only gripe I had with this class. She's a tough grader, so don't expect to get an A unless you possess some incredible writing skills.
I think the course does a great job of balancing the need for essential academic skills with great support. The assignments are focused on what's necessary, and the feedback you provide is constructive and timely, which really helps in improving. The feedback being fast showing that you care about students work and improvement.
Course was designed great, as it was easy to follow. I wish the instructor gave more direct feedback when asked about assignments before they're due.
Diane was very responsive and pleasant to work with. I had some technical issues that she helped me with. and I felt she genuinely wanted me to do well. I cannot imagine finding a more attentive or caring teacher. The course was effective and we were given the opportunity to get extra credit throughout the course, which I appreciated very much.
The class itself isn't too hard and the expectations are pretty straightforward, but I struggled with were the expectations of the paper, and the feedback she gave and the turn around time to edit your paper and get a better grade for it. Overall, if you don't need to take her class I wouldn't
The class was easy to navigate, and the workload wasn't heavy. There are technically four essays throughout the course (one is an introduction essay), but if you keep up, they won't take long. Don't be stressed about the grading; you'll be fine if you meet all requirements.
I would recommend taking this class, the topic is mental and physical health and you get to choose your own topics to write each essay about as long as it relates back to that. The only thing negative I'd say is you don't get super specific feedback on your essays and you get marked down if you don't have critiques for other students work.
Tough grader.
Professor Elizabeth surprised me when she graded the first essay and marked it up and sent me the mark ups of where I went wrong and how I could improve. She gave clear feedback and responded to emails quickly. There were only 2 essays for this class one was informative and other was argumentative, she allowed me to switch the topic for one essay.
communicating is very easy and helpful. so if you ever need help, just ask! she won't judge.
I loved working with her, and she was very to reach when I had problems! she is a very good professor!
Lack of feedback on bigger essays that could've helped us improve for the next part of the assignment. Relies on students to provide constructive feedback for each discussion. Not replying to other students can cost 30 percent of the assignment(s) grade or get a zero on a few. The rubric is non-existent, it doesn't go off of points.
The professor designs the assignments to ensure the success of her students. Definitely recommend this professor!
The professor herself is great and very nice, there are 3 big essays you write and are given plenty of time to do them. She mainly has other students grade each others work which I don't really agree with, and there was not a ton of professor based feedback. Otherwise the class was good
Very communicative professor, which is a very good thing. Professor gives time in between each assignments. Grading rubrics are always posted which is super helpful.
was a great English 102 class I would take it again
I enjoyed this professor's class. She is responsive and helpful in all regards.
I would say that the class in general is easier than most. I will point out that you won't get feedback from Diane before it's graded and must use your classmates feedback which may not always be reliable for grading. The class isn't a whole lot of learning new information more so reinforcing the knowledge that you have to do what's required.
Easy to understand what she wants from students, straightforward, flexible and respectful. Substantive without feeling overwhelming, really helpful resources and directions for homework/discussions/reading. Would absolutely recommend to anyone, but especially those with a big workload from other classes as you can prioritize what you need to do.
She is a great teacher, for students who like to just stick to themselves and get through college while getting decent grades and still having time for a busy schedule it was easy. Make sure that you do solid work on the essays and you'll be good to go.
This was a great online class, I never felt stressed out, overall it was good.
Great class. I was able to learn a lot through feedback on assignments and improved greatly. I would recommend this class, very respectable workload and grading.
Great class with lots of flexibility and clear expectations. The professor provides helpful resources and gives specific feedback that really helps you improve. Communication is kind and encouraging, and responses are always quick. I would definitely recommend this class to anyone who wants to become a better writer.
Didn't give much feedback after rough drafts most of the feedback you get if from classmates.
I took their online class, and it was really convenient. There were no mandatory online Zoom meetings or whatever. You could work at your own pace from home. Professor answered my questions every time I reached out and the grading was clear. The schedule for assignments wasn't overwhelming.
ChatGPT is your worst enemy in this class. It's best to use this AI tool for brainstorming and instead, keep practicing your writing skills. The long route is better than any shortcut.
Good organization of the whole course.
Expectations and instructions are clear and as long as you stay on top of your work you'll do good
She is very nit-picky when it comes to grading, but her rubrics are extremely vague, making it hard to meet her expectations. She accused me of cheating but didn't have evidence and I was not allowed a chance to defend myself. She docks points even the smallest thing, like an incorrectly placed comma. I am an A student. Filing a grievance.
this professor sucks
Prof. Elizabeth wasn't a bad or good professor. The assignments she gave out were easy, but the essays were difficult because the rubric wouldn't include anything specific, just format styling and page requirements. It would be an improvement if she didn't abbreviate her requirements on the rubric.
Very vague rubric with nothing to go off of terrible grader if just one thing from your assignment is incorrect the whole grade goes down instantly I feel very unsupported by this professor please do not take any of her classes
She was absolutely amazing I can't recommend her enough!
accused so many students of using ai and then refused to give ANY reasoning why she thought so. threatened to fail me if I didn't leave her class more than once. when she doesn't like a student, she does everything for them to leave. had to go to the dean to pursue action and was switched to a different prof. spare yourself and dont take her class.
I would definitely recommend this class for English 102. The work isn't easy and it is required for you to do your very best work to get a good grade, but it is very manageable and worth it.
As long as you read all instructions and do the work you won't have a hard time. I didn't feel that I learned much (there were no lectures or textbook) but I did get practice writing essays and critiquing. She wasn't very willing to answer questions and would mostly direct you to look up the answers online. But, the instructions were clear.
Everything on this course was very clear and straight forward. The work load wasn't too much but it also wasn't too much
This teacher accused many students of using AI without any proof. She threatened me several times and forced me to drop the class or else she would fail me. She went out of her way to make life difficult for students. My quarter is completely messed up now, and I will be taking action about this. Don't take her classes under any circumstance.
This professor was the best English professor I have come across, not biased at all and respects ALL viewpoints. I wrote about some controversial topics, and she totally graded me fairly. 100% recommend and will try to take another class with her again.
I had previously dropped English 102 before, the professor I previously had provided the most extensive work for an online class. With that being said, it bogged down how much I actually took away. Professor Elizabeth did a great job with the structure of her class while providing content that was necessary and nothing that was too over the top.
This profferer was great and very organized. I just feel like rubrics and grading could've been a bit clearer in my opinion.
Instructions are super clear.
There are a few opportunities for extra credit during this course.
This course could definitely be a fit for some, but for me, it was difficult when I needed clarification. Minimal communication was used from the professor, which did not work for me as I need maximum instructions. This professor did however, offer rubrics, making it clear what was expected of us each assignment.
Super helpful. Whenever I would get feedback from her, it would help with create ideas that I haven't thought about. Especially when I got feedback when I was making my argumentative paper.
You do have to do a solid amount of research and really learn the APA format!
She was very helpful when needed and gave great feedback. Also graded quickly so you can see how you're doing.
Really good teacher, very fair grading. Simple assignments, no busy work, nothing that feels like a waste of time. Really only 2 papers that take any significant amount of effort. The first 2 papers are a breeze, pretty much 1 page each. Teacher responds to questions and gives clear feedback.
This class is pretty straightforward, and instructions are simple; however, rubrics are not detailed, and she is a tough grader. In one assignment, I missed a small detail, and five points were taken off. Taking off a good chunk of points for small details does make a big impact, even with extra credit. If you take this class, focus 100%.
Great professor
If you are taking multiple classes at a time I would not take this class, there were a lot of discussions that took a lot of my time, especially because no one would post their reply until Sunday the due date so I would have to wait forever to reply to people.
The professor's constructive feedback wasn't that good. It seems like she got lazy when she was reading my paper.
This class has helped me improve a lot in my writing skills as well as using APA and MLA formats. I believe the workload was reasonable. More feedback would have been helpful, and some of the rubrics were a little vague. I wasn't always sure how to meet the requirements for assignments. The instructor was kind and helpful whenever I had questions.
Make sure there are little to no grammar/ spelling mistakes on essays. They are pretty nitpicky when it comes to those types of mistakes and I lost quite a bit of points there. The rubrics are also not detailed at all. But, quick grader so there wasn't any sort of unknown, it was pretty clear how you were doing in the class.
She is super nice and the class is easy. It's my favorite English class that I've taken because there's no required books and you can choose what you want to write your essay about. Definitely recommend.
She is a great Professor, there are three essays you will have to complete and some small assignments throughout. One thing to note is that these assignments are related to the essay you are writing at the time and will give you all of the tools you need to be successful. She has very clean and clear expectations and gives good feedback.
You'll write three essays and those essays all have assignments that come before them. These assignments are going to help you write these essays. She grades fair and has clear expectations. She will usually respond to questions within 24 hours.
A fair professor with reliable grading and feedback. Assignment info is to-the-point and uncomplicated. In ENG&102, there's lots of student choice offered.
Diane is great if you think feedback would be helpful for you as a writer. The workload wasn't overwhelming and I feel like I learned a lot.
Amazing teacher!
They were a great professor but there was a ton of reading and test after every chapter. You do get extra credit opportunities and unlimited redoes for those tests though.
Very unfair grading process that devalued my own work as a student. Accused me of AI use without any proof all because it "sounded AI" despite me sending proof of drafts and my edit history. Do not recommended if you try your best to make your writing sound professional or polished. Received very vague and unhelpful feedback on well graded work.
This teacher constantly accuses of AI use without true evidence. I did not use AI and was accused of it on multiple assignments based off of “suspicion” with no actual evidence. The only way maybe to get around this is to write unprofessional but then you still might get a bad grade for no effort. Wouldn't recommend.
This professor's teaching style is relatively lax. There are clear instructions and guidelines, but I generally got a lot of freedom on topic and style of assignments. I found that the material was conveyed clearly and any questions were answered completely.
I really felt seen and valued in this class. I feel like my professor was kind and understanding of when I was confused. She also made sure to help out all her students to the best of her capability.
Overall a great teacher.
She is a fantastic teacher. Her teaching is great and very interactive. Time goes by very fast when in class. She is very understanding and will grade one according to their efforts.
Probably the worst class i have ever taken. DO NOT TAKE if you value your life.
Only reason she has good ratings is because there is an extra credit assignment to rate her
Has a strict no electronics policy for fear that we use AI (Makes us quote AI anyways). Problem: all our papers are to be submitted online. This makes it hard to add our quotes when we can't have them in front of us when writing. The class was mental health focused cause she said "not everyone will go into ELA" despite it being a college ELA class.
If you dont have a religion, get one and pray.
Her grading is very simple and she gives great examples for all the assignments. There is a few quizzes, but most have unlimited attempts. She is very understanding about due dates. You can only write your narratives in class which is super easy as well. Gives good feedback and cares about students writing. Put in effort and you will do fine.
Diane's teaching style definitely fit my style. She shows us what to do and helps when we need. She's a great professor I really enjoyed her and I hope she is my professor again. VERY FLEXIBLE
If you don't wanna try at all don't take her classes as she makes the classes in person to fight against the use of AI. If you wanna just let AI do all your paper writing don't sign up for this class, if you're not lazy and actually do wanna learn then I would recommend this class as she is nice, and is very knowledgeable about what she teaches.
She is an AMAZING teacher! She always has a rubric and clear expectations for your writing. She provides great feedback and offers peer review so you can revise your rough drafts. The only part that was an issue for some was that you had to write the main chunks of your paper in class. She's so sweet and understanding and also offers extra credit.
Very kind and helpful, very responsive by email. Just show up and do the work and she'll give great feedback!
She is very helpful and sweet! Don't be shy to ask her questions.
Diane is a super caring person, and I found class time really engaging. You do need to show up for the in-person writing components, but they're fairly simple. Great class if you enjoy writing
