She is an expert on auditing field, has both knowledge and experience. She cares for the students and wants them to learn the most. Exams are not easy but she is willing to help you.

She is a very helpful teacher and really cares about how her students do on tests. I would certainly take another class with her!

Like others have said, she definitely moves quickly through the material, but then again, it is your responsibility to be prepared to learn. If you pay attention, take notes, and ask questions when you don't understand, you'll be fine. It's a tough class, but Ms. Sturek is willing to help you out. Prof. Sturek is very professional, helpful, courteous, and fair. Go to all of her classes, study, and ask her questions if you need help. Follow that advice and you'll get a good grade. She will also hold a large study session right before the final exam for students that need help (literally just a few minutes before it takes place).

Ms. Sturek is a good professor. This class is fast paced, so make sure you don't get behind. Her slides and notes are very helpful, but I found ALEKS to be the best learning tool for this course. Still, Ms. Sturek is very professional and makes the class entertaining. Very good speaker.

She was also really helpful outside of class, i attended her office hours numerous times to clear up any problems i was having.

ALEKS is definitely the best learning tool for this class but make sure you attend EVERY class, you get extra credit for doing all of the quizzes and she only counts top 5 of 7 quizzes. Attend class, spend an hour or two reviewing notes/aleks before tests and you'll be fine.

Prof. Sturek teaches more than half the BUS-A 100 sections at IU-Indy for a reason: She knows her stuff, and she knows how to get it pounded into your head, and is a reasonably entertaining lecturer. Her use of the ALEKS online HW system will really drive the material into your head (even if it makes you want to defenestrate your laptop/monitor).

Prof. S. really knows what she's talking about. This class is fast paced, so it's easy to fall behind, but Prof. S. offers free tutoring hours. As long as you do all the recommended example problems, you should be fine.

Good professor. Material is difficult at first, but spend time reading the text book before class and studying the material. She covers the material very quickly in class, which can get a bit overwhelming. Take a second look at it, and it will make sense. Also, use her study hours as a resource. She is very willing to answer individual questions.

Prof. Sturek does a great job explaining the basics of accounting. She covers a lot in a short a,ount of time, so it can feel rushed. But if you come to class prepared with questions and use ALEKS as a study tool, the class is very rewarding.

Prof. Sturek's lectures are extremely helpful come test time. DO NOT get the book if you plan on attending every lecture! Attendance is not required, BUT she does daily quizzes, which you will ALWAYS get 100% on! If you complete every quiz, she gives you some extra credit as well! Go to every class and practice on ALEKS at home to get an easy A!

Without her, I probably would not have passed. She is into accounting and always willing to help (ex. night before exam chat on oncourse). Take her, you will not regret

I thought Sturek made the class very easy, But I heard a lot of people got bad grades. Probably their fault though. The lectures and text are very informative, You get to do quizzes in groups, and there are plenty of tutors out there, It's an easy A and Sturek cares about her students.

This professor is very good. She also seems to be passionate/knowledgeable about what she teachers. The quizzes are in class and she lets you work on them with others, so it is possible to ace them all. The first exam was easy, but the final cumulative one was a lot more difficult. Studying is extremely important but book is not necessarily needed.

If you go to class and pay attention to what she is saying she makes it about as easy as possible. She gives you practice problems that end up being about half of the test questions. Great professor, actually one of my favorites. Very helpful and one of the nicest people you will ever meet

I took the honors version, and highly recommend it. I had a lot of fun in this class. This class may have been easy for me, because I took accounting in high school. She is super nice! The class is only once a week for 12 weeks. There is a quiz each week and a midterm and a final.

Prof. Sturek is probably the best accounting professor we have at IUPUI now that Prof. Martin is gone. She makes everything as clear as possible and is extremely helpful. You will have to work for your grade though.

Hands down, one of the tougher classes, but she pushes you for a reason. Keep up on readings and homework b/c there is a lot of it but it pays off when it comes time for the tests, I promise! Don't underestimate them. This class is 100% the reason I passed the Audit section of the CPA exam on the first try. She's togh but super nice and helpful!

She is an amazing teacher. Whenever you have a question, she will help you out. She encouraged students to ask questions. Every class there is a quiz though.

Diane is a great professor. She'll go out of her way to help you, and makes sure you understand. I truly enjoyed the class, though it was hard and fast paced you do learn a lot. Keep up on all homework, and ask to attend both of her lectures it'll really help (class only meets once a week).

She is an awesome professor, A100 is a difficult course but she makes it tolerable. I bought the book and did not use it a single time. If you take all 7 quizzes you can get extra credit at the end. I do wish she gave study guides for exams though because I never really knew what to expect on them.

There aren't a lot of assignment, which sucks in a class like accounting. She's helpful, and always offers her office hours. You definitely have to be prepared to study though.

Wish we could rate on more things. Sturek is awesome. She cares so much about the profession, and about her students' success. If you don't appreciate her than frankly you shouldn't pursue accounting because she is a great rep for the profession. The project I her class is a great learning experience and you should give extra effort.

Sturek is a great teacher who does her job well and will always stop to explain something if you need it. Show up to class and show up on time. Go to study sessions and ask for help when you need it. Accounting can be difficult by itself but she does everything she can to make it better. Highly recommend! (Also don't buy the textbook)

I love Prof. Sturek. If you take her A100 class and actually listened to her lectures, you will find Financial Accounting a lot easier. I would definitely take her again if she teach some of my future class!

Professor Sturek did an excellent job teaching, she was usually available and ready to help her students. Overall the class was simple, just read the book and do the ALEKS homework.

Professor Sturek is a great teacher. She does go fast through the material but that is only because the class meets once a week for an hour and 15 minutes and also because the class ends about a month early in the semester. She really cares about her students; she goes out of her way for review sessions and to answer any questions. DON'T BE LATE.

Overall excellent instruction. Related material to real life, fairly warns students about the difficulty of the material/subject matter, clearly cares about the students and gives some pretty handy tips for the CPA exam.

Terrific professor who genuinely enjoys teaching and what she does for her occupation. Take honors A100 because the only difference is a small assignment which will help you with your final. Whether majoring in accounting or not, this course will help you with your finances in the future.

Prof Sturek is one of the kindest professors I've had. Any A100 class is challenging because they're short and only once a week, but she provides you with all the materials you need to pass. She's very willing to help anyone who needs it.

Dont understand why she gets so much flak on here. I thought she was really nice and really cared about her students success. A100 isnt an easy class but she definitely makes it as easy as she possibly can. Its only a 12 week course, so you cant afford to miss a class. But if you do have to miss, she is willing to help. Would recommend.

The problem here I think is that people hate accounting, not Sturek. She's probably the best option you've got for intro accounting and provides you with a lot of examples to go back on later. You have to attend every class though because there's a quiz at the end of each. Also only tests are midterm and final, so you have to stay ahead to do well.

Great professor who really knows how to help her students focus and understand the material. Although she may go through a lot of material at once, she makes sure she explains every concept thoroughly and answers any questions students might have nicely.

If you don't understand accounting, it doesn't matter what professor you take for A100, lol. She's a really good choice for audit, she knows what she's talking about and her lectures are very easy to follow. As long as you do the work she's easy to please.

If youre taking this class with no background of accounting goodluck. The prof was super nice & helpful as possible but the material was difficult and confusing to learn. & be prepared to try to teach yourself outside of class. U have to do good on the exams because there is only 2 and barely any other grades except quizzes & 2homework assignments

Professor Sturek is fantastic for auditing and assurance! She gets a lot of hate because of A100 but if you're an accounting major her class isn't bad. Be prepared to study! Her exams are challenging but if you complete her study guides & do the connect problems you will be prepared. She cares about her students and is extremely knowledgeable.

This women is simply amazing. She's so nice and caring. She was the only professor for A100 so I was scared but she makes sure to walk around class, so you can ask her questions. The class itself is tough but I feel like she explains it well. There are 2 tests so you have to make sure to do well on both. There's a quiz after every class.

THE best professor I've ever had. Explains things really well and gives in class quizzes every week that you can discuss with peers. Allowed one 3x5 notecard during tests and offers lots of help before them. Really great personality as well and very light work load. Gives opportunities for makeup quizzes but attend the classes to understand better.

Professor Sturek is such a great teacher. She made sure people had the opportunity to ask questions on topics they didn't understand and provided availability to meet one-on-one for extra help. We have in-class quizzes every week, but you can work on them with friends. The only downside is that there is little homework to buffer the two exams.

This is the best professor I have had during my stay at IU. Guys she actually cares about you and will teach you concept but you have to pay attention to details and she is very much patient if you ask her questions she answers. The classroom is more of a discussion oriented class and she will also entertain you with her songs and stories!

I personally enjoyed this professor! Her teaching style might not suit all students but she provides resources that give you the ability to do well in class, you just have to put in the effort. It is also very important to participate in class because she asks very engaging questions that allow students to fully grasp concepts.
