This was a good class. She was very into what she was teaching and she held lecture reviews every Monday night. If you show up and pay attention you will do well in class. She is funny at times too. Great class

Dr. Wood is very passionate about what she teaches - she gives review sessions on her own time! She also does a great job of using visual aides & applications. The class is still challenging - study hard!

Dr. Wood is the best professor I've had. She seems to love what she's teaching and cracks us up all the time, just don't ****her off :) She helps us whenever she can and repeats herself over and over until we get it (if we ask). Class is harder, but alot more fun than Trautwein.

I absolutely loved this class. I'm not even very good at biology but I thought this class was great. Dr Wood seemed very interested in what she was teaching and showed concern for her students.

Dr.Wood will help you really truly understand the concepts and will go above and beyond what a normal teacher would go through. She keeps the class interested all the way through with humor too! Definitely be in class and never miss.

Tests straight from her notes, no book! That's a plus for me! Breaks everything down so you can understand it, and the labs are easy. Very funny and interesting!

Dr. Wood knows her material and is very helpful to her students but she also isn't going to do it for you or make it easy. Just work hard and you'll do fine.

She's really interesting. It's mainly lecture and note-taking (we never really used the book), but she's hilarious. Just do the work.

Very good teacher. She really gets into what she is teaching, and is good at getting you into it as well. The class is pretty hard, but you most likely won't be taking it unless you need it for major, in which case you oughta be interested in the class material anyways, and then you shoudl be fine. Dr. Wood is a great teacher! She motivated me to try harder, and in the end I did. Her tests are directly from the notes in class and even when you think she is rambling, she will ask a question about it on the test. GO TO SI if you do not understand it! It is a hard class cause the material is difficult, but just give it your all.

Great teacher, really wants to make sure her students learn it, not just memorize. The tests are hard matching and short answer/essay, so make sure you take really good notes. If you have questions ASK, she loves input

I took her for 113 and 114. Alot of people say that you should plan on taking this class twice, but that's not true. Go to class, take notes, study, you will do good. She makes the class very interesting and knows what's she is talking about. If you need help, ASK! She will totally help you out. She's amazing! I wish she would teach all my classes!

She is very flexable. She doesnt ask to much of you. Going into a human anatomy class you should know that it is going to be difficult. If you study and participate in class you should do good. if you dont understand something she said she is willing to reword it, state it again or give a real life example. If at all possible get her for anatomy

Show up to every lecture, take good notes, go to the S.I sessions. Take this class very seriously. She is an excellant teacher and keeps her office door wide open.

Dr. Wood knows how to keep you interested in the field of biology, and her class. She is a very intelligent woman who involves her students as much as possible in the discussion. I give her a thumbs up.

AMAZING teacher! yes she is hard, but this is college. you are going to have to study at some point in time. she is very nice and will always help you when u need it. pay attention and atleast act interested and she will always be there to help. she doesnt want to see you fail-- so ask questions if u dont understand...:) great teacher!!

As long as you take notes in class, pay attention, and study EXTREMELY hard, you'll do fine in her class. This class just takes more time than most other classes! She's the only person I'd ever take for this class, though!

Dr. Woods is an amazing teacher! She's not easy but A/P I isn't an easy class. Show up everyday and pay attention. Her notes are what you need to study for the test. Overall she is an amazing teacher and I recommend her for anybody!

Dr. Wood is a great teacher!! She is really funny! The only problem I had is when she went too fast and she stresses a lot of things that are not on the test! Just make sure you know everything from notes and dont focus on anything in particular because its not guaranteed to be on the test!

Her class is tough. She wants you to know all of the material and gives a quite a bit of notes. Can be funny at times. But tests are fairly hard. You need to study a lot.

Dr. Wood is a ridiculously amazing teacher. Go to class, sit up close... DO NOT sit in the back...don't kiss her butt either... study, study, study and you will be fine. I went into this class never imaging I could get an A, but she makes you want to prove to her that you can.

WONDERFUL teacher!!! She is very intimidating at first but is not at all and very approachable. If you ever need help she will explain anything over & over until you understand. To be quite honest I have never had a better teacher..tests: STUDY STUDY STUDY and you will do fine.

Wood is an excellent teacher! As long as you listen to everything that she talks about in class, take good notes, and study everyday you will do fine. I was doing fair at the beginning of the semester, and Wood went out of her way to get me a tutor, and now im doing great! She will go out of her way for you!!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND D. WOOD!!!!

Good teacher, but extremely hard class. STUDY STUDY STUDY... DONT TAKE A FULL LOAD (15 hours MAX... and make sure they arent all going to need alot of work... You could easily spend hours on AP a week.

not very helpful. tests sometimes cover things she BARELY went over in class. going to study sessions are EXTREMELY IMPORTANT. if you do not go to them you are more likely to fail, its the only thing getting me through the class. i reccomend taking mcnew instead.

Wood is an excellent professor but a little intimidating. She's willing to help if you need it and the study sessions help. She really knows what she's talking about and it's hilarious when she gets on her "soapbox".

Wood is my advisor and I love her.  She is a very hardcore person and sticks to her guns.  She's also willing to fight for you should u get screwed over by another professor or something of that matter with the college. She gives me inspiration to get through school with me being a single mother with little help but from myself.

Dr. Wood is an aweseome professor. Her class is difficult but not impossible. Attending class is in your best interest because taking good notes is crucial. Hands down the best teacher ever! Some people are scared to take Dr. Wood and you should be scared if you wont work your butt off. Test Are crazy hard but you will know your stuff in the end.

Dr.wood is an amazing teacher. If you're not willing to work hard to make the grade then drop out of college all together but if you are in college to learn then take dr.wood. at the end of her course you will have learned alot. Exams are from her lecture but using the book is helpful at times. Study like you should and you will make an A.

She is the best teacher I have ever had. It is imparative that you attend every class and study extremely hard. She does things in her own way and she is very specific. You will live and breathe A&P, but by the end you will be so grateful for all you learned.

She is the best teacher I've ever had. She knows what she is talking about in every topic from insects to human anatomy. She gives her all and expects the same from you. If you take a Wood class, you'll come out knowing way more than when you went in, but studying frequently is essential.

Dr. Wood knows her stuff and she wants you to know it too. I took Anatomy I and II with her. Her test are extremely hard,keeping up on studying is key. It's a hard class no matter who's the teacher but I definitely learned the most from Dr. Wood.Ask questions if you don't understand something she might make you feel stupid but she'll help you.

I have been in college 5 years now and Dr. Wood was the hardest teacher I've had. She pushes her students to do their best and she is an excellent teacher. I would take her class over any other teacher any day. She is tough, but when you are finished with her class, you'll know the subject matter.

Her lectures are great but her grading is very hard! If you want an A she looks for perfection in her papers and if you want an A don't take from her cz you will end up with a B!

Wood is a very good teacher and knows her stuff. The tests require you to regurgitate your notes and you must write it how she said it. hardest class I have ever taken. you have to constantly study throughout the week. I would look elsewhere.

Took BI551 with her (Conservation Camp) and it was an amazing experience. The work was tough, but I loved every minute of it! Dr. Wood is an amazing person and I feel so lucky to have met her!

I didn't like Dr. Wood at first, but when I got to AP 2 I'm glad I had her. Lectures are interesting and she definitely knows her stuff. She is a tough grader and her tests are hard, so you have to work for it. She has high expectations but you will learn more from her than any other teacher and actually retain the knowledge. Take her if you can!

Old school mentality meaning you better be ready to shift into top gear and grind it out. Her class is tough because it's supposed to be. Most of the people taking this class are nursing students meaning you have to know your stuff. She might be a smartass but if you show her you're willing to learn, she'll put in the extra effort to help you.

Dr. Wood is probably one of the best teachers I've ever had! You must put forth the effort required in order to pass but it is not impossible! I had no experience in A&P going in but I've maintained an A because I ask questions and do the work required to keep the A. She is hilarious! Her lectures are ORAL so be sure to take good notes. A++ teacher

Dr. Wood is a great professor and is organized. Shes very welcoming with any questions that you have outside of class; her door is always open. You have to be willing to study hard and prepare early to be successful. She has high expectations for her students, and those expectations can be achieved if youre willing to put in the time and effort.

Wood is hard, no doubt. But, if you show up to lecture and attend the optional SI sessions, you should be able to pass with an A or B. She is a hard grader and you need to know the material forwards and backwards to have good grades. Personal Experience: The average was around 70% with the highest a 98% and lowest a 14%.

Her courses were by far the toughest courses I took in undergrad but the most rewarding. She really knows her stuff & you'll have to work hard for a good grade. I'd recommend her if you are willing to put in the time and effort to really learn the material. If you're trying to get an A by not actually putting in work, she's not the prof. for you.

It's only about half way through the semester and Dr. Wood is one of the best professors I've ever had. She doesn't care about your grade, she cares about the quality of your knowledge. This class is HARD work, but if you can't handle this class you probably need to rethink being a science major. Get used to professors who don't spoon feed you A's.

Dr. Wood is an awesome teacher that is very approachable, although she may not seem like it. Her door is always open for questions and she will sit and talk to you if she has the time. Her class grade was based only on the test, so if you did not do well on the test you would fail. Go to the lectures and you will be fine.

Going into Dr. Wood's class, I was nervous because I had heard all about how hard her class was going to be. I will admit, it was hard. But she makes sure that you know the material. If you're a pre-nursing major, I highly recommend taking Dr. Wood's class. It will help you tremendously in your nursing classes.
