I hate math even more now.She did not teach, she expected us to know everything
I liked her style of teaching. She's impersonal, but clear and to the point
Moves really fast. If yous suck at math don't take her class
she moves along at a good pace. Just pay attention and you won't have a problem
She went too fast in class and the quizes and test were difficult.
Very Fast!
Very fast! Tests are fairly difficult. Cannot understand notes.
For the love of God, please take this class from an adjunct.
She's a very nice teacher, and teaches very well. Take her or Paul Stephenson.
Fast, but if you go to class you can do alright
Tests are hard. nice person. have to go to class.
She's the devil... Extremely hard.........
She is a very good teacher. It's an easy class as long as you go EVERY day!
class can get hard but she is very thourough, friendly & always willing to help!
face paced, so go to class... she's very willing to help if you have trouble tho
Devil??? No way...she's a stats goddess!!!
Very clear, explains everything so you don't have to read that horrid textbook!
she was really nice, and explained things so that we didnt have to read the book
goes fast, but will always wait if people have questions, good teacher
Very nice, always willing to help you. Can move fast sometimes.
will go out of her way to help you. fast paced class. do work=good grade

thanks for nothing!
she was alright. good teacher. gave study sheets "yeah"
Lectures are wonderful, and if you go to class you will get good grade!
Have to go to EVERY class or you will get behind quick! Easy if you pay attenti
had lots of tricky questions on the tests and quizes, besides that good
Thought she needed to lighten up and allow for some error in her assignments.
not too much work, is helpful, is nice...a little boring at times, but good prof
Easy class if you pay attention. Presents info clearly. Recommended.
Don't bother buying the book unless you like to review. Don't buy the small book either, look on a neighbor's! Easy if you pay attention and go to EVERY class and take good notes.
great person. easy to talk with!
Good teacher. Presents information clearly and is very helpful. Gives alot of quizes and other assignments so all your grade doesnt count on the tests. Recommended
Good all around. Do homework helps on the many quizes. Helpful anytime. Nice. Needs to loosen up.
Great prof, clear, loosens up out of class. Assigns a lot of homework, really wants you to understand.
Nice lady, hard grader, take an esier STATs prof. Lots of quizzes, but difficult. Tests hard, not enough eextra credit.
She is the most annoying prof I have ever had. She repeats as she is writing in the same mono tone pitch she told you before she wrote it. The exam problems are 20 times harder than the actual class. The worst prof I have had here.
Not clear at all. Does not help you out at all. She gives notes slooowly as she is writing it on the board. The tests are 10 times harder than whats going on in class.
She gives homework that she doesn't take credit for, and spends all classes going over worksheets, too fast for you to try it yourself before she does it. Not good for tests, help, or staying awake. Way too monotonous and uninteresting.
Pretty easy class, but she wasn't very helpful or understanding when I had to miss 2 days of class under doctor's orders, and wouldn't tell me what I missed. Other than that she was helpful, nice, and fairly easy.
Probably one of the least effective profs that I have had at GVSU. She flew through the material way to fast and breezed over terminology as well. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS WITH HER!
She is really nice and always suggests for you to go to her office hours. Ask a lot of questions she will always answer and it is always more helpful for you that way!
She is a very nice teacher and always ready to help. If you attend class and do the homework problems, it is really easy to get a good grade. She is also very willing to help whenever you may need help.
HORRIBLE teacher. Makes exams too long and doesn't make up for so many points lost that could have been accounted for if alloted time or a shorter exam was given. Very unwilling to other suggestions to make up points lost to HER negligence.
I love this professor. The way she lectures, makes everything understandable. Make sure to actually do the homework problems that she doesn't take credit for and to go over the hand-outs before the test. If you do, you will do just fine, just make an effort. I would definitely recommend her.
Does a good job of summarizing the material from the book. If you go to class every day and copy everything she writes on the board you'll have a set of notes better than the book. Always willing to help in her office. Tends to make exams too long for the time allowed.
She is cool peoples...the only thing is..you will have a quiz every friday..and the time allowed isnt that long..so its best to get there early and get at it. She writes a lot of stuff on the board..so basically copy all that and study and you will be alright. Easy class if you pay attention.
I can't believe this woman is allowed to teach. Makes it feel like she's out to get students with her tricky questions and VERY long exams. Doesn't budge on asjusting exams if you didn't finish it. Want a good prof.? Siehling, Gabrosek and Hong are the only ways to go.
Mixed feelings on this professor. Classes are alright. Exams can be tricky. She is always open to help you out but will not tell you the answer directly. Has you go back and figure it out yourself which on a whole is a good thing. This is an alright professor.
Very neat and very organized. It's easy to take clear notes in this class and you know from day one what is expected of you. I thought the SPSS assignments were a little pointless and frusturating.
Kind of a hard grader, but her lectures were very clear and well-organized. Very good at explaining concepts. Workload was pretty light. Tests could be a little tricky, but weren't bad. She puts a lot of work into teaching, and has a knack for it anyways. I loved taking this class with her. Overall, I'd give Reischmen an A+. She's a great teacher!
I thought prof Reischmen was a great prof. Her exams weren't that bad if you studied and she taught the subject extremely welland clearly. Everything you need to know is in your notes and on the handouts. I got an A in the class by going to class, doing the homework from the book and by studying a little. Great prof, take her if you can.
I absolutely loved this prof. Stats can be tricky, but she is very clear, organized, and extremely willing to work with you. Her lectures were complete, made sense, and the workload was very managable. Keep up with the handouts and some hw problems, and you'll do fine.
I don't know if I got stuck with a different Dianne but I don't agree with the rest of you. She's probably one of the most dull teachers I've ever had. I find it hard to pay attention and not fall asleep in her class because we the exact same thing everyday. The class is easy but she needs to work on getting the class more involved.
The class isnt bad overall if you can stay awake. She's very willing to help but is pretty quiet and mellow during class.
I loved this teacher. The best one I have had. She was very organized, some may say dull but she was so clear that it was impossible not to understand. You knew what to expect from the beginning.
All business here. She doesn't talk with the class or try to relate to us at all, but she teaches Stats well.
I was very happy with how professor Reischman taught STA 215. She isn't the most interesting teacher, but she is clear with each lesson and teachs you through using examples which is how I learn best. I would recommend her to anyone who has to take 215.
She is a good teacher but if you have her early in the morning you might as well not go to class because you will fall asleep anyway. She tells you exactly what you need to know but is just really boring! There's a bit of code writing that you do but you should get used to it - especially if you're a CS or IS major =]
Really nice and clear, maybe a little boring and comes off as she doesn't care, but if you go to her office hours and are nice she is willing to help you out at the end of the semester.
Professor is knowledgeable and helpful - conveys information clearly and provides multiple handouts and examples to aid understanding. Workload is very manageable, and an A is definitely attainable if you're willing to put in the time.
She teaches very well and uses good examples. Be ready for a 25 point quiz every other class period. Very picky when it comes to grading. Workload not much though.
Good at explaining things and gives good examples, but treats everyone like they are little kids.
Do not take this class with her. She gives a quiz at the start of every class period regardless of material learned in the last class and exams are TOUGH. Like no review sheet, no even clues to what will be on your test. It's rough and you really have to do the homework she assigns/just leaves on blackboard and doesn't ever talk about. Good luck...
Treats you like a child. She isn't willing to help you with the simplest things. I absolutely hated this class. If you study you'll do fine, it's just a pain to sit through the lectures and quizzes every week. Take anyone else if possible.
Avoid this professor at all costs. She makes things over complicated and has unnecessary weekly quizzes. She will make this class more time consuming and stressful than your more important classes.
Is the worst stats professor at gvsu, take anyone else. She gives a quiz every week on material that's irrelevant to material taught. She treats everyone like children, lectures are god awful boring and don't help much.... Oh did your grandma die or did you get really sick well It doesn't matter because there are no make ups for test or quizzes.
She is very effective. Has handouts each week with fill in the blanks for notes that she goes through. Quizzes every week that can be tricky, but aren't terrible. No surprises on exams, study a bit for them and you will be fine. No homework other than practice problems to prepare for the quiz if you choose to do them. I would recommend taking her.
Extremely boring. Looks at you like you're stupid if you ask a question. Tests are really hard: studying doesn't help. Textbook is impossible to understand, created by GV professors and terrible quality. This class is dry as the Sahara. Homework is annoying and worth too few points. Seems like everyone failed this class........
I loved this prof! She explains topics more than she expects students to know. There's weekly quizzes, but they're exactly like the non-required homework. She has fill-in-the-blank note packets. I studied for maybe an hour for each of the 2 tests and got A's on both. Just write everything down and don't have your phone out at all!
She seemed like a nice enough woman, but just not that great of a professor. No matter how many lectures I went to, and how many hours I studied, I still ended up getting a low grade on the quizzes that you have every class. All of your grade is basically tests.
Take any other stats professor.
Great prof. Notes are printed out and you just fill in the blanks. Gives good feedback on each quiz and test. Lectures were a little dry, but still 100% recommend. Notes are presented in an organized manner and you know what is going to be on tests. DO THE PRACTICE PROBLEMS (they directly resemble quiz questions) !!
Professor Reischman was great. Her tests MIRROR the worksheets she gave out. You don't need to understand everything she writes down on the board, as long as you can do the worksheets and use the chart. You have to put the time in but it isn't very much. Other than that, sometimes she seems a bit scattered but is extremely nice.
Very easy A as long as you go to class and pay attention. She offers a lot of extra credit opportunities to boost your grade. Do not waste money on the textbook for this class I never used mine, and it had no effect on my grade. Very nice lady.
Her lectures were thorough and well explained. However, we didnt really use the textbook too much. I definitely suggest doing the practice problems. Theyre not required but super helpful!
Diann is a very tough grader. Her lectures are well explained, but if you do not study outside of class, you will not pass. I have never felt like such a mediocre student in my life, and I had to WORK for this B. She's very willing to help outside of class, so definitely reach out if you need. It will help you tons.
Terrible grader. Takes off massive amounts of points for very small details. Is extremely tough on grammar, will deduct points if she feels you could have used a better word. Will make 7 videos for one homework assignment. Hours and hours of videos per week, with terrible audio quality. She feels her class is the most important and it shows
Quizzes every week. Only teacher teaching the STA220 classes this year (F22). Randomly gives out extra credit on certain practice problems. Goes fast during lectures and is sometimes hard to keep up. Kinda irks me when she just stares at you. Her syllabus does not have a schedule on it so you don't know when your exams are until she tells you.
DO EVERY SINGLE PRACTICE PROBLEM. It is the only way you will pass this class. She is very fast in the lecture and is very timid. Not very many examples in class. Prepare to teach yourself the content.
Though I did learn a lot, this class is meant for a specific type of learner, and only that type. The lectures were fast and the tests were mainly on stuff we barely covered. It's a class for elementary teachers, but teaching the content was not mentioned, the content did not seem at all relevant to teaching. The guided notes were nice though.
Im not too bad at math, but this class was so hard for no reason. Dr. Reischman teaching is for one type of learner only. She teaches pretty fast and the whole class was notes. The exams are nothing like the notes and the weekly quizzes are even worst! Do not take this class if you want a good grade.
I took this class with her because she was the only professor that taught it in the Allendale campus instead of the downtown campus. The professors downtown are engineering professors and are super chill about this class, but she is way too serious about it and strict with grading. Definitely my worst professor. Do not recommend. Ever.
She has no chill. Not understanding. Weekly quizzes are unnecessary.
She took half the credit of my test answer just for doing the integral to get an answer, and not taking the anti derivative and doing it the long way (this isn't even calc class). The test was timed so I had limited time, I also had the right answer. She also takes so many points off hw for no reason. Lectures are boring, hard to follow.
She clearly writes reviews for herself. No phones, you will get called out. She refuses to give you notes if you missed. The way she teaches is not helpful and chaotic so go to a tutor week. She says “No quizzes will be given at any other time, even where there is a legitimate reason for missing the class”. I WORKED for my grade. Avoid if you can.
This is the worst professor for stats; take Fox instead. All his tests are multiple-choice, while hers are all open-ended questions. She grades so harshly for no reason. I go to a tutor every Monday for this class and am still doing poorly on the tests. I even do every single practice problem.
I took AP stats in high school and received a 4 on the exam. The content in this course was not new to me, however I found that I knew the content but still received lots of points off on quizzes and tests for small errors that seemed pretty nit-picky and hurt my grade more than they should have. Boring style of teaching and unempathetic prof.
Would never take again. Refuses to post notes. Her syllabus literally says “ask another classmate for notes if you miss class. If their notes are incomplete be aware that you may ask me , but I likely will not fully remember all notes from the previous week”.
she actually cars that you succeed if you put in the effort. DO THE PRACTICE PROBLEMS, they say they're optional, but they're literally copy pastes of what's on the quiz each week and you will do way better if you do them. fill in the blanks note taking isn't my style but at least then you have very complete notes.
This class is awful. She is such a tough grader and takes off points for little mistakes. Lectures are fast and confusing. There is a quiz almost every week. Her exams are horrible some questions are worth 2 points others are worth 31 points. If you wanna be stressed this is the class for you.
Refuses to post notes. Says if you miss class you have to get notes from another student, and if the other students notes are incomplete then “oh well” (she literally said that on day one). Very harsh grader. Tests and quizzes are easy but you lose all your points due to improper notation.
Very bad. Honestly worst Professor I've had at gvsu
Not a good professir
This professor sucked. She has weekly quizzes and she is super petty on grading, docking points for the whole problem because you didnt label or use right notation, She does fill-in-the-blank notes and does not post the notes if you miss class, frustrating professor, I know of at least 5 other people who dropped the class because of the difficulty.
