She is a very clear and helpful teacher. She would always give examples of what some of these vocabulary words meant. She would also have us get into groups of 4 teams for a review game the meeting before the test. The team that wins would get about 4 extra points added to the test and then the second place team gets 3 points and so on.

This teacher is awesome. The handout packets are key to passing the tests, study them and you will do fine! She is so interesting, and you can tell she loves what she teaches, this class is so easy and you learn a lot.

Ms. Fair is "science" cool. She teaches right from powerpoint, but prints the slides out for everyone so they have a copy to write on. Tests are mc/tf. She does not use the book so don't buy it! She gives tons of cool examples and will clairfy biology and some chemistry that your high school teachers didn't make clear. She's a good one to take.

Spring microbiology: live it and love it! Not an easy A, but so very worth it if you study and actually do the work. You'll miss her personable teaching style when you're in nursing school; I do.

This teacher makes sciences so funny and interesting. Her test are on the examples she goes over in class. The only way you can do bad in this class is if you never go. She also doesn't take attendance, so it can be very easy to miss a class but you won't regret going to class if you do go!!!

Very smart and funny. Her quizzes are hard and you do need to study a lot. The labs are fun and you learn a lot from this class. She is very helpful as well. To all the nursing majors, I would defintely take Fair. You need a prof. who is a little more difficult b/c you will thank her when you score high on the state exam and earn your scrubs!

Doesn't matter what the class is, just be sure to take Dr. Fair. Quizzes are hard (they're supposed to be), but she will make sure you have all that you need to study and do well. Don't miss class either if you can help it...she wants you to do a good job and she's funny as you-know-what! Also, Powerpoints are a big big plus.

Dr. Fair is an amazingly funny and effective teacher. I put absolutely minimal effort forth and passed her Micro class easily. If I can do it, anyone can do it. She gives you all the notes you'll ever need in handouts. Don't even bother buying the main textbook - waste of time, but take Dr. Fair for any science courses you can. She is top notch!

Utterly fantastic! Dr. Fair is one of those rare professors that is completely approachable and entertaining. There is *no* better choice for a Micro professor. She is *not* easy, but her explanations and clarity make up for the difficulty of the material. Quizzes are extremely thorough, everything is from the notes. Midterm and a final, both MC.

I took Dr. Fair for both BSC 1005 and PSC 1341: you do not need the books so don't bother. Her notes are more than enough (handouts & through Blackboard). She encouraged me to take the optional finals (which I did not want to!) but I'm glad I did...B's in both classes. Excellent professor who really loves teaching. Take any class you can!!

There are 5 tests and she keeps the best 4. She does not use a book and does everything on power points, which she will print out for you. She is very clear and gives great examples. If you are not a great test taker then I wouldn't take her, because the class is only testing. She is a awesome teacher and I would recommend!

she teaches super clear. you do not need to buy textbooks because she gives hand outs that is lengthy but easy to learn. all you need to have is a photo atlas and a lab packet and yull be fine. the class is interesting. its not an easy A though but very very attainable. the best Microbiology proff in FCCJ!

I took this class during summer for 8 weeks. I loved her teaching style. you learn a lot and its really easy. come to class and do her review sheet and you will pass her class. Make sure you come on the review day because she gives 3 points for extra credit. it will help because she only gives 4 tests.

Dr. Fair is an awesome professor. She was easy and clear on the material. I finished the class with a 96, but the class average was a 72. If you come to class you will learn and you will pass. She's always available for office hours, she's responsive with e-mails. There's no homework, 4 tests, 1 final, and she drops your lowest grade. Great Class!

Dr. Fair is by far one of the best professors I have ever taken. I absolutely love her because she is funny, keeps students involved, and has great labs. She gives weekly quizzes that can be very challenging (study everything!), but by the end you will know microbiology like it is second nature to you. I recommend her to anyone!

I hated chemistry in high school but she actually makes it intresting. I really enjoy her class and that doesn't come out of my mouth very often. Some people in my class are struggling but I have gotten High A's on every test so far and one 100%. She lets you use a 3 x 5 note card for the test....come on how hard can it be?!?! Take her!!!

I have just finished CHM1020 with Dr. Fair, and it was a fast 8 wks! Very intense. She is funny, smart and extremely FAIR... treats her students like people with real lives outside of class. We did labs that were creative and related to our lectures. If you have a chance to take ANY sci class with Dr. Fair, you will be glad you did. Excellent!

Professor Fair is an awesome teacher. I have been terrified of chemistry ever since the 10th grade, but her lectures break it down into simple concepts. Watch out for the last unit though, it's very difficult and cost me my A. She only has 4 exams, one per unit, and if you do well on all of them then you can skip the final.

Her teaching methods are very understanding & she is willing to help at any time. There are 4 quizes,4 test, the exit exam, & lab assignments. She drops the lowest quiz/test/lab grades only but there's extra credit available (lab notebook-easy given points). The class was a challenge for me but I still passed & you can too! Hint: Study the Packet!

This was my first chem class and she worked with me on improving my grades. Instruction is clear and she will work constantly through class to help people understand the material. It is up to you to study for the tests though. She also makes the time go quickly since she is pretty funny

OK so unit 4 is pretty hard, but Dr. Fair did warn us not to slack off after Spring Break. I did and it's my own fault. However, I can take the final next week to bring up my grade. Wish she was teaching micro in the fall but I'll wait until January. Awesome prof!

i took dr. fair for chm1020 and mcb2010c. she is an awesome professor. wish i could take her for more classes. most of the grade for mcb comes in the last week of class, but she is very helpful and explains the material in a way that makes it much easier to understand.

I took her for summer term. Our class was 2 hours and 45 min and she was able to keep my attention the entire time. I would highly recommend her to anyone who wants to learn and wants a good grade as well. She allows 1 3x5 index cheat card for every exam! :) understand concepts more then just memorizing and you will do great!

Class based on 5tests but the lowest test grade is dropped. She is super funny and nice and you can tell she loves her job. Attendance isn't mandatory but the more you attend the better off you will be. Extra credit is an option and her tests are pretty easy if you study.

Dianne Fair is the reason I go to college. For laughing, and learning. She is simply the best teacher I have ever had, and an even better friend out of class. Not convinced? Here's a few more reasons: No textbook. A $6 packet she made herself is all you need. The extra credit is fun and helpful. And most of all, you'll smile more than ever before.

One midterm, one lab final which is 20 q 15 of which are short essay, and one more final after that. Good luck on her choose all that apply multiple choice, miss one the whole thing is wrong. I am an older student, returning to College after many years away from school. Dr. Fair presented all material, goals and the calendar very very clearly. The class is not "easy" but she gives students everything they need to do well.She helped me outside of class to work for my A!

Took her for CHM1020 & fell in love & had to have her for MCB. She is very clear about her expectations and will do whatever necessary to help you. The fact I got a B+ was operator error. Weekly quizzes (3 dropped), 2 1500 word papers (graded primarily on grammar & word count), lab notebook, midterm, final & lab practical.

Med term class (summer). Dr Fair is a very hard grader BUT she will help you with any questions you have in class! She goes over rough drafts as many times as needed and is very specific in the syllabus. I will take microbiology with her!

Professor Fair is hilarious. It's sort of a teach yourself type of environment because most of the class is spent on going on tangents. Pretty easy though as long as you study of course. Not a hard grader on the tests but when it comes to the essay that is a whole other story. Overall okay teacher.

She doesn't take attendance but I definitely would've done better if I showed up more (sitting at a C). Show up for the review days, you get 5 free points added to your test.

Prof. Fair made biology fun and simple. She put it into layman terms, so those of us who haven't been in the school setting for a long time could really get it. She doesn't even require a book, (she has everything on PowerPoint slides, which are posted on BB) but if you need it, she'll recommend one. Lots of info, you must study hard to pass.

The class is based off of 4 tests and she will drop one. So if you like the first four tests grade you do not have to take the final. There is no book. She will give you the powerpoint and a worksheet and gives the answers for the worksheet and always go over it. Also, you get a cheat sheet on the test. A 3x5 but it is easy. I would def take again!

I received an A and I absolutely loved her class. You don't need a book and you only have 4 tests. Notes are online for her tests but you should still attend her lectures. There's lab packets that are graded but very easy. One final essay that you're able to choose the topic on. As long as you study you'll pass. No cumulative final test either!

I took for for chem, Bio, and MCB. She is outstanding! Everything she teaches works, especially the slides she gives; She is a tough grader though, if you procrastinate - you will fair, but if you study and follow the slides, you will pass. Microbiology is a challenge if you don't have a science background. She teaches barney style. take her!

Her lectures are astounding & she's really funny! You do lab everyday & they are short & fun. The research papers (1500 word count) are due on the day of the exam (essay exam), so you can't procrastinate! Don't take this class with a full class load; it will stress you out & can get overwhelming real quick! The due dates feel like a set up to fail!

Professor Fair is AMAZING! I wish we have more professor like her. You still need to study but the lecture helps a lot so I wouldn't miss any class.

She DIDN'T make us buy a TEXTBOOK for her class. She knew how much they costed and said she was not making us go through that. She went through what we really needed to know and cut out all the (as I like to call it) unnecessary and useless words in a text book. Honestly just show up, practice, and listen and you'll pass this class easily.

(4)Test, (2) 5pg papers, lab notebook, ppt presentation, (2) article analysis,& a book review. She actually reads everything and check for all kinds of grammatical error. Test are all essays but she provides a review sheet for the tests. Not an easy A, you have to put in effort.

Dr Fair is amazing. She's so entertaining & sweet, while making Chemistry interesting & simple. As long as you show up to every class & do the practice test problems, you'll easily pass. She gives practice test for each test & goes over the problems in detail. Also, doesn't require a textbook!!! I look forward to taking her for Micro next semester

Professor Fair is amazing. She really cares about her students, even allows Facebook messages if you need to get a hold of her ASAP. Attendance isn't mandatory but this is microbiology, if you skip class you won't get the information. She is clear about what is going to be on quizzes and exams. Very helpful! Don't be afraid to ask questions.

Dr Fair is amazing. She really cares about her students and tries to make her lectures engaging to listeners. She encourages asking questions and seeking help. She's available outside of class and provides extra credit each week. Attendance isn't mandatory, but if you miss class she would glaze over something that's test-worthy. Easy A if you study

Dr. Fair gives you all of the information you need to do well in the course (everything including the text are posted on Blackboard). It's on you to follow directions and ask questions! VERY picky grader. You need to meet with her in person to get help. I learned a lot & will take more classes with her. I am a Biomed major (PA, I hope).

Dr. Fair is great. It is hard because she grades how you deserve so the more work you put in the better your grade. She is willing to work with you if you ask!

I found the course materials available on Blackboard, no problem. If you have questions, just ask! Prof Fair is always willing to help and replies to emails fast. I thought her grading was fair. You have to earn your grades and she will help if you get lost on something. I'm starting pharmacy school in August.

Dianne will show you everything you will need to know to understand every aspect of the science. She will thoroughly comb through all the things you might have brushed over in lower level courses, and discuss with you any questions you might have regarding the science. Discussions were very involved, and she gives great feedback promptly! Take her!

I am an A student and did well in the class. Do your work and you EARN a good grade. Read the textbook and actually look at the slides. Ask questions in class or I even sent emails (pretty quick to respond). I worked my behind off and it was worth it. If you actually want to learn, take Dr. Fair!

One of the toughest classes you will ever love. If you are in Biomed, you will love Dr Fair's classes. She is a huge asset to the Bachelor's level program. I heard from other students that the MCB classes are similar with papers, presentations, etc. Wish she taught the online stuff too.

Professor Fair is amazing! It was my first Microbiology class and it was not difficult. There are a lot of opportunities for extra credit and she is a fair grader. You'll use OpenStax as your textbook, and she'll provide two power point slides, one for each half of the semester. Study the slides primarily and you'll be fine. Labs were fun!

She is great professor, but her exams are hard. I dont recommend 10 week class. The quizzes are not that hard, but you need to review the previous chapters along with the new ones. You must read openstax and the slides. On presentation day dont be late or risk losing points which got me a B plus. I regret coming late, but overall I learned a lot.

Dr. Fair, is honestly the best professor I've ever taken at fscj. She makes this class so much fun, as we never had a dull moment. However, you have to study! We had weekly quizzes and two exams in the class. Other than that we did labs every class, which made it so enjoyable. Dr. Fair is really passionate about her work and it shows. Pls take her.

This class was very easy. She gives quizzes on the chapters. They are vocabulary building, scattegories and spelling. You will discuss the answers for some of the assignments. Only like two tests, a research paper and a presentation. They are simple. She makes the class fun and helps you understand the coursework better.

She is an amazing teacher. The work is very simple and straightforward. The course consists of quizzes and two tests. The quizzes are not difficult and she will help you understand. There will also be a presentation at the end, but she makes it fun. Attending the lectures will make a difference in your understanding. Very funny.

Dr. Fair has been one of my absolute FAVORITE professors! I've taken 3 classes with her because I enjoy her teaching style and optimistic and positive attitude. Her classes have the usual difficulty you would expect at the Jr/Sr level but she really loves her subjects so it is more interesting to learn. Very accessible and responsive.

I absolutely love Dr. Fair! You can tell she is really passionate about what she does and it shows through her lectures. Attendance is not mandatory, and you can make up labs you've missed with no problem.

Tough but fair grader. This was not a difficult class; just keep up with your labs in the lab notebook and you will do fine. Presentation at the end was short and not hard at all. Read your syllabus and follow it. No problems.

This class was rough at first since its 1 day a week, but that was not bad at all and helped with other courses.. Dr. Fair is awesome she tries to relate life stories and stuff with material. She really does take the time to answer every question which is great and what passionate professors do. Study for the exams! Start Your Presentation DAY 1!!!

Dr. Fair's class was intense but rewarding. She makes the material engaging with real-life examples. Study hard and start presentations early - it pays off. unstuck AI was a great supplemental study tool alongside the textbook.
