Probably the most boring teacher I've had. Not very helpful. She's a flip-flopper....she changes things around to suit herself at te expense of the class. Don't take her.
The class is a little boring, but she lets you bring in a page of notes front and back for exams. She also gives so much extra credit. Probably one of the easier stat classes.
This professor is great! She is very helpful! She is always willing to come in early or stay for extra help. She responds to e-mails very quickly! She also allows a page front and back of notes for her test! Best class i've had yet!
Great teacher, cheat sheet and notes from class were allowed on tests. Exams were easy with notes and so much extra credit. You do not need to take the final if you have enough points. Definately take this class for an EASY A
Great professor! Class work, homework, & group work for each chapter but it really makes you learn & have a lot of practice before exams. Make sure to go to class & do the homeworks & class work because you get points for everything & if you have enough points at the end of the semester you dont have to take the final. Lots of extra credit. Easy A
Good teacher. Very easy to follow. Tests are easy if you do homework. Give extra credit. Allows 1 page on notes on tests. Its a college students dream class. take her!!
Class is like a college student's dream! Easy tests, professor is approachable and easy to understand, pretty easy material, plenty of work to boost grade, extra credit, allows 1 page of notes on test, and if if you have A, then no final! Take this class with her!!
Great class, attendance mandatory. exams are fair, work is reasonable. professor is very approachable and helpful. cheat sheet on tests!!
Very clear and easy professor, she is very knowledgeable. One of the easiest classes that I've ever taken, easy to get exempt from the final.
Easiest class ever. there is a lot of classwork/homework that is tedious but helpful. She requires attendance which is completely unecessary b/c the class is so easy. Calls role at the beginning of class even with 100 people in the class, which is ridiculous. Teaches the class like its kindergarten which is annoying but tolerable bc its a easy A
She is a very organized, clear teacher who is a great professor!
Spent most of the class trying to figure out how she has a 26 year old kid and a 6yr old kid... yehhh. She moves quickly thru problems which can be annoying, but you get a whole sheet of paper (back and front) for each test. I'd def. recommend, not hard at all and a good teacher.
Extremely organized professor. She grades some what hard on the homeworks, but if you have an A before the final comes around, you're exempt from the final. I highly recommend her. The class is easy, and she does every thing she can to make it pain-free.
This class is definitely an "easy A". Do your homework and you're fine. The exams are exactly like the worksheets that you do in class so, as long as you've been attending, you're good to go. Basically, all "calculator math" - learn/memorize what buttons to push into your calculator and you're fine. Very clear and helpful as a teacher too. Rec!
Great teacher. Easy class. A+. >100%. You MUST attend class if you want to have an easy and understandable grasp of the material. Homework (and make that quizzes/tests as well) are just repetitions of the in-class assignments that she goes through very thoroughly. Overall great teacher and class!
Great professor, easy A as long as you go to class and do the homework. I've never done well in a math class before but she makes it really easy to understand
Easiest class ever. Treats you like kindergarteners. All you have to do is print worksheets, go to class&fill them in off the board, put them in a folder that you hand in on exam day for points. Tests on 1 topic so easy and you get a full sheet of notes. 3 extra credits. Annoying that you have to go to class and she checks calculators but sooo easy
The banality of this class is astonishing. Sisofo is a good teacher but it takes five mandatory class periods to explain 15 min. of topic. Besides this, she omits statistical theory and highlights use of the calculator. In effect this class is a glorified calculator manual. If you're looking for a remedial stat and an easy A, this is your class.
This professor treats you like you are in 1st grade and it is extremely annoying. If you dont follow the directions exactly she will take a lot of points off. Class is mandatory which is annoying as well. The extra credit is really tedious and causes a lot of extra and unnecessary work. Overall I was extremely annoyed by this class.
Expect to receive 5 emails a day...The class itself and the material she gives out is very very easy. There is just a lot to do and doing the work is just tedious. She is very @nal about doing things her way and there is no way around it...period
She is so nice! Class is really easy just annoying that you have to go to every single class to get out of the final. This class is an easy A.
I took MATH 201 and, that may be why I thought this class was easier than expected. Calculator is hugely involved. 3 Exams, The "Discussions" are like a group work day and you can get out of them pretty early. Does send you alot of emails, you can get exempt for the final, but you NEED to do every single assignment and you must go to every class.
EASY A. tests are exactly what she goes over in class. Yes there is a good amount of homework to do, but if anything it helps your grade doesn't take longer then an hour a week. Highly recommended course.
She's okay. Repeats the subject over and over till the test comes and then you get a sheet of notes for it. Problem is the ridiculous amount of assignments which DO ruin your grade and you have teach yourself the material for them. My tests were all A+'s and one was even a 105, but I still ended up with a B because of the assignments.
This class is an easy A if you just do the work. Lots of assignments that don't take long and are really just free points. Attendance is important if you want to be exempted from the final exam. She has really strict requirements for how she wants things done but if you follow them you'll be fine.
Very easy class taught by a very thorough teacher. She explains ad nauseum but is very particular when it comes to assignments. I wish I had tried harder but I don't see why anyone cant get an A as long as you show up and do all the assignments. Take it as an easy math requirement.
Professor Sisofo is a great professor, and if you pay attention in class, STAT200 is an easy A.
She is a very good professor. Her class is extremely easy. However, all of the assignments and where to find the assignments, along with the info to go with them is reallllllly disorganized. She also NEVER responds on time to emails. by the time she responds, it's too late. But over all, an easy A.
Easy A if you follow all instructions, no matter how trivial they may seem (like writing name & date on the right corner of the page & folding it the way she wants before turning it in). Feel like you're being treated as a child? Just accept it. Be happy you get a good grade for it. Besides, a lot of UDel students need this kind of hyper-discipline
She was nice but her hw takes too long and is very annoying. definitely too much work!! tests and quizzes are tricky even if u do study..
This class was the biggest mistake I've made at UD. She teaches it like a middle school course- mandatory attendance (she has sign in sheets and assigned seating so if she doesn't see you in your seat she marks you absent) and only cares "if you follow her directions". I got all As on exams but not in class because points off from HWs. AVOID HER!!
Very nit picky with the grading. class is spent doing worksheets, and then the homework assignments are pretty similar. Flies through examples in class and through computer software examples. Easy to get a decent grade, but definitely takes some effort for an A
She is the most confusing professor ever. She makes everything, especially homework, extremely confusing. It will take you longer to figure out what the homework is than to actually do the homework. I have never been so frustrated with a professor or a class before and i would definitely recommend not taking it.
She is definitely anal about how things are done in her class. Accept it. The earlier you accept it and begin to learn to do things her way, the better off you'll be and the higher grade you'll get. Easy A if you make it that way.
Really easy, just do your work! She answers her emails really quickly, and always is there to help. Lots of extra credit. Except there's a quiz every week or so. And you have to print a worksheet for class EVERYDAY.
Professor was very nice, but was totally unclear about dates of important things like final exam. Also, don't take this class if you can't deal with an insane level of micromanagement from a teacher.
Honestly, just go to class, copy down the examples on worksheets. Homework and assignments seem a little long and stupid, but just do what she says and its an easy A. She tells you exactly what to know for the tests and quizzes and exams are just like the worksheets. Clicker questions in class for EC. Not a hard class, she's just picky.
She's very particular about the way the class runs and it's a little tedious sometimes, but she's a great teacher and by the time you get to each exam you feel fully prepared. Everything's planned out on a schedule and it's really clear. Easy A - lots of extra credit and exemption from the final is possible. Take her if you need STAT200!
Prof Sisofo was very straight forward in class. She gives A LOT of extra credit opportunities, and this class seemed overly easy. I ended up with a 105 that I don't feel like I really earned. Overall, easy class. Take if you need a GPA booster, but don't plan on learning much.
Professor Sisofo is a good professor. Class was taught through worksheets on powerpoints. Exams are fairly easy. There is a good amount of homework. She gives so many chances for extra credit. I passed the class with a ridiculously high grade. If you need a GPA booster, take this class.
Took as a summer course. Completely unrealistic of the professor to think the course could be designed and taught the way it was. VERY fast paced and the professor does not clarify things well at all.
Probably the worst professor Ive had here at UD... She sits behind the desk the entire lecture and reads off her slides. OH and beware she sends about 10 emails daily about pointless updates. Its a good thing this class is easy bc I had to teach myself everything. Her pace is dreadfully slow. she says she requires you to bring everything to class.
She is quite nice and can be very helpful if you go to her office hours. HOWEVER the tests have gotten harder and beware THERE IS NO LONGER EXTRA CREDIT IN THIS CLASS.
Do not take her class. The only reason I'm doing well is because I took AP Stat in high school - she is awful and not helpful. Also, she randomly selects students that aren't doing well and reports them to the office of Student Conduct for cheating if their quiz score is bad. Avoid her class at all costs.
Awful, awful, awful. She does not teach at all. Sits behind desk during lecture and all she does is read off the slides. She says the book is mandatory which is probably a good thing since I had to teach myself. TA's aren't allowed to help during discussion section which makes no sense. NO LONGER GIVES EXTRA CREDIT. Takes attendance every class.
Do not listen to most of these people saying how awful Sisofo is. Know this, she is very tedious about how she wants things, but as long as you show up to class, PAY ATTENTION and do some of the homework, you will do well in this class. She is not out to make you fail. Those who did poorly most likely did not do the work or pay attention.
Professor is definitely very picky about how her class is run. Attendance is a must. Discussion sessions every other friday. Quizzes every other monday and 1 cumulative final exam. If you go to class, pay attention, and do the practice problems it is an easy A. If you take good notes, look them over twice before quizzes and you will get a 100.
assigned seats, takes attendance daily, biweeekly quizzes that you never get back, cumulative final exam, so monotone
Toughest math course I have ever taken. She uses ClickerQuizes for attendance, quizzes count towards your grade. Every lecture (class of 200+ students) is in a PPT and she goes through them at her own pace, not yours. She'll answer ?'s occasionally but any ? outside of class is through her TA's. Group work every week. HARD exams! Crazy EC - do it.
Takes time during lectures, can be boring. Assigned seating in both class & discussions. Changes discussions seating weekly; inconvenience. Many PowerPoints when she could just fit it all in one. Focus more on quizzes, try get A's in quizzes and discussions. Cumulative final is difficult. If you skip +3 classes you lose points. Enjoyed learning.
Not that hard of a class however she makes things way more tedious than they need to be. She also seems very depressed and looks like she wants to kill herself every class. Get used to monotone and long lectures.
Dr. Sisofo is... particular. She will send an average of 5 emails a week. she will be your inbox's best friend. It is an easy class. The math is easy, procedures are a lot to remember. The lectures are painful as she reads verbatum the powerpoints and uses awful examples, but it is a fair class. I got a total of 285287 points before the final.
Her lectures were incredibly confusing, but she takes attendance at every one. She would often fly through 3-4 examples during a one-hour lecture instead of taking the time to fully solve one example. I ended up learning more through the extra credit online quizzes than through her lectures.
Only mandatory on discussion and exams. Not a class to stress about. Study the night before and you should get an A.. She's pretty boring but lets you out of class most days. My biggest advice is do all the homework and quizzes. They're optional but are such big grade boosters. I never use the textbook, but she lets you have it for the final.
Sisofo has a tendency to read off the slides. She is very nice if you meet up with her in person. She offers the chance to be exempt from the exam.
She goes too fast and is too quiet and makes it very difficult to keep up. She also gives assigned seats - even in the big lectures - and uses the seating chart to call people out for answers. The whole class was a nightmare. Take with someone else.
I took this class for a major requirement, and I loved it. She's so clear with instructions, only 7 easy quizzes, lots of practice worksheets and opportunities that help your grade. Give extra credit. Overall nice lady and good stats class! Take this class with Dr. Sisofo!!!
She makes you do the homework before she even teaches it so it gets hard sometimes and the textbook is hard to understand. A lot of extra credit opportunities and the option to exempt the final if you get almost 100s on everything. I probably wouldn't take her class again as she teaches very quickly and makes it hard to understand.
Fast teacher, but she knows what she is talking about
Dont have to show up to class for general lectures. Easy to get an A. You have 7 quizzes and you can get two points of extra credit for every quiz if you do the EC homework the night before. Study the day before the quiz and youll do fine if you have a general background of math. You can get exempted from the final if you have an A.
Class isn't to hard if you do what is expected of you. She does give a decent amount of homework, but the grades on these homeworks can be added towards quizzes for extra credit. If you get set grades on all quizzes you don't need to take the final.
I was nervous about this class because I'm very bad at math but I ended up getting an A. Dr. Sisofo really tries to set this class up for your success by offering extra credit that also prepares you for the quizzes. With a little effort, this is a very easy class, even for a math-challenged person like me.
Enjoyed this class. As long as you put in the time an effort, it is an easy A and you can get exempt from the final.
I took Sisofo over Winter Session with about 25 other people in my class. Her lectures are very organized and easy to learn from. The book for this class was confusing at times so it's important you go to class to get clarification. Lowest quiz grade between a 70% and 93% is dropped. Very easy to get an A in this class.
Likes to be called Dr. Farina now. She is very clear when she goes over power points. She wants her students to succeed and sets them up for success by having practice problems that prepare you for the quizzes. I was exempt from final , you must get 93% or above on all quizzes except 1 (70% + ). I took this class over Winter Session.
She sets all students up for success, is very organized, and is very clear with her lectures. She offers plenty of extra credit opportunities and is very helpful when students are confused about a topic. You do have to put in the work to do well, but she makes it very easy to do so. I highly recommend taking her class.
There's an opportunity to get out of the final! She does teach kind of fast sometimes and there are homework assignments due on that ch before you learn it but it wasn't a terrible class. Just show up. There are assigned seats and she sends a million emails. Overall not horrible but not the greatest.
She gives a lot of extra credit. Her study guides contain almost everything you need. I got an A even though I always studied last second. It's not hard if you're good at math. She provides the more difficult formulas on the quizzes. She gives homework before the stuff is taught, but many math teachers do that and you get unlimited attempts. Easy A
Excellent class and teacher! Chance to get out of final if you earn 285.8 out of 309. Quizzes are super easy and lowest one drops. Homework assignments easy and group worksheets super easy. Professor Farina is super nice. My favorite class so far. The math is not very hard. Lowest grade I got on a quiz was 83 and that dropped got 100s on the rest
I had to drag myself to this class - but if you read the book, and do ALL of the assignments - you'll be fine. She seems willing to help if you need it. Also, if you had an A going into the final, you didn't have to take it. One less thing to worry about finals week.
The class is extremely boring but participation could make or break your grade. Its a fairly easy class. All you really have to do is read the study guide, do ALL the assignments, show up, and you'll be fine. She gives so many opportunities for extra points and the homework is usually unlimited attempts. Didnt need the book.
This class is possibley the most boring class I've taken at UD. however, its really easy to do well. Do all the homework assignments, and drag yourself to class because she takes attendance. There aren't tests, just quizzes and she lets you bring a notecard to each quiz so it's pretty easy to do well on the quizzes.
Very boring lectures, but as long as you complete the work, this class is ridiculously easy to do well in. The lectures may be dry, but Dr. Sisofo really makes things clear and simple. Lots of small assignments, but they are usually pretty easy and add up to help you receive a good grade. Can bring a note card to every quiz. Uses TopHat in class.
She's a great teacher. She stays focused during her lectures which might be boring at times but makes the most of her time in class. The semester is broken up into 9 chapters. Each chapter consists of a pre-lecture homework , tophat questions, a discussion, a post-lecture homework , and a quiz. Get a 92.45+ and you are excepted from the final exam.
Her lectures were dry and straight from the PowerPoint. If you didnt understand the material, you were out of luck in her eyes. She also gave us assigned seats and if no one raised their hand to answer, she would call a seat number.
The teacher is extremely straightforward but a little boring at times. The syllabus spells out every assignment and due dates, quizzes are fairly easy, no exams, and you can get exempted for the final exam if you meet all criteria which are relatively easy. As long as you follow the lecture slides and get your work done it should be an easy A.
STAT200 with Professor Sisofo is extremely easy. Her lectures are not that helpful but the homework she assigns at the beginning of each chapter is very helpful. This is because this homework involves learning most of the chapter yourself through the textbook and a study guide she posts. This class is not hard but is largely self-taught.
great prof!!! 6 tests and 1 final exam thats split into 2 parts over 3 class periods. u get to use one big note on each test and you get up to 10 big note cards for the final. super easy if u pay attention. although her tests are only maybe 10 questions long and each question is worth close to 12 points so if u get one wrong u already got a B.
Eh. Lots of exams, lots of homework, but nothing too difficult. Keep up with the work, do your notecards, and there's no reason you should get a low grade. Her lectures are boring and a pain to wake for as your first class, but attendance is required. She's very fair in grading and has actually made the class an extremely easy A.
Attendance is mandatory!! She takes off 1% off tour overall grade for every day missed. Theres a test after every unit and theyre really easy, especially considering youre allowed a note card for each one. Shes helpful at her office hours explaining what you did wrong and might even give points back on the exam
There a 6 tests and a final, but you can get exempt from the final. The tests were short and easy. Each tests is on a small amount of notes and you can have notecard. As long as you have a notecard and practice the night before, you should do well in each test. Homework before each unit and at the end of each unit. Attendance is MANDATORY. Easy A.
Great professor. She has a very strict attendance policy and even assigns seats (which is a bit odd), but she is on top of her game. If you do the work, show up to class, and pay attention, you should be able to pass the class no problem.
She is definitely a little extra with her assigned seats, but she is very good at explaining the material and you get a note card for every exam so you never have to memorize anything. Also, if you get an A on every exam (and they're all pretty easy) then you don't have to take the final. Definitely take stat with her!
Dr. Sisofo's class is an easy A if you put in the work. Has assigned seats for a big lecture but overall good teacher.
A lot of work when you're in class but she makes it so easy to follow along and when you pay attention things will start to come easy to you. I definitely think her way of teaching actually helped me learn things in her class because some of it was really hard but the tools and resources she gives you really helps. Definitely recommend Dr. Farina!!
A solid choice. She was pretty boring during the lectures but overall got across all the information we needed in a time-efficient manner and always let us know that we could stop her to ask questions. She gives you everything you need to pass and lets you write a notecard of formulas for every exam so this is a very easy A if you do the homework.
She is easy as hell if you know how to do basic math
Dr. Sisofo lays out everything you need to know in her syllabus. She definitely comes off strong and to some she might be mean, but don't be afraid to ask questions in class. BE WARNED don't email her unless it's good, otherwise she wont respond. She doesn't offer EC so don't ask. Just follow along with the manual and the class should be easy.
I'm not the best at math, but this class is an easy A if you attend the right classes. Tests are always way easier than homework, and we have multiple attempts at most assignments. She can come across a bit condescending at times, but is still rather patient and helpful. Although a bit mundane, it's still a good class.
Avoid! I would seriously caution taking this course online and look for other options. Sisofo is unable to effectively communicate course material in a meaningful way and is unrelatable to students in online environment. She overcomplicates every aspect to the point of total and utter confusion and is unavailable outside class setting. So lame!!
Prof Sisofo is great! This class is a super easy A. All assignments follow the exact same format and are predictable. Droppest the lowest test (and lowest of classwork & homework) but all are easy if you complete the Homework. No final. Definitely would recommend.
Dr. Sisofo is great! The lectures are easy to follow along and the class follows the same format every week. Easy A if you pay attention and do all of the practice/homework.
Take someone else
She is the least understanding person in the world. She was so rude and genuinely not a good teacher. I have no idea how some of these reviews are good. I had a horrible experience with her, and I would not recommend her to my worst enemy!
Do every practice exam and homework assignment. The exams will be easy if you follow along in class. She made her own textbook, make sure to pay attention as she can jump around quickly. Overall, not terrible teaching style, she does not hold your hand. Would recommend over other professors for this class
I recommend taking her online stats class, if you pay attention to the lectures and do the quiz and test reviews you should receive a good grade, I currently have an A, at first its hard to understand the lessons because it is on zoom, but eventually it gets easier. definitely recommend
This class was very easy to follow. She is very knowledgeable in what she os teaching and it is very clear she enjoys what she is teaching. She response very well to questions, and is very helpful when going to ask for help outside of class. The class was very organized and scheduled very well.
Every test is online and there are several. However, they are not difficult and you can have limited notes for each one. There is an easy quiz and homework before each test as well. Attendance is mandatory but she does practice problems with you that are easy to follow. It is easy to succeed in this class.
Refuses to excuse absences no matter how dire
Sisofo's STAT200 class can be a mixed bag, but with the right approach, it's manageable. Do the practice exams and homework - they're key. And try Unstuck AI for extra study support alongside the textbook.
Although her Zoom class is boring, she's a knowledgeable and easily reachable professor. Her class isn't hard, and she gives you everything you need for the asynchronous exams. There is no reason not to have a good grade in her class.
Dr. Sisofo was very nice and straightforward. Most of your grade is based on test and quizzes, but they're entirely open book and pretty easy. I didn't use the textbook once (you do need the course pack though). The subject was pretty easy but lectures were still relevant and very helpful to learn the step by step for each problem.
I really enjoyed Dr. Sisofos class. The lectures were a bit boring but they are completely optional. Her assignments and tests are all open note and fairly easy.
she has a lot of attitude when you ask questions on zoom. exams/quizzes are all online at home open note given 24 hours to do it. do not need the textbook just the course packet. do not need to join any classes only one homework before each exam (kinda bi-weekly)
A lot of assignment's but the course book was the most helpful thing for me. All exams, tests, and quizzes are done online by yourself, and you have 24 hours to do them. Kind of hard to get in contact with and can sometimes have an attitude and move quickly during Zoom lectures. I recommend watching videos she previously recorded. Very easy.
I found Sisofo's class interesting yet frustrating. She would take points off for little mistakes on assignments, which add up over time. There are 2 exams, each worth 35% of your grade, so be prepared for them.
