Dr. Tandy is an awesome teacher. He makes everything fun and interesting, cracks jokes here and there but you still learn so much. One teacher that i think will make this semester interesting.

He is an awesome teacher. He makes me want to come to class. He is not boring. He does crack jokes every now and then, which is a great thing. He is very helpful, my rating explains it all. I am glad he will be one of my Grad teachers.

Dr. Tandy is such a great professor! He's extremely helpful and makes the class fun. You can tell that he really enjoys teaching and cares about the students.

Excellent professor. When I decided to take this class during the summer I was quite apprehensive. Dr. Tandy explained every aspect clearly and didn't get mad if you had difficulty understanding something. He is intelligent and witty. Take him if you need this course and hate math!

i had heard nothing but terrible things about statistics classes.but professor tandy turned all that around.he made the material very easy to understand and taught us how to become "calculator technicians".for the most part you should be able to squeak by with an A.worst case scenario,B.

He is the best teacher I've ever had! He really knows his stuff! He explains everything very thoroughly. He's a great teacher, tells funny jokes, and cares about students! He is a UNLV treasure! Take his class if you want to learn something!

This was my first stats class I have ever taken in my life! He was very clear on the assignments and what he wanted us to learn. His teaching is very thorough and he makes sure his students actually understands what he is teaching. One of the best classes I've taken in college yet. I've learned a lot. If you're taking stats, TAKE HIM!!!

i'm terrible in math, but dr. tandy makes math fun, not very many professors can do that...attend his class regularly, do the sample probs, and you'll pass for sure...doesnt have very many office hours, but is willing to make some if needed...if you need to take a stats class, TAKE THIS CLASS!! it's worth it..

He makes the class interesting enough to pay attention. The only way to fail his class is to not attend. He is helpful and apparently has no time for slackers so if you show up to class you will breeze through the class. Dr. Tandy is awesome! he explains the material in a very clear manner. If you dont understand a problem he will help you out so dont be afraid to ask for help,dont be shy. I enjoyed his class because he jokes around. At first I thought it was going to be hard but if you attend his class EVERY DAY then you are guaranteed to pass his class.DONTBELAZY

This is one class i actually learned a few things. I never really paid attention in class, but when it came down to exams, he was helpful in reviews. Pretty easy going professor. I'd take another class from him.

Best teacher of my life; I'm terrible at math and was terrified going into Stats. He breaks the material down into a way everyone can understand. If you go to class and pay attention you can get an A no problem. Really cool prof.; I highly recommend his class.

As long as you come to class and keep up with the notes, you'll do great. Tandy is available through email for questions and is awesome at getting back to his students. No text book was required but could be purchased if you wished to spend the money. Tandy has wonderful teaching methods that help you remember the material that is being taught.

Dr. Tandy was amazing!!! I laughed everyday in class! plus I learned a lot! The key to getting a good grade is come to class and pay attention. Don't waste your money buying the textbook, he'll teach you everything you need to know. Who knew stats could be fun?

really nice guy!! loves to teach and only teaches you what you need to know. makes a boring subject interesting (as interesting as stats can be!). i highly recommend taking him!! yay tandy!!!

third time taking stats, so far best teacher for this subject. easy going and uses blunt sarcasm to the point where it's hilarious. i can name a brazillion more things, but i'll end it here. by the way, what ever happened to those shirts he was suppose to sell. i was saving all my lunch money for it!

Attendance does not count against you. Grade is based on the three exams you take. I barely go to class but still passed my tests with an A/B/not sure what grade I got for the last test. My technique is go to the class review before every exam. It makes up for all the days you missed. Very nice teacher. Highly recommended.

I swear, this teacher must be a part time comedian on the Strip. He's hilarious! He cracks a brazillion jokes... when he's talking about statistics too. (^_^)

Dick Tandy was one of the best professors I've had. He makes everything very easy and he is pretty funny, which makes the class go by much faster. He is more than willing to help with anything that you don't understand. As long as you show up to class, for the most part, you should get an A.

He's really nice. I took it over summer. Don't buy the book! You don't need it because everything will be in the powerpoint that he provides.His exams are somewhat easy and he provides review sessions before the actual test date.TAKE HIM.

really good professor; very good at explaining concepts. only complaint was that there were only a 3 exams and one final -- and that's all your final grade is made of. no extra credit at all, so if you mess up on one exam, you're going to struggle to keep your grade up. no book required. large classes; attendance not required!

Nursing students should take this class over whatever other stats courses are offered. Awesome course. Easy A if you do the problems he posts online. Attendance? Not a problem if you can understand the material on your own.

I highly recommend Dr. Tandy. I didn't think anyone could teach me statistics and he actually did. This guy is pretty incredible. Here's someone who seems to enjoy teaching and is really good at it. It makes all the difference, he actually makes you feel like you can do it. What a guy.

Awesome Prof. If you put forth a little effort you'll do fine. He also saved me money by not having a textbook to buy, He supplied all the practices for us.

Great class. He explains things well and easily approachable if you still don't understand. Very funny. Test problems are similar to those practiced in class. Since lessons are based on lectures, it's best if you make it to every class. If anything, he'll give you a good laugh.

If you show up to class and pay attentiong, you will get a very good grade. Clear, thorough, and explains things very well.

Tandy is the best professor for stats. If you fear math, take his class and he makes everything as simple as can be. All you need is the calculator and don't even buy the book. He'll tell you himself, he doesn't use it.

i love this prof. he is the best. his lectures are funny and interesting. i was dreading taking stats but he made it completely painless. he explains everything extremely well. tests are MC and pretty much the same thing as the SG. wayy easy. i recommend him highly. easiest A i've had in college so far :)

Great teacher. Recommend to attend class. Explains material very clear. Tests are really easy. No surprises. Everything you learn in class is exactly like the tests. He keeps lectures interesting by telling jokes. Overall, one of the best teachers I had.

Dr. Tandy has been my favorite professor since I started Grad School at UNLV. Yes, his classes generally tend to be easier than comparable ones, but that's because he knows how to turn even mundane topics and make them fun and appealing to everyone. If you're in the Kinesiology Dept. you don't really have a choice but to take his classes, however think of it as a gift because you will enjoy the time spent in his classes.

Mr. Tandy was actually one of my favorite lecture hall professors, hes entertaining and makes the topic more interesting than it is.although attending class is very essential, u do not need to purchase text book. he is very knowledgable of what he is teaching , hes a good professor and we need more professors like him

I put this class off until my senior year because I don't like math. I didn't know that Dr. Tandy would explain everything in a way that I could understand. Stats was one of my favorite classes and Dr. T is an amazing professor. I wish he taught all of my classes!

He was a good teacher, but was late to class on exam day and did not offer extra time. He was 20 minutes late and some students did not finish the test. Over all he was a good teacher and was funny.

Best professor at UNLV. Knows a lot about the subject and clearly passionate. Very funny too. Don't buy the book, attendance isn't mandatory, but he does keep track and surprised he knew our names. If you don't show up however, it will affect your grade. Esp after the first exam (mainly just vocab). Easy A if you show up and put in the effort.

His class was really simple, you dont HAVE to come to class but doing so ensures you will get all the information since there isnt a textbook for the class. Never thought I'd understand statistics but he made it so simple- only reason I didnt ace is because I missed 2 wks of class and didnt really catch up. Overall AMAZING professor!!

Funny, great guy. Easy class! Barely went and I got an A. He takes attendance everyday and it counts for 4% of your grade at the end of the semester. Awesome teacher.

He teaches class only with PPT slides. There is no need to buy a textbook. He makes statistics very easy to learn. He is funny, friendly, helpful and hot for his age. Highly recommended.

Amazing professor! He's very helpful & explains topics well because he is passionate about what he teaches. He also kept the class entertaining with his constant jokes. No need to buy the book because all of his notes are on power points. Understand the study guides he gives before each exam & attend lecture & you should do fine.

Dr. Tandy is great! I was scared to take this class because I am not very good at math at all, but he makes it so easy especially with a calculator! Don't be afraid to take his class if you're not good at math, he makes sure that you understand and have plenty of practices. 4 exams, attendance pts, and (2)1 page paper homework (super easy)

Dr. Tandy is an outstanding teacher. He gives a lot of examples and helpful material, and then goes over them in lecture to drive the concept through. Awesome teacher! Dr. Tandy is really good at using real life examples and his powerpoints are easy to follow. Exams are fairly easy, everything is just vocabulary or formulas and you just plug in numbers. He's funny and something that is irrelevant to his teaching style: He drinks a lot of water during lecture.

Tandy is the best professor! He's clear in what you need to know. It's impossible to fail KIN 300, really. If you attend his lectures and you know how to properly solve one problem then you basically know the whole test. It's just different problems but you solve them the SAME way he teaches you! He can't make this class easier for people.

He is great! If you go to his office to look over your exam he sits right there with you and explains why you missed the problem. Really enjoyed him.

I appreciated the fact he made the powerpoint so clear I didn't have to buy a text book. He does recommend coming to the class (and he thanks us too) but you can actually do well in this class by studying those materials. Even if you're math-phobia, you'll be just fine, because he's the best.

I was really nervous about taking this graduate statistics course, especially since I'm horrible at math. I had a choice between a PSY and KIN for nursing, and I definitely chose correctly. Dr. Tandy is an awesome instructor, he is easy to understand, and very helpful. If you're a nursing grad student, you should definitely take this class!

He was clear on what he wanted from students. No book was required just study his slides if you have any confusion. You will need to buy the calculator that he suggest since it's what he teaches you to use but it super easy if you follow along in class. Good teacher over all.

Great teacher! He explains each lecture very well and gives practice problems with answer keys. Before the exam, he puts up exam preps. Exams are multiple choice and easy if you reviewed the material. Definitely recommend him. He's makes the course more interesting with his sense of humor.

If you have a choice on which statistics course to take, TAKE THIS ONE. Dr. Tandy makes it SO easy to understand. I missed a couple lectures, but was able to pick it up by studying the slides. Dr. Tandy was the best professor I have ever taken for an 8 am class. He is hilarious and keeps you entertained during lecture. He goes through multiple practice problems in lectures which are very helpful. One homework assignment & grades based on tests. Go to review sessions & go over practice problems a few times to guarantee you a good grade.

Dr. Tandy was an awesome instructor! He knows that stats isn't the most exciting topic, but does a great job of keeping class interesting. Funny and not terribly difficult if you actually go to class.

He always gets a laugh out of the class even on test days. Statistics is a "scary" word but he makes it easy to understand by relating it to everyday situations. Tests are straight up with a few curveballs that will put a smile on your face.

I aced the class and It is not the easiest, but if you pay attention, ask questions and study with a group, then there should be no reason not to receive an "A". He is an amazing and entertaining professor. He is also a Savage. P.S. no textbook needed.

Dr. Tandy is the best! His curriculum, charisma, and methods make him an exemplary prof. Very knowledgable about life in health sciences. He's seasoned and knows the ins and outs of making an early class interesting, albeit being a stats req. Use the supplemental practice provided. This class is a godsend! Lastly, expect savage UNR roasts.

This guy knows what he's doing. He made stats so easy to understand. Lectures aren't too boring because he makes the concepts so applicable. He gives out very clear reviews on exactly you need to know for each exam. No reason why you should not pass as long as you use his resources and attend his review days. Very funny, reasonable, and respected.

Love this professor. He's so funny! He made waking up for an 8am class easy. Exams are extremely easy. This is the one class where "cramming" before an exam won't hurt you. If you fail this class, you wanted to. iClicker is used every class, which counts for participation points. I'm glad I got the chance to take this professor, he was hilarious.

Dr Tandy is AMAZING. he is so funny and smart. I hate stats, but he made the class super easy to follow, even if you have a hard time following in class he puts all the material on webcampus (how to use calculator, lecture notes...). I wish he taught A&P or even math courses because he really is an amazing lecturer.

Took this as an online summer course and Dr. Tandy is well organized. Assignments from syllabus are set in stone, dates never change. Responds to emails quickly. Quick pace course due to summer session, put in the time, don't slack, and you can earn an A. Has homework assignments able to be done before due date (take advantage of this) :-)

Prof. Tandy was an incredible stats instructor. Before the impact of Covid he made going to an 8:30 class very worth it, although he doesnt like when people are late. He made the transition into the online platform very easy and painless and recorded very helpful lectures with plenty of review material, with videos as well. I highly recommend him!

This class was super easy, Dr. Tandy posts recordings of the lectures and videos to help with the material, you don't even really need to read the textbook. If you need to take KIN200, I would 110% recommend taking this class with Dr. Tandy.

Took this class in the summer and it was like 4 quizzes and 4 exams total, no homework. As long as you watch the lectures and practice the problems you can get an A. My only problem with Tandy is that he leans on the conservative side and makes some pretty wild statements (particularly regarding mental illness) in his lectures.

I took his class online. There are only quizzes and tests available for grading. If you watch his videos and practice the math a little, you should be able to do well in the class. There's nothing too complex, and his videos are easy to understand.
