Loved this class and Professor Le made it awesome. She's a young professor so is really able to relate to the students. She gives many opportunities to get your grade up. We did not need to buy a textbook. To get a good grade on the lecture exams: come to class, do the reviews and the online HW. For a good grade in lab, come everyday and study hard
I loved her. She is really nice and funny and enjoys her job. She'll let you know what to expect on tests and what to study. There are reviews and homework assignments, and you must do the work to pass. She wants all her students to pass and does whatever she can to help you. I would definitely take her again.
She is nice but does not know what she is teaching. I was totally lost in her lectures, they were boring. Her pronunciation is really bad. I would not recommend her to anyone. I made an A in her class because she gave easy points. If you want A take her, If you want to learn don't take her.
I've enjoyed taking Professor Le! You will not find many professors that cares the way she does! Fairly easy class but you have to study and put forth effort! Do the homework and come to class and you will be fine! She goes over the reviews with you for both lecture and lab exams! She's a very nice lady!
Professor Le is so passionate about her subject and it makes a huge difference in her class. I was only hoping to pass with a C but have an A right now because she makes everything so interesting. You definitely have to study and do the homework. But she has an in class review before every exam. Would definitely recommend her to anyone!
Highly recommend Professor Le for BIO 1301. She gives you plenty of opportunities for extra credit and to pull up your grades. Class consisted of 4 lecture exams and 3 Lab Practicals which you need to study hard for but she will go over everything on the tests. Homework is due the day of the test. One of my favorite classes at San Jac so far.
Great Professor. She is humorous and very active. Ask questions if you don't know because that's a chance to get extra credit! No textbook required. Homework is usually on blackboard. As a Summer class, I thought it would be a lot of work but really, there's nothing to it. I would take her again.
GREAT TEACHER, ABSOLUTELY LOVE BIOLOGY, DONT SKIP, STUDY AND YOU'LL DO GOOD. FLASHCARDS HELP A LOT
Really nice & funny. She's young and can still relate to the students. Tells you what to study for the tests. Easy lab practicals. Gives fun extra credit opportunities. If you had an A average you were exempt from the final. She's passionate about Biology and makes it fun. Best class ever! I would definitely recommend her!
Professor Le was a wonderful teacher who is passionate about Biology. We didn't need a book, her notes were enough and she gives excellent test reviews. I would recommend her.
You use Mcgraw Hill to do everything, which sucks. She doesn't explain anything and the book publisher's site is always less than helpful. From the other comments, it seems she has recently changed her methods. I am not enjoying her class and suggest if you want to learn something to take someone else.
She is an awesome teacher. She gives reviews for Lecture Exams and most of the questions in the exam come from the review sheet.
She is the best teacher for Biology at San Jacinto. She gives clear reviews for all of the exams and lab practicals. If you email her your lab report she will review it before you need to submit it. Please take her class.
Professor Le does a great job covering material and will even answer questions that are not in the material. She is the professor for curious minded students. She wants you to succeed and gives you all the tools to do so. She solidified my interest in pursuing Biology as my major. 10/10 Would take again.
I loved this class and i was not a biology fan. She made me want to learn more. She is very passionate about the material and makes you want to learn. If she would have taught part 2 I would have taken her. Didn't need a textbook. she give lots of extra credit. tests were easy and if your ave. was above an A you were exempt from the final exam.
She is pretty clear on her expectations day one and provides a great syllabus. If you wish to make an A, it requires a full effort to learn the material. Quizzes and tests are tough if you don't study. Group project is pretty easy. The online labs were a little frustrating at times, but other than that I enjoyed the class it was very different.
Instructor Le was nice, but slow to answer emails and post grades. For an online class, that matters. Would not give extra credit opportunities, and test were extremely hard (120 questions with 120 minutes, including several essay questions). When she did answer emails, she was very helpful and would follow through until the issue was solved.
Does not teach much. Gives extra credit. Easy class. If you want to learn, she is not for you.
Ms. Le is a great professor. Sometimes she forgets that she tells us things or didnt tell us things but overall, shes a very good biology professor. I feel like if I paid attention in class, took notes, & studied, I was able to do well on the tests. Although her exams were really long like 100 questions in 60 mins, all you really have to do is study
You learn from the book, which I wasn't surprised because I took her online. Not too difficult. 20 question quiz, lecture and virtual lab every week. Tests are about 75 questions and you get 2 hours. The only thing is hated was the group project. Group projects in an online class are awful.
Study her notes and homework and you'll pass. My only complaint is that she is extremely unorganized, so be prepared to deal with that. Grades take about a week or two to be posted for any assignment given. Gives extra credit and if you have an A average at the end of class you get to exempt final.
She is an awesome professor. She is helpful, always helps you study better. I highly recommend her class.
Professor Le was outstanding. Her class is very difficult but she gives a lot of extra credit. If you study you will pass.
If you are not willing to work do not take. Her assignments are easy and straight forward. I had a lot going on in my personal life and even then I was able to pass the class. Would have gotten an easy A if I would have put in the right time and work. She is very responsive to emails. Hate anything with science but would def. take her class again.
Professor Le was great. I really enjoyed her class. The class moves very fast and she does test heavy, but gives the opportunity to challenge her grading on tests and plenty of extra credit opportunities. The only complaint that I had was how long it took her to grade tests.
Professor Le is extremely nice. She makes the lectures and fun, I definitely recommend taking her!! You will not regret it!
Le is an excellent professor, she is hilarious and understanding, She makes lectures really fun, 4 exams with 100 questions (but they are easy), drops the lowest test grade. No textbook was required, no online code required, although we used Sapling to do homework. She gives a good amount of extra credit. I would definitel take her again!!!!!!!!!!!
I took Professor Le, she is awesome she really knows how to keep you interested in the class. !!!!
Professor Le is by far the best professor I've had at San Jac. She's incredibly intelligent and passionate about teaching and making sure you learn. Her exams are 100 questions but they are easy if you are present for lectures. The amount of extra credit is amazing. I highly recommend Le to anyone who's struggled with science courses before.
Professor Le was a pretty good teacher. This class did require a textbook with a code. It also requires you to read. You have five exams and the lowest grade is dropped. The exams range from seventy-two questions to one hundred twenty. You also have assignments, labs, quizzes and a project. As long as you read and participate you should be fine.
Since I took this class online, I would have to say it was pretty easy. Her work is straight forward and she grades quickly. There was one group project, but it was simple and your grade didn't rely upon your group members. As long as you do your work there's no reason why you shouldn't pass. She rounded my final grade up from a B+ to an A.
I love professor Le! If you are not really into Biology like me, not to worry because she makes it fun. There are 4 group projects overall, easy to do if you have a really great group. 4 exams that are doable if you study and review. There is a lot of opportunity to earn bonus points for the exam (kahoot, participation). She is just so wonderful!
Professor Le is a great professor. I do not like Biology, but professor Le made it fun and I was able to pass with an A. You do not have to take final if you do great and have an A average, with good standing, by the end of the semester. Attendance and participation is required!
I'll start off by saying that if I can pass this class so can you. I work a full time job & she gives a lot of work. I recommend that you do ALL the assignments so at the end of semester it will help your grade. I emailed her lots of times & she always responded. The layout of the class is easy to follow which was very helpful to me. Good Luck!
Taking Professor Le was one of the best things I have ever done. She is inspiring, funny, and very knowledgeable. She will make you have an appreciation for Biology you may have lacked before. She gives numerous extra credit opportunities and every opportunity to succeed. You simply have to put in the work.
I am AWFUL at biology. I despise the subject. I took professor Le, and she is FANTASTIC! She drops your lowest test grade, all "quizzes" are extra points for you testing average, not actual quiz grades. She is very helpful and passionate which makes her a great professor. Take her!!!
Really caring about her students and offers a lot of ways to earn extra credit. She also exempts you from the final if you have an A!
Mrs. Le is amazing. I actually really enjoyed her biology class. There were a couple of group projects, but no lab exams. (I took the non-science major class) She is super sweet and funny. Her tests were a bit confusing because she put questions with purposely wrong answers, but you could end up with a much higher grade after you point them out.
Professor Le is very intelligent and is able to help you clearly understand the content. The reviews she gives are all you need to study for her test. She will give pop quizzes, but they are for extra credit. If you miss every question, it has no penalty. You also get bonus points on test for speaking in class and answering every question.
She is the greatest! Her lectures are so amazing that I switched my major from Business to Biology! I would definitely recommend her to anyone who wants to learn and have a fun time!
SHE IS AMAZING!!! She truly cares for her students and wants everyone to get an A. She offers all kinds of help so that you can pass her course. She does pop quizzes WHICH DO NOT AFFECT YOUR AVERAGE, whatever you make on the pop quiz is bonus points for your exams. Carry an A average and get exempt from the final. BEST TEACHER IN THE WORLD!!!!!!!!!
This is the best professor I've ever had. She is with you to support you every step of the way in this class. She goes as fast as you want her to during lectures, and will stop during her lecture. She also gives extra credit on the test if you ask questions in class and answer every question on the test.
Took her 4 Bio 4 Non-Sci Mjrs. Her grade book consist of: 3 lecture exams which r 100 q. ea. (40% of the avg. of the 3); lab grades including 2 lab projects & presentation (30% of the avg. of the 2); common assignment (10%); online HW (10%); comprehensive final (10%). If your class grade is an A ur exempt from taking the final. Exams r super easy!!
Professor Le is the professor that is able to make something that is generally boring entertaining. Her class isn't too hard; 4 test with the lowest dropped, 3 lab projects with one presentation, pop quizzes that are extra credit, kahoot for extra credit, a final exam, and a few homework assignments. She is the best professor out their.
By far the best professor I have had, and probably ever will have. She truly does care about you succeeding and will really go the extra mile for her students if they deserve it. You do have to work hard for the class, but I think she makes it fun enough that it doesn't feel like work. Amazing professor and I would HIGHLY recommend her.
Pop quizzes are extra credit. Her class is not hard and she wants you to pass. She brings in food before test, so amazing.
She is a great person and very passionate about biology. She gives lots of extra credit. If you are bio illiterate, this class could be stressful and hard. The lectures are a lot to process. STUDY ALOT. 4 exams 100+ ques, 3 was 50 ques& lowest drops or exempt from final,2 lab projects, 3 hw/study assign, presentation, common assign, 4 teamwork eval
Loved her!! Made class so much more fun and interesting, and not too hard!!
So here is my HONEST take on professor Le and, heres some handy advice for everyone that decides to take her. She is an amazing professor and very sweet. Even if you arent bio literate she will still pass you. BUT do not get with a group that is LAZY please do well in lab and try your best in lecture. Put in the hard work and youll pass :-)
She was an okay teacher not terrible. Fairly clear grading criteria. The class was fairly easy. Do the work and pass. She sometimes take a while to email you back. Overall, the class was very easy. Would take it again.
I took Professor Le online and although this class wasn't very hard, it was at times extremely difficult to get in touch with her. This is frustrating because it was a 100% online course and communication didn't seem to be a priority for her.
Professor Le is a great teacher, however, she is lacking in the communication department ( she would not reply to your emails right away) which was very frustrating since the course moved to 100% online. Everything else is easy though.
I would recommend her for an online class. The class is easy to follow. Don't let the group project intimidate you ... its not hard and with the help of your group it makes it even more easy. She doesn't really reply to emails but she is really good at providing instruction online. Take her for BIO you wont regret it !
DO NOT take online! Worst professor to respond. Takes over a week for her to respond. The assignments are WAY too long and you get 3-4 assignments that only count for attendance. I wish she did a video lecture like other professors have done. She may be better in person but I am telling you DO NOT take online! Everything I learned was not from her.
She is an amazing professor. The pop-quizzes will only count as extra credit, so no worries if you do badly on it. Out of your four lecture exams, she drops the lowest one. Also, you can be exempt from the final if you do well enough in the class. As a side note, she brings in sweets on the days of the exams to get everyone's glucose working.
She gives out a lot of assignments but its mostly for attendance. Its a lot of work but an easy A if you just complete everything. She does not respond to emails right away, it could be up to a week before she answers it otherwise over all she was an easy A.
Professor Le is nice but grades are based on exams quizzes ONLY. This class is a LOT of work every Sunday, 2 labs, homework, quizzes & long test reviews are due before exams. Be prepared to study HEAVILY. Yea she's nice but she is not lenient. Memorizing the test review isn't enough & she'll tell ya that. Don't take unless you're very passionate.
She is a really great professor. There is a lot of work she assigns but it is manageable. The exams are difficult if you do not study but she provides exam reviews and holds review sessions. She makes sure her students understand the material and breaks it down very well.
this was a 8 week course, in my 6 years experience i have neveeerrrr! experienced a class like this one. About 5 people in my class dropped the class because of how much work there was. the tests dont even make sense. This is suppose to be anon major science class, my sister is a nurse and her biology class was not this hard. DO NOT TAKE THIS PROF.
I enjoyed Professor Le and the course! She explains whats expected of you the from the beginning of the semester. I took her 8 week nutrition class and every week we had 2 quizzes, and 1-2 assignments. Professor Le is good at communication and does responds in a good time manner, just dont wait until the last minute to reach out to her.
Took her online and overall she was a great and respectful teacher, her exams were tough but she does lecture reviews with the class and counts them as extra credit. You really need to pay attention in the class or youll definitely get lost. Homework, labs and quizzes every week.
There are 4 tests (drop lowest - 30% of grade) & cumulative final (10%) , group project (10%) , and each chapter has questions, quiz and labs (50%). Qs, quiz and lab open book, so not too hard. Group project easy. Overall easy grader. She responds in 2-3 days. Tests were very hard.
quiz too hard and a lot of questions for a short period of time lots of work
This class was not easy. I took it online. The one I took was for non-science majors, but it was still very difficult. There are 4 proctored exams. If you do well in her class, you will be exempt from the final. I had to drop her class and use a different teacher. She is very nice, but I wouldn't recommend taking her, if you want to pass.
I took her online class and this is a very hard class. You can get up to 9 assignments in one week and some assignments are 100 questions long plus exams 100 questions long. I didnt have much time to study because there is no time to study. I had to drop out of class and choose a different professor.
This is a great professor! She doesn't respond to emails that much so don't plan on getting a reply. But she tells you what she expects. If you don't study, don't expect to pass. She is somewhat lenient and allows for bonus points on tests. I was nervous about taking her class due to the comments, but it's nothing like they say, she's better.
Prof. Le was an awesome professor! I was really nervous on starting bio especially as a dual credit student but she made the course really do-able. The class isn't hard you just need to focus and put in study time and you'll be fine. As for in the class she's really caring and the most down to earth professor I've ever had. Def would take again.
Professors Le's class is to demanding. She gives out the study guide late. And only gives us a week to study for major exams. Her lectures are to fast paced and her directions are vague. Defiantly do not take if you enjoy having a social life. Not very helpful in explaining materials.
You will pass this class if you study and maintain your schedule organized. I didnt take it seriously at first and this resulted in me barely passing the first exam. Each test is about 80 questions and they are 6/10 on the difficulty level, but you will def pass if you go to her study sessions! Shes very nice and quick to help if youre stuck.
Professor Le is very knowledgeable about the subject and passionate in her presentation of material. There is a lot of material on the subject and the tests are designed to show her you know the subject. She will always make herself available for a student and do everything she can to help them. Drops the lowest exam score form the average.
I really truly enjoyed my time with the professor. Took time out of her schedule to have review days on Friday and provided everything we need to know for the test. I highly recommend this professor!
So extremely nice! you can tell how much she cares for her students and will everything in her power to help them. I would definitely take her again she was truly an amazing professor.
Professor Le is the kindest teacher ever! She would always lighten up the class environment. She also always brought food during exams. Her tests do have a ton of material, but you get a notecard so make sure to study. Also there are lots of group projects that boost up your grade I would definitely request her if I were to take this course again.
There is no lecture associated with the online only option so get ready to teach yourself biology just from the online textbook. Tests are not clear- answers are jumbled together and are monitored and don't really seem to follow the textbook or the ungraded homework. There is a group project which always sucks. The hardest class I have taken.
Just dropped this course, was taking it for a 5 week course. I understand is a heavy course with many things to learn, especially in a crunch time, but the work load is a full time job. You will not be able to do anything else. It was the most stressful week, and I have taken 3wk classes. Required class for non-science major, and crazy work load.
Overall the course is okay, get ready for a lot of reading if you're taking an online class. You have a quiz after each chapter, Exams are proctored. She does give study guides, but not very helpful (in my opinion). Also one group project and she assigns the students. She does reply fairly quick on emails.
Get ready for a lot of reading if you're taking an online class. You have a quiz after each chapter, signature tests are horrible. Exams are proctored - you have to download it and have your camera on, which I think is ridiculous and invading privacy. Study guides are not very helpful. There's one group project and she assigns the students.
She loves and cares about her students just as she does for biology. Lecture is heavy just because it's a science class, but she gives good instruction on the subject. Lab is fun and she explains it very well.
Professor Le is such a sweet & caring person! She truly cares for her students & wants them to succeed. She is a great professor & always makes sure her students understand the material. She is amazing and I would recommend everyone to take her! As long as you do the work and get it done by the end of the semester you will do fine!
This is my second semester with Professor Le. She's so passionate in lecture, and really makes it as easy as possible to grasp the material. She's such a kind and caring professor too, htf. Bio isn't my strongest subject, & I have a high B. Easy exams, group projects, a signature assignment, and plenty of extra credit up for grabs!
Professor Le was amazing. Wish all of my professors were like her.
Took her online for BIOL 1 and 2, 8 week classes and she is very nice. There's LOTS of homework if you do it this way so make sure you have time to do it, or you will fall behind. Exams are proctored, and there is a group project that is fairly easy. She replies fast to emails and is very clear on what to do for each week. would def take again
Diep Le was very sweet but she was not well organized for our class. She was hard to get ahold of and didn't even lectured us hardly. Each exam we had to look over it because the scantrons weren't even corrected by 4-7 question's. She didn't even know that her notes did not follow her PowerPoint. And we missed major points because of her lazy self.
she is amazing and she loves to interact with the people. she is very undertanding with the student and the way she teach is fun.
NOT organized at all. Does not respond to emails in a timely manner. She does not teach very well at all. Other teachers have Ka boots to help and helpful guides. She has guided notes worth only 1.25 points and they are AWFUL... they do not help and not worth the extra time to do. I wouldn't recommend this class at all. You teach yourself!
I took Professor Hernandez this fall semester and got ready for a bunch of lab assignments, quizzes, and unit tests. She is so unorganized when it comes to putting due dates for assignments when the class starts. Also, she barely answers any emails if you try to reach out to her. If anyone wants a shot at her class go for it. Just don't take her.
She is the kindest angel ever. Her lectures are informative, never boring, and inspiring. In my class, she sat down with everyone in the classroom and reviewed the concepts from beginning to end. Her efforts stretches far beyond your expectations! She is super understanding and builds meaningful relationship with her students in just five months.
prof. Le was ok. She would teach like if everyone had the knowledge she has in Biology (i sucked), her lectures felt rushed most days. her exams are protected, she is a fair professor tho and if you ask her for help she will help and make sure you pass her class and learn. one major lab report, nothing crazy, extra credit its good.
UNORGANIZED not computer savvy deletes assignments she can't get in bb even after some students completed in McGraw horrible grading structure literally 89 assignments in 8 weeks requires 32 hrs a week does not understand condensed course grades assignments after end of semester not supportive. Choose another professor nice does not equal good.
Group project is an experiment. If you do not get certain results there is an unwritten rule that you have to do it again or else you get a poor grade. Which means buying the supplies however many times it takes you to get whatever results are acceptable. Which you will not know till after semester ends which is when she grades projects. Don't take
unGODLY amount of homework, like at least 70+ mcgraw hill concepts a week + homework + quiz. big time waster
ungodly amount of homework, like at least 70+ mcgraw concepts a week alongside homework and quizzes.
SO much homework lol. would never take this again, but I also chose an 8-week course. She doesn't do lecture videos also so you teach yourself.
Online 16 week course- pretty easy if you do the work, just A LOT of work and time consuming. One or two Smartbook assignments every week and those take FOREVER. PLUS several quizzes, tests, labs etc per week. No lecture videos are provided. Proctored tests at the end of each unit but has plenty of graded things they dont significantly hurt you
She sucks. 0/10 extremely selfish professor with high expectations and entirely unrealistic. "If you think this is a full time job then it is"...talking about dedicating 32 or 36hrs a WEEK to her class only. as if no other class exists and its a biology class for NON SCIENCE MAJORS. L.
This professor is a kind professor. She cares about her students, is responsive, and communicates well. That being said, the other reviews are right. I took an 8-week course. There were about 120 "concepts" per week, which translated to 360 questions to complete in 7 days. Plus other assignments. The content is easy; the workload is hard.
