He is agressive, singles people out to berate and is unclear. He speaks very quickly and has a heavy accent. Not the guy you want for a math teacher. He is very impatient.
Best teacher ever you need to be able to follow him thats the trick easy marker he give credits were credits are due
He is impatient at first but when you get to know him he is very nice and helpfull, he will do anything for you to understand.
he is an amazing teacher, maybe a little scary at first but he is always there to help, you just have to put a little bit of efforts into it! take him if you could
He has very odd way of teaching , actualy not teaching.
I couldn't stand going to class for he made me feel flushed, emberassed, and told me "History majors should not be taking math courses". I did not like him in the slightest. His heavy accent was a huge barrier, and he yelled at me for taking notes. I know, what's that all about?
Great professor! Highly concerned about the knowledge of his students. Always available for consultations. Extremely dedicated to what he does. Finally, just for the record, the students who rated him bad are the ones who don't want to put any effort. Don't blame your prof!Go to class! Do your work!
He is a great deal for most of the students..i find him very good in teaching his subject..clear in exlaining,i beleive he is very smart also,or even a geneous..i think he cares alot about his students but he is a bit strict in his midterms..i find him a very intresting teacher when it comes to math
nothing can expalin him more that the word perfection ,teaching is his game and he is the best player in it
Knowledgeable mathematician who, apparently, does not like to teach at low levels. Writes as fast as he speaks (mach 1). Fair marker but intimidating in class. Opiniated and judgemental. Do the work, ask questions AFTER class. Nice person out of classroom.
One of the best teachers i ever had. He knows his stuff, at the beginning he's really fast but later on you get his material easily. Very helpfull.A+++
Best math teacher
i can say with confidence that he is one of the best mathematitions in montreal, really knowledgable, very strong teacher.i didn't pay attention at the beging but after 3 classes i was sorry for what i missed of this amazing teaching, nice to his students, flexible office hours,a bit hard midterms, equal to final level, great deal,no stress at the final
Very clear..doesn't seem friendly at the begining..but one of the most honest and friendly people i've ever met..very down to earth..encourages everyone and helps all his students..if you want an A+ with him you have to solve his material(guys its the exact same level of the final)..honestly 2 thumbs up..his passion is to see someone understand.
i took those courses a while back but let me tell u do some work and u will get an A he is too good just pay attention. You will hate him at first but you will love him when you are not going to have any stress for the final
Hes good. 2 points!
talent couldn't be teached..i think he is gifted by having the ability to make people understand..weather you like his accent, his attitude or not..if you pay attention in class and do your work you will solve any problem and i mean any problem..and approaching this man outside the classroom makes you change your mind about who he really is..A+++
Probably the single best math prof I've ever had. All you need to do is show some interest and he'll bend over backwards for you. His course material is excellent. Tests are very fair. Explains VERY WELL. Zero tolerance for slackers and idiots, which I love! Always has bonus questions in his midterms, worth the effort. BEST EVER.
Good prof with good notes on PDF. Exams are straightforward and if you do poorly its because you did not study.
Single most great teacher. He explains very well the course material. He is always willing to repeat and make you understand. He has lots of patients. His exams are relative to the course. He's a fair marker. As long as you work you will do good in his class. And his notes on PDF are amazing.
Very good teacher! I got A- in his course. I would take him again. Don't sleep in his class, he likes to bug students that sleep.
Dr.D is very passionate about this course and provides the student with all the resources necessary for complete understanding of the subject. A true master of approximation theory. the only problem was that he writes too small and the classroom was not adequate for this course. Other than that, I was very impressed with his teaching.
Great Teacher and great course! Most of the notes are detail and is useful than the book. Make sure to do all assignments personally. If not, you might not do well in mid-term and final.
one of the best teachers i`ve ever met, very helpful and nice person,he cares about every thing which might relate to the course and knows exactly what you may lack(in terms of using the technique, some pshycological part sometimes).his notes is very useful even more than the book but try your best to attend all the classes.in short, his the best 4A+
Very good teacher & very concerned about his students.
Great teacher, will pass the knowledge carefully and accordingly so that you feel comfortable in the final and future in mathematics. has alot of patience but all he requires is you do you work, your practice and listen so you avoid stupid question that delay the class. Comes from Europe and teaches in the European fashion which is what we lack.
Dr. Dryanov is the greatest professor at Concordia, no joke. He will help you for hours to pass the exams, all he asks is work on your part. Words cannot begin to describe how great he is. Incredible.
Simply the best. Had him for 4 math classes and got As in all 4. Hands down, best teacher at concordia.
He is the best teacher i had!!! Very helpfull and his notes on Moodle are great easy A for his class Defenately recomend to take him
He is a bit strange, but serious and enthusiastic teacher. Sends you lots of e-mails.
Greatest professor in the world. Simple as that.

best math teacher ever!! for real!!! real dedicated teacher that does all that is possible to help the students ouT!! thx proff!!
Awesome prof. He knows what he's doing. Builds confidence in you. No other teacher at university is like him. Dr.Dryanov is awesome ! He is truly a doctor of math !!!!
Dr. Dryanov is and by far the best teacher that anyone can ever get.
Best prof ever!!! Excellent.
As others have said, this guy is top notch. Pay attention, demonstrate interest and you will get a good grade and also learn something along the way! In so many math classes you can get a good grade without even understanding the what the math actually means. Not with this guy. This guy does his best to have you actually *understand* the math!
great!
Very good instructor. One of the best Concordia has on staff!
This guy is a champ. Go to class, u will understand and do well. I wish he taught more engineering courses!!!
explains everything sooo clearly, always willing to help you, go to office hours, he is a must to take...
I used to hate him while taking 203 however, I took him again for math 205 I couldn't attend I felt it's boring class and he couldn't teach I used the book it was very helpful his pdf notes are very very very helpful I went to his office hours once and I relized that he's the best of the best.
The best of all the best. He is always willing to help and motivates everyone to participate in discussions in class. He is also very helpful and extremely nice.
Friendly, not bad at explaining, but does not take questions well at all. Will blow a fuse if asked question thought unnecessary.
Very helpful but sometimes gets too personal with the students and insults them like as if they were his slaves. Makes fun of weak students and even of strong students when they're not quick enough to give an answer. Easy marker.
Happy Birthday, Mitko! Kostadin
very helpful, cares about students in general and even more about students who care. his notes are the best studying and understanding them is more than enough for at least A-. his exams are very very fair nothing out of his notes. if u have any problems with the course go to his office- dont ask him in class- he will help u easy marker.TAKEHIM
He's pretty badass. I wouldn't mind him accompanying me through a nuclear zombie apocalypse, I think he's a pretty cool guy who doesn't afraid of anything
I will say it's a really cool teacher. It's brilliant to choose his math corse.
Loves math and hates slackers. Great teacher however hes very straightfoward and if ur questions push him to believe that u are not doin ur work he ll let u know. Attend his classes!!!
Good teacher. Doesn't take nonsense or questions that are just blurted out. Likes students that have a willingness to learn. Wouldn't recommend him for someone who hasn't taken Calc I before but overall good teacher. His accent can be a little hard to understand at times but you get used to it.
He's helpful, he cares if you learn or not and is a good man, but he's also a grumpy old Russian man who is often condescending if you don't know your stuff. Overall, fair.
He's a great teacher, he's very easy to understand and follow. He gets a bit grumpy at students that don't work hard.
This professor is the best concordia has ever seen , explanations are very clear , notes are amazing , all questions are solved on board , not garbage slideshows like the rest . he cares he answers questions , exams are fair . Take him but don`t miss classes or try to interupt the class he will get grumpy , follow his lectures you will get an A+ .
great professeur definitely THE BEST I'EV EVER HAD his lecture slides are amazing strongly recommend
All university professors should take a lesson from him. He provides the most amazingly clear notes on moodle, and does many examples in class. He is always willing to help, and pushes his students to excel at the subject. His exams are based on his assigned problems, so if you do them, you'll get an amazing mark. Highly recommended!
He at least shows that he enjoys teaching. Does his job well, if you don't understand him in class, just go to office hours and he will explain and solve the problems for you and it will be very clear. He gives you feedbacks for what to study and sometimes general life advices as well... Overall very good teacher.
The man deserves an award... that is all
This prof is amazing. I actually wish my schedule could allow me to take him for ENGR 233. If you have the chance to take him, do take him!
Okay, here's the deal with Dryanov. I came into his class, first day of university, and though to myself, "is this guy for real"? hes kinda hard to understand at first. Stick with him. He is honestly super fair. Always gives bonus marks on tests. Youll have to take initiative outside of class, but hes great. The final was a JOKE. Take him!
"Do not talk! How many times do I have to tell you this ? " "Hence, the differential equation iz ezaaaaact"
He is a Must Take, guarantee that you will learn a lot! Encourages students to think in class. Amazing teacher.
First class I was like "He is terrible, hate him annoying......" but after a few classes recognized he is perfect for this course. He can get a little grumpy sometimes but he is good. His notes are excellent material. Just understand and solve the examples from his notes and you will definitely ace the final.
Honestly I initially thought he was a bad teacher. The first lecture I had trouble understanding him and his notes on the board were not very clear. But after a couple of classes I got used to it and learnt to appreciate his style. He goes through the material at a reasonable pace and provides a lot of helpful extra material on moodle
Great professor who does many examples on the board as any math teacher should do. However, I advise you to keep silence in class in order to not see his bad side...
He can be condescending at times, but in most cases I'd say that he's justified. If you're having trouble go to his offices hours, because he has little sympathy for those who struggle but don't take advantage of office hours. His examples are exactly what to expect on tests. Very fair. Do the assignments. Show up, pay attention and you'll do fine.
maintains dicipline in the class lectures are very clear and detailed with good examples and quite a few of them as well. gives a break lol starts the class on time
The best math teacher of concordia. Seriously, any test or midterm or even the final is way to easy for all the preparation they require so do every example he put in his notes and you'll be more than okay.
Comes off as being mean and sometimes even condescending, but after a while I realized that he really does care if you learn the material and will make sure you do with ample examples and a focus on the theory. Overall a great prof, I didn't think I would do well in calculus, but with him I ended up with an A+.
Excellent teacher, he knows how to teach math in a way that will maximize the absorption of information. His classes are also energetic and lively, which helps with students' ability to stay focused. Very quick corrections as well, the final was graded about a week after it was written.
Yeah, I failed the final due to the university scheduling classes and exams at the same week, leaving very little room for preparation. Otherwise, it is an easy A if you show up, participate in class, and do exactly as he tells you. Cares about his students, and all the notes he gives on the board are the solutions to the exams and assignments
Amazing teacher
HEY PEOPPLLLLEEE, YOU NEED TO STUDY!!! I ZAW THE FINAL EXAM AND IF YOU DIDNT ZTUDY YOU WILL FAIIIIIILZ!! showed up to final (took cal 3 in CEGEP) without studying and booooom I got A+. Don't sit in front of the class, even better dont show up at all. Tutorials are free 15%. Be cool like me and just show up to final. I surfed the bell curve.
He's very good at explaining difficult topics and he has no tolerance for students speaking during class. No one got an F on his final exam during the semester I had him for Applied Advanced Calculus.
He's a tough love type of teacher but is honestly wonderful and gives the most pristine notes. I was intimated by calculus 1 at first but managed to breeze through it. He doesn't tolerate slackers and those who wish to waste their time, which is understandable. I would, without a doubt, take him again!
100% Russian education school, honest, respectfully, passed with A-. A lot of helpfully problems on moodle. One of the best teachers at Concordia.
As one of the first math classes in engineering, I really enjoyed my experience with this teacher. how to get a 100 in the exams ? review the webworks/ assignments/ textbook problems and you will do great. Show up in classes for good examples that often appear in exams. The class is well structured and the material is clear
Explains really well on the blackboard, but hard to follow when displaying pdf. Intimidating and "old math Russian prof style". Available if you need help. If you don't show effort understanding on your own or staying up to date, he won't like you. Graded by a lot of things, so you can catch up. Easy course if you don't fall behind.
Solid teacher!
At the beginning I thought he is terrible but throughout the semester and especially in his office hours I noticed I was wrong. He explains the material very well if you listen, and the exams are 100% from his PDF notes. Even if you do not go to the class and read all the online notes and understand the methods instead of memorizing you'll get an A
Halarious guy, 10/10 would take him again. Two midterms, which is good if you screw up the first one like I did. Got 58% in the first misterm and finished with A+.
Good notes and good examples in class. 100% will take again. Easy A+!
Finally someone who cares about learning. He Explains abstract concepts with ease. Provides lots of homeworks. If you are devoted you will do well by the end you will learn a lot. He prepares very well for a long lasting learning (Life learning). Fair, very knowledgable, cares about efforts, student learning curve and success.
Decent math instructor. Gives a lot of bonus marks for midterms, quizzes. The course is hard but he teaches well. No textbooks are required and he gives good examples all the time. He prepares your final.
If you do all the assigned questions then you dont need to go to classs, he also posts really good notes online, and gives loads of bonus marks on the exams and quizzes. Overall hes a really good prof, one of the best in concordia.
best notes in concordia hands down you don't even need to go to class
He is a very good teacher who cares about student progress and success. Follow his pace do all exercises he provides plus some of the book and you will shine. If you work hard you will get what you deserve. You better show up to class as he notices all efforts.
He is an average teacher but he is interested in his students. so He will try his best so that you can succeed
One of the only good math teachers I've had at Concordia, and by far the best. He takes the time to go step by step with lots of examples, and will try his best to make sure everyone understands the material before moving on. Highly recommend
Very intimidating, he should not be a teacher when he makes a girl cry by telling her that he pities that she believes she deserves a better grade... Very unapproachable teacher and he should be ashamed of who he is to only grade on his way even though the actual answer and work was correct by every other method.
He's awesome, makes the students understand the material and TAKE HIM IF YOU CAN.
Nice guy who cares about students success! He lectures well but very theoretical and not very interactive which I'd say they're not essential to do well. But he answers questions by email fast, his notes are great and his midterms are pretty simple!
EZ A. Best teacher out there. His class is never an obstacle, it's a blessing.
LITERALLY THE BEST TEACHER OF CONCORDIA! HIS NOTES ARE THE READ-AND-PASS TYPE. MAKES YOU PARTICIPATE IN CLASS WHICH IS VERY HELPFUL! SIMPLY THE THE THE BEST! Lots of examples to consolidate our knowledge of the material. Again, he is THE BEST!
Ugh. To be fair I took the class during covid and maybe he's just not great with zoom? All I know is that I learnt 90% of the material independently and it was rough.
Cares about students' succes: gives you all the tools/help to succeed
Dryanov is a good teacher. The first class you might have mixed emotions about him but as the semester passes you'll see that he cares about the success of his students. Midterms and quizzes are easy. Do the exercises from the manual+WBW and you'll do great but the final is crazy hard since it's made by all the profs. PEOPLE YOU NEED TO STUDY xD!
He gives detailed notes, but then he just read them for every single lecture. He barely even looked up at the camera. I taught myself everything on my own. He also would ask questions in lectures then laugh at people if they got it wrong and tell them they need to study, and not in a good way. However, he was one of few that gave good study guides
He does not teach well but hes too caring and he was the only professor who posted the midterm solutions. I self study this course but at the same time, I used the professors notes which were neat and included lots of examples. If you want to self study this course, I would recommend taking it with him.
He was very caring and replied all of my emails very fast. He can seem a little bit aggressive time to time but I think the only reason for that is he really wants his students to be successful.
(Remote during fall 2020) At Concordia math 203 is 90% weight is dedicated to exams. So practicing for that is the most important thing. Other than that we only had assignments to do. But whenever Id go for class he always seemed really frustrated with us and the online delivery of the course. Not welcoming to questions, expects u to know it all.
Dryanov is the best teacher ever. He truly cares for the students and wishes them to be successful. I was lucky enough to have him both for ENGR 213 and ENGR 233. His midterms are fair and clear, if you have studied with his notes or with the textbook. If I could take him for each class, I would!
Course notes which he provides is very comprehensive. He prepares you for exams well. If you listen to his lectures and repeat at home examples which he provides, you will succeed. You have to know the prerequisite well. He sounds rude sometimes, but he really cares about the students. He answers his emails.
This was the worst professor I have ever had. He violates confidentiality rules of the university. He does not have office hours apart from a few minutes after the class where questions are answered. I did well on this class because I struggled and studied independently. I hope his class for Winter 2021 gets audited by the university.
Goes through lectures pretty fast, however cares and will answer questions. If you do the assigned problems you will be fine for the tests, fair grading.
- Gives good partial marks and grades generously - Gives bonus marks if you need to improve your grade - Has amazing notes - Midterms reflect what you study. Do the textbook problems and you are golden. - Amazing during office hours He is great, he just tells you everything like it is. So, if you haven't studied he will tell you to study.
Very good teacher. His handwritten notes are amazing. This class isn't easy but if you do your exercises at home you are good to go!! He looks like he's always yelling but it's really just the way he talks. Go to his lectures before the midterm, final, and team assignments because he gives clues to those who show up:)
