Very helpful teacher. Tests are fair. Funny teacher...he's Russian, so he's got some Armenian-ism in him.
Best Math Teacher....Ever. Makes every day of math class a joy. Tests are a bit hard, but nothing a little studying can't fix.

I took his class during summer 2003 and he was great. very funny, and has a great teaching method. very good teacher
Great teacher, Extremly smart and knowledgable. Tests are tricky but fair. The test questions are right off the book and homework. You never get tired in his class.

EXTREMLY SMART & KNOWLEDGABLE. Very helpful, nice, & has great teaching method. You never get tired in his class. I wish he was full-time teacher at GCC. Test questions are right off the book and homework. All you have to do is homework, and aske quations whatever you did not understood, he will explain 1000 time if you need that.

Mr. Budarin is a great instructor! He explains everything very well and he is quite funny.
Great teacher! I finally began to understand math. He's very passionate about math, and he makes it fun, if that's even possible. He has a very dry sense of humor, and his tests are very challenging. In the end, you're very prepared for the next step.
The best teacher ever!!! Highly recommend to take his class. Very clear explanations, if you dont get the material he'll explain thousands of times untill you actually get it. Veeery patient. Just dont miss his classes as the book is not that clear. Take notes and you'll get a good grade.

He is one of the greatest math teachers I have ever had; it is true he has a deep voice and thick accent, but in a week to get used to it and you understand everything he says. If you just do the homework this course should be a straight A. He is very knowledgeable and he knows how to teach.

Arrogant and inconsiderate of students' feelings. Only take his class if you want to be insulted and told how bad you are every time you ask him a question.Tries to make dry jokes and never shows any emotions towards his own jokes. Preaches students on how they should live and tells his usually negative opinion about everything.

These other raters make Mr. Dimitri out to be like Chris Rock.He only makes funny-ish comments MAYBE twice per class. The mood of the class is drab, the lights are yellow, and his energy-level is low. He IS a very intelligent man, he makes students feel like crap tho if you don't know the answer,no matter what your age!

Very demeaning teacher, makes you do homework & study hard for test, then makes up a version that is way harder then examples within the book. Jokes are dry and doesn't care if you pass or not. Does not encourage students to ask questions, bcus if you do he will embarrass you in front of class. Worst experience ever, dropped right b4 drop date.

GCC needs more and more professors like Mr.Budarin. He is a really good techer, though he has accent,but it does not lack his ability to tech the class apropirately, so if u know the language, his accent is not a prob at all.He is very fair grader, and his tests are easy,so,if u are above the kindergarten age,this professor is recommended.!!!!!!!!!
He's a good teacher. He explains math pretty good. However, once you understand the material, he screws you over by giving you a test that will get you to fail. He needs to understand that students have other classes to prepare for.

I don't know what people are talking about! He is a great teacher! He is clear. His jokes are funny and you have to be really stupid not to understand the way he teaches. He is very clear in explaining and for an older dude, he's cute. He looks like a hotter alan rickman.

I am a very hard working student who decided to return to school after 25 years. I am at 3.94 GPA since i started studying again 2 years ago (completing 35 units)until I met this teacher. He is very Arrogant, Condescending and Egocentric. If you don't want to LOSE YOUR SELF-RESPECT, Confidence and self-esteem, PLEASE DON"T TAKE HIS CLASS!!!!
He is the best Math teacher, it is not easy one for those who are lazy and does not want to take his class serious, i am full time employee and was not easy for me either, but he will grant you if you really studied hard and would appriciate your effort. i apprciate his help a day before final.
I love this teacher. I didn't get the A I wanted but he made class enjoyable, and that's difficult to do with a 2 1/2 hour math class. Was a little lazy with grading at times but you can tell he cared about the students, we asked him to come on his own time a day before the final to teach us and he did. I will take him for every math class I can

A horrible teacher.I took him for math 103 and his clarity on lecture is horrible!he doesn't seem to like to answer some of the students questions and his exams are hard!and one downhill about him is that if u do a question slightly wrong on the test he will deduct points like crazy!!I really mean it!!!!!!maybe one point out of ten if u don't put a neg. on the prob. So I higly don't recogmend him for calculus!!!!!!!!!

Let me start off saying he is crazy handsome if you are young and attracted to older men. He is nice and explains well but doesn't like to answer too many questions. One thing I didn't like about him is that he tends to make you feel stupid if you ask a question you don't know. He is overall good explains well. I recommend Mr. Handsome/Budarin lol
I took his math 103 class during spring 2010. I HATE him. He DOES NOT explain well. DOES NOT like when students ask questions and makes fun of it.I hope he is not teaching on earth anymore...I passed calculus with an A with a wonderful teacher. I HATE this man.
Mr. Budarin is a cool teacher. He doesn't like to answer too many questions, especially dumb ones... He will put you to place with ignorant responses or remarks. overall his clarity is not the greatest, hence his harsh accent. but he's funny and he's a die hard laker fan.. thanks budarin..

He is very serious and helpful. If you attend every class and take note, you'll get an A for sure because his notes do magic. The only thing is, He doesn't like when students interupting him for a repeating question. He is an amazing teacher.

This is honestly one of the BEST Math teachers you can have! I have always struggled with Math, but he made it fun, easy, and was very clear. I actually learned something. You reallay need to study and take class notes to do well. It is not an easy A or B. Do not take a short Summer class if you dont have the time to study at least 3 hrs a day....
This professor is a good instructor because he clearly explains what you need to consider, know, and do to solve basic math problems. He even gives you "short cuts" or tips that are not in the textbook to more quickly solve problems. He keeps the class from being dry by sharing funny stories from his childhood in USSR and engaging in self mockery
He is one of the best math professor whom i have ever met .His teaching method is wonderful.You got all the subjects in class clearly.His notes are better than any other text books.He is hot and you never be bored and tired as his teaching is full of fun.....I'll respect him forever....Thank you dear Professor.
I recommend this professor to all of the students who think math is horrible... His methods, short cuts, clearance and teaching quality make you to love math....He is the best... I wish all the math professors were at least a half of him....

He doesn't have enough knowledge for teaching calculus,may be he is a good teacher for teaching algebra but not for calculus.Anyway he was the worst teacher I've ever had.

Hes freakin TERRIBLE!!! deep russian accent, hes monotone ALL CLASS. very boring, makes you fall asleep. he will imbaress u infront of the whole class just for asking a question. he gets offended if you dont do math "his way" and will deduct points. atleast 80% of the damn class was failing cus his teaching and he still wouldnt even curve the grade

What a horrible teacher, he is unqualified to teach anyone. He doesn't speak English, but a Russian/English hybrid. He is impossible to understand and he ridicules student on purpose. Even if you say the right answer, he pretends that u said a wrong answer and says the answer u just said. It is just so absurd.
He is amazing. Period. I'm borderline D, C if I get C in Final and I still say this. Best professor I've ever had in college. If I fail I will retake him.

Prof. Budarin is a hidden jem within the golden state. His lectures are full of knowledge. Many students are turned off by the manner that he teaches, but rest assure that if you have D. Budarin as an instructor you'll understand mathematics at a proficient level.
Very hard class. His test are super difficult and he is a tough grader takes tons of points off for stupid little msitakes. He also has a specific teaching method and makes things a lot more complicated than they are.
Although a smart man, Budarin lacks the capabilities of fully teaching the course work to his students and expects them to already know most of it. He treats the class as a review session. Twice a week the class met and it was horrible. Over two hours of math and a strong Russian accent called for a major headache. I'd be aware.
Best math teacher I have ever had in my life. Revitalized my interest in the subject. Definitely going to continue to pursue more advanced classes because of him. Some may think he is mean, but I think it's just because of the accent. He's actually very funny. He truly gets the material and makes sure you do too.

Helping his students is not what he likes to do. All of the homework is online as well as quizzes. He gives a test sometimes once a week, every other week if you are lucky. He lost my final exam and failed me in the class. DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!

Students! If your tired of not understanding simple math problems take Prof. Budarin. He'll definitely make you work for it, but it's worth it. If you take an easy Prof. You'll regret it when mathematics pops out in another course. WORTH THE TIME! He is one of the best professors I've ever had. If you a are serious student who wants to learn he is going to be your best choice. He cares about his subject, and if you disrespect math for him it's like you disrespect him. So be serious, do your homework, ask if you don't understand and you'll learn proper math.
The hardest class I've ever taken and it's only three units.... extremely hard test... he takes tons of points off for small things. Oh and his exams are all cumulative... he wants you to remember the things from other chapters. It's like taking a final for every exam. I'll give him credit on one thing though- he is hilarious.
If you want to learn Math very well you should take his class.
He's extremely thorough and teaches you the foundation of the subject. There is no memorization in this class, unless it is calculus dependent material. If you study for his lectures before class, study, do your homework, and review the course material at the end of each week, you will do well. Bought my books used, and loaned the library copy.

Great professor!
Mr. Budarin is one of the most respected and literate professor I have ever met! He explains very clearly and always answers ALL questions. The only students that don't like him are those who don't like to study and come to the college just for fun. I am going to take the remaining required math classes only with Professor Budarin.
This Professor is one of the worst I have ever had. There is no syllabus and no direction on the material to be covered. Be prepared to talk about 3 to 4 different non-concurrent sections each class as he does not follow the GCC textbook. He also has his own European methods and spends little time to relate or teach US methods.
He wants you to suffer, fail, and quit. He sets you up for failure. If you want to truly suffer then take his class of intimidation, bullying, and nightmares.
He is the best! If you want to learn and understand the Math, take his class!
He is great! He never skips questions and always gives detailed explanations. You don't have to memorize. He explains the themes in a way you understand why and how.
You should take his class if you want to know real math. He is very clear in his lectures and even in grading. He is extremely smart and knowledgable in his field. I would highly recommend him if you love Math and want to learn more!!!
A lot of homework questions weekly, 12 quizzes, 7 tests with a cumulative final. No extra credit opportunities. He is an old school math teacher that does know statistics very well & has high expectations. He just was very strict and demanding with his coursework, without any wiggle room. We started with 40+ students and ended with 20 in the class.
