Horriable, reads the textbook as lecture
No Comments
He did do the textbook lecture thing for a few days, but he stopped doing the past couple days. I like him, he incorporates a lot of viewpoints in his lectures. Doesn't count attendance. He has a little accent but still understandable.
seems knowledgable in history but is not well at teaching it.
i like him! he's a really cool, laid back guy. he's different than any other teacher or person i've met, but that makes him interesting. he says his class is really easy, so that's good too!
Class is easy, very nice guy. Lectures a lot. Not much class discussion. He doesn't take attendance so that's cool too. He tries to help and wants everyone to pass.
really cool guy... class is pretty easy
Really nice guy, easy class. He doesn't take attendance. He really tries to help students pass.
he is freakin halarious! is very knowledgeable about the material and is always there to help. there are two exams and one paper to write. overal he is great
awesome teacher, you barely have to go to class and it doesnt even matter if you take notes or not. just get the study guides he gives you and kno the key terms. VERY EASY TEACHER. TAKE HIM...
He's a really funny guy, kind of weird, but in a funny way. He's really easy, just get the study guides and know the terms. You don't even have to go to all the lectures because he repeats himself all the time! Two term exams (easy), one paper (easy), and a map that's pretty time consuming but really easy! Take him.
Easiest history teacher ever! I never showed up to class, doesnt take attendance, no tests, just 7 2-3 page papers. Final was supposed to be in class but we got to take it home. He really doesn't believe in failing just show any kind of effort in all the papers and you will get at least a B. He's really funny, makes history interesting, super hot.
dont need to go to class. the most wierd, yet easiest history teacher you'll ever have.
Good teacher overall...sometimes drags his lectures too long and get kind of boring but a good teacher in all. Wish the quizes were more simple, they tend to go too far in depth and they sometimes have nothing to do with what we've learned...overall pretty good
go to class, listen, take good notes. this class was my weirdest class ever. we had to take 10 quizzes (easy if you go to class and listen, which I learned the hard way =[ ) and do one 3 page paper...THATS IT! he totally eliminated the final..cool guy cool guy =]
Mesmorizing. This was be best class ever, and the funniest.
Dr. Papandreu is really cool. If you want to understand, he'll go as far as he can to help (he would give so much time to students), if you don't care, he doesn't care either. I think he's one of the only professors I've had who really cares and is sincere about what he does.
very entertaining. made it easier for me to wake up for class in the morning. a little unclear at times, but don't hesitate to ask questions. funny/kick back attitude. highly recommended!
Dr. Panpandreu is a great World History teacher. He makes the class very interesting. Cool professor. We only did 7 2-3 page essays + a take home final but that's it. His lectures are very interesting.
Easy class, might seem a little challenging in the beginning but gets a lot easier towards the end of the semester. Gives out a lot of extra credit points. Almost impossible not to pass this class.
Super easy. absolutly impossible to not pass. Class makes the quizzes. Don't buy the books. Watch lots of movies. two 1 page papers. extra credit potluck. If you want to learn anything, don't take his class.
Just show up to class and you are guaranteed to pass. He pretends or maybe not, gets mad because nobody in the class would ever read the books. (It felt as if I was back in elementary class.)Make sure you dont take out your cell phones and computer laptops. Just sit back and relax.
The class is super easy as everyone said. He talks abit fast but he always gives extra credit . You dont have to come to class but make sure u have a buddy to update u on the quizes anything else. Loved the class , loved the teacher. I would recommend him to anyone .
He's pretty cool, his lectures can be a little hard to follow, but it's an easy enough subject. He's also more than willing to clarify anything. Just don't be a jerk and talk, or screw around on your cell phone.
Don't need to buy the books just check them out at the library. The class consists of a few papers and quizzes where the class comes up with the questions. No final. Just go class and listen, easy as that.
I took him for 300a. I heard he was kinda easy but he did assign at least one book a week to read. He also assigned three essays but those were relatively easy if you read the books. Sometimes he liked to goof off and have the class discusion go off into directions that didn't have anything to do with the topic.
Professor Papandreu comes off as being really mean and rude. He picks on students and makes a big scene in class when someone's cell phone goes off. But half way through the semester, you will find he's actually a very funny guy. I left this class with a much better knowledge in geography. Very interesting man. The book is unnecessary.
I totally recommend him. Just come to class take notes and you'll be fine.
He can be such a jerk sometimes, so just pay attention. His class is very very easy all based on lecture and not the book. Take this class for an easy A
He'll seem like a really mean guy when you first start the semester, but he gets a lot nicer and easier as the semester goes on. He'll give you maps and you'll have a test every 2 weeks or so.It's basically a Geography class, not a History class.
Starts out super strict at the beginning of the semester and turns into an amazing, funny, and easy teacher! Never ever uses the textbook and only gives out short quizzes throughout the semester for grades. No homework, minimal required reading, essays. Awesome!!!
Weird guy. Very moody. Sometimes he's really funny, very laid back. Other times he's rude and standoffish. Do the readings to discuss or he'll get very angry. His readings are a bit boring as well. I didn't do most of the reading. I took good notes though and regurgitated them for the papers. I got an A in the class.
Honestly the best Professor ever, he starts out the semester intimidating but throughout the semester he gets easy. o and the best part, he made the students make their own mid-term and final. Class is SUPER-EASY! just show up, no homework, no book, just classroom fun. Final was Ten easy questions. Absolutely great professor
This class is a freaking joke. It was so easy. He had multiple little quizzes like 10 questions every couple weeks or so. Just come to class, pay attention and you'll get an A. EC potluck @ end of semester. Recommend it if you want an easy A!
This was a great Modern European History Class, especially in California
Weird at first, sexy accent, very cute, and FUNNY! Lectures are interesting, take notes because quizzes are based on lecture. He repeats himself a lot so it's easy to remember stuff, if he talks about it more than once it's prob. on a quiz. Quizzes are easy, like 10 Qs. U don't need the book, he doesn't take role but u should go anyways. Great clas
if you dont get an A in this class you have issues. just make sure your cellphone is off. this class is the BEST. hes really cool but intimidating. im taking him for 110B. and dont bother buying the book.
took for 110b easiest class I ever took in college. Comes off as a jerk the first 2 weeks just to sort out the students who want to be and don't want to be there. Average 2 pages of notes a week, test are on notes and take about 20 minutes, very easy class got an A. Also book is not needed, never opened the book once in or out of class.
Puts down all the lil jerks who usually annoy other classes. Knows his subject and for every topic he makes an argumentative point going out of the typical which is very interesting..."However, I will argue that"...If u comment while he's talking he will make a face as if you were about to get shot by a mafia guy...like a drug deal gone bad.AWESOME
Intelligent, imaginative, & intense, this professor takes this class to the next level. His approach is to teach modern Euro hist through the change of ideas, values, & philosophy-etc, over time. If you need a professor who regurgitates historical factoids without asking you to delve deep into the material and get messy, that's you're loss.
Yeeeah. I don't remember actually staying for the whole class, he would always let us out early. 2 assignments the whole sememster. A take home test and a 3 page essay for the final. This class was ridiculous, the easiest class i've ever taken in my life!
This man is incredibly sexy, so ladies and gentlemen prepare to be turned on in a million ways. His reading assignments and essays were an exploration into the history of Euro ideas. Uses art, literature, and other apropos primary sources to teach. His intelligence is exceptional, take him, listen, and learn. Polyglot. Interdisciplinary approach.
Dimitri is incredibly cute and funny with a crazy sexy accent (greek & italian, yum) I had him for 110A as well, this class was really diff. 2 easy take home essays & 1 pop essay. Don't get the book! I really like that he uses art & writings to help u gain a better understanding of history really interesting, shows u a diff. perspective of things!
He is pretty easy going as long as you don't talk or use your cell phone in class. Don't buy the book ! We don't use it at all the tests are based off his notes/lecture and nothing else. We had three tests one take home essay, oral group exam, and another take home essay for the final. Our grade was made up of just those three things so take notes!
Easy class. DO NOt buy the book. His test are based off of his lectures. Had two take home essay tests as grade that were super easy. You do not need to show up all the time, just enough to get some of the notes. The lectures can be boring though.
Do NOT buy the textbook. You will NOT need it at all. Go to his class to get a general idea on the subject, but attendance is not mandatory. Class is usually less than 30 minutes anyway.
Easy class but rude professor. I don't know why everyone is saying he is so hot. YUCK!
Shows up 5 min. late everyday. Do not buy the book, doesn't take attendance, just skim papers on blackboard. 2 essays, midterm and final are your grade. no homework, overall take him if you want an easy class. don't take him if you REALLY want to learn something.
He came late to class pretty much every day but who cares. I found the class to be pretty intereseting for the most part and it was very easy. Take him...
Seems as if he is rebelling against the school and its budget cuts... which is understandable. It is almost as if he wanted to be a Political Science major rather than a History major. Overall easy class, but I DO NOT recommend if you are a history major. Otherwise, his class was easy and he lets us out early everyday. Take his class!
Dr. Papandreu has a very unique way of teaching. His lectures are about analyzing historical texts and art instead of the typical history textbook reading. He tries to make his students think about history and not just read facts&dates. He doesn't take roll and all readings are on BB no expensive textbooks. Grade based on two papers.
Well, he is always late, always reviews the previous class lecture the first thirty minutes. Doesnt take attendance, Two essays for your grade, he makes up his own stories of history so dont plagerize. If you enjoy history dont recommend, if you want an easy A perfect class for you. he tends to wear the same thing everyday.
Easy class. two take home finals. attendence not mandatory. recommended!
I enjoy my hour of sleep =) FTW
He always spends half the class time reviewing the last class's lecture. We only had two take home "exams" which were short essays. He overly simplified some concepts, and I'm not sure if all he said was entirely accurate. If you want to learn something, don't take him. If all you want is an easy A, I guess this is the class for you.
He is really weird! Funny in a strange way, but can be a little rude. Smart guy. I kinda didn't like him, but I think he's kinda sexy!
honestly, i hated this class. i love history and did not learn a thing. he make upstuff and talks about philosophies of writers. i wouldnt recommend him. he's totally rude too.
I'm giving an honest rating about his teaching abilities here, but since there's no character rating, let me add that he is not a friendly instructor, and doesn't pretend to be either.
Dimitri is one of a kind, and contrary to popular belief he is quite approachable. He has an unconventional approach to teaching but it was highly effective. I absolutely loved class discussions and for all of you that think this class is boring and didn't learn anything is probably because you did not say a word in lecture. A+ professor-TAKE!
He must write all of his good quality comments
some say this man teaches lies...others that he is boring or too vague. My question is, what about u? Challenge him-it's called dialogue you privileged ingrates. what can he teach that you can't get from a library anyway? why go to school at all? Yeah he comes off as a Jerk & has a big head but hey, first impressions aren't everything, go say hi.
hmmm. he loves apples. make sure you take him one on the first day of class. Make sure to sit up straight, teachers like that. Someone commented that he wears the same thing all the time. Bring him some clothes the second week of class, you know, after you get to know him and find out his favorite color. Raise your hand to ask to go to the bathroom
Easy and interesting.
Ummm, he loves oranges.
I hate this class. You learn nothing and can BS your way through most tests. I have trouble staying awake most of the time. He is hard to understand and very hard to follow in lecture. Waste of my time and money in college. Plus extremely rude. Accused me of trying to listen to music in class with no headphones. You learn nothing so dont take.
One of my favorite professors. If I could have I would have taken another class of his. It's good to know that someone like him exists. He is so well versed in his subject that it makes for interesting lectures. Funny & engaging though maybe terse at times. Great supplemental readings. Accused me of having my cell out when I didn't-I forgave hi
This was an easy class, we had little reading and didn't even need to buy the book. all his tests are basically about his lectures so you have to attend but its not that bad because hes funny/sarcastic at times (: i really like his way of teaching..going to try to see if i can get him for 110B!
He goes mad for mangoes, crazy for currants, wild for watermelon, giddy for grapes, bonkers for bananas...he pines for plums.
Tests were easy because basically small essay questions but you have to listen to the lectures cuz u wont know. Attendance was not recommend but if you want to pass the class go. Very funny professor and rude sometimes but he's sarcastic.
Professor Papandreu tended to give us readings with out reminding the class, which would be fine since we were given a syllabus. However, the class had fallen off schedule and no changes were made. Also, in class discussions he would go on tangents if no one would answer a question.
My biggest issue with this professor is that when he discussed current events (or sometimes the class material, as well) he appeared very condescending to differing opinions from his own, especially religious ones.
Easiest class I took all semester. You get to choose how you want to take the tests. Our final was watching the movie 300 and playing jeopardy. Good cheap class (cause you don't need a textbook.)He needs a haircut.
Awesome professor, if you utilize this class you can learn so much but without the pressure of writing 20 papers and meeting deadlines. Take it, you won't regret it
Funny.Intelligent. Would be better if he cared more but then again if the students cared more class would be better as well. Interesting readings. Three papers was all you had to do + readings. Pretty easy and interesting. Took a while ago so maybe it has changed. Go ask for help if you need it, or just to chat-he's up for both.
OK, so I guess he realized he was being too easy, so this semester he changed EVERYTHING up. U will have 30 quizzes & 7 tests. So U pretty much have to read. U don't have to buy a book which is good cause every reading it posted online. The readings are anywhere from 4-25ish pages long. (rarely go higher than 12 pgs though. Easy grader. Take him.
Pretty cool teacher with lame jokes. He's very silly. Reading is mandatory in his class although you do not have to buy the book since he posts everything online. You have a quiz every morning on what you read though the readings include the questions, and only two are chosen for the quizes. He lets you re take quizes which is always a plus.
He's laid back and very smart. No textbook was necessary. He supplies the readings and there are daily quizzes. They are easy if you read (the questions are in the readings). His lectures are interesting and he gets to the point. Easy A.
I love this guy. He's a lay back professor and has a passion for history. It's a different class but I loved it. Only two test, two essays and no final. He grades fairly also. He has a sexy accent and I love how his hair is messy. Is it weird that I had a crush on this guy? Overall great professor and a great class.
Cool teacher, but kinda rude to students at times. Quizzes every class but just do readings and it'll be cake. Very easy class and no homework. Pretty chill class.
The class itself is quite easy, but it changes each semester, this is conjecture, but I think he is quite bitter with the students he has to teach at cal state fullerton, you can tell he cared at one point, but he treat everyone like illterate children when it comes to discussing stuff in class, maybe someday you teach at a better school dr.p
I swear i failed most of my quizzes, aced all of exams. was so lazy didnt give out quizzes for a month and a half. didnt show up for that time. ended up getting an A. maybe hes just too easy
Super fun and easy teacher. I loved going to his class because after we covered material from the readings, we would have discussions about things happening around us, which would always end up being debates. Supposed to have 6 essays but only did 3. Take his class!
Easiest teacher on campus. Quiz every day but they are short answer and there is only 2-3 questions about readings. No textbook everything is on blackboard. reading are about 5-10 pages. not bad and i got an A on everything. He gives you the questions for his exams so everyone gets A's and he even leaves class so people can copy. Take this class!
great professor!reading were online, 1 paragraph long essay per reading assignment, take home tests if you miss class and take home final. TAKE HIM HE IS AWESOME!!
This class is so easy. Quiz everyday but all the questions are from the readings. Gives exam question to you to find the answer before actually taking the test.He is an absolute must take.
We had the quiz everyday for about a month and a half. After that, the quizzes were very sporadic then he stopped giving them altogether with no notice. He's not funny, leaves during tests, gets mad and rants randomly, and he doesn't really teach, he just reads (badly) from the assigned readings. Easy class, but it's also incredibly annoying.
i dont know what all these other people did. but in my class we never took a single quiz. it was just 4 exams and a final with a 5 page research paper and presentation. thats it. super easy but i could not stay awake he just talks for the full time.
We never had a single quiz. There were 4 exams, 1 presentation/research paper, and a final. His lectures are boring and he can have a short temper.Do not use your cell phone or talk in class he will call you out.Other than that he can be really funny. Do the readings and go to class if you want a good grade. His teaching style changes every semester.
He has an accent; you can understand him but it makes his lectures even more dreadful. I literally could not stay awake during his class. I ended up only attending class during the 4 tests and the presentation I had to made. He doesn't care if you show up. Super boring but you'll get at least a B if you study hard for tests
Boring, short tempered professor. Four exams where he pulls questions off from your readings (about 15 pages every class meeting) and a take-home final. You do a presentation and a 5pg paper. He's pretty easy but it's a lot of reading. I wouldn't take him even though he's easy. There are better professors who are easy and actually teaches you
Took this class cuz i heard it was easy. Class was sooo boring. he will call you out if you text or sleep in class. Very rude. He assumes everyone knows everything. Pretty much failed the 4 exams we took, but after the presentation, 5pg paper, and take home final, I got a B. Btw, he doesnt upload grades online. Kiss up to him if you want to pass.
One thing about this class that I do not like is the fact that the professor does not seem to care. He comes in looking tired and he would just talk forever without engaging students in actual work. I also feel like he doesn't care about students cheating. These cheaters have no respect for other people and he needs to call them out for it.
If you want to take the easiest class in the history of csuf, take him. Never had a quiz, took 4 tests and our final was one question emailed to him. the tests are 3 questions and he gives the answers so no need to read. Watched a movie the last week and a half. Seriously take him. It was one more less of a burden on my schedule.
Extremely boring and hard to understand. I could barely stay awake during his lectures. He seems very nonchalant about everything until you want to use a laptop or phone in class. All readings are posted online, so you don't have to buy any textbooks which is nice. I didn't do any readings and still passed all 4 exams.
Professor Papandreu's lectures were really interesting;he is very knowledgeable about the material he teaches. He understands that people have lives outside of his class and tested us on the bigger concepts, rather than testing us on exact dates and names. Great class :)
Honestly, the class was pretty boring, but he was a cool professor! Very funny! The class was very easy, and I probably only showed up for half of the lectures. No final exams, papers, or homework. Just do the study guides and you are guaranteed to get an A on the 4 tests he gives.
He was super chill and knew so much about the subject. As long as you don't fall asleep or text in class, he's a really good teacher. But if you do, it will be like crawling out of the seventh pit of Hell. Really funny guy too
Attendance is seriously NOT needed! He is a chill professor and all but I didn’t really learn from him.. or maybe I just wasn’t paying attention. Just do the study guide and you will get an A, especially since he is an easy grader. Theres no homework or papers or projects so your grade is all based on your exam grades.
Overall I enjoyed this class. He is half greek and half italian and his accent is not to bad. He is somewhat cynical but easy going and funny. He likes to question society and the gov't. failed my first test, got A's on the rest. Read the readings they are short and do the study guides.
He is so funny and such a nice person! I would take his class over and over again! He makes everything easy and accessible. and I kind of want to marry him
Literally one of the easiest classes I have taken at CSUF. He cancels exams, and when you have an exam he leaves the class! everyone gets A's! weekly reading (they are pretty short) and a quiz of about 2-3 questions on the reading. He gives out study guide which if you study it, no reason not to get an A on the exams. Take him, hes the best. Easy A
This is quite possibly the most laid back easy going teacher I have ever had. No homework, no writing assignments, reading the book is voluntary as the class before the test he goes over all the answers. His multiple choice questions on the test consist of one right answer and two jokes. Take him if you can!
The easiest class I have taken at CSUF so far. I showed up for less than half of the classes and when I did show up, he would let us out 45 minutes early. The study guide contains all the same questions for the test so there is no reason to not get a least a B.
EASIEST HISTORY TEACHER EVER. gives you study guides before the test and picks 4-5 questions off of it to put on the test. (essay format). after the first 2 tests, he added a few EASY multiple choice questions and only had 2-3 essay questions. he's really sarcastic, but i actually liked and learned a lot from this class and i hate history.
EASY A. No textbook. Attendance is not mandatory. Tests are literally the exact same questions as the study guide. Prof can be a bit strange and rambles on during lecture but he's somewhat entertaining. Super easy class!
You only really need to show up for exams. If you do go to class you should sit towards the front because he can be a little hard to understand at times, but what he says can be really interesting. Learned a lot more than I would have if I only showed up for exams. Great class. Easy A.
This guy is hilarious & makes you want to come to class b/c he keeps it entertaining. 3 total exams, including a take home final. One of my favorite professors at CSUF. Take him!
Easy to pass. I don't know why I did not get an A in this class because he was so easy. You don't need the book. Attendance is not mandatory and he is pretty funny. All test are easy. Go to class, look at his power points and listen. If you do this, you will pass the class.
Easy grader. No book, but must read assigned readings. Go to class to know what to write about. Two essay exams and one written assignment. Attendance is not mandatory.
He is straightforward when it comes to what is expected of the class. Well educated and knowledgeable about the subject of history. He is very funny too and keeps lectures interesting, unlike many history classes. You will learn a lot in this class, take him!
Interesting lectures and I don't like history. There isn't a book, but if you want a good grade on the exams you have to read the assignments online. Some of them are confusingboring but he goes over it in class and they are short. Go to class or you could be doing extra work. But if you miss a class its not a big deal.
This class is pretty easy. All you do is sit there and listen to him lecture. This class would have been the easiest class ever but sadly it was a 7am class. If it weren't such an early class this would be my fav. No matter how early the class is make sure you go to 90% of all classes. Lectures are important. NO BOOK NEEDED! Dimitri is funny cool
Just plain weird. Most classes made no sense at all. The class was easy, but it was because the topic was, not because of him. There's only a midterm, final, and a paper that goes with each, so if you want easiness, this will work. If you want clarity, definitely not. No textbook, just 3 readings per week, posted on Titanium. Weird grading too.
I would not recommend his class. He was disrespectful to many of his students, was rude when you asked him for help, and instead of encouraging his students, he often brought them down. You need to do well on everything because he is a tough grader and there are only three assignments: a written midterm, a paper, and a written final. No study guide
Like others have said, he is a very confusing professor, but his exams were very easy. Even though they are written exams, he pretty much tells you what questions he will be asking and you can just prepare what you plan on writing.
He's funny but rude. All we learned about was Greek History as he was Greek. We didn't learn about anything but Greek History until the last two lectures. Final was just an essay on what we learned in class, since he was behind on schedule. No study guide for our class, he wasn't fond of us. Very unhelpful with questions, even tho he encouraged it.
Kind of rude and makes fun of you when you ask questions. Cool guy and his tests are super easy and usually just like 5 questions! Just pay attention in lecture when you do show up and you'll be good to go. The final was a one page paper double spaced on what the most interesting thing you learned this semester was! Def take for an A! no textbook
He is arrogant. Your whole grade rides on one midterm and one final. Don't buy the textbook, he lectures for the entire class every day, and everything on the tests is from lectures. One good thing is that he writes an outline of the notes on the board while he lectures so he is easy to follow. If you attend class and take notes, you'll pass.
This class is easy to pass. After the midterm, I started ditching class and only showed up to take the final. I managed to pass with a "B-" I never read for this class but still managed to pass the exams which I clearly BS it. No study guide and was not clear on the exams. The class was so boring that I stopped going after the midterm. No textbook.
Absolute no strucure to this class. Originally was suppose to be 3 exams & 1 paper.. class decides to vote for a midterm, final & 2 papers. The prompt is basically to "create something beautiful with your words" & I don't even think most of things he talks about has to deal with history at all. grading makes no sense at all.
Only wrote 2 papers, one for the midterm and one for the final. The prompts were to write about anything you want. He's hilarious and I actually went to every class even though attendance isn't mandatory. Easiest class ever!
Nice guy but boring class. There's not a lot of structure and it got repetitive so that was a downside for me, but it's a personal preference. Initially there were 2 written tests (he ended up scratching the final one) & 2 essays (writing your feelings/opinions on any class topic). No book. Professor wasn't my first choice but it's an easy class!
I was pregnant beginning the semester and took the first month off. Came back to midterm which we could email to him. Super easy. And a creative writing paper which we could also email to him. The final was also a creative writing paper that we could also email to him the class before. so you don't have to show up to class just email him the stuff.
He was all over the place. Didn't even have to show up to class. I got an A and hardly showed up to class after the midterm. Class started off with over 60 people and towards the end there were only about 12 people that would show up.
Interesting class, did not really feel like a history class. Book definitely not needed!! Two papers based on what you found interesting from the lectures and one exam.
The class had no structure. Toward the end of the semester I, and the whole class actually, stopped showing up bc his lectures were pointless. 1 written midterm just basically summarizing 3 things we'd discussed, 2 creative papers. He was funny and the class was easy, but he was all over the place. Not having to memorize dates was a plus though!
The lectures of Dr. Papandreu were very creative and interesting, I learned a lot in his course. The professor is very knowledgeable, friendly, and interesting to talk to. You will like his class!
Dimitri is one of the most real professors I've ever had. The way the class was structured helped me understand that history is more than just dates within time, and his lectures are inspiring. He is insanely witty while at the same time encourages his students to really think. I personally loved the writing two assignments. I highly recommend him!
Simply the best. Very knowledgable, creative, talented professor. His lectures were amazing, and I will always remember his stories.
I absolutely hate history, but Dimitri made it very enjoyable and interesting. I loved coming to class! His lectures are inspiring and so is he. The homework load is not bad at all and the midterm is a take home test. I learned a lot in his class not only about history, but also about reality and the beauty of life.
Professor Papandreu is one of the best professors that I've had at CSUF. His lectures promote discussion and cause you to think in depth about the significance of each topic being discussed. In order to get a good grade in Professor Papandreu's class, just show up and he will do the rest. Mellow, insightful, and funny; highly recommend him.
There were very few assignments in this class. Attendance is not mandatory, but Papandreu speaks so passionately about topics that it makes you want to be in class. There was a take home midterm and a creative writing assignment. This is not your usual history class, there is no memorization of facts/ dates.
Professor Papandreu is amazing! He is energetic, passionate, exciting, zealous, you name it! Great class where you will make many memories. It's a chill, yet thought-provoking class. He is a must take professor!
Ridiculously easy class. Isn't so much a history class as a philosophy course. If you want to learn dates and events don't take this class. If you want some philosophy and an easy and often interesting GE credit take it. No textbook was used, just printed out pieces of classical writing.
I took History 110A with Professor Papandreu during Fall of 2016, as well as History 180 during Spring 2017. I absolutely adore this professor and his style of teaching. If I could take another class taught by him I absolutely would! You won't regret choosing to take any of his classes because he is great!
My favorite professor and above all the embodiment of what I believe a college professor should be - thought-provoking and inspirational. Hates tech and loves life. His goal is to make you think for yourself instead of saving historical dates and names in your brain. Has definitely improved my outlook on things like life and love. PLEASE TAKE HIM!
Dimitri Papandreu is the coolest, sweetest, most understanding, down to earth person ever! He TRULY changed my perspective on life and how to live it. He teaches in a way that touches your soul. Everyone should be fortunate enough to be his student. The most you do is read and reflect and have an awesome potluck! TAKE HIM, YOU WONT REGRET IT!!
Literally the easiest class you will ever take. Weekly homework assignments and a creative writing paper and that's it. Went every other week or stayed for only half the class and still got an A. If you actually want to learn something, don't take him.
Awesome Teacher, Show up for an A or dont show up and still get an A
Besides the weekly 10 point homework assignment, we have 1 creative writing assignment which seems easy and we get to create our Final. Amazing.
I never showed up and I passed this class with ease. There were like three homework assignments. No midterms, no attendance, no textbook. Final is comprised by the students. A creative writing assignment, but you can write about literally anything as long as you heard the topic in class. Whenever I do show up, he is funny and philosophical.
I never show up to class and e-mail him my work. He accepts late work and is super funny during lectures. EXPLICIT lectures, so if you don't have a humor don't take him. He loves when students mingle and doesn't focus on you remembering facts like dates and names. Did I mention we had a pot luck in the second week of the semester?!
Easiest history class ever! there are no quizzes or tests. Attendence is not taken and does not matter. We choose our final and my class chose to do a potluck instead! He has no filter and will make you think about things deeply. Super chill guy and i would take him again if i get the opportunity.
Nice professor but super easy class. You do not need to attend class to receive an A.
Phone bad. Very intelligent. Only gets high scores here because class is pathetically easy. Odd style of teaching involves verbally attacking students who participate, thus discouraging participation of any kind. At least he didn't make us buy a textbook, which would have been equally as useful as this course was.
He was hilarious! loved him. only some hw was assigned, which was easy (read and answer some questions) you were able to pick your final as a class (easy) we had two potlucks! class is not mandatory no textbook used one easy creative writing assignment (you can write about anything) I recommend taking his class if you need an easy A for a GE
EASY A! He stopped assigning hw because he didn't want to grade anymore. He really just wants participation. Attendance wasn't mandatory. we had two potlucks. he's really cool tbh.
So dope
he is extremely different I personally would not take him again he gave me a lot of anxiety lol. there were only 2 writing assignments. uses +/- participation is important I participated a lot and got A's on bot essays and he gave me an A- -_-
Strangest teacher Ive ever had. He also made some very rude remarks to the class which was unsettling but this was not a very hard class at all. Theres only 2 papers(5 pg each)&you can choose the topic. Theres never really any assignments besides these and no tests. Doesnt take attendance. Stopped going bc of family issue &he was very understanding
If you want an easy A then take his class. 2 writing assignments if you meet the page requirements then you get an A. Beware if you show up to class this teacher might belittle and ridicule you. If you bother showing up to every class, then you'll probably gain valuable life lessons. He's definitely an interesting guy.
our final was a potluck and dont need to show up to class for an A
From all the classes in college I have taken so far, this professor has been the most caring for his students. Like a mentor professor Dimitri is very thoughtful and realistic to give advice or recommendations in any aspect other than school . The work load is not heavy but it is an eye opening to many social doors.
Just show up if you want because attendance is not mandatory, so no one ever shows up. he wants everyone to participate but when we wouldnt he would kinda just sit there with sad. but hes an easy A! just do the two papers, hit the 5 page requirement and youre set.
Ridiculously easy class. You dont have to show up, but he says i should know your name/who you are by the end of the semester in order to be graded for participation. 2 creative writing assn (5 pages) and a final. He cancelled the 2nd writing assn and just had us write about what we took away from the class (3 pages) and made that the final.
EASY A. lectures the entire class time, were dull and boring at times. attendance not mandatory, ppl stopped showing up. encourages participation, i didnt participate that much & still got an A-. 2 easy papers, NO TESTS, HW, QUIZZES. interesting personality and sense of humor... but overall easy ge credit.
Prof papandreu likes to joke and try to make his lectures fun. They however, can be very long and boring. Took his 110A class as a G.E. Attendance isnt mandatory, but participation matters. Youre graded off participation and 2 essays.
Not your traditional history class at all. He takes a philosophical approach to the topics. Does not have a structured power point format; only has images and talks about whatever comes to mind. You will hate the class if you don't make an effort to participate. Some of his opinions are controversial, but it makes lecture interesting.
Dimitri is a true gem. I'm a 3rd year & he's my fav professor I've had thus far. More of a philosophical approach, relating his lectures with real LIFE experiences. I learned so much. We need more professors like him on campus!! Don't think this class is "too easy" and not show up, he grades participation heavily, so go to class & speak your mind!
Dimitri is an extremely intelligent soul and teaches with so much passion. This is someone who I consider to be a real teacher and who offers so much to the minds of observant students. You will leave this classroom with teachings that will follow you forever and so if you decide to take him, do show up and participate. You will gain so much.
He is very inspirational and passionate about what he teaches. He always relates topics to our everyday lives. Downside of this professor is him not having a filter so you know when he doesnt like a response from someone. He is very straight forward. Participation is 25%of your grade and you grade yourself in front of the class.
Awesome chill down-to-Earth professor. Hilarious too and cracks a lot of jokes. He'll also make you think really deeply about the topics he bring up and can change your perspectives on the matter. Definitely recommend!
Dimitri's an interesting one. Despises Powerpoint presentations, electronics, and windowless classrooms. In love with conversation, humanity, and the arts. His teaching approach is unconventional. He talks about whatever's on his mind and you have to mold that into some sort of change for yourself. 2 writing assignments. Try to participate.
Professor Papandreu was the BEST professor EVER. He understands the hardships of online learning and made it super easy to pass. He is my favorite professor and I've never seen him lol. As long as you do the easy work, you get an A. He also is very reassuring of your writing. I would 1000/10 recommend!!
This professor is goated! He adapted really well to this new online learning environment. I have never seen him before but I would literally die to meet him one day. He is like batman, no one knows his identity but everyone loves him. I would recommend taking this class if you want to get a good grade and enjoy it at the same time. Major Respect!!!
The professor only "lectures" through written essays. These are meandering 5 to 80 page (counting attached excerpts) ... things, which he expects a 2ish page response to. There are no clear prompts. His essays are often written in a stream of consciousness like style, and do not follow style guides. More direction is desperately needed.
This is one class I looked forward to doing the work for. He assigns a two-page response for each lecture, which is a written essay by him. For a history class, the content is a combination of history and the student's philosophy, or perspective, on the topics. It is not your normal textbook history class. Definitely recommend this professor.
He accepts late work and gives full credit throughout the semester. He assigns lectures which are all written so be prepared to read and you must respond to his lecture with a 1-2pg essay. Its the easiest thing in the world. I simply wrote as I spoke about what I thought of the lecture and comparing to current events etc. EASY A+ TAKE COURSE!
Jus do urself a favor and take him.
super easy take him. u just have to write a 1 or 2 page essay every week. it is based on his lecture. he lets you free write as long as you mention the lecture. my dog could do this and she would get an A. Take it bc it is an easy GE class. also if u forget to do an essay, he will not mark u for turning it in late. As long as you do it u r golden.
Dimitri is defiantly one with the student and completely understands what we are going through. While I can't speak for his in-person lecture classes, I am sure they are even better. Hate harsh deadlines, not an issue. Don't like essays with endless rubrics, this is your class!
The professor's lectures were very fun to listen to. He doesn't focus on old boring history. He makes it fun, and keeps it short. He also let us out of class early so many times. Hw, isn't history related. He's funny, and he gives literally everyone an A. I only showed up to class 25% of semester and passed. MUST TAKE, ITS FREE!!
want an easy class take him!! i didnt even do much for this class. he doesnt care if youre late to class or if you go to class at all. no test, quiz, or hw at all. just a couple essays but very doable. he give you a lot of time to. i barely went to class and got an A. this semester he only made us do 2 essay. super easy too.
TAKE HIM. He is so caring and understanding, he wants class to be something beneficial in everyday life. You don't have to go to class but you should b/c he is a great guy. He gave a lot of extensions and essays are about any topics you talk about in class! It was great!
He really does care about the students mental health and time. He never kept us for the full amount of class time as this class ran from 7-9:45 at night. He grades based off of two papers on the different readings and a final spoken reflection. Overall a very caring professor and a very easy class.
Take him! Easy A, graded off two essays that were due on the last day of class, don't havev to show up everyday
Best Professor Ever. Easy A. Take Him!!!
Super chill and has a great curriculum. He really gets you thinking about the bigger ideas in life through art and literature. The absolute BEST professor at CSUF. Only 2 reflection "papers"--he just wants to know what you think about the course or one of the topics that you found interesting. 100% would take again. TAKE HIM IF YOU GET THE CHANCE!!
I took this class because I heard it was easy. Only 2 graded papers, his lectures were boring and he always went off-topic. Honestly do not need to show up to class since he has the readings on his canvas, you don't even have to read them. Sadly very boring but easy.
Easiest A of my life. Only two essays and no final, you didn't have to show up for a SINGLE class, just wrote two 500-word essays on the sources he posted on canvas and you'll pass without showing up once. If you do show up, however, he kind of just rambles about whatever and is genuinely a good and funny guy. Take if you want an easy A, but boring
Such a great guy. Genuinely cares but is also a super chill and easy professor. If you have the option to take him DO IT. No textbook to buy. Two essays on anything in the class which a graded very easy. He is very insightful and inspirational. TAKE HIM.
This guy is great! Loved his readings on American History and his interactions in the class were also funny. There was no homework and all we had to do was to write a reflection about his class for our midterm and final. Take this class if you want an easy A and a fun learning experience.
his class is amazing and one of my favorites of the semester! great class to take if you want something easy and fun to cover a pre req. his lectures are always so entertaining and its not a basic history class ifykyk. def recommend taking this class :)
One of the best, really funny!! Just take him!
TAKE THIS CLASS. its literally bs. Went to class prob like 3 times the whole year and ended with an A. Only 2 assignments the whole year and its basically just a reflection essay. The "final" was a reflection essay and it was supposed to be 3 pages but he changed it to 1 page lmao. Literally take this class trust you will thank me later.
Easiest A EVERRR !!!! Doesn't care if you go to class or not I literally only showed up to class the first week of school and didn't go again. Only one 3 page essay on whatever topic on the readings he gave and the final was a one page essay on any topic from the readings. Would totally take his class again.
Easy class. Most of the class slept through the lecture and still got A's. Grades are based on 2 essay you write, reflecting on any topic and what you learnt from his class.
Lesson every week given on Monday usually. Writing 1 page reflection for each given. Very easy class. Just do the reflections and you'll pass! He is an easy grader, I definitely recommend taking him.
Attendance is not mandatory and he just asks for like 2 assignments the whole semester. Easy class for credit.
Super easy class, the professor is also very nice.
Easy A class with minimal work. Professor is super chill - barely takes attendance and just has a couple short essays. Definitely take it if you want an easy credit. I found unstuck study super helpful for essay prep as well!
While the class subject itself isn't the most interesting necessarily he is a good professor that really makes you think and discuss the material. He may seem serious at first but he's pretty nice and wants you to succeed and explains and breaks down things well. 2 papers and two tests overall not bad
Exceptionally unorthodox prof, but you are in for a treat if you participate, engage, and just enjoy yourself. He clearly appreciates the material in mind, which I refuse to elaborate on. He has a theme and promotes it in his assignment style. Great to work with and wish this man well, he does represent how his department genuinely should be like.
Easy A, got weekly assignments and you just had to turn them in for the grade. Would recommend, they're fairly easy one pagers
Nobody ever came to class. Only had two One-pagers that made up the grade for the class. Interesting guy.
Great professor.. nice guy but oftentimes can be judgmental. But the class is quite easy and we did maybe 2-3 short essays and that's about it. His lectures are really interesting and taking notes is really helpful in this class when it comes to the essays.
Although this class was easy, the professor was obnoxious. He kept repeating the R-slur several times and act very casually about it. His personality aside, he talks a lot and will go on tangents if given the chance or ask a question.
Hated it, although this class was easy, the professor was obnoxious. He told me to leave the class because I was tapping my foot. His class was disorganized and to be frank I didn't learn a thing and history has been one of my favorites for years. If you need a class for GE credit take this class. we've done 2 easy assignments the whole semester
Professor Papandreu is one of the most relaxed professors at CSUF. He's calm and lectures are slow-paced, he can be quite hilarious at times. Very easy class, only 2-3 essays, and there's some nice insight to be gained from the writings analyzed in the lectures. Attendance is not mandatory, most students stop showing up and still pass easily.
He's an extremely insightful professor. His lectures truly made me think deeply about the content he was teaching and you can tell his goal was to teach you and actually let his students learn rather than give them work to do for a class. I think about his lectures outside of class and have deep respect for him. The work is easy if you go to class.
This was such an easy class, attendance wasn't mandatory and he wasn't strict on homework at all. Every week we'd have to turn in an assignment, but if you turned it in later, he wouldn't make your grade down at all. He was a relaxed professor and really took a more philosophical approach to the topics we went over.
