Professor K is tough in terms of making sure you read and that you pay attention in class, but her class is very interesting. She teaches things that are not in the textbook, so you have to come to class. Her knowledge of psychology is vast, and she speaks loud and clear so that you can hear her in the back of the lecture hall. Two thumbs up.

Exams are 99% out of the notes. No Paper! :-) Lectures do not last long, she just asks you to be respectful and participate. Honestly, if you can breathe and read, you will get at least a B+ in this course, and those special few that can actually make sense of the reading will get an A.

She is a really good teacher and she is very knowledgable in her field!!

A must take for stats. Stats is hard to begin with, but Dr. K actually makes it fun. The labs really help you understand the topic. Exams are hard, but she is helpful during office hours and via email. Do yourself a favor and register for her stats class.

Prof K rocks. At first you think you could get away with stuff because she looks young, but she's no pushover! I learned the hard way. Good class.

Dr. K was the best professor I had at NYIT. I graduated in May and will miss her classes. She not only knows so much about her field, but was very helpful when it came to questions about graduate school. I tried to take as many of her classes as I could. Keep on doing what you do, Dr. K!

She is sooo freakin hard. She makes you take online quizzes, gives you tons of hw, and has these ridiculously hard exams everyone fails (and no she doesn't curve). She got angry at us and made us write up a paper. You need a freakin 96 to get an A...so good luck with that!

Her class is demanding, but it is very interesting. This woman knows a lot! She is fine as long as you read, keep up with the work, and participate in class. She helped me a lot during office hours. If you do the work, you'll be fine. Also, my peer mentor is very helpful. I would recommend her.

I wouldn't care if I learned nothing in her class. She is just so freaking nice to look at that I would take her classes for that reason alone.

This class is really interesting and will be easy to understand if you keep up with the textbook reading. She only gives 2 exams and the 1st one wasnt so difficult if you studied the notes that was given during the powerpoint. I recommend this Professor to anyone!

Greatest professor I have ever taken! Just make sure you do your readings before each class because if you don't answer her questions, she will leave and you have to teach yourself. Karafantis teaches a hard class but I think she does a good job. If you don't want to read and don't want to study find someone else to take the class with. She's the only prof I've had in college to give a review sheet for an exam.

She's cool. She is very sarcastic so do not take her seriously. She helps during the test if you have 1-2 questions. She is strict but a great teacher. She will call you a turd or jackass if you are not paying attention.

No one at tech can do teaching as well as Dr. K. She's helpful, guides you well, and grades very fairly. If ever given the opportunity to take a class with her, I would definitely recommend it. 3 classes later, and I couldn't be happier!

Absolutely love her! Her grades are fair. Rarely gives extra credit, but you will pass her exams if you study. There's only three all semester. She is extremely funny and sarcastic, her personality is the coolest. You will never get bored in her lectures. Stay off your phones though! She will call you out and embarrass you (rightfully so).

if you're looking for a professor who is going to help you succeed, Dr. Karafantis is the one to have. She wants nothing but the best for all her students. Very fair and very respectable. Yes, her classes are difficult but well worth all the information you will actually remember.

She is so nice and a great professor! Her lectures are really detailed and helpful. She gives so many examples to make sure we understand the topic. Her tests are based on the review sheet she gives, make sure you know it. Would definitely recommend her! You would love her. She curses out at her times and it's hilarious.

This is my favorite class and I'm a science major. Learning about mental illness is the most interesting but all topics apply to real life. If I had more general electives I would take another class with her.

She's honestly one of the best professors I've had and would definitely take her again. Her powerpoints are straightforward, but what really counts are the examples she gives during the lectures. Many of the questions on her tests are similar to the examples, so definitely show up to class and pay attention. Very funny and really recommend!

i took the class over zoom and it was okay. shes very knowledgeable and really funny as well. pay attention in the lectures and slides because that's all u really need for the exams. u do a reaction paper to each documentary u watch (which is only 2), one final paper, and 3 exams (1 of them being the final this semester). pretty straightforward.

Honestly, the best professor I ever had. She teaches in a way to help you retain the information very well. If you pay attention studying should come very easy. No surprises on the exam just listen to what she says and understand it. Memorization is not going to help you must UNDERSTAND. She's available for office hours so use that time well.

She is strict with grading, even with multiple choice questions that are ambiguous. She takes attendance every lecture, and more than three absences result in a letter grade deduction. If you pay attention in class and take good notes, you'll be fine. Her exam questions are easy for the most part.

Dr. Karafantis is humorous, highly intelligent and demands the best out of each student. I find that if you follow what she wants, anyone with a modicum of intelligence and desire to be successful can be. This is especially true if you make use of the ample hours she is available to those who want to succeed.

I dont know why everyone is saying she is a bad prof, I had taken her last year as a BSDO. Her lectures were funny and she made sure everyone understood everything. The only time she would get upset is when people would walk in with 10 mins of class remaining, which is reasonable. She never cancelled class and was extremely consistent with tests.

Dr Karafantis is so funny during her lectures and always makes class so engaging as long as you pay attention and don't talk during class. As a BSDO who took the MCAT, I got a perfect score in the psych section because everything she taught was on the exam. If you are taking the MCAT I highly recommend taking this professor & class seriously.

Pretty straight forward class. I read a chapter of the textbook each week and answer 1 question out of 4 and write a paragraph as an answer. It's not too hard but not super easy either. I would highly recommend this class.
