She's awesome. She is young and understands what college students go through. She is helpful, answers her emails right away and actually teaches how to master a college paper. An added bonus is she is very easy on the eyes. I hope she teaches more classes!!!!!!

Professor Sciortino is the best professor I've ever had at Mercer. I've taken English multiple times but struggled to pass. Professor Sciortino made English tolerable. She's a wonderful person and although she doesn't hand out 100's she's a good grader.

She is an awesome professor. The essay topics and readings are relevant (no highbrow BS), the instruction is interesting, and she is always there to help you. You will have to work for an A, but she doesn't put too much on your plate. If you put the work in you can definitely get an A. I can honestly say I learned a lot in this class.

Since I've taken her class my writing has improved tremendously thanks to her help. She really gets you prepared for ENG102 while also making class fun and assigning interesting topics. She goes into detail at the beginning of the semester on how to accomplish some things and how she wants things done. If you pay attention, and do your readings, you will do well.

There were only a few papers for the semester. Each was based on the readings and what we discussed in class. She was very clear about what she wanted from us and if you follow her guidelines you will most likely get an A on your essays. She teaches some great writing techniques that will be useful in any other instance where you must write a paper

Professor Sciortino started the course with clear lectures to write an argumentative essay, which became exceedingly useful when writing the six essays given in the course. The fifth essay was a research essay in preparation for ENG102 a great way to prepare for next semester.

Professor Sciortino made English 101 not only easy, but fun and informative. She is up to date with current topics and generates an open enviroment for group discussions. Don't skip her class and try not to be late. 6 essays ... easy money

I took Professor Sciortino for ENG101 and ENG102, she was an incredible professor who gave amazing advice. ENG102 is much more laid back than ENG101, as we have a basic knowledge of how to write an essay. There are 3 textboooks to buy, but it is totally worth it. The research paper was broken down into sections over a one month period!

If you plan to attend Mercer County Community College you will most likely have to take English classes, and do yourself the biggest favor you can and get into Prof. Sciortino's class. Never before have i enjoyed a class/teacher this much in all my years of learning. Not only has she opened my eyes to how good of a writer i can be, but shes a dime.

Had her for ENG101 and eng102. Both amazing classes. I learned how to write an argumentative essay in 101 and we had some awesome lectures in 102. She is very strict with attendance and being on time but other than that, she's fair and is a teacher you will never forget.

The teacher is very engaged with the students. Gives good examples to back whatever she is teaching and makes it clear what she wants in her essays and assignments.

You will love this class as long as you show up and give it your best effort. She is not a super tough grader, but you still receive the grade that you earn based on your work in the class. There are some extra credit opportunities if you need a boost in your grade a few times throughout the semester. I never loved writing, but I liked this class.

I had her for ENG 101 and chose her for ENG 102 because she is phenomenal!! I have never had a professor so dedicated to their job. She takes her time to make sure you understand everything, if it was not for her I still would not know how to write an essay. She also picks good topics for us to write about so your not bored with what you write.

Great professor. Class is four 3-4 page essays, one 5-6 essay, and a final reflection essay. Sciortino is strict on attendance but is very engaging with her students. She is always happy to answer any questions about your essays and will certainly guide you in the write direction. I am looking forward to hopefully having her again for English 102.

A very down to earth professor. Very relatable and does not ask too much of you. She is very strict on attendance so you should make sure to attend every class. You honestly could not ask for a better professor. I mean, she has to be my most favorite professor alive. Her class is relatively easy; you have to do the work, and you will be fine. She goes over your essays step by step with everyone individually, which was terrific and super beneficial. She knew when to have fun but also when to be serious.

One of my favorite educators, if not my favorite I've had in so far. Each assignment builds off of each other, and no assignment feels useless. Everything is also broken down very well, making essays very easy to write, along with the amount of time given per essay. Grades are also fair, and feel very rewarding.

The best professor for English 101! 10/10! Each assignment builds off of each other, and no assignment is unnecessary. In order to pass the class you must put in the work, & turn everything in on time.

I am taking Dr. Sciortino for CSW100. She is the BEST! Totally down to earth, super nice and is fun. I was dreading this 1 credit mandatory class, but she has made it painless. I never mind going to her class and actually look forward to it. I am hoping to take her English classes next semester.

She is a cool Professor to have.

She is super accessible in and out of the classroom, a fair grader, provides great feedback,never fails to provide support and help when needed. She's really good at breaking down assignments so you don't feel overwhelmed. She constantly shows that she truly cares about her students.

Professor Sciortino was amazing!!! I took her Eng101 and 102 classes and both were great. Lots of essays to write in 101, but she makes it easy to learn how to write a proper essay. I will definitely miss having her as a professor. Take her class!!!!!!

Dr. Sciortino is the best professor for ENG 101 and 102! She's initially strict, but not scary. Be prepared for strict attendance policy, discussion boards, and essay deadlines. But it's worth taking her class!

She is a great teacher and very understanding. Homework is usually due each class but it is very fair and almost all of it is towards your essays. Easy A if you do the work and show up to class. Favorite professor at mercer!!

The professor is super helpful and makes the class engaging. Definitely use resources like unstuck ai and the free textbook to stay on top of things - the workload is manageable if you keep up. An easy A if you put in the effort.

This professor truly revived my love for English and writing. She is clearly a passionate teacher and gives good feedback. I learned a lot from her. I appreciate the strictness because it kept me accountable. Her rules and expectations aided me in getting better at time management. I am taking her again next semester and could not be more excited!

Great class, very helpful with questions and always communicative about deadlines and due dates. Gives ample time to complete assignments. She was also just very friendly and easy to talk to. This class has helped me learn how to write better overall and I'll be taking what I learned here and applying it to the rest of college.

Dr. Sciortino is a great professor. She teaches you how to write essays and time management. I highly recommend her to any freshman to learn new skills. She is fair in grading and easy to talk to when you have questions. 10/10

She is funny, and we had a good time in her class. I remember when she called a student's paragraph mid and we started to laugh are heads off. She taught me how to write better essays than I did before.

She is very kind, and funny. As well has helpful with essays, and would help you a lot when you would ask for it. Taking her class was fun and enjoyable, I would recommend it and defiantly take it again!

I'm gonna be honest I learned nothing in high school. Nothing. Dr. S taught my how to write a paragraph, a thesis and eventually a 7 page essay. Couldn't believe I could do that. She is a magician. I worship the ground she walks on. Take her!

Dr. Sciortino treats us like people, not just 18 year old college students. I'll never forget the way she made me feel. Always positive and uplifting. She's one of those professors that leaves a mark and you'll never forget.

Dr. Sciortino is a great professor. She's very interactive; she helps with questions. She can be strict at times, but most of the time it's not without a reason. I would be wary that there are weekly discussion posts; while they can be stressful, I found them beneficial, as they go along with the essay and allow you to keep up with the work.
