Definitely the worst teacher i've ever come in contact with. Extremely hard to understand. She gives horrible notes. She counts off for spelling yet she misspells half of what she writes. She can't teach. She has her Ph.D but she doesn't deserve it . Tests are ridiculous, she tells us to study the wrong things, Labs are long, hard, and pointless.
bio 104 was not near as bad as the other person made it seem. One will have to study to pass this class, but the information is all given in the notes. Perhaps if the other reviewer would have studied it wouldn't have been so hard. She stays with the class during labs and offers help,I don't like seeing her slammed by someone who didn't try.
THE BEST TEACHER IN THE WORLD. SHE ACTUALLY CARES ABOUT HER STUDENTS AND ALL ASPECTS OF THERE LIVES. IT IS SO REFRESHING TO SEE A TEACHER SO PASSIONETTE ABOUT HER FIELD. SHE MADE LEARNING THE MATERIAL FUN AND EXPLAINED IT IN A VERY PREPARED MANNER. I WOULD RECOMMEND HER TO EVERYONE. SHE IS HARD BUT IT IS WORTH ALL THE HARD WORK AND SELF MOTIVATION.
She is the most amazing teacher I have had. If you work for her then she will work for you. She truly wants you to succeed and understand what you are doing, and she goes and above and beyond to help her students. She is an amazing professor. I love her to death. I would reccomend her to everyone!
not only was she 3 weeks late to come to the class, it was also VERY hard to understand her. it is frustrating that she counts off for spelling for thing she cant even pronounce. how are you supposed to learn with that? granted she gave me a lot of extra points, but if she were a better teacher i wouldnt have needed them.
She is the hardest most unclear teacher ever. At all cost stay away from her class if you can. She teaches in a way that is not going to help you in your Nursing career. It is unbelievable at the unclarity of this teacher. STAY AWAY!
I LOVE Dr. D. I don't know what these people are talking about bashing her. Given, she is difficult to understand at first, but once you're in her class about a week or two, you can understand her perfectly. She really helps her students out and will go to the ends of the world to help you understand the material. WONDERFUL TEACHER!!!
SHE'S GREAT! She will make you work for every point you get, so if you want to muddle through without actually learning anything, she is not for you. If you want to be confident in your knowledge of the subject at the end of the term, she is the best there is! Lazy people, don't bother. You just distract the rest of us with your whining.
Dr. D was great. As long as you put forth the effort to attend class, do your assignments, and ask questions she will help you out. She wants you to learn the concepts and understand them. If you like to take the easy way out then dont take her class. She does take off for spelling on test. I enjoyed her as an instructor.
This is the smartest and kindest teacher there. She will explain things in the easiest ways. She will meet with you and give you tudoring. the basher must have been a slacker in class. She will teach you in a way the the nclex will ask you after nursing school. super helpful++++
She is Awesome, she really cares for her students, she cares that they do learn something, and you will learn something to, she don't just give out grades you earn them but you learn and she has such a great personality and is fun to be around.
By definition, you can not call her a teacher. She teaches nothing. She relied on the online videos for our lectures and in class only put up power points. help? "read the book and do the labs." Maybe if she didn't bring he kids to every class she would be more attentive to her class. I understand an emergency every now and then, but not EVERY clas
I had Dr.D for Bio 201, Bio202, and Bio220. She is the most wonderful teacher I have ever had. I start the Nursing program this fall and, because of her, I feel prepared for the independant study that will be required. Her classes are not for the lazy. You will have to work for your grade!
she does teach and you will learn in her class. she can interest you but her test are hard!!! she takes off for spelling and its hard to pass. I would not retake her.
She is not a teacher for a student that is interested in an easy A. She makes her classes very challenging and if you work hard, you will learn tons of info! She makes other "hard" classes feel like a cake walk. I have taken her for BIO 201 and BIO 220.
This teacher has her pets. She will go over things in such a quick fashion, the students are perplexed when she is finished. She rushes through things and runs you out of the class 1 hour before the class is actually over. Her focus and the actual tests are very different. TAKE SOMEONE ELSE.
You cannot make an A unless you have LOTS of time to study and learn every tedious detail she teaches about. (and you HAVE to have A's in these to get in to the nursing program) I am normally an A student, but barely made B's in 201 and 220. She is extremely helpful outside class, IF you never miss class and show interest in the subject.
She has "PETS". Would not recommend.
She has pets, and does not teach from the her notes she gives or from the book. Also not helpful outside of the classroom, if you ask for help, she will tell you to ask a classmate. Recommend to take another professor.
I had Dr D for 201 202 and 220. Yes her test are tough, but she explains things very thoroughly and is very interactive with the class. If you are a slacker do not take her class. She will not give you a grade just for showing up and expects you to study and understand the material. She is one of the best teachers I have ever had.
Yes, she does have her pets, but as a teacher she is passionate about what she teaches. The reason why she is hard is to prepare students for nursing school. If you take her for at least one Biology you will know how to prepare for nursing school. Her test are hard but not unpassable. Her lab test are not as difficult.
She's Hard but fair, what she teaches will end up on the test. As to favorites, if you don't put any effort in the class, she won't put any effort into you. In her own words, If you just want a grade for showing up, you need to go somewhere else"
Toughest teacher you will ever have. A must for nursing students. She wants you to make an A and will help you when you care enough to ask. Her "pets" are the students who express an interest in working hard. Not a class for freshman or slackers. Mature students will appreciate Dr. D.
I had Dr. D for 201, 202, and 220. She is very hard and expects you to work! I am now in my 3rd semester of Nursing and look back every day and thank my lucky stars for Dr.D. The content she teaches will prepare you for Nursing and the hectic style of the Nursing classes. She is a MUST for pre Nursing students!
She is really tough but will help you anytime if you make the effort! This isn't a class for the lazy but she prepares you for the Nursing program! Pay attention, ask questions, study daily and participate and you will be just fine! She doesn't have "pets" as others have stated, just won't put effort into people who aren't putting effort in.
I loved almost everything about Dr Ds classes except the always insanely hard lecture tests that are impossible to ace unless you know the information front and back and can picture every piece in your head in the testing center where no one shuts the door so you can listen to every dingbat coming in. I am so grateful for her teaching here.
Dr D is a very nice person but her class is quite hard. What you think you know won't matter because Dr D teaches from lots of notes she acquired while studying for her PHD. She also has no problem telling you that you are not smart. If you take her be ready because if you don't understand something she will not wait for you.
Loved her! She gives alot of material but she goes out of her way to make sure you get it but when she asks if you get it be honest. She is a must have for any medical students
Love Dr.D..If YOU are lazy do NOT take this class! If you really want to learn and have good study habbts and interested in medical you will love Dr.D She truly cares for those who WANT to learn.she will bend over backwards for you.She did not design her class for failure she designed her class for suceeding.Yes shes a hard teacher but U WILL LEARN
Dr. D honestly cares about each student. But she is not afraid to kick your butt! She's brutally honest but she is fantastic. I recommend her to everyone. I felt comfortable asking for extra help and she never disappointed. I took her BIO202 and BIO 220. She has an amazing passion for biology that will rub off on you. :)
Great professor, everything you want in an instructor. Prepares you for related professions post graduation. If you do what she asks, you will EARN an A.
"Diva" Pradhan will get on your nerves. She's rude, insulting, and frequently tells us that we're all going to kill our patients...and that she hopes she never has to be treated by us. She's crystal clear on what will be tested, but she's honestly a very tough pill to swallow. Your mileage may vary.
Dr. Pradhan was the most intimidating, yet the best professor I've ever had. She taught us to stop making excuses and have high expectations for ourselves. She is clear and quickly gets to the point when explaining concepts. Plus she's hilarious! She is tough because she wants us to work hard. I miss her!
Dr. D is one of the best teachers I have ever taken. She makes you know the material and not just memorize it. She not only cares about you in class but also outside of class too. She truly cares about her student. If you communicate wit her she will be super helpful. If you can pass her class you will do great in nursing school.
Do not miss class. She is an excellent teacher. Tough but fair. If you care about your grade, she will care about your grade. She breaks down A&P to its most basic parts. You must apply yourself in this class because if you don't, you might as well drop it and take a bird course. Not for the faint of heart. You will earn your grade.
By far the hardest class I've taken. A lot of memorizing. She comes off catty and harsh, but she's an excellent teacher and she's very caring of her students. You will definitely have to work for your grade, but if she sees you trying she will always help you out. One of the BEST teachers I've had.
rushed to finish early
She is one of the best Professor
Everyone either loves her or hates her. Dr. D is the best professor I have ever had (now I'm in my fourth year of college.) You won't have another professor care about you and your education as much as her. She is definitely tough, but her lectures are great and she tells you HOW to study. Gives extra credit. She's very passionate about biology.
TERRIBLE! DO NOT TAKE HER ONLINE. Her foreign accent makes it hard to understand. I took more time trying to figure out what she was saying than actually studying. Very aggravating.
If you are looking for an easy teacher, she is not it. Dr. D is a pretty tough teacher but she is helpful and fair. I had her for BIO200 and 202 and honestly I am so glad I did. Her tests are pretty hard and if you do not study the lecture notes and what she underlines in the book, you are in big trouble. I really enjoyed her class and recommend it
Very good teacher. Need to study on your own though and read the book. She explains things very well and is a funny overall great person. Don't take this class if you're looking to skip alot and not study just a little bit every night. Overall suggestion: Take her.
Her class was hard not too mention fast if you do not BIO at all avoid at all cost working hard is not just enough for this class. if you understand the material well you will love this class and expect to have a good time. if not AVOID AT ALL COST!!!
Her online class is not from her. It is all from the McGraw-Hill. You study alone. She doesn't do anything. Just grade? Even you miss the due date, you never get any make up except what she mentioned on the syllabus. I don't think she is willing to help students.
She was a great teacher. She really knows what she is talking about, but the class is very hard. You have to attend class just to make sure you get all the information or you will be completely lost just in one day. She doesnt give extra credit, which sucked and you really have to do the homework or you are going to fail.
Dr. D was one of my favorite teachers at Calhoun. I took her for A&P2 and wish I would've taken her for A&P1. If you attend class regularly and show her that you're trying, she will pass you with the letter grade you DESERVE. She will go out of her way to help students if they need it. She's very intelligent. I recommend her 100%
Dr. D is a good teacher and you can really learn a lot from her! She is tough at times, but she's always fair. Her lectures are never boring. She always makes sure the class understands everything before moving on. She really cares about her students! I wouldn't recommend her to anyone that isn't willing to dedicate themselves and work hard.
Dr. D is by far one of my most favorite teachers ever. She is a very fair grader, you reap what you sew in her class. She takes the content seriously and she will make sure you understand what she is teaching. She is also very funny and will occasionally kid with the class. All around, if you're not a slacker you will enjoy the class thoroughly.
I took this course online. What helped me most on the tests was writing out the quiz questions and answers. If you fill in answers whether right or wrong on the quiz its an automatic 100. You never receive the correct answers on the quiz which is a downside but you can look them all up and have a great tool for the test.
I took Dr. D for a&p2 and now I am in nursing school at UAH and so far everything she covered in class we have had a test on. If you plan on going into nursing I highly recommend her. Show up, be prepared to participate in class and take notes. You'll be very prepared for pathophysiology in nursing school.
Horrible, online teacher. 40 minutes for 54 questions is not enough time. The questions that are on the quiz she rewords and uses different terminology. Multiple chose questions are more than 4 choices, sometimes 8, very few T/F. Stay away from this instructor if you just need a science credit.
You are only given 14 minutes for a 20 question quiz. Thats not even fair. On her tests you're given 30 minutes for a total of 50 questions.
AWFUL as she can Be. Meanwhile she's acts like she's ALL THAT.
She was somewhat rude to me right away. She never interacted with the class during the semester. Your grades consist of : lab work, quizzes and test. If you do the work you will pass, but I just did not like her. I did not feel like she cared about her students at all.
This class was super hard. You must memorize so much for one test. Then the test is worded so weird, even if you know the answer it trips you up. She is funny and you do learn alot in this class but i would recommend avoiding her class at all costs especially if you are also taking other classes at the same time. You must have tons of time for this
This teacher is terrible. She is so rude and mean. I had accidentally signed up for homework wrong and she literally cussed me out except with foul language. When we had case studies she would give everyone a bad grade and say we were all wrong. Shes not always right. I will never take her again shes awful.
She is very smart and knows what she is talking about. Although that is true, she is very rude. She says it is okay to skip class but then throws it in your face. If you get an answer wrong, instead of helping you she criticizes you. If you do the work and study HARD you will do fine. I would try and stay away from her class if possible.
I do not recommend her class at all. I dropped it because I was doing bad but also because I did not realize I was taking 17 credit hours with a full-time job. SHE CAN BE RUDE. She was being hateful saying I needed to study more and I told her my boyfriend had recently passed and OH MY she was like there is plenty of men out there..u need to study.
Awful. I would not recommend her to anyone. Ive NEVER had any problems in classes and I considered dropping her class 1 month in. She is right, you are wrong end of discussion. I hope I am still able to be accepted into nursing school after taking her ridiculous class.
Worst teacher you could take. 0/10. You get 20 minutes for 21 discussion questions. Absolutely ridiculous teacher. I dont understand how she still has a job. The good reviews on here were probably left by her.
Honestly dont even waste your time with this dreadful teacher. I asked if there were any more study materials I could use to help pass her class, she blamed my poor grade on my children and refused to help in any type of way because had I not had children I would be passing her class. Still considering reporting her.
All I can say is she is terrible and rude. Not helpful at all.
truthfully one of the worst online classes in history. when i tell you the Mcgraw site we used that every week we had 4 labs, 4 of the unit works which can go over 50+ sections, five 100 question quizzes, and 4 100 question exams. EVERY SINGLE WEEK. literally the most extra class every and the site always glitches so u can turn in ur work! RUN!!
The assignments are outrageous. I have never done so much work that took the professor very little preparation. Literally buy an access code and do assignments from the code. The lectures she shares comes directly from the powerpoint she shares. Don't expect to learn, just work on obtaining a credit. each section is about 500 total questions.
Tests don't foster an understanding of concept objectives & focus on obscure things mentioned offhandedly in small text or not at all. By memorizing all outlines, chapter content, & doing independent research 24/7, my typical exam score was a -B & I made 98 in Cal 2. Exams seem designed to undermine students, not to test knowledge of concepts.
"Professor less Course", she doesn't contribute to what you learn, you read the textbook by yourself, do the labs and take quizzes and tests online using McGraw-Hill. Her extra credit is useless, one of the extra credit quizzes itself had incorrect answers.
She does none of the teaching in the course, other than a basic introduce-yourself assignment. The rest is done through a prefabricated (and bad) course on McGraw Hill Connect. She's also very inflexible with the arbitrary digital due dates that she could change on a whim, even when real-life circumstances preclude getting something done on time.
This was by far the most difficult class I've ever taken. The study guides for tests are very vague and hardly cover any of the material on the exam. The amount of homework given is also completely absurd, as she uses McGraw Hill which is notorious for the amount of work it gives. No amount of studying helps. Run as fast as you can from this class.
The worst Professor I have ever had. Doesn't teach at all except Mcgraw Hill courses which are absolutely horrendous. Completely rude and inflexible with any due dates. An excessive amount of homework with no instruction, inspiration, or notes from her at all. DO NOT take this class if you struggle in science. Biggest mistake of my Calhoun career.
The worst professor I have ever had. She never taught anything in this class because it was all Mcgraw hill courses. Every time I sent her an email she would reply with a rude attitude like she didn't want to help me. The homework is nothing like the quizzes, the quizzes are nothing like the tests and the tests are proctored. DO NOT take this class
Do not take this class. Professor is extremely rude and is not lenient at all. You do the work all on McGraw which is absolutely terrible. There is a lot of reading and assignments, but they don't really help you with the exams. She is very disrespectful and belittling. I will never take this class again and in my opinion she should be reported.
She is extremely rude even through email. She claimed she could not receive emails and only could discuss through Blackboard because my emails went to her "clutter folder." Yet she responded to 7 of my emails saying she couldn't. BB would not allow me to send the required screenshot she needed from me. I withdrew less than 2 weeks of having her...
Do not take if you only need a science credit! She is unforgiving of mistakes and will not help you when you are wrong, she belittles you in front of the class for not knowing the answer. Also, everyone I had spoken to in my class was also lost and/or not making good grades on things which I think speaks more about the professor than the students.
Don't take her for this class. Assignment HEAVY, no help, and professor is nonprofessional. If you have a chance to take some else, do it. I struggled in this class badly and barely passed with a B.
I think she's an alright professor. She gives a lot of opportunities for bonus points, but she is kinda mean. She'll ask you a question and if you don't know the answer be prepared for her to embarrass you in front of the class. I don't know that I would take her class again but it was manageable. You'll be fine if you study. SPELLING COUNTS!
she gives very long McGraw hill assingments like 60-130 concept that does not help at all and she say everything i said will be on the test but 25% is on the test the rest just makes no sense she gives you case studies to do research but is not satisfied with your answers i would not take it again with her
If you plan to take an intro level biology class prepare to be alarmed if you take it with Divya. She has an attitude problem and is very rude in course messages. She is timely in terms of replying/sending out reminders for assignments. She doesn't actually teach the class, it's all McGraw Hill textbook learning. Tests are nothing like homework
She can be very mean especially when you answer a question wrong. Some people even leave in the middle of class because of it. Exams are hard and homework is long. That being said I think she's smart and prepares you for the reality of the healthcare field. I've worked with doctors meaner than her as a medical assistant. STUDY BEFORE CLASS.
I will never ever ever take a class from this professor again. Truly.
She is very smart and knows what she's talking about. If you're planning on going into healthcare I think she is great for prepping you for nursing/med school. She can be rude sometimes, but I honestly don't think she's that bad. Memorizing doesn't take you that far. Understand the concepts and key words
If you need any sort of help you won't find it here.
Extremely rude. Do not recommend all the work is on McGraw-Hill. Lots of reading lots of extra activities with assignments very time consuming. Tried to take a quiz a day before the due date and it was already closed. Emailed her and her response was 'I literally don't know why you decided to take the quiz a day before the due date anyway"
If you're looking at this before selecting a class, pick literally any other professor. This was the worst class I have ever taken. Labs were fun but It is all on McGraw Hill and you will have to complete 2+ hour assignments every chapter and web cam required for exams. News flash, we have other classes. Most work heavy class I have ever taken.
I absolutely love Dr. D she is my favorite professor ever, she is extremely intelligent and makes her lectures super engaging She makes time feel like it's flying by with how engaged you will be. She loves teaching and if you apply yourself she will love you. She is huge about advocating for her students and will do letters of recommendation.
I made this account solely to rate this professor. She is insanely rude and does not understand that life happens, so whatever you do, don't get sick, or just go ahead and drop. She closes assignments before the deadline and blames you for not doing it earlier. The only time you'll hear from her is when she says "HULLO" every few weeks.
Take this class if you are interested in biology, otherwise, beware. She uses the ever terrific McGraw Hill textbook assignments that will suck up time, even if you do well. You will have hundreds of questions, terrible textbook access, and even worse testing. Her weighting system is atrocious and is extremely unforgiving.
I'm a senior at another school now, but I'm here to report just how horrible this professor was. Avoid her at all cost. She has no empathy or compassion for her students and should honestly be a drill sergeant instead of a professor. You can barely understand her when she speaks and is just overall rude . Her negative energy is STRONG.
I took this class online and she's the worst professor I have ever taken in my time at Calhoun. Her assignments consist of quizzes and McGraw Hill assignments that have nothing to do with the test so don't even bother studying or doing the extra credit because it won't help. The only reason this rating is a 1 is because I couldn't put 0 or less.
I recently dropped this teacher and I will go ahead and let anyone know in the future, if she's still teaching there, that she created a hostile environment in her online class. Suggested that we were all cheaters in the first announcement. Reported her to student advocate and then reported her to the chair of the department.
Calls her students dumb and tells them they aren't smart enough to work in the field they want. Shames them for something like drinking a soda, many dropped the class because of her. The homework has questions not related to the unit at all, and the last unit of homework took me 12 hours to do. Very rude and intimidating. No empathy, discouraging.
