The best EDEL teacher you could have! She is so passionate about education and wants you to understand, not memorize, what is covered in class. The tests are not difficult, and the only homework you have is textbook reading. I wish she would teach all EDEL classes! :)

This was her first time teaching EDEL 244, but it totally didn't show. She is an amazing teacher who cares deeply for her students...and she's easy. I TOTALLY recommend her!

SUPER easy class! I had this as a night class and Mrs. Denton almost always let us out early! We had so much fun! I'm not sure how much I learned... but I at least had a fun/easy class!

She is a great teacher! Very helpful and understanding esp. of personal matters. She made class fun and interesting. Only thing is study your butt off for the midterm! It is harder than the final!

I had this professor my freshmen year back in 1991. I wasn't sure I really wanted to be a teacher. But, this professor saw something. She inspired me to be the teacher I am today. I am in my 14th year of being an elementary teacher and I owe Mrs. Denton greatly!!!

She was my university supervisor for student teaching. She was very positive and always was willing to help when needed. I was very blessed to be placed with her. I had her for EDEL 244 as well and loved her then too. Take her class when possible; you won't be disappointed!

Amazing professor!! She is so nice and really cares about her students! She is the sweetest! Class is easy and fun! Only two tests and they are easy. I am so glad I got her as my professor! Truly loved the class!

I loved having Dixie as my 100 professor and then when I found out she was my 200 professor I couldn't be happier! She makes class fun and interesting. Also, if you ever need help she will help you! You know when everything is due and she is an easy grader as long as you do everything required.

Dixie is awesome! Her passion for teaching is out of this world. She truly cares about you and the profession and praises you for choosing the teaching profession. Love her! We also only had one test the whole semester which was extremely easy.

She's a wonderful teacher. I hope to have a love for children like she does after all this time. I hope to be just as inspirational as her. Great class. It teaches you the basics of teaching.

Mrs. Denton is truly an inspirational woman. She genuinely cares about her students & the children her students will be teaching in the future. She will get you excited about teaching during every lecture!

Her passion is incredible and makes the lectures so much better! I don't recommend missing class as she will do hands on activities that will reappear on the final. Her test are very easy as she is more than willing to help the students out. She will hold study sessions and literally tell you the topics of each question. She loves all her students!

I really enjoyed EDEL100 with Mrs. Denton. She is very inspirational and loves what she does. The first part of the semester we had readings but not the second half. We only had 2 one and a half page papers and a midterm and final. You do have to complete 50 hours volunteering but you have to do that for any EDEL100 class and its not that bad.

Dixie is probably the most inspirational human being that I've met. She cares so much about teaching and she loves each and every single one of her students. She cries and gets goosebumps almost every single class because of how passionate she is about teaching. I look forward to her class every day and it's also very easy! Without a doubt the best

I love Mrs. Denton! She's super sweet and understanding, and I found her class to be both fun and engaging. If you have the option for EDEL 100, definitely choose her. If I have another opportunity to have her, I'd sign up for her class ASAP. There's one book you need, and the midterm is over a section of it, but it's pretty easy. Highly recommend!

By far my favorite teacher of all time. I have never had a teacher who was more inspiring. She is such an easy grader (I finished the class with a 103%) and I have never met anyone who cared more for their students than she does. I honestly can't say enough great things about her. I am so sad that she doesn't teach any higher eel classes!

Get ready for goosebumps. Mrs. Denton is the most inspirational instructor and perfect to have for teaching majors. She will ensure your confidence in your career choice. All of her lectures are moving and you might even tear up in a few of them. She truly cares about each individual and she will make you feel very important as an educator.

Denton inspired me to commit to teaching in a low SES community with all of the videos and TED talks we watched. You do need 50 hours of volunteering throughout the semester.

THE BEST COLLEGE PROF IN THE WORLD! She has a heart of gold and made me feel like a precious jewel. I learned so much during the semester, but did not have a lot of homework(besides the volunteer hours). You can really tell she loves her job.

Ms. Denton was by far my favorite teacher that I've had! She teaches lessons through stories and experiences. She made the class very enjoyable by having us do different activities or watch videos so there was never a dull moment. We only had a midterm and final and she is always available and open to help you succeed.

She is so sweet like unbelievably sweet. The class was a breeze but it the best way. I learned so much and I feel so much better about teaching. She has written me letters of recommendation.

she's an amazing professor when it comes to edel, and i'd recommend her to everyone i can. she cares about your opinion and is encouraging when it comes to getting your volunteer hours done. her lessons are based on hands-on activities and videos, and she has guest speakers in to inspire her class a few times during the semester. AMAZING!

The kindest woman you will ever meet. She is setting you up to be the best teacher you can be. She gives you plenty of chances to participate in class and she makes class so much fun. She does take attendance and she prepares you for all quizzes/finals. She is the best professor I have ever had.

Dixie is amazing! I loved her class. She made me even more excited on my journey of becoming a teacher, and I can't wait! She does give points for class so go, I missed class once and my grade dropped some, but It's easy to get up!

Very sweet and caring. Not tech savvy. Tests are in class on paper and they are pretty loaded. She tried to give us a day where we could correct those but I missed that day so thats why I got a B in the class. It really was a easy class. I learned a lot about being a teacher I also loved the 50 hours of service & the end of the year project too.

She is an amazing professor. She clearly shows how much she loves the teaching profession and cares for all of her students. She's pretty flexible and prepares you well for exams. This class is an easy A as long as you come to class and get your service hours.

Denton was so kind and very understanding. She knows how to make her class fun. There wasn't a lot of homework since the class requires 50 service hours which was really nice.

She is very sweet and cares a lot about the topics. Teaching is very important to her and wants you to understand how important you will be to the students. Take notes over lessons and guest speakers. Overall a very great class but be prepared to get service hours.

Mrs. Denton is the best professor to ever walk!! She was my student teaching supervisor and made a stressful process as doable as she could. She was so so helpful and made my student teaching experience one that I will never forget.

All her lessons were inspiring and informative, and I learned so much while still enjoying myself. Little to no work outside of class, so it's an easy A if you just show up!

Mrs. Denton genuinely loves her job and her students. She has experience in the classroom, and this is super helpful in terms of how she runs the class. There are very few assignments, and she essentially grades on completion. This class is super easy, and you should definitely take it with her.

Denton is a great professor and knows a lot about the teaching field. You have to show up and participate in class very often, but it's very easy. No textbook, but you have to buy a $10 book. Have to do at least 50 hrs of volunteering, so assignments are rare. Tests are hard so make sure you study or you will fail them.

This class is amazing with Dixie. She is truly such a kind hearted person, who cares so much about the teaching field. You will need the book, "Start Right Now" and you will have a final project and 1-2 tests. The main thing about this course is that you will need 50 service hours, or else you fail. Dixie is truly the best!

I love Denton. It was clear that she cared about what she was teaching. It wasn't really clear what we were supposed to be learning, it's not structured like a typical lecture class but it definitely gets you excited about teaching. The biggest thing is service hours. Make sure you start as soon as possible or you'll get stressed really easily.

Professor Denton is my favorite professor at Ball State. She absolutely loves what she does and her positivity is infectious! She is easy to talk to and if you have any questions or concerns, she is always there to help. I could not recommend her more and if I could give her 10 stars I would!

Professor Denton has such a big heart. If you listen and have a passion for what she is teaching it will come easy. If you love teaching you will get a good grade. 50 hours of volunteering is the hardest part.

I had Professor Denton for my FYS class, and she was overall an amazing teacher! She made her classes engaging, and we always had a lot of laughs. However, the one thing about her that was off-putting is that she is really disorganized. She gave us a syllabus at the beginning of the semester, and we did not follow it at all.
