I agree with everyone's comments on that her tests have nothing to really do with her PP or study guide, & thats if she decides to make one. There's a group pres.+8pg paper, which she grades really hard. The only reason I got a B in her class was b/c I dropped all the info she gave in class and read each pg in the book, twice! She has favorites!

I don't really understand what everyone is talking about. I like her. She is a difficult teacher and she's not all warm and fluffy like many other female teachers but she is nothing but helpful if you ASK for help. If you just talk to her she'll tell you exactly what she wants and then you will get a good grade.

Dr. Koo is an amazing and caring professor. She cares so much about quality and that's why she prepares extra notes and assist students as much as possible. In fact, some had advised me not to take her class because she was hard, but at least I got to learn something useful. She is a subject expert and willing to meet with her students to help them

If you have trouble with the way questions are worded on exams do not take Koo. She will confuse you with the way she states questions. You think you know but you don't know what she is asking. If you study the books website, quizes and summary, you will do fine on exams. She Picks random items for exams. Beware!

Koo's teaching is very easy to understand but doesn't seem to add much to lectures, etc. Most of her lectures are simply outlines of the textbook. Her tests are ridiculous, with questions that are confusing and not clearly worded. However, she does curve the tests. Stickler on papers and requires a debate in which she does not regulate well.

Honestly, Koo gets a bad rep in some of these reviews. I don't know if it's just me but her class was fairly simply. She's hilarious, her attitude and spunk is what made me want to keep coming back to her class. 3-4 tests, non-cumulative and a research paper due at the end of the year. Would definitely take one of her classes again

I have never had a worse experience with a teacher in my life. Dixie seems to think her class is the only one students are taking. She grades extremely difficult and does not care about her students whatsoever. If you are trying to fail a class this one is perfect for you. There are 3 tests and 3 papers and discussion boards that required video.

This Professor is ridiculous on how she grades. she grades everything so tough, and not what you think a tough grader is. If your words don't match hers to the letter she fails you. DO not take her whats so ever. this class would make you hate this subject.

if u are thinking about taking 340 with her, think again. VERY hard grader. Exams were VERY hard. The lecture is VERY heavy that it will make u cry. 4 exams (timed), 1 paper, 12 workshops, 3 DB's. Everything is doable, but I don't understand why she grades hard. if u can get some1 else do it. Also, I would give her a rating of 0 & not a 1.

Very knowledgeable professor and an expert in her field, but she is HARD. She has a lot of workshops throughout class that are very helpful but she makes you work with peers. Tests don't really reflect lectures or workshops; they are more technical, & textbook based. Class consists of 4 exams & 1 research project. Good luck. You'll need it.

Dr. Koo is a very passionate professor who demands participation and engagement. If you do not put in the effort to study and participate in discussions you will not pass. Her tests are hard but if you attend class regularly and keep up with the reading they are passible. Some struggle with her class, but her passion and energy are inspiring.

dont get me wrong shes a great professor but there will be lots of reading and videos to watch. tough grader on papers/test, tricky questions on test most of the time. if you don't read/watch videos before a discussion she will kick you out of class and yes she checks. if you're looking for a challenge shes the professor for you.

To be honest, she is a great professor. In this course, you will have to put in your best efforts in order to succeed in this course. Most importantly, you will need to ask questions if something is not clear. If you reach out to her, she is very helpful. There were 3 exams, numerous workshops, and 1 research paper. Just try your best!

Professor Koo is very knowledgable about what she teaches. Generally speaking, research methods is a pretty hard subject but her examples make it easier to understand. I think she is very real and cares about her students successes, as long as you put in the work. She is funny and very easy to talk to.

This professor's confusing style makes lessons hard to follow. In-class support is lacking, she is more focused on moving forward than making sure all students understand. Tests are long and tricky, some are out of topic questions. Sidetracks and inappropriate jokes distract. Consider other professors. Save yourself the time and money.

Dr. Koo is something else and her teaching style definitely isn't for everyone. Her topics and discussions are interesting but do get off topic. Her exams consist of her lectures, readings, and class discussions so try not to miss class if you can help it. If you want a chill & experienced profesor, I'd definitely suggest her.

Dixie Koo's class is no easy feat, but her spunk makes it tolerable. Lectures can be dry, and exams tricky, but using unstuck ai and the textbook helps a lot. Worth taking if you're up for the challenge.

You need to go to class and pay attention, I found them straight forward but make sure you study. She can make some jokes that some may or may not like but overall, just a straightforward get to the point person. Slideshows make sense if you study them enough.

She does not care about students' success in her class or ensuring everyone is on board with her lectures. Does not give any feedback and is a harsh grader. Makes announcements on canvas, that videos/readings need to be watched/read & will be discussed in class, but never mentioned that there will be a quiz. would not recommend taking her.

Possible to get an A but make sure to be on top of reading and video materials (and study!!!). Lots of pop quizzes and majority of grade is based on exams and a paper. Showing up and paying attention is important but also make sure to participate in class discussions when possible. Engaging and interesting lectures. I learned a lot in this course!

at first she may seem chill/easy, she lectures off of slides and goes off on tangents about her personal life and doesn't give much homework. the catch is that the class is discussion heavy and if you're on the introverted side good luck, participation is based off on much you speak in the class. her tests also hard if you dont study/go to class
