I took his class online.. he was prompt in replying and the course was pretty easy.. he seems like a nice guy but I still haven't met him

If you cannot pass his simple classes with A's you are an idiot.

A very good teacher. His lectures are very interesting and straight forward. You can't fail his class.

Great teacher, makes learning fun... but also understandable and easy. If you fail his class... it's cuz you were never there.

He makes this course very interesting because his lectures are fun and very clear, pop quizes are easy just read and you'll do great, and for the tests, just study the notes given and you'll pass. If you're failing or just want to bring your grade up, he provides extra credit.

Only 5 homework assignments, few tests, and pop-quizzes. Very easy! =)

He is awesome.. you could not ask for a better instructor!

He's really nice and funny. I just love his Russian accent!! I'd think it's easier to take his classes ON-LINE cuz I'd think there won't be pop-quizzes ON-LINE :|

I had Dmitriy for Human Resource Management. This lectures are a bit boring, but he does his best to make it interesting. The midterm and final was open book/notes but it was a writen final. It sucks bcause it's a lot of wrting. Expect to write about 5-pages. But if you take good notes and understand the material you'll do good.

Pay attention and participate. Engage him in discussions. He LOVES it. What a joy it is to see his cute face light up. GO TO HIS OFFICE if youa re having ANY trouble. EMAIL HIM. CALL HIM. He is there for you and WANTS you to succede!

GREAT TEACHER! this was my first online class and i also took it over the summer so it was a bit fast paced, but the amount of hw and exams are very reasonable. as long as you do your work and make an effort, you'll do just fine. he is very active in the class so it makes it so much more interesting, and you really do learn alot about business.

Great teacher. I learned a lot from his Bus Management - online class. He responses quicky to all e-mails and is on top of all the assignments. Make sure you keep up with assignments, grade can easily fall behind. Good luck!

Maybe he is nice, but this class is crazy even for the very first day. One in-class quiz and 3-page essay as homework... I never had any instructor who gave us such thing on the very first day! This just doesn't make any sense.

Awesome class! He is very friendly, funny, helpful and organized. Homework consists of working pages (which can be long at times) but he covers some of it in the lab section of class. If you keep up with homework and attendance you will do fine. No doubt, I am taking all my business classes with him :)

Dmitriy, is extremly helpful and encourage his students to ask questions. He answer's your questions in a timely manner. I do agree that he can be a little rude at time or use inappropriate comments, but if you point it out, he will apologize. Overall I enjoyed the class

Best online teacher at Chabot hands down. He is well organized, communicates clearly, and teaches in a way that makes the subject matter interesting. I like how he give constructive feedback on assignments in order for you to get the most out of it. I recommend him to anyone taking a business class.

Great Teacher, had him in my summer class and online class. I will be looking to take another business class this summer hopes of him teaching it. He is honest up front and give good feed back. Will not just pass you. We need more teachers like him that respond to emails in a timely manner.Correct and post assignments grades when he says he will.

Dmitriy is really cool and laid back! His tests are online which is a life saver! You can use your notes and HW to help you through them. Do the HW because without doing it, it will affect your grade and you will not be prepared for the tests. Don't miss class! He also gives extra credit opportunities, even for attendance! the class itself was all around a tough class but mr. Dmitriy makes it fun. I would suggest taking this class with him and no other techer. best of all Homework boostes your grade. be prepared for alot of studying.. im gonna miss his class after this semester is over :-( just not te studying ^_^

Dimitri Kalyagin was my International Business Teacher in 2005 and was my favorite teacher at Chabot. The course provided an essential foundation in understanding the world. Everything I learned is still relevant today.

Kalyagin as an AMAZING teacher!!! Recommend him for Bus 1A, unfortunately, he is not teaching 1b :( He is very helpful, and answers your questions thoroughly. A+!!!

I could not decide if I wanted to get into accounting or HR. This instructor is the reason I picked accounting. I was scared I wouldn't understand the subject however, this professor made it so simple to understand. I can't wait to get into the accouting field! Thank you so much Dimitriy!

Dmitriy is an AWESOME teacher and when I mean AWESOME I mean AWESOME! He definitely teaches the class at a level for you to understand, and if you do not understand he will work with individually to help you reach your goal in the course. He provided us with educational options and went above and beyond just being an accounting teacher.

Dmitriy seems to enjoy what he teaches and works to ensure student's understanding. He gets upset if students don't focus on accounting in his class or miss classes. Make sure to do all assignments in class because grades are split 55/45 tests/assignments. I would have made more of an effort to complete the homework if I had remembered that.

I really liked having Dmitriy as my first accounting professor. He really goes out of the way to make sure you understand the materials. He would review exactly what would be on tests ahead of time and you have access to practice exams too. You do need to go to class and study, though. I wish I had him for Bus 1A this fall.

His class has never let you feel sleepy,even if you didn't sleep one night before his class. I like his English speaking because I understand his lecture totally, unlike American teachers who speaks fast and omit some words in a sentence.

Great teach. I liked how he would have copies of the lecture powerpoints so we can just focus on material rather than having to scramble trying to copy down every detail from the lecture. Tests are hard but fair. Make sure to do the online homework.

I had this professor online through Las Positas, and was initially not sure about the course because there's a lot of hw. With his help, and willingness to work through problems, I understood the material and feel great about accounting! (crazy, right?)

I took his online class and it went good. I ended up with an A but it is not so easy I would assume because I think about 30 students dropped the course after the first exam. The class is fairly hard but easy because it's online. If you really want to learn accounting I wouldn't recommend taking this class online because you won't learn much.

Anytime I see a class taught by Mr. Kalyagin I try to take the class. I never in a million years thought I would ever get a good grade in accounting. Dmitriy is available for help and provides tools for all different types of students. I could go on and on about how amazing he is, just take one of his classes and you will know. He's really great. He makes things easy to understand. And is always available for help through his office hours or email. And he does add a degree of competitiveness to his class, which is great! I also like how he is one of those no nonsense kind of teachers and he is VERY efficient. Lots of partner work, which is fine.

Love the way he teaches. His class isn't boring, he actually made me want to come to class. I wouldn't say his class is easy, you have to work for your grade but any class should be that way. Just make sure you do all the work and keep up with the reading/lectures.

Awesome professor made me realize that I can return to college afters years of being away. Stay on top of your work and read the chapter ahead of time. I took his hybrid class which met on campus one day out of the week and I am doing fine. He is awesome if you need some guidance on which CSU/UC you want to transfer to. He's always happy to help

took 1A online during the summer... DROPPED. this class is not easy but i took it again in the fall with kalyagin and COMPLETELY different experience. i actually like accounting now. he really wants you to not only pass but get a good grade. weekly quizzes that are easy if you do learn smart beforehand. study for tests. come to class and learn.

Amazing teacher. Accounting is hard, but he makes it easy to understand and has lots of extra credit chances, including in tests. If you go everyday you get more extra credit on the last day. He really wants you to succeed and has tons of office hours available. He'll help with UC/CSU stuff too!

Accounting is hard and that is to be expected. Ive tried other Financial Accounting classes and Kalyagin is the best by a long margin. There is nothing more to say.

This class is really difficult because of the actual concepts. Dmitriy provides help whenever you ask. He will also help you if you need guidance with your major, jobs, etc. His lectures are easy to follow and he always going around making sure everyone understands the material. Make sure you understand the material and you will pass.

Dmitry is awesome. Made me love accounting. He actually breaks it down and wants students to pass. If you're not serious about school, don't take him. You'll waste his time, your time and your money. His homework is harder than the test. Don't be late. He'll lock you out.

There's HWquizzessimple, small group work activity per chapter, 4 exams, and one accounting cycle project. Show up to each class and you can pass. Take him!

I love Dmitriy! this is actually my first time rating a professor. I loved him. He's very intelligent and he loves what he does. Don't be late for class or leave class in the middle of the lectures bc he gets really annoyed by it. VERY HELPFUL AND CARING TEACHER. really want his students to pass and try their hardest. STUDY HARD!

Lectures are clear and easy to follow along. LearnSmart, HW, quiz, and small group activity per chapter. 4 total exams and 1 project. Be sure to read the book before class and come to class on time. Don't be late! Provides extra credit for each chapter, so you can't really fail. He's great and really helpful. I love accounting because of him.

His lectures are pretty fast-paced so it can be easy to get lost, but he always asks for questions afterward and goes around to help students during in-class activities. Homework is essential to passing but he gives you a week to complete it. He also gives study guides for the tests and you're even allowed a one-page cheat-sheet.

I had him for bus 1A online and it was a very fast paced class. HW and quizzes are due every sunday night at 11:55. I think this class was challenging but he helps you and answers your questions quickly. He also helps you with any homework questions during his office hours and he will make the time to help you.

I took his online late start class. He said that was the hardest version of the class, but it wasn't THAT bad. 1 chapter a week with learnsmart, homework and quiz and a test every 3 chapters. Quizzes were tough. You should always get an A on the homework because of the check my work feature. use homework during the tests. GO TO THE FREE TUTORS!

Great professor, but the class is incredibly hard. This is an intro class, and is harder than advance stats, there is not need for this class to be this hard. Take the class if you need to, only if you need to, more people drop from it than math classes, I wonder why.

Professor Dmitry just made accounting so much fun to learn! He is a tough grader, but as long as you listen, participate, do hw and ask questions or clarification, you'll be fine. AND I STRESS NOT TO USE YOUR PHONES DURING CLASS. That is one of the major reasons students don't pass the class. Find a study buddy or a buddy if you're struggling.

Mr. Kalyagin inspired me to pursue Accounting as a major. He is dedicated to his students and facilitating their comprehension of the subject. There are group projects and one large take home project, but work well with the reading.

He is amazing, motivational, and always will be helpful. The class was interesting never boring. If you are looking for a good teacher, there is him.

Really great professor. Really straight forward. Homework is online for every chapter. Homework is pretty long but it prepares you well for quizzes and texts. Quizzes are 10 questions, all in person and very straight forward. Sometimes let's quizzes be open book. He does lecture and also in class activities which is with partners and worth 5 points. There's 4 tests. 3rd test he allows you to use 1 page hand written notes only front side. Other than that, he's such a great professor. Show up, do the homework worth 10 points and the other worth 32. Study for quizzes 10 points each. A LOT of extra credit. Every quiz has an extra point and tests have up to about 5 extra credit points. And study for the tests and it's such an easy A.

Professor Dmitriy is probably the best teacher for BUS1A. This was my first business class and Dmitriy made it an amazing experience. You will need a textbook mainly for access to the homework which is online. You don't really need to read since his lectures are really good as long as you take good notes. The class is based off points so do all hw!

His teaching style is so engaging and enriching. He offers a lot of extra credit, so please take advantage of them. If you do the homework and study you should easily get an A.

Prof. Dmitriy's online class was more informative than many of my on campus classes. He is so present in the class. Dmitriy constantly communicated with us, asked if we had questions and replied right away. What a devotion to his profession and an inspiration to others!

One of the best Accounting teachers in Chabot. He provides feedback for any newcomers or veterans in Accounting. There's no reason to skip class because everything is brief and his lectures are a ton of fun. He only gives you what you need to succeed, and no fluff. He's also helped plan out for transfer and CPA exam.

Dmitriy is my favorite professor. He is highly organised. He always takes care of his students, sends timely reminders of deadlines which is nice. The most great thing about him is his talent of explaining complicated things with simple words. His lectures are really great!

My first online class at Chabot and this professor is AMAZING. He is super organized and I can tell he puts so much effort into this class making it a true learning experience for an online course. I wish more professors taught like him.

This was the best teacher I think Ive ever had. Hes a great teacher, makes it easy to learn the material. He is a quick grader. He will work with you especially if you attend office hours. Everything is great as long as you do the work and the reading.

1A and 1B are difficult, especially 1A. But Mr. Kalyagin does a great job of stripping away the fluff and explaining the rest so you are well prepared for the homework/ exams. I had him in 2019/2020, so I had both classroom and online instruction. He is very good at both - hes funnier in class. The extra credit helps.

Really good teacher would recommend. He allows his students to take cheat sheets for the exam which can be very useful for remembering formulas.

He is easily one of the best professors I had at Chabot College. Each week, he would give out a reading assignment, HW, discussion, and quiz due on Sunday. Every 3 chapters is an exam. I highly recommend this professor.

Awesome professor

One of the best professors I've ever taken. Everything is straight forward and you have to work for a good grade. Lectures are great and he will always answer your questions. My favorite thing about him is that he always reminds students about special programs or ways to attain an associates degree and links them as well.

To be honest the class work is not easy but I don't think accouting is. But he is a wonderful professor who wants to see you succeed! His lectures may be long but really help you understand the chapter materials. All of his work is done through connect so textbook is mandatory. He also gives a couple extra credit points on almost everything!

This is a great time to take online classes at Chabot College to develop job skills, earn Certificates of Achievement, and find interest in new job possibilities. Business 7 was a tough class but I learned a great deal and the instructor is fair and accommodating when technical problems arise.

If you're a Business major, he is an amazing professor. His youtube has step by step guides for Business majors to get their AD-Ts at Chabot. He is very passionate about his work and is a very inspirational person.

he's the best professor I've ever, had his lectures are so clear, quick at replying on canvas, and he wouldn't leave class until everyone understands the chapter, this is my second course with professor Dmitriy, and I'm planing to take managerial accounting with him, if you really wanna understand accounting and have a fun lecture take it with him.

This was a wonderful class. It was a great introduction to accounting, especially since I was intimidated by the math part. This professor was friendly, engaging, and very available for questions. He went out of his way to make resources and information available for students. I'm not even an accounting major, but I'd take another class from him.

Professor Kalyagin is incredible, he is very passionate about accounting. I am so intimidated by numbers and accounting in general. However he really wants his students to give it a try and he makes himself available to his students. His lectures are very clear and his assignments are very straight forward. You need to buy the textbook. Each week gives out homework, discussion question, smartbook, and a quiz. He gives a week to do it. He very easy to get in contact and helpful if you are stuck on a question. Test can be hard but studying will be helpful. Overall, its an easy class and the professor is useful.

I have had the best two semesters learning from Professor Kalyagin. I took him for 1A and 1B. He made learning fun and created a safe environment for us to ask questions. He is very knowledgable about transfer or any other college related questions. Coming to class is mandatory! I highly recommend taking him, it is worth it!

Ok so I took Dmitriy K. for Bus 1A-1B and all I have to say are good things about him. He is very helpful and knowledgeable about the subject. Additionally, he has a great class structure. I like that he usually informs students of the possibilities of obtaining more than one degree and encourages students to get their business certificates! A++

He is passionate about teaching and often explain the knowledge in an easy-to-comprehend way. The workload of homework is moderate. No need to read a lot. After hearing his lecture and participating in class, reading the textbook becomes faster and easier. He is also caring for students and resourceful.

Professor Dmitriy Kalyagin is very friendly and caring. His teaching style is easy too understand with visual and summary charts. I've taken both bus 1A/1B and for both course I've enjoyed his courses. His lectures are well written and the in class assignments are done in groups. You'll only need to buy the online book as he provides all materials needed for the subject. He's open to answer questions and extra credit is attached to tests as bonus questions.

Attendance is mandatory, but it's definitely worth it. His lectures are informative & engaging. Takes each ch. & breaks it down into digestible print-out slides w/ efficient learning tools, making complex concepts easier to grasp. If you want a solid foundation in accounting, Professor Kalyagin is the way to go!

Professor Kalyagin was awesome, although the class work was challenging he was very clear on what was expected and gave us everything we needed to succeed. I took his class on Summer 2024, his lecture is nice and clear. His grade is fairly and his exam is similar homework and Quizi. Overall, you do all homeworks and quizi, you get A+ easily. He gives a long hour for test which you will pass it without obstacles. I will take any class again. Recommend someone who want to take business class from him.

This is a very great professor and he not only has Broad Knowledge Base but also Complete Teaching Structure that can help us easy study and know how.

Loved this class and it was super fast paced gives you all the tools you'll need to succeed, homework can add up and the class does not stop for anyone. classes were 2> hours long the only thing I would change is the amount of hw or the amount of time given to do it. he is a GREAT ENERGETIC TEACHER but you will struggle if you do not pay attention.

The best Accounting teacher I've had. Professor Dmitriy is always available to help, makes learning fun and easy, and is a very understanding teacher. Great class, homework is manageable time wise, a bit difficult, but professor has resources to help with understanding. Would definitely recommend.

A-Mazing professor. I would say my best, and my most favorite. Professor Kalyagin made each lecture easy to learn and interesting. This only encouraged me to participate and be more attentive. His sincerity will pull you in and you will soon LOVE to be in his class. He makes everyone feel seen and makes sure EVERY question is answered. Great prof!!

His classes are fun while being informative. He really likes the subject and makes it easier for the class to understand some difficult topics and concepts. HW can be a bit heavy as the smart books can be a pain. I've taken him for 2 semesters straight and he's helped me with starting a career in accounting/ financing.

Dmitriy was an amazing teacher! So clear, concise, and makes the class as easy as possible for his students. He cares a lot about his students succeeding in his class and is always checking in. Be prepared for a good amount of a workload but its all manageable if you are on top of it and not procrastinating. Awesome guy!

Prof.: Kalyagin is a fantastic professor at Chabot College! His straightforward lessons and clear teaching make learning easy. Abundant group work and helpful online exercises are perfect for studying at your own pace. Highly recommend!

dimitri was an amazing professor. although i'm transferring my major, with his class i have still found so much value in accounting in not only the business world, but also in the real world. he's very good at explaining tough concepts and knows all the material very well! he worked as an accountant before, so you're getting the real deal with him!

I have taken this class at Chabot College as well as ucsc this one is much more understandable, great professor, loved this class here @chabot 100%!!

I took this professor for BUS 1A and 1B. He is possibly one of the best professors at Chabot College. He makes Accounting very easy to understand, and he truly cares about his students passing. He is the reason I am going into Accounting. All of the work was done online except for the in-class activities and quizzes are online(unless you are in 1A)

Professor Kalyagin is a great instructor/motivator. He regularly sends reminders when assignments are due and to participate in DBs. I feel that he really wants his students to succeed in his class. Professor Kalyagin is a very knowledgeable and caring instructor. I learned a lot from his accounting class this semester.

Theres not another professor at chabot I'd recommend over Dmitriy. I'd argue hes the best at chabot (No glaze and really). Dmitriy explains throughly and simple enough to quickly grasp concepts. If you get confused in class, don't worry. He has this sense and will spot and help you. Dmitriy is a great professor all around and I recommend him fully.

He's a highly qualified and experienced teacher. His classes are very dynamic. He's very approachable and helps you whenever you need help. He's undoubtedly one of the best teachers around. And I would definitely take classes with him again. Highly recommended!

Great Professor. Super nice and understanding. Assignments especially the smart book and homework can be like pretty long but they're not that hard. He doesn't allow late work at all and you can make up one quiz and if you miss any of the in class assignments you can't make those up. Overall, he's a good professor and most the work is online.

Great professor who actually teaches his students on the course material. You can tell he is passionate about what he teaches. It's pretty easy to get an A in his class if you pay attention to the course material and don't fall behind. The due dates are consistent throughout the entire semester. Highly recommend, thanks Professor Kalyagin!

very easy class lectures are straight forward not hard at all a quiz every week but only 10 questions in a group a homework assignment every weekend and smart book but both very easy and he explains and brakes them down threw the week

Dmitriy is the goat accounting professor but only if you actually care about learning the material and being attentive. Honestly I really recommend this class to anyone, especially in-person once you meet him you will understand.

He used McGraw hill ( $80 online text book that you HAVE to buy)but I liked and appreciated that every week it was the same amount of work. None to very little room for extensions. It's an easier class for accounting considering accounting is rough. Would recommend and will probably end up taking more of his courses.

Professor Dmitriy is one of the best online professors I've ever taken. He provides everything necessary to succeed, whether that includes PowerPoint presentations, a discussion post for a specific question, or any other task. He grades everything within a specific timeframe. 10/10 Professor.

Very Perfect

He assigned a lot of work tbh, so just don't wait until the last day to do everything, rather spread work throughout the week. You may be learning a new concept entirely so watch all his lectures to get a better understanding on how to complete hw. Work feels the same every week, DBs, hw, and quiz. Prof is very nice.
