Nice when she wants to be but needs to work on the way she words her feedback/responses to students online. I agree with the other commenter that she has a very condescending tone and comes across as rude/sarcastic. Very text heavy, but lectures are informative. Don't take her if you have more than 1-2 other classes. Wouldn't take her again.

Not good. Does not admit when she makes a mistake. Very rude and condescending. I have been in school for a long time and she is probably the worst instructor I have ever had.

I'm surprised to see low ratings here. I took Professor Davison years ago. If every history professor taught like her, I would definitely have majored in history. She had passion for the subject and was very entertaining. Was open to helping students out and she opened my mind to different figures in history Learned so much from her

Very easy, do discussions every week after reading mod written by prof. A few mid-size papers. Gives personal feedback on everything, very nice. Would take again.

Straightforward class, only 150 words of writing per week for the discussion post and response, so it was easy to keep up with. Her modules are interesting and she gives detailed and quick feedback on all assignments.

PLS take a DIFFERENT history professor!!!! She accused me of using AI on one paper when I wrote my essay on something personal bc she had a "feeling". I had so much proof that I wrote it myself + sent my revision history, my old writings before AI existed. Doesn't like to admit when she is wrong (very frustrating) Dropped the class with a C :(

She's an excellent professor who sincerely cares about her students. If you follow her assignment instructions, success is practically guaranteed. Her emails are straightforward and polite.I disagree with someone said she is condescending.During my appointment with her to discuss a letter of recommendation, she was nice and gave me helpful advice.

Her assignment instructions are clear The readings for the class were mostly easy to understand, which made the learning experience enjoyable. I'm surprised by the negative reviews here cuz I had a great experience studying with Prof. Davison. I transferred to UCLA to study gender studies .I don't think I could have made it without her guidance.

I took her classes in 2023 and 2024, and I must say, the negative comments about her on this page are completely off the mark. She's the best professor I've had at Foothill. Even though English isn't my native language, I didn't feel overwhelmed in her classes because she works hard to make class interesting and engaging!

Professor Davison's classes can be challenging, but worth the effort. While feedback can be blunt, her lectures are engaging. Unstuckstudy and the provided materials helped me succeed.

Workload is very manageable. Only 2 informal essays, 1 research paper, and midterm/final. Discussion posts every week but they are very simple. You are supposed to read the textbook but you can get away w it if you use ChatGPT for main ideas and briefly scan modules.

Way too much work for an intro class. A 600-word essay was due within 2 weeks and a ‘midterm examination' by week 4. Grading felt harsh and overwhelming so early in the quarter. Be prepared for a heavy workload right from the start.

The professor can seem harsh, but I think she just wants to push you. I disliked one thing: she regraded an assignment and dropped my score because I corrected her on a misspelled name; she initially thought I spelled it "uniquely." That pissed me off. Also, the whole class seemed to cheat a lot, and I felt that wasn't addressed well.
