DON'T TAKE HIM!!!!This professor has issues. I have re-written assignments three times with his suggested corrections and I still ended up with d's. I am not the best but these assignments would've been perfect for any other class.

Where to begin? This guy is an egotistical SOB. Don't expect to ever get higher than a C on any paper, which are useless, by the way, since NO ONE writes "Memo's" anymore. Let's you redo work, but if you fix what he told you, on the redo he tells you the opposite. Ridiculous prof. Hated every single class.

Do not take this professor if at all possible! He is an EXTREMELY tough grader and he is a know-it-all. He acts like others opinions are wrong and his is right. DO NOT TAKE HIM!

This Professor in thick headed, very rude, and will give you a redo or an A. There is not a middle ground, if your writing style isn't his expect a redo. The only possible way to pass the class is if your an avid comic book reader since birth. Avoid this class at all coasts.

This is one of the worst professors I've ever had. The class was completely pointless. Just busy work, not helpful at all. I didn't learn a single thing. Do not bother taking this class, there are plenty of other teachers for Adv. Comp.

Bruni is a horrible professor, does not teach you anything about writing. Gives redos and still does not say what he wants. Avoid him!

This guy is a complete Dick. It seems to almost be impossible to pass any paper. If you don't have any knowledge of comic books DO NOT take this class. Despite being a 100 level class, you must know a lot about comics in order to feel good about how you're doing in this class.

Taking someone else would save your GPA. Grading is very though and the explanations on papers are unclear. He doesn't really help you either and can be very harsh on you. classes are easy but the grading and papers are hard. Save some stress and take someone else.

Definitely take someone else! Yes there are redos on papers but the best grade you can get on it is a C so don't even bother. His feedback on papers are also hard to understand. Rude personality as well.

Hardest class i have ever took! his assignments make no sense and gives no good feed back! he is right away to criticize your work and points out your flaws in front of others. very rude and has too much expectations. never satisfied with your hard work. Do not take!

Not a very polite professor and fails to show respect towards the students. Shows rude and unnecessary attitudes towards students as well. Grading is very hard and assignments are not clear. He will only confuse you more if you ask about the assignment. Expectations are also very high so I wouldn't recommend him.

Took him for Lit and Film. Not a good class to take if you are looking for the easy way out. It is nice at first because all you do is watch movies and never really discuss the books too much but the tests are pretty much movie quotes and irrelevant questions. Gives out writing assignments all the time and is a VERY hard grader.

I cannot believe how rude and disrespectful this professor is to other students. If you try and ask a question, he will immediately shoot you down and make you feel insignificant in front of the whole class. He also is an extremely tough grader, especially for it only being a 200 level class. There is also an extreme amount of out of class work.

Absolutely a rude professor. For this to be a freshmen course it has been very difficult. He has a rude personality and is not afraid to point out your flaws. He is very unclear on assignments and is very unwilling to help. He may seem nice at first but he turned out to be very rude, almost impossible to pass papers with a C, avoid if possible.

He is a very difficult teacher. Very rude and disrespectful at times. The first couple of weeks are easy but after that it is a lot of work outside of class. He does not teach at all and just shows movies the whole class period. He expects you to know all of these filmic techniques just from the book. Awful class and do not recommend.

Horrible experience. Essays are graded based upon his opinion so its hard to even get a C on them. Too high of an expectation and does not teach well. Dont bother asking for help, will only confuse you more. He will allow redos on essays but they are no use, you will likely receive same grade or worse. Rude and impatient professor as well.

Terrible professor. Shows random, unrelated videos in class and then gives out papers with unclear criteria and doesn't hand them back for forever. He says you can redo them if he gets to it but he will never get to it. says "in some way, shape or form" about 90 times per lecture. 1/10 would not recommend.

The most irritating class ever. Lectures are almost irrelevant to the assignments and papers are graded slowly. Tried a few redo papers but still recieved the same grade. Dont even bother taking Bruni, rude to the max and super arrogant.

Worst teacher i have ever had. Doesn't give you any criteria or any sort of format and grades terribly. class is irrelevant and doesn't teach you anything. plus his grading scale is awful, i recieved an 83 in the class found out that was a C+.

We were allowed to do redo's on the papers assigned to us if we needed which I thought was nice of him. Only problem with that is that we received most of them the class before all redo's were due. The class postings are hard to keep up with because he never reminds you. Pop quizzes so make sure to read syllabus. Portrays himself as better than all

Class was easy b/c we watched videos for the most part and very little lecture on how to become a better write, which is the point of this class. Papers are impossible to do without lots of help, otherwise its a C at best. Also he is very rude, arrogant, and shows no sense of care for his students.

I feel like he's never specific for anything. He will just have you watch random videos in class and then be like go try and write a paper on things like unofficial images and make that topic last four pages have fun. I hated this class.

He is very tough grader and if you get even a 91% on a paper, he still only considers it a B+. He did not improve my skills as a writer at all and for the many papers he assigns, he talks maybe ten minutes about them and then you're on your own. The rest of the time he just shows us videos and articles that are not relevant to the class at all.

To think this class was to help better writing skills, it was opposite of that. He did not care to teach anything besides showing a bunch of videos and expects us to know how to write at a college level off the bat. He is arrogant, rude and gives out F's for A quality work.

This class is awful with Bruni. I started out the semester loving the class. Now Im stuck in it, with full realization that I wasted my money taking it. He gives no direction in paper expectations and takes a lot of time for him to return assignments. Solid writer here - but still completely torn apart by this guy. Avoid him!

Terrible prof. Rude and arrogant. All he does is show videos and TedTalks that don't even relate to the papers you have to write. If you ask for help on rewrites especially, you will just get more confused. His expectations and due dates for papers are very unclear and he gets easily offended when you aren't aware of them. Avoid at all costs.

Stay away at all costs. No clear grading. Very rude, makes you feel stupid for asking questions. Class is mandatory, but nothing you do in class will help you with your papers. "Redos" on papers are useless to waste your time on. Lots of essays that do not have clear prompts. Take a different class.

Worst professor i've had so far. You won't know your grade like the whole semester. He doesn't hand back some of the papers. His lectures are pointless but you have to show up or you get a lower grade. The paper assignments are unclear and he does not give good feedback. Take someone else.

My main issue with his class is the fact that you never know your standing grade in the class because he just won't tell you and doesn't put grades in D2L. Also, has many inappropriate comments and barely explains essays.

Don't take this guy. He is a terrible teacher. He should not even work at this school. He is rude, gives lots of papers, and when your in class, its a waste of your time.

I took this class for the spring for gen eds, &I thought he would be a decent teacher. I wrong! As a class we had about 6 essays & some other group work we had to do for his class. His essay objectives vague, & he restricts creative freedom with your themes. As a class we didn't know any grades till the semester ended. Tip:Email him & talk to him

Professor Bruni seems to be a very interesting man outside of class, but he is a dreadful professor. Class time was spent watching Youtube clips or reading random facts from Mental Floss articles. When it came time to writing papers and essays, I felt like a deer in headlights and his feedback was illegible and poor. Overall, would not recommend.

Bruni doesn't explain the topics of his essays for WBIS very well, and he is a very hard grader. He doesn't grade anything until the end of the semester and all we do in class is watch videos.

Terrible professor and even worse person. Criticizes your papers on the littlest things and when he gives you feedback on your paper you can't even read his handwriting. When I asked him once what something said on his feedback he just laughed and did not help me at all. He makes you redo your essays if they aren't good enough for him. 0/10.

Worst Professor I have ever had. Be prepared to be stressing about your papers because they are long and the topics he gives are very brief and hard to write on. He made my first-semester suck so much. He also gives you feedback on your papers and you will not be able to read them. Didn't learn a single thing on how to become a better writer.

This class was the actual death of me. He honestly took the fun out of writing for me. There's 6 essays in class, and there is also a group project towards the end of the semester. 10/10 do not recommend having him as a teacher, but if you have to have him just know that you won't know what your grade is until the end of semester. The single most useless class I have taken for the gen eds. The entire time all we did is watch random videos or talk about random topics not even relevant to the papers we were assigned. Also, doesn't grade anything until the end of the semester. I saw the reviews and this prof's section was the only one that fit my schedule.... so, not great

He comes off as a nice guy in the beginning of the semester, but then turns into a jerk by the end. There are SO MANY unnecessary assignments that do not help me become a better writer whatsoever. Half of the things you talk about in class have nothing to do with writing, and he does NOT explain assignments clearly AT ALL. Terrible use of my time.

This professor is pointless. The class consists of showing up to lectures and doing other homework, as everything he talked about had nothing to do with the assignments. He was also an insanely hard grader, Im not sure that he even gave out A's to anyone on a paper besides the Annotated Bibliography. Seriously, dont take him unless you have to.

Class is pointless we just watch youtube videos that don't relate to this class at all. I took him for connect 300 and now lit and film and hes even worse. Throws on a movie and thats it. Basically don't take him

He's by far one of the worst professors I've had.

This professor is awful. I was forced to take this class as I had no other option of professors. He is literally the worst. I had tried so hard in his class, and he made me feel like my work was trash. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS IT IS A NIGHTMAREEEEEE!!!

Never graded anything. Hardly taught anything and was very negative and just told everyone what they did wrong. Never had anything positive to say. Entire class was on American music and that didnt interest anyone and paper topics were confusing and just boring.

We didn't even have class. Dude sent you an email every week with what should be done. Sounds like the best class ever until you realize he only grades like 3 things and doesnt teach you how to do any of the big writing assignments. Last paper is 8 pages with no instruction. Horrible professor, does not teach or stay in contact with students.

This is the first day that I have had classes with this guy and he acted totally troublesome. He was not helpful at all with all of the questions I have had. Switching to a different professor.

One of the worst professors you could ever take. Have to retake him now since he cant do something called his job as a professor and help his students.

I would never take this professor again since he has treated a student with a disability differently than his regular students by lowering his score because he is disabled! Shame!

Domenic was not clear on his assignments and had led me to pretty much almost failing the course. It is not okay to leave students behind and let them fail because their learning style is different than your teaching style. I hope he never comes back to the University.

This professor doesn't teach you how to write. All he does is tell you to go look at some videos to learn from. I might as well just look up videos on youtube then. I don't recommend this professor if you have a heard time writing.

Domenic Bruni taught this course completely online due to the pandemic and it was the most unorganized class I've had. He would post announcements on days that referred to other days which was very confusing and would contradict himself. He also curved the grades down and made it harder to pass. My 88% was entered as a B, and and D- was 70%. Unfair

The bane of my existence. I took WRT 288 with him during the spring semester, and this was the worst course I have ever taken. All assignments were not explained at all, and left up to us to complete. I emailed him 4 times within a week and he never responded to an email of mine till the end of the semester. He replied to my roommate emails though.

Bruni gives very confusing assignments. He contradicted in the assignment description and then will be upset when you don't understand. A direct quote from an assignment "develop a research question to answer in this paper" at the top of the description and then at the end "objective essay focusing on one or two of the key questions noted above."

He lectures on the same exact thing throughout the length of the course and it is all about American music. He is extremely boring and not a very nice person. Many times he would throw you into an essay without telling you what is expected. On papers he would write that it is horrible and a waste of his time.
