Tiani is a great professor and his exams were fair. I went to his problem solving sessions and he wasn't too condescending. He just wants to make sure you understand the material and wants to get the best out of you. He is very nice and I enjoyed his class. Sometimes it was hard to read his handwriting on the lecture slides. Do lots of practice.

You can tell that Dr. Tiani enjoys teaching this class and is very knowledgeable about the subject. However, this means that sometimes he goes off on tangents unrelated to the tested topics. Additionally, his class is very test heavy but the tests are fair. Finally, the only negative thing about his lectures is his handwriting.

Despite not having a great grade, Dr.Tiani is such a good professor for Analytical Chem. His tests are pretty straightforward, he teaches in a way that is applicable outside of class, and he's funny. He is very helpful both in and outside of class. Further, he ensures that students understand the material and know they aren't defined by a grade.

Dr. Tiani is very passionate about his job and cares a lot about the success of his students. I think his tests were similar to his PowerPoints, PollEv questions, HW questions, and Tiani review sessions. Tons of resources available, so if you use them and practice you'll do well. Some of chemical methods are more abstract but it is interesting!

Tiani's lectures were helpful to explain the readings. However, extra practice and GPSS are definitely necessary to get a good grade in the class. Do not go to his GPSS or office hours. He is very condescending, especially in small groups and one on one. He talks over you, does not answer your question, and rambles. Makes you feel dumb.

Analytical is already a weird class since it doesn't go along with other chemistry courses, but Tiani made this way more unbearable. His handwriting was impossible to read, and I spent more time trying to decipher it than learn the material. I couldn't follow his lectures and ended up teaching myself the entire class online in order to get an A.

Dr. Tiani was one of the best professors I've had under UNC's chemistry department. I was personally a big fan of his lecture style, as he'd often go over the exact content that you needed to know to do well on his exams. The lectures are somewhat rapid paced, but if you set aside some time a day to work/review practice problems, you'll do great!

not a bad teacher at all, but very tough. my main issue with prof. tiani is that about halfway through the semester he would get mad at students asking questions in the lecture/just answering a question he asked wrong. it kinda discouraged engagement a bit. also for exams, study the content that doesn't get reviewed often. it WILL be on the exam.

Dr. Tiani sounds like a professor who knows the information that he is teaching, but this is another case where his exams don't match what he teaches sometimes. Theory questions on exams are easy, but math can be ok to very niche and crazy sometimes, rarely in stuff he gives. He is very helpful in his office hours, would recommend him overall.
